If you are a Gentile Christian, you are a wild branch grafted into someone else's tree. But what of the original covenant? God has not abandoned His people. Though many have fallen away, he kept a remnant by grace, and Paul himself is the proof. But what does Paul mean when he says, "all Israel will be saved"? This is one of the most debated passages in the letter, and getting it wrong has real consequences. The Rev. John Lukomski, pastor emeritus and co-host of Wrestling with the Basics on KFUO Radio, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Romans 11:1–36. Why does doing the right thing sometimes feel impossible? Why do feelings of guilt follow us even when we've been forgiven? These aren't new questions. St. Paul wrote his letter to the Romans for a church he had never visited, and yet he addressed the struggles every Christian knows firsthand: the weight of the law, the persistence of sin, the sufficiency of what God has done in Christ. Romans covers enormous ground. Paul moves from the universal problem of sin through justification by faith, the role of baptism, the war between flesh and spirit, God's faithfulness to Israel, and the shape of life together in the body of Christ. There's a reason the Reformation was born in this letter. Join us on Thy Strong Word as we open up Romans, weekdays at 11am or on-demand anytime, at KFUO.org. Thy Strong Word, hosted by Rev. Dr. Phil Booe, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Luverne, MN, reveals the light of our salvation in Christ through study of God's Word, breaking our darkness with His redeeming light. Each weekday, two pastors fix our eyes on Jesus by considering Holy Scripture, verse by verse, in order to be strengthened in the Word and be equipped to faithfully serve in our daily vocations. Greetings saints of the Most High. In this installment of the Messianic Torah Observer, I offer a needed clarification regarding Israel, the Jewish people, and the broader discussion from this teaching series, "What the Torah Can and Cannot Do for Us." In this episode, I examine what Scripture says about Yah's everlasting covenant with Israel, Paul's teaching that God has not rejected His people, and the reality that we as non-Jewish believers are grafted into the commonwealth of Israel rather than replacing it. I also address the misuse of passages such as "neither Jew nor Greek" and explain why Torah can never be used as a justification for contempt, condemnation, or arrogance toward our Jewish cousins. If you have ever wrestled with the relationship between Torah, covenant, Israel, grace, and the calling of Gentile believers in Messiah, this teaching will help ground that discussion in the plain witness of Scripture. My prayer is that this message leads us all toward covenant humility, truth, prayer, and love rather than pride or hostility. Key themes in this teaching include: Yah's everlasting covenant with Israel God has not rejected His people Grafted into the commonwealth of Israel The meaning of "neither Jew nor Greek" in context The oracles of God entrusted to Israel Why Torah does not sanction contempt

God’s redemptive plan for the world began with Israel and the Jewish people. But how are Christians grafted into this plan? And what does that mean for the Jewish people today? For that matter, how should it affect the way believers think and live? This week on The Land and the Book, we’ll look at what the Bible teaches about Israel, and why the Jewish people remain central in God’s purposes. What if being united to God begins with being cut open? In this episode of Draw Near, we explore Romans 11 and the powerful image of being “grafted” into God. Using the biblical metaphor of the olive tree, St. Paul reveals something profound about the spiritual life: union with God is living, dependent, and deeply transformative. Grafting is no gentle process. It requires cutting, exposure, and vulnerability before new life can take hold. And the same is true in our relationship with God. He does not simply improve us from the outside; he works within us, cutting away what is hardened so that we can receive his life more fully. We reflect on how God is the root who sustains us, how we are invited to remain in him, and what it means to bear interior fruit fruit that comes not from our own strength, but from grace. Drawing connections to Ezekiel 36 and the promise of a new heart, this episode invites you to consider how God may be at work in the hidden places of your life; and what areas of your own life have you hardened? If you've ever wrestled with vulnerability, struggled to trust God in the midst of difficulty, or wondered how real transformation actually happens—this conversation is for you. Like our podcast? What's So New About the New Covenant – Part 2 | Circumcision of the Heart Explained | KIB 523 Kingdom Intelligence Briefing Description In this powerful episode of the Kingdom Intelligence Briefing, Dr. Michael and Mary Lou Lake explore one of the most neglected truths in modern Christianity: circumcision of the heart and the true reality of the New Covenant. Mary Lou opens with encouragement for the remnant, updates on weather-related prayer needs in Arizona and New Mexico, and a reminder that God often gives watchmen warnings so the Body of Christ can pray and stop what the enemy intends. She also highlights the importance of remembering the Lord's deliverance through the Passover and the protective power of the blood of Jesus. Dr. Lake then continues his important series, "What's So New About the New Covenant?" by diving deep into the biblical meaning of heart circumcision. He explains the difference between the relational, functional, and positional dimensions of covenant life, and shows how the Torah written on the heart is not a discarded Old Testament idea but a fulfilled New Covenant reality in Christ. This episode addresses: the difference between outward religion and inward transformation why the Church has misunderstood the New Covenant how bad theology can wound the spirit why the commandments of God still matter when rightly understood how circumcision of the heart prepares the remnant for the days ahead If you have been hungry for a deeper understanding of Scripture, covenant life, and true spiritual maturity, this episode will encourage, challenge, and strengthen you. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe to help us continue preparing the remnant for the last days. Romans 11 reminds us that being part of God's family isn't something we earned—it's something we've been graciously grafted into. Using the image of a tree, Paul warns believers not to become proud or complacent, but to remain rooted in faith and humility. God is both kind and severe—welcoming those who trust Him while cutting off those who reject Him. Tonight we'll challenge our tendency to take grace for granted and calls us to examine the posture of our hearts. At the end of the day, it's not about what you've been given—it's about whether you stay connected to the source.Scripture:Romans 10:18 - 11:24Resources:FaceBook- FCC Young AdultsInstagram- @fccyaEmail- fccyadmin@fccsantamaria.orgWebsite- fccsantamaria.org

And yet, God has grafted Gentile believers into the spiritual family tree of Abraham. God's redemptive plan includes only one root. Ethnic Jews and ethnic Gentiles receive the promises of the New Covenant in the same way; by being grafter in to the root, by faith. In this passage, Paul warns against pride and he warns against assuming you are part of the root because you appear to be outwardly. Salvation does not come through tradition but by grace through faith.

In this episode of The Strength In Weakness Podcast, Morgan and Ellen explore adoption through a deeply biblical lens—our own adoption into God's family—and how that spiritual reality can shape the way parents walk with their adopted children through questions of identity and LGBTQ experiences.Drawing from Ellen's counseling work and Morgan's family stories, they talk about the unique ache and beauty of adoption: the grief of expectations that shift, the longing for belonging, and the sacred reality of being chosen and brought into a family by love, not biology.Together, they help parents see how their relationship with God—as adopted sons and daughters—can guide how they love, steady, and shepherd their children, especially when fear or self-blame rises. They unpack:How God's adoptive love models patient, non-controlling, unconditional presenceWhy adopted kids may wrestle more deeply with identity and belongingHow parents can reflect God's tenderness, stability, and pursuit in moments of tensionPractical ways to anchor your child's worth in being chosen—not just by you, but by GodThis episode invites parents to breathe again, to grieve and rejoice at the same time, and to remember: the story of adoption has always been God's story—and He walks with you as you live it out in your own home.Connect With Strength In Weakness#Temptation #Faith #ChristianPodcast #OvercomingSin #StrengthAndWeakness
Why did Paul end his masterpiece in Romans with a promise that “all Israel will be saved”? What does that mean - and has it already happened, or is it still to come? In this wide-ranging conversation with Dr. Michael Brown, author of Our Hands Are Stained with Blood and host of The Line of Fire, we trace how Romans 9–11 reveals the continuity of God's plan for Israel and the nations. Dr. Brown unpacks Paul's argument verse by verse, explains why replacement theology opened the door to antisemitism in church history, and clarifies how “all Israel” refers to a future national turning to Messiah - not merely a cumulative remnant. We also talk about the surge of antisemitism after October 7, the confusion in the modern church, and why believers must recover a biblical vision of Israel's role in redemptive history. This isn't a side issue. It's the center of the gospel's story of mercy. Key Takeaways Romans 11 completes the gospel logic: if Israel's rejection brought salvation to the world, her acceptance will bring life from the dead. “All Israel” means a future national turning, not just a historical remnant. The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable - for Israel and for the Church. Replacement theology helped pave the way for centuries of antisemitism. Understanding Israel clarifies the gospel's continuity from Abraham to today. The Church's calling is to provoke Israel to envy, not erase her identity. God's covenant faithfulness guarantees Israel's future redemption. Chapter Markers 00:00 – Intro + welcome to Dr. Michael Brown 05:00 – Antisemitism and replacement theology after October 7 09:30 – Romans 9–11 overview - Paul's logic for Israel's future 15:40 – “All Israel will be saved”: what Paul actually meant 18:00 – Grafted in vs. replaced - understanding the olive tree 24:00 – How the Church lost its Jewish roots 31:00 – The rise of antisemitism in a TikTok generation 36:00 – What believers can do now - pray, speak, stand 44:00 – Dr. Brown's upcoming debates & resource Romans 11 ends with worship because God's mercy story ends in faithfulness. “All Israel will be saved” is not wishful thinking - it's covenant reality. Shudder is blowing out the candles, and we're joining the party! In this special episode, we spotlight four standout Shudder originals that showcase the streaming service's unique approach to horror. We start with Blood Quantum (2020), Jeff Barnaby's bold and bloody take on the zombie genre with a sharp cultural edge. Then we unravel the eerie tension of Caveat (2020), a claustrophobic chamber piece that proves minimalism can be terrifying. Next up, we descend into Mad God (2021), Phil Tippett's decades-in-the-making stop-motion nightmare that's as mesmerizing as it is disturbing. Finally, we check out Grafted (2024), a body-horror gem that combines beauty expectations and mutation in unsettling ways. Together, these films highlight Shudder's range—from socially charged horror to experimental art to nerve-racking slow burns. Whether you're a longtime subscriber or just horror-curious, this birthday bash proves why Shudder has become the home of modern horror. We are joined by No Bodies!
