This episode centers on a powerful, foundational question: what truly anchors our faith when the world feels uncertain and unsettled?Josh and Caitlin reflect on recent conversations with close friends and family members who asked where their testimony and hope come from. The hosts share openly that the core of real endurance is not built on perfect circumstances, successful businesses, or even constant answers from God. Instead, it grows from knowing one eternal truth: we are sons and daughters of Heavenly Parents. This episode is sincere, hopeful, and practical. It reminds listeners that while life may feel heavier each year, the love of God never changes. He is patient with us, involved in our lives, and invites us to keep pressing forward—faithfully and imperfectly.Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/enduretotheendpod/Zunex Pest Control: https://www.instagram.com/zunexpestco/00:03 – Podcast welcome and introduction00:34 – Where Josh's faith stems from01:06 – The hinge point of testimony01:20 – How faith gets us through hard times02:13 – Recognizing a relationship with God03:23 – Alignment with Jesus Christ brings clarity04:09 – Grace versus perfectionism04:53 – God's nature never changes05:28 – Identity as children of God06:12 – Strained earthly relationships07:41 – Sharing personal stories08:10 – High school infatuation example10:16 – Idealizing people beyond reality11:05 – Josh's mission turning point12:26 – Learning to trust God personally13:14 – Ether 12:27 and weakness15:28 – Scripture: Rich young ruler17:04 – Giving God our whole heart18:30 – Faith forged in painful moments19:24 – Over-idealization and identity21:24 – Gratitude for God leading us22:15 – Healing through boundaries27:01 – Meekness explained30:12 – Responsibility to be good to others33:20 – Teaching children correctly34:39 – True definition of meekness36:29 – Scripture: Romans 8:16-1738:36 – God's love for all people41:03 – Think Celestial segment44:41 – Final testimony45:53 – Closing encouragement

How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. - Hebrews 9:14 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. - 1 Timothy 1:5 Christian liberty is to be governed by love. 1. For the sake of your brother 2. For the sake of Christ's body “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” - Matthew 5:6 “I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith.” - Paul the Apostle (Philippians 3:9-10 NLT) Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. - Colossians 3:15 NLT Christian liberty is to be governed by love.  3. For the sake of God's blessing Conclusion 1. Biblical Talks  All throughout the Holy Bible, we discover the character of God. In this episode of Biblical Talks, SD and Lady V explore Ezekiel 37:1-14 from the New Living Translation. In this passage, God gives Ezekiel a vision of a valley filled with dry bones. It's a powerful reminder of God's incredible redemptive love, available to all who belong to Him. There are many lessons to take away from this chapter. And just as importantly, all scripture is meant for our learning and can be applied to our everyday lives.  With that in mind, have you read Ezekiel 37:1-14 New Living Translation. If so -- what are your thoughts? If not, no worries, we've got you covered. In any case, join us with your Bible or Bible app.  Also, go ahead and use the player at the top of this blog post or subscribe and listen via your preferred podcast platform to follow along.  Then get encouraged by joining SD and Lady V in this Biblical Talk — A Valley of Dry Bones.  Scriptures Referenced in Episode Discussion  Ezekiel 37:1-14 NLT John 3:16-17  Romans 10:9-10 Numbers 6:24-26  Receive your Free Gift of Salvation – The Gospel of Jesus Christ  Explanation  If you are reading this, it is not by chance. This is your time to receive the Gift of Salvation through Christ Jesus.  Now, you may be wondering, "Why do I need that?" Oh, I'm so glad you asked. The Bible says, that because  Adam ate fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil -- he released sin into the world.  And ultimately, Adam's sin brought death and death spread to everyone.  No doubt, you may be thinking, "Of course, everyone is going to die." But, my question to you is "Where will you spend eternity?" Because there is life after death. In fact, when you die you go to one of two places -- heaven or hell.  Also, it is important to understand that Adam's sin also brought an eternity in hell. But for those who choose not to receive the free gift of eternal life. Thus, you must make that choice before you take your last breath.  Romans 5:17 New Living Translation says,  “For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.”  To sum it all up, Romans 6:23 New Living Translation says,  “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”  So, if you are reading this, don't let another day go by without receiving this life-changing gift.  Scripture   Romans 10:8-10 New Living Translation says,  “8 …“The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach:  9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”  Salvation Prayer  Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins. I ask You to forgive me. I want to follow You, Jesus. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith, I ask You to be my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your gift of grace and for eternity with You.  Listen to We R S.H.E.Talks Podcast  Use the web player above this blog post to listen or subscribe and listen via your favorite podcast platform.   Bible Study Resources  Holy Bible [NLT, NIV, ESV, NASB, NKJV, KJV]  Bible App by YouVersion  NLT Chronological Life Application Study Bible  Read the Bible Online – Bible Gateway  Read the Bible and Commentaries Online – Bible Hub  Read Living by the Book: The Art and Science of Reading the Bible by Howard G. Scripture: Romans 14:1-12 Transformative Truth: Since the Lord welcomes us, we should welcome one another.   Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. - Romans 15:7 How should I relate to fellow Christians whose consciences disagree with mine? The Problem Feel as I feel, think only as I think; Eat what I eat, drink what I drink, Look as I look, do always as I do, Then and only then will I fellowship with you. The Prescription To the strong: 1. Welcome your weaker brother (v. 1). 2. Do not despise him (vv. 3a, 10b) To the weak: Stop passing judgment (vv. 3b, 4a, 10a) Should a man not lay his hand upon his mouth before he criticizes his brethren? When we pass swift, uninformed, unloving and ungenerous judgments, surely we have forgotten that if we speak evil of them, at the same time we speak evil of the Lord whose name they bear. The Principles 1. God welcomes all believers (v. 3) 2. The Lord upholds every believer (v. 4) 3. The Lord is sovereign over every believer (vv. 5-9) “To deny the lordship of Jesus Christ in the life of any believer is to subvert the full work, power, and purpose of His crucifixion and resurrection.” 4. The Lord alone will judge each believer (vv. 10-12).

Scripture:  Romans 8:29, Luke 6:39-40,Galatians 3:3, Matthew 11:28-30 Speaker:  Scott Meyer Summary: The sermon teaches that the goal of the Christian life is not merely to get to heaven, but to become more and more like Jesus each day. Everyone is always being formed by something.  It may be stories, habits, relationships, experiences, and environments.  Disciples of Jesus must intentionally choose what is shaping them. Becoming like Jesus is a lifelong process that requires the power of the Holy Spirit and our active participation in the practices of Jesus. Spiritual formation is not achieved by knowledge alone or passive faith, but through cooperating with God as we adopt Jesus' way of life. Our lives are “under construction,” and by God's Spirit, we are being transformed to reflect Christ more clearly until the end.

Cheat Code: Rethink It | Breaking Free from Repeated Patterns What was I thinking? If you've ever asked yourself that question after repeating the same mistake—this message is for you. In week 3 of "Cheat Code," Pastor Ryan unpacks Romans 12:2 and reveals why we keep doing things we don't want to do anymore. Using the restoration process of refinishing furniture, this teaching shows the three-step process of renewing your mind and finally breaking the cycle. If we think the way we used to think, we'll do the things we used to do. Renewal without removal never lasts.

Timothy Keller Sermons Podcast by Gospel in Life

What gets God angry? Romans 1 tells us: ingratitude. If there's a God who created you, do you work for his goals or do you take all that he's given you and live for your own interests? My friends, that is ingratitude of the highest order, and this passage says it is secret treason.  The reason this is a secret treason is because you keep it secret from yourself. Romans 1 says even though we know deep down that there is a God who created us, we all suppress that truth to some degree. We know we're committing treason, but we keep it secret even from ourselves. We know it and we don't know it.  This passage looks at the structure of this secret treason: it says 1) ingratitude leads to repression, 2) repression leads to darkness, and 3) darkness leads to all of the problems in your life. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on November 19, 1989. Series: Ten Commandments 1989. Scripture: Romans 1:18–24. Today's podcast is brought to you by Gospel in Life, the site for all sermons, books, study guides and resources from Timothy Keller and Redeemer Presbyterian Church. “Get Ready, Get Ready, Get Ready” – Crossing the Jordan I. Introduction Opening greeting and call to readiness for the Word of God. Reference to the recent week of prayer and fasting as preparation. Sermon title: “Get Ready, Get Ready, Get Ready.” Text reference: Joshua 3:1–5. Key verse: “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” Connection to the new year (2026) as a “new season” — a place we've not passed before. II. Two Extremes in the Life of Faith Extreme #1: People who think everything depends on God alone. Passive faith; no personal effort (e.g., expecting blessings without action). Extreme #2: People who think everything depends on themselves. Self-striving faith; no prayer or reliance on God. Balanced truth (Joshua 3:5): Human responsibility → “Sanctify yourselves.” Divine power → “The Lord will do wonders.” A biblical tension: God acts, but we prepare. III. Historical and Scriptural Context Israel at the Jordan River. On the threshold of the Promised Land after 40 years of wandering. Consequence of earlier unbelief and disobedience. The Ark of the Covenant. Symbol of God's presence and holiness. Instructions: follow it at a distance — reverence before a holy God. The Crossing. Jordan River in flood (½ mile wide); an impossible situation needing a miracle. Spiritual parallel for 2026. Represents transition into a new season filled with both blessings and unknowns. IV. Our Part: “Sanctify Yourselves” Meaning of consecration. To set apart, make holy, dedicate to God's purposes. Synonyms: sanctify, purify, make acceptable to God. Illustration: The church drums. Ordinary objects made sacred through dedicated purpose. Believers are called to the same — living for God's glory. Practical applications of consecration. Self-examination and repentance of sin. Renew commitment to God and His house. Live holy lives — avoid spiritual compromise. Commitment to consistent church involvement and ministry. Stop gossip, negativity, and complaining; unity and obedience bring blessings. Financial consecration: honor God with firstfruits. Lifestyle consecration: avoid ungodly influences; guard media and relationships. Relational accountability and transparency (illustrated through phone example). Personal humility and ongoing sanctification — asking God to search the heart. Examples of sacrifice and faith. Pastor's story about his wife leaving a high-paying law job to serve in ministry. Lesson: Consecration often means sacrifice, but God multiplies what's surrendered. V. God's Part: “The Lord Will Do Wonders” Nature of God's wonders. Miracles, provisions, and supernatural acts demonstrating His glory. Miracles reveal who God is, not just what He does. Hope from Scripture (Romans 15:4). Old Testament lessons written for our learning and to build hope. The same God who parted the Jordan acts today. Faith declaration for 2026. God calls what is not as though it were — the promises are already in motion. Prophetic declarations for the year: Growth in intimacy with God. Healing and restoration (“this sickness is not unto death”). A rising young generation with holy passion. God will rebuke the devourer. Restoration of faith to believe again. VI. Conclusion and Call to Response Call for the congregation to stand, receive, and respond in faith. Affirmation that their fasting and prayer were part of consecration. Encouragement that God will release blessings long awaited. Exhortation to pray, worship, and believe for God's wonders in 2026.

Adoption: Neither Rejection Nor Abandonment Could Stop God’s Adoption Plan Introduction The Lies We've Let Ourselves Believe The Phrases of Abandonment and Rejection i.      “I’m not good enough and I need to be perfect or successful to be worthy of love.” ii.      “Everyone secretly hates me and no one wants me around.” iii.      “My emotions are too big to control, so I’m consumed by my anger and rage.” iv.      “I should feel shame and fear [about my life or life experiences].” v.      “I need to medicate the deep internal isolation/rejection I feel with [a physical stimulus].” vi.      “I have no worth beyond what I can provide.” vii.      “I’m a victim to circumstances I can’t escape.” viii.      “I cannot find rest in this world.” ix.      “No one else will ever understand me or what I’m going through.” x.      “I’m in competition with other people; there’s not ‘enough’ for all of us.” What We Say About Ourselves Matters i.      Key Scripture: Proverbs 18:21 [MSG] ii.      There's an enemy on the prowl 1.      1 Peter 5:8 2.      John 10:10 iii.      There’s an enemy on the prowl; he is looking to steal, kill, and destroy, but he has no real power over you. His time and power are limited and he’s looking for you to let him in. Your words can be his way in. iv.      Book Recommendation: Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left out, and Lonely by Lysa Terkeurst v.      We have to confront the lies we have allowed ourselves to believe. Jesus did not redeem you so that you can still be stuck believing that your temporary circumstances still define who you are. BUT GOD! Key Scripture: Ephesians 1:5 The Details of Adoption i.      Greek word transliterated into “huiothesia.” ii.      Huiothesia is derived from two Greek words: “huios” meaning “son” and “tithemi” meaning “to place, put, or set.” iii.      Huiothesia literally translates to “placing as a son.” iv.      Additional Scriptures where huiothesia is used: Romans             8:15, Romans 8:23, Romans 9:4, Galatians 4:5 New Testament View on Adoption i.      Roman adoption was almost always something that happened to an adult, not a child Key point: You belonging, your adoption into a new family, was always the plan. Scripture vs. The Lies We Believe Lie: “I’m not good enough and I need to be perfect or successful to be worthy of love” i.      Scripture: Ephesians 2:10 ii.      Key point: You've already been called a masterpiece; the worth is already there. Lie: “Everyone secretly hates me and no one wants me around.” i.      Scripture: Psalm 139:14 ii.      Key point: How can someone shaped by God Himself not be wanted? This is a voice that’s meant to draw you into isolation, don’t follow it… Lie: “My emotions are too big to control, so I’m consumed by my anger and rage.” i.      Scriptures: Romans 12:21; Galatians 5:16, 19-21 ii.      Key point: Hey, all emotions are valid, all behavior is not. The Spirit of the LORD can and will help you not be consumed by your emotions. Lie: “I should feel shame and fear [about my life or life experiences]” i.      Scriptures: Romans 8:33-34; 2 Timothy 1:7 ii.      Key point: It’s okay to leave behind fear and shame. Lie: “I need to medicate the deep internal isolation/rejection I feel with [a physical stimulus].” i.      Scripture: Colossians 2:10 ii.      Key point: You can't find the healing and fulfillment you're craving anywhere else. Every “solution” will be temporary (yes, even healthy ones) when they’re not paired with Christ. When we draw near to God, He draws near to us and this is where healing actually begins. Lie: “I have no worth beyond what I can provide.” i.      Scripture: Romans 5:6-8(MSG) ii.      Key point: We, you and I both, had nothing to offer God. No skill, no talent, no resource, no activity He was interested in, no nothing. He thought and thinks you’re valuable in spite of that detail. We don’t need to beg for “scraps of His love” by presenting Him with our accomplishments, you already are loved and therefore have worth. Additionally, in relationships sometimes you will be the one giving help and other times you'll be the one receiving it, but both times you still have the same worth! Lie: “I’m a victim of circumstances I can’t escape.” i.      Scriptures: Psalm 71:20; 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 ii.      Key point: Your suffering hasn’t gone unnoticed and while it can fool you into believing there is no escape, you are not destroyed. Turn your eyes towards God who has created an escape for you, so that with Him you may be able to bear. Lie: “I cannot find rest in this world.” i.      Scriptures: Isaiah 40:30-31(NKJV); Matthew 11:28 ii.      Key point: I want to point out that to grow weary is not a fault of yours; it’s not some defect exclusive to you…it’s okay to be tired. Even the youths get tired, but here’s the Good News: the wait is over. There’s a lighter burden available, but we need to see it in the spiritual. However, there is a choice to be made: we must choose to come. Lie: “No one else will ever understand me or what I’m going through.” i.      Scriptures: Psalm 139:1-2; John 15:18; Hebrews 12:3 ii.      Key point: Please excuse my sense of humor, but you’re not that special…There’s nothing new under the sun (Ecc 1:9); suffering is not unique to you, it's the human condition. The LORD knows everything about you AND our suffering Savior knows exactly how you feel. You’re not crying out to someone who isn’t empathetic. His innocence met hostility and mistreatment, it’s not an experience unique to you…let Him comfort you. Lie: “I’m in competition with other people; there’s not ‘enough’ for all of us.” i.      Key point: Maybe this isn’t one you’ve said out loud or even admitted to yourself, but I wonder if it has shown up in your behavior. Desperate for acceptance and successful relationships we begin to act out of scarcity. Seeing the success of others begins to make you feel like there’s now somehow less success available for you. The success of their relationship means there is now less opportunity for you. Now suddenly you’re in secret competition with the people you should be praying for. A scarcity mindset is unbelief and comparison kills joy. Be the best YOU because that's who God made you! ii.      Scripture: 1st the admonishment — James 3:14-15 iii.      Scripture: 2nd the truth – 2 Corinthians 9:8 iv.      Scripture: 3rd the requirement – Philippians 2:4 v.      There is a God who is big enough to see and provide for all of us and any statement otherwise is a lie from the pit of hell. Still Room for Improvement Key Scripture: Romans 8:1 Am I Part of the Problem? i.      Understanding your identity as a child of God doesn't mean you just become a perfect person. Wearing a Kingdom identity well requires us to do some work. ii.      An Illustration from King David 1.      Innocent David a.       Scriptures: 1 Samuel 18:28-29; 19:1-5, 9 2.      Not so innocent David a.       Scripture: 2 Samuel 12:1-9 3.      Two things can be true at once: 1) we can be innocent and be mistreated and 2) we can behave in ways that produce negative outcomes. We need to be aware of both. 4.      Trauma shaped identities can cause turmoil in our relationships and result in people not wanting to be around us. This is not persecution; it’s the direct consequence of our undesirable behavior. Fooled By Our Sin Nature i.      “God made me like this.” With love, He didn't. ii.      Scripture: Psalm 139:23-24 1.      God can (and will) reveal to us the parts of our identities that we have taken on that are not from Him. Sin has distorted our standard of right and wrong; this means it’s not safe for us to rely solely on our own thoughts. iii.      Scripture: 2 Corinthians 13:5 1.      Genuine faith should produce obedience and faith and obedience produces Christ-like behavior. 2.      We must repent, turn away from, and make amends when our behaviors cause harm or else we will never maintain and experience the fullness of relationship with others and this is a detriment to our spiritual family and our Kingdom assignment. Conclusion: Taking on a New Identity Key scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 i.      There is no need to identify ourselves by our hurts, struggles, or failures. There is a more important title for you: An heir to the Kingdom of God. Here’s another one: Beloved Child of God. ii.      It has always been God’s pIan to welcome you home to Him. Please put on and live out your proper identity, the Kingdom needs its workers. Closing Scripture: John 1:12-13

Paul gives us an assurance at the end of Romans 8. It is magnificent and yet very simple. In these verses, he's saying, “Here's the thing that will absolutely change your life through Christ.”  Paul tells us this assurance, and he says this is the thing that you can use every day that will change your life. Let's look at it under three headings: 1) that we can be assured, 2) why we can be assured, and 3) how we can be assured. Rightly so, at Christmas, people who are suffering want to know, “Why should I be merry? What basis do I really have for joy?” The answer is that if Christmas really happened, if God really did open a cleft in the pitiless walls of this world, if he broke into our broken reality with his healing power, if he became a human being, then there are three solid bases for joy in any circumstance.  If Christmas happened, then even in the deepest grief, you can feel these three things holding you up: 1) our bad things will turn out for good, 2) our most truly good things can never be taken away from us, and 3) our best things are yet to come. If we're going to be equipped for real life, we have to see how Christ actually prepares us to face the unavoidable brutalities of life. We've been looking at how faith in Christ concretely and profoundly changes us. And in Romans 8, we get to the subject of suffering. It's absolutely crucial if we're going to be equipped in any spiritual way for real life, to see how Christ helps us in our sufferings. This text gives us three things: 1) it gives us a warning about suffering, 2) it gives us three resources for suffering, and 3) it tells us how we can be sure those resources will work. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on December 10, 2006. Series: In Christ Jesus: How the Spirit Transforms Us. Scripture: Romans 8:13-27. When I first embraced the Christian faith, there were a number of things in my life that profoundly needed changing. But nothing seemed to work until some Christian writers took me to Romans 6, 7 and 8.  When I began to understand the teaching of these chapters, my life began to change. In this brief series, I'm sharing these teachings with you as we ask this question: how does faith in Christ actually lead to real change in one's life? In Romans 8, we see that in Jesus, you get three things: 1) you get the freedom to know yourself, 2) you get a new method to change yourself, and 3) you get a new power to be yourself. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on December 3, 2006. Series: In Christ Jesus: How the Spirit Transforms Us. Scripture: Romans 8:1-13. How does change really happen in somebody's life? And how does faith in Christ concretely and practically lead to change?  In Romans 7 we see, in very starkly and shockingly realistic terms, a depiction of the human heart. And what we really see is the very heart that any principles about change have to be applied to. When we look at Romans 7, I think we learn three things: 1) what our biggest problem is, 2) what won't address that problem, and 3) what will. As we end our series on the Holy Spirit, we come to maybe the most astonishing thing the Holy Spirit does for us. We've looked at a number of well-known things the Holy Spirit does in us and for us. He calls us and enables us to believe. He regenerates us, creates Christ-like character in us, unites us inside the church, and empowers us with his gifts so we can serve people around us. But now we look at a passage that tells us about the ultimate, the final thing the Holy Spirit does for us.  Let's notice from the text 1) what the Spirit will do for us in the future, 2) what the Spirit, therefore, can do for us in the present, and 3) how we can let the Spirit do that in our lives. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on September 12, 2010. Series: The Holy Spirit. Scripture: Romans 8:17-25. If you've ever read a translation like the King James Version, you know when you get to the word “patience,” the older English translation will use the word “longsuffering.” This is because the Greek word for patience literally means to suffer a long time, which doesn't sound very promising.  What it's saying is that patience is the trait by which you are able to bear up under difficulty without giving up or giving in to bitterness. There are two kinds of patience: there's patience under difficult circumstances and there's patience with people. And Romans 12 is a remarkable passage about how to be patient and gracious to people who are opposing you.  This passage gives us 1) a principle of showing patience, 2) some ideas on how to practice it, and 3) how to get the power to do it. How do you know whether you're just trying to be good, or whether the Holy Spirit has really brought transformation into your life?  The way to know is to look at what's called the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5. There's a whole set of characteristics of a supernaturally changed heart. We're looking now at the first of these: joy. Romans 5 tells us three things about joy. It tells us 1) joy is important, 2) Christian joy is unique, and 3) where Christian joy comes from. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on April 18, 2010. Series: The Real Signs of the Spirit. Scripture: Romans 5:1-11.
