Personal belongings are things that belong to us, such as our pens, books, or shoes, or even a toy that our parents bought for us. Personal belongings are things that God has given us and you to use. If you make them, you will damage yourself and your family. One important reason why we should pay so much attention to our personal belongings is that when we take care of our belongings, we actually respect ourselves. If we take good care of our belongings, such as pens, notebooks, and school uniforms, we actually help the family economy. Our parents do not need to spend money just to buy pens, notebooks, or school uniforms.

Liam is about to set off on his 100-mile race. Absolute insanity and the team have some final thoughts. They answer questions about things they would rather do, than run 161km. Fair to say, they would go pretty far… Leisel is worried about getting a new car and the GC make her feel no better by telling their stories about brand new things that they’ve broken. Spida Sprays the Trump Tower news, saying the Gold Coast need foreign investment to make these massive projects go ahead. Liam gives the odds on things that may cause him not to finish this race. His calves, his brain and his bowels are all in the mix. Leisel and Spida put their money on him not finishing… Really optimistic stuff + The politician cheating scandal in Brissy gets the team talking. Do we care? Should we? If it’s impacting their work that’s one thing, but is it our business if they are getting honey where they get money?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A trio of Christchurch flatmates have gone all Sherlock Holmes on tracking down and reclaiming a trolley load of belongings stolen from their house in a burglary. The Waltham flatmates, two from a small Scottish village and the other from Northern Ireland came home last week to find their place ransacked. They called the police, but a bit of intel from a neighbour saw them launch their own investigation; within an hour they were outside a house, full of their stuff. Sarah Campbell spoke to Lisa Owen.

In this episode of Aging Starts Now, Elder Care Coordinator Pati Bedwell from Johnson McGinnis Elder Care Law & Estate Planning is joined by Sara Fort, founder of Do You Organization, to explore the emotional and practical challenges of downsizing. For many families, letting go of a lifetime of belongings can be one of the most difficult parts of aging and planning for the future. Whether it's decluttering a home, preparing for a move, or navigating the complex realities of hoarding behavior, these transitions are often deeply personal. In this conversation, we discuss: • Why downsizing can be such an emotional experience • How memories and identity become attached to belongings • How adult children can approach decluttering conversations compassionately • The difference between clutter, collections, and hoarding • When professional or mental health support may be needed • Practical first steps for starting the decluttering process Letting go isn't just about clearing out closets — it's about honoring memories, preserving dignity, and creating space for what matters most in the next chapter of life. If today's conversation resonated with you, share this episode with a family member or friend who may need encouragement to start this journey. This is Aging Starts Now, a podcast by Johnson McGinnis Elder Care Law & Estate Planning, helping families plan wisely, age confidently, and move forward with peace of mind. If you live in Tennessee and would like guidance with elder care planning, we invite you to reach out to our team. Because aging doesn't start at diagnosis — it starts now.

Alyssa Liu would give absolutely no advice to her younger self. Just let herself ride it out just like she did. Producer Sophia, Producer Justin, Anna & Raven all give their advice. Its Pick em' news! 3 headlines, Raven can only hear one story. Today's headlines are... Mayhem and destruction at a fast-food drive-thru, missing man found over a week later trapped in shoulder deep mud, callers to Washington State hotline press 2 for Spanish get accented ai English instead. What will he choose? Uber now calls for you to make 37 decisions before you can just call a ride. Music or no music? Speaking or silent rides? Anna and Raven discuss getting an uber these days after Anna confesses, she is worried to speak and come off as high maintenance. Is seat divorce a real thing? Couples are booking the same row- but an aisle eat and a window seat... leaving a stranger between them. This supposedly leaves space and individuality. Does anyone agree with this? Raven has thoughts. AM I CLOSE? Producer Justin quizzes Anna and Ravens skills on a very exciting upcoming day... Daylight Savings! Are they hot or cold? How much does anyone really know about the holiday(?) Dakota, Annas second grader had an interesting assembly at school. Integrity on the bus. Times have changed. Kids were crazy then, and they are crazy now. Anna and Raven dive into old bus stories. Break ups can be messy. Or not. Belongings are another part of this equation. After Ravens friend had his mattress lit on fire- it raised the question: What do you do with your ex's belongings after the breakup? Veronica is a Disney adult and wants to have a Disney themed “Cinderella” wedding at Disney. He loves that she loves Disney, and is okay with a Disney World Tokyo honeymoon, but thinks his family will think a Disney themed wedding is tacky, and truthfully, he thinks it'll seem childish. She says that this is her princess moment, and who cares what other people think? She wants the horse and carriage, the giant ball gown, centerpieces that are artistically done with pumpkins and so much more. Is she being unreasonable since it's not what he wants? Jae has a chance to win $300! All she has to do is answer more pop culture questions than Raven in Can't Beat Raven!

If you've ever struggled with letting go of sentimental items after loss, I hope today's episode gives you both validation and encouragement. I talk with Krista St. Germain of the Widowed Moms Podcast, who lost her husband to a drunk driver, and we explore the emotional weight of decluttering a loved one's belongings. You'll hear: • mindset shifts around grief • what it means to let go in a way that "feels like love" • why there's no one-size-fits-all approach to releasing sentimental items This comforting conversation offers gentle guidance for decluttering when space is limited or when keeping certain items no longer feels supportive for your wellbeing. Pastor Rebecca knew she was walking a fine line by comparing our relationship with God to our animals' relationship with us. But the longer she thought about it, the more it seemed worth considering…
Pastor Vince is basic...but so is everyone else! We are merely human- that's the bad news. The good news is: merely human means being filled with the glory of God.
Do you remember the rich young ruler who came to Jesus and asked what he'd need to do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus told him: you know, just sell everything you have, give it to the poor, and follow me? And then how he went away sad? This sermon is not about that.
Have you ever noticed how alive you feel when you step outside—whether it's sunlight on your face, the sound of birds, or the earth beneath your bare feet?
We're so glad Pastor Vince is back with us and feeling better! Starting with a humorous anecdote, his sermon preaches on the nature of suffering, and how as Christians, we find belonging when we can listen and respond to it.

Have you ever noticed how life hands you gifts you never expected—especially in the middle of change? This season of transition has brought me community, peace, freedom, confidence, and support in ways I couldn't have planned. From friends stepping in to carry forward Santa Fe Hive, to the quiet liberation of letting go of almost everything we own, I'm discovering that life has a way of surprising us with beauty when we create space for it.One truth that keeps coming back to me is this: courage comes before confidence. Every step into the unknown requires courage first—and only then do we grow into new levels of confidence. This episode is an invitation to pause, notice, and honor the unexpected gifts unfolding in your own life. What blessings have surprised you lately?
What would it take for you to give away something valuable — not because you had to, but because your soul said it was time? This episode reveals the emotional and spiritual journey behind one of the boldest acts of trust I've made: giving away thousands of dollars' worth of belongings before our move to Bali. Not selling. Not storing. Just releasing — with open hands and an open heart. And in that surrender, something unexpected came in: lightness, clarity, peace. If you've ever felt stuck in indecision, afraid to let go, or caught in the trap of “just in case,” this episode is a mirror, a nudge, and an invitation.“Sometimes the most valuable thing isn't what we keep, it's what we're willing to release.”Looking for more reflection on the power of release? If you've listened to this podcast for a while or reading my posts, you've probably heard me mention that Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world—and that's absolutely true in many ways. Violent crime is incredibly rare, and the sense of community and trust is deeply woven into Icelandic society. But today, we need to talk about a growing concern—something that's caught many tourists off guard: a rise in pickpocketing incidents, particularly in the south of Iceland, including well-traveled areas like Reykjavík, Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss, and even inside churches like Hallgrímskirkja. Iceland is Still Safe? Let me be clear: Iceland remains a safe place to travel. But just like anywhere that attracts large numbers of tourists, it's not immune to the realities of opportunistic crime. And recently, we've seen a sharp increase in reports of pickpocketing—specifically targeting visitors at popular natural landmarks.Police in South Iceland have been investigating what appears to be a well-organised group—possibly ten individuals—who are blending into crowds at major tourist sites. These aren't random thieves. According to local authorities and park rangers, they use a highly coordinated strategy, working in teams to distract and steal from unsuspecting tourists. How the Pickpockets Operate in Iceland Let's take the geyser Strokkur in the Haukadalur Valley. When it erupts, hundreds of people gather to witness the spectacle—it's loud, dramatic, and absolutely worth seeing. But as your eyes are glued to the steam and water shooting into the sky, pickpockets might be watching you. They blend into the crowd, posing as fellow tourists. Some act as lookouts, some distract by chatting or even offering to take photos, and others use the distraction to reach into backpacks, pockets, or crossbody bags.Stolen items—mostly cash in euros, dollars, pounds, or krónur—are passed quickly to accomplices, making it hard to trace who took what. And this isn't just happening at Strokkur. Similar reports have come from Gullfoss, Þingvellir, and even Reykjavík's iconic Hallgrímskirkja church. In fact, the church recently posted warning signs at its entrance after a string of thefts occurred inside during visiting hours. Prevention Tips – Simple, Smart, Effective So, what can you do to avoid being targeted? Here are some practical, simple things you can do to stay safe:Use anti-theft bags. Look for ones with lockable zippers, cut-proof straps, and compartments that rest against your body.Keep valuables close. A money belt worn under your clothing is ideal for passports, IDs, and cash.Stay aware. If someone approaches you offering help, conversation, or to take your photo—especially in a crowded space—be friendly but cautious.Avoid back pockets. Never store your wallet or phone in a back pocket. It's just too easy to snatch.Limit what you carry. Only take what you'll need for the day—leave extra cards, cash, and your passport locked up at your accommodation.Be mindful in crowds. Places like Strokkur, Geysir, and the viewing platforms at Þingvellir draw hundreds of people. These moments of awe are unfortunately prime time for thieves. And one more thing: if the worst does happen and you are robbed, call 112—Iceland's emergency services number. Also, make sure you have digital copies of your documents in a secure, password-protected folder, ideally emailed to yourself or saved in cloud storage. When & Where PickPocket Groups Strike the Most According to park rangers and local authorities, these organised pickpocket groups tend to appear in February, March, and July—timing their activities around peak tourism periods. They often arrive early in the morning, scout areas like Þingvellir's Hakið viewpoint above the Almannagjá gorge, and move on from site to site in a very methodical way. This isn't just some random occurrence—it's a planned...
