Helping others is a fundamental command from God that brings blessing to both the giver and the receiver. God calls every believer to act generously, not only with money, but with time, wisdom, and spiritual guidance. Obedience to this command aligns your life with His Word and ensures that His blessings flow in your own life as you sow into the lives of others. Generosity is not optional—it is a spiritual principle that produces both earthly and eternal results.God makes it clear that doing good and sharing with others pleases Him, and ignoring those in need carries consequences. Hebrews 13:16 tells us to not forget to do good and to share, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Proverbs 21:13 warns that shutting your ears to the cries of the poor results in unanswered prayers, while Proverbs 28:27 promises that those who give will lack nothing. When you lend to the Lord by helping others, you participate in His provision, trusting His promises to repay what you have generously shared.Helping others is not limited to financial support; it includes mentoring, teaching, guiding, and sharing biblical wisdom. You may encounter someone in debt, struggling with life decisions, or spiritually unaware, and your role is to equip them with tools for success and growth in Christ. Sharing the gospel, discipling converts, and walking alongside believers as they grow in faith is part of this command. Matthew 28:19-20 reminds us to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey everything God has commanded, which includes helping those who are less fortunate spiritually, emotionally, or materially.Generosity cultivates faith and obedience, opening doors for God's blessings in your life. Psalms 34:10 declares that God provides for those who follow Him faithfully, and Proverbs 19:17 confirms that giving to the poor is equivalent to lending to the Lord. When believers serve others, they demonstrate Christ's love, enforce spiritual victory, and stir up the faith within themselves and those they serve. This is the principle of sowing and reaping: what you invest in others will return to you in God's timing and according to His perfect wisdom.Living under God's commands ensures that blessings flow and curses are avoided. Proverbs 28:9 warns that turning a deaf ear to God's instruction makes even your prayers detestable, emphasizing that obedience is essential to experiencing His favor. By helping others faithfully, you position yourself under the flow of God's provision and align your life with His promises. In the wake of the brutal killing of Iryna Zarutska, the assassination of Charlie Kirk, another school shooting, and the ambush and murder of three law enforcement officers in York, PA, this episode poses two questions to all of us: are we being conformed to the world's patterns or seeking the Jesus and the full meaasure of the Word to be transformed by the renewing of our mind? And how do we reflect Christ to this broken world, and renew our minds in times of chaos and conflict? In the wake of tragedy, are we conformed to the world or transformed by Jesus to reflect Him to our broken world? The five points that I pray you'll take away from this episode - and that point you back to Jesus above all: 1. As believers, our only identity is Child of God. Galatians 3:24-28, 1 John 3:1 2. Every human is an image-bearer of God for whom Christ died, and we are instructed to love even those who oppose us and Jesus, and choose not to follow Him. Our job is to share the gospel, and it is the Lord's authority to save, judge, and discipline. Genesis 1:26-27, Matthew 28:19-20, 1 John 2:2, 1 Timothy 2:4-6 3. We are His ambassadors, and our businesses are a place where we encounter those who experience Jesus as we reflect Him. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21, Matthew 5:14-16 4. Let us consume the full Word, not just highlights or snippets, and use our amazing brains to do the same with news. Romans 12:2, Romans 10:17 5. Above all, seek Him first in everything. Before you read, listen, respond, react, and interact. The common world doesn't understand why this is necessary, but the children of God are not common! I forgot to give the context of Hebrews 6:4-6: The author is speaking specifically to the Hebrew people, who are at the time having trouble accepting Jesus as the only way to heaven ( which you can read about throughout the book of Acts), so the writer needs to address this specific issue with them and give a different approach. That's why Hebrews might be a difficult book for us ( gentiles) to understand. The author through the majority of the book focuses one only one sin- not accepting Jesus as Savior. That context is very important to understand chapter 6.
