Welcome to the Fireside. Harkening back to the days of yesteryear, Mike Sulick and Kevin Greene will be taking you fireside for soothing chats about design, but most likely other things. Follow us and stay tuned for updates and episode drops. Fireside. Alright.
On this episode we discuss the new year, intentions versus resolutions, routines, engaged reading, and imagining fiction.
In this episode, we apologize for being late while apologizing for being late for posting this episode about our adventures in Creative South. Tune in as we discuss what makes a good design conference.
On this episode, we discuss ADHD... and uhhm.. what was I just saying? Oh yeah, we also discuss new hobbies that are not design.
On this episode, we air all the pent up grievances that have been festering inside our tight little bodies for the last decade. Definitely not for the kids, No kids allowed. Kids go home. We also discuss design trends and something else about inspiration, idk.
On this episode, we discuss texting semantics, woodworking, canceled flights, and personal eras of design. We also purchase movie tickets live on the show.
On this episode we discuss dog park drama, Sulick's new site, beard maintenance, and projects you know deep in your soul that you should turn down and how to do so. We also discuss Burger King's rebrand, the structural integrity and brand equity of the Dairy Queen Blizzard® flip, Snapple's new Durex logo, and the former Mister Potato Head.
On this episode we discuss crypto, NFTs, and meme stocks. Our two half-educated opinions become one full opinion.
Wow. Does this thing still work? Here we are— EPISODE 29. We recorded this episode in Sept 2020. We discuss life changes and look back on the early days of COVID lockdown (which was 6 months prior to recording this and a full year from me typing this, but whatever). We also promise another episode within a week or two. Seriously.
On this episode, Sulick goes on a 30 minute conspiracy rant about Rilakkuma. We also discuss some design stuff and how we're doing ~2 months into quarantine.
One month into quarantine, we join forces on Episode 27 to discuss lockdown habits, time no longer mattering, WHO's call for poster entries, Hand-Eye Supply's safety posters, Mario Kart qualms, quarantine meals, video game remakes, daily design challenges, and black and white dreams.
On this episode, recorded on Halloween 2019, WHEN THE WORLD WAS SOMEWHAT OKAY, we discuss Sulick's trip to Saskatchewan, cults, Halloween candy, ugly people, grilled grapes, and some design stuff.
On this episode, we discuss 2020 plans, Kevin shoots beer out of his nose, and Sulick discusses designing the same phrases over and over again.
On this episode, two local idiots describe their plans to bring back murder, why there are no more heroes, and why you should be able to drink and drive.
On this episode, the hive mind takes over and we realize we have a ton of shared memories from the early 90s. We discuss side projects unlike what we normally work on.
On this episode, we discuss railroads, poo, Cleveland, side projects, and panic attacks amongst some other unpopular opinions.
We attended the Social Good event at Wix Playground where students of the 3-month design residency unveiled their newly redesigned websites for nonprofit organizations. We were blown away by the work they presented. We sat down with Vuong and Rona, who run the Wix Playground. We also spoke with Jenn of Adaptive Design and Natalia and Soyoung, the two students that designed their new site. For more information and to apply for the Summer 2020 program, visit www.wix.com/playground/program.
On Episode 20 we realize that we discuss design 20% of the time and talk nonsense for the other 80%. That's okay because this episode covers morning routines, our work processes, ground yourself back into design, logo design, and the upcoming Wix Design Playground event.
