Avengers Doomsday & Avengers Secret Wars Concept Art Leaks Have Plagued The Internet...shortly before the premiere of Daredevil Born Again. But is all this hype a good thing, or is the leak culture hurting the MCU more than helping? Greg Alba and Coy Jandreau break down the pros and cons of leaks, how they shape audience expectations, and whether Doomsday can live up to the crazy rumors. THANKS TO HUEL: Visit https://huel.com/rejects to get 15% off your order We also discuss the Andor Season 2 release strategy, Scream 7 casting updates—including David Arquette's return—Vin Diesel's potential I Am Groot movie, and the status of The Last of Us 3. Plus, a deeper look at Marvel's struggles to maintain fan excitement, comparisons to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and whether Doomsday could make or break the MCU. DON'T READ FURTHER IF YOU WISH TO AVOID SPOILERS: The leaks for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars have sent shockwaves through the MCU fandom, hinting at Doctor Doom's reign over Battleworld, multiversal chaos, and some massive character returns. One of the most jaw-dropping pieces of concept art shows Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, ruling from a medieval-style throne with Sheriff Strange (an evil Doctor Strange variant), Yelena Belova, and Sue Storm as his queen. Other images depict Bucky Barnes in chains, Star-Lord hanging out with White Vision, and a new Black Panther in a WWII setting, rumored to be played by Damson Idris. We also see the rise of the Young Avengers, featuring Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, Wiccan, and Speed, alongside Wong and Doop, hinting at an underground multiversal resistance. The Hulk village of Greenland, where Skaar appears mortally wounded, adds to the multiversal patchwork. Confirmed & Rumored MCU Projects Mentioned: Avengers: Doomsday (2026), Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), Fantastic Four (2025), Shang-Chi 2 (TBD), X-Men (TBD), Spider-Man 4 (TBD), Doctor Strange 3 (TBD) THANKS TO SHOPIFY: Start your online business with a $1 per-month trial when you visit https://www.shopify.com/rejects! Daredevil is not the only Netflix series confirmed now as MCU canon - the entire Defenders saga can be seen within the MCU Timeline on Disney+. This is a big deal for fans of the Netflix shows who have called for them to be canonized for years. The Defenders shows fit into the timeline starting with Daredevil after I Am Groot and ending with The Punisher before Doctor Strange. There's also a rumor Deborah Ann Wolf and Elden Hansen are set to return as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson in Daredevil: Born Again. Trekkies will soon see their favorite franchise back on the big screen with director Toby Haynes on the bridge in the captain's chair. Haynes recently directed several episodes of the Star Wars hit show Andor. With Seth Grahame-Smith writing and JJ Abrams' Bad Robot producing, it has been 8 years since the last Star Trek movie - though this one is to take place decades before the 2009 Star Trek movie plot. Paramount has had recent Star Trek success in the television world, streaming Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks, Picard, and Discovery. Though this prequel may not show the Chris Pine-led cast we are used to seeing, there are still plans to have a final movie with that crew in the future. We keep talking about Tom Cruise and now for an even bigger announcement…a Top Gun 3 movie is officially in development to bring back that loving feeling. Top Gun: Maverick writer Ethan Kruger is already writing for the new installment and sources report director Joe Kosinski will also be back to pilot the film. This news comes to us shortly after the partnership announced with Cruise and Warner Bros. Discovery. Top Gun: Maverick raked in an astounding $1.5 billion in 2022 and Cruise looks like he's willing to continue the legacy with a third film. Rumors are flying that DC Studios will begin their search for a Supergirl actress soon. In the mix for frontrunners we have Milly Aycock of house of the dragon, Emilia Jones from Coda and Locke and Key, and Meg Donnelly of the Zombies franchise and DC Animation where she plays supergirl. James Gunn and Peter Safran announced the Supergirl, Woman of Tomorrow movie in 2022 based on the comics by Tom King. Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, the director and writer of the 2002 zombie horror film 28 Days Later, are reuniting for 28 Years Later, a sequel to the original. The pair are hoping to launch a trilogy of films set in the universe. Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss opened up for the first time about their canceled Star Wars movie in the cover story for last week's Hollywood Reporter, stating that the concept for their film dealt with the rise of the first Jedi and how the Jedi Order came to be. The Last of Us Season 2 has cast Beef star Young Mazino as Jesse. The series is expected to start production soon. Isabela Merced has also been cast as Dina. Barbie and Shang-Chi star Simu Liu will host the 2024 People's Choice Awards which will air live on NBC, E!, and Peacock on February 18. Director David Gordon Green, who was initially set to direct a sequel to last year's Exorcist: Believer titled Exorcist: Deceiver, has exited the project. Universal originally planned for the film to hit theaters on April 18, 2025, but the timetable is now unclear as the studio searches for a new director. Noah Hawley, the showrunner of the upcoming FX series "Alien," revealed in an interview that the series is set on Earth approximately 70 years in the future, preceding the events of the original film series. Despite discussions with Ridley Scott, Hawley explained that he won't incorporate the backstory from "Prometheus" and "Alien: Covenant" into his series, expressing a preference for the original films' retro-futuristic technology over the more advanced tech featured in the prequels.

In this week's episode, Matt & Alex do a double feature and talk about the second season of I Am Groot on Disney+ and the fourth season of Harley Quinn on Max. Matt remembers all the times he bought illegal black market items from his local ice cream man, Alex wants DC to sell Alfred Pennyworth's prison wine, and they both had no idea they'd know the secrets to becoming expert pasta makers after watching a single 20 minute episode of television. Matt and Jay return; after catching up, they dig into some Star Wars. But first they start with the Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom trailer, the troubles with Disney right now, and the disappointing box office returns of 2023. They shift to Star Wars with the news that Lando will be a movie, early thoughts on Ahsoka, the need to understand Star Wars with secondary media (books, cartoons, video games), and the convoluted timeline. They finish with homework, including Champions, Our Friend, The Evil Dead, I Am Groot, Sinister, Faithless, Batman and Robin, and All Of The Marvels. The Superhero Show Show #497Who is Lois Lane's Father on the My Adventures With Superman Finale? On an all-new, all-different episode of The Superhero Show Show, Mike and Katelynn are on the road, so it's a classic Cassie and Ryan messaround. And they have no choice but to send Superman off in style with their favorite kind of Thanksgiving episodes, one that comes out in September! It's time for dinner at the Kent house, and everyone is coming over, including Papa Lane. This is going to be a heck of a thanks-fest!Will the My Adventures With Superman Finale be the Last Episode of the Series? We don't know that yet, but we do know that some of those pesky Kryptonian robots are showing up to ruin the day in the finale. Will they finally complete their mission of wiping out Clark and everyone he loves? Will we find out who is behind everything? And where is Task Force X? Tune in (and toon in!) to find out! What Else Did the Taste Buds Watch Aside From the My Adventures With Superman Finale? Then, the Taste Buds discuss every other show that came out this week, including the second and third episodes of One Piece. They also rank every episode of the second season of I Am Groot, and get in a lot of clone talk when they review the penultimate episode of Harley Quinn's fourth season. That's more than enough show, right?WRONG! The Friends also fly down to S-TASmania for the first serialized episode of Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Essentially picking up where the second episode left off, the third episode finds the Kingping already cashing in with the younger Smythe on his deal to capture Spider-Man, and homey wasted no time in building some pretty hefty robots. If the first two episodes were a little staid, at least compared to XTAS, this is the episode where things get - as Cassie put it - buck. All of that, and so much more, on an all-new episode of The Superhero Show Show!TV EPISODES AND FILMS DISCUSSED:HARLEY QUINN #408: POTATO BASED CLONING INCIDENTWatch Harley Quinn on MAX here!Ivy takes part in a celebrity golf tournament in order to stop Lex; Harley discovers a dark truth about herself.MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN #110: HEARTS OF THE FATHERSWatch My Adventures With Superman on MAX here! It's Thanksgiving, and Clark, Lois, and Jimmy are heading to the Kent farm to celebrate - but the holiday turns into a fight for survival as Task Force X, family, and KRYPTONITE collide.ONE PIECE #102Watch One Piece on Netflix here!Luffy, Zoro, and Nami find themselves imprisoned on an island overtaken by the deranged clown pirate, Buggy. Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of September 8, 2023. The third chapter of the "Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" trilogy is just ho-hum, while the surprisingly emotional and funny movie called "Sitting in Bars with Cakes" might be the best thing Andy watched this week. Also in theaters but not screened by critics, "The Nun II" promises to bring more scares in the form of a nun. On streaming platforms, this week: Season 4 of "Star Trek: Lower Decks" continues the hilarious adventures of the normally forgotten crew members who make the starship run on the Paramount Plus platform. Disney Plus's season 2 of the animated Marvel shorts' "I Am Groot" put the adorable baby Groot into more adorable situations. And over on Apple TV Plus, a new series called "The Changeling" promises a "fairy-tale for grownups." Beyond Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming, and Tech, the brains behind Fan Effect are connoisseurs of categories surpassing the nerdy. Brilliant opinions and commentary on all things geek, but surprising knowledge and witty arguments over pop culture, Star Trek, MARVEL vs. DC, and a wide range of movies, TV shows, and more. We had some big gaming news over the last week between EVO 2023 and Pokémon Presents, thus giving us something to feast on before Gamescon. Meanwhile there has been a lot of movement out of Hollywood, not necessarily on the strike front, but news nonetheless. Barbie made a billion in under 20 days, Disney+ is following in Netflix's footsteps, and while Max is pulling a pandemic Netflix. Lin Manuel Miranda wants to adapt a classic for the stage, and Pixar isn't worried about the future. We cap off the show with the best movies from the 1970s.
Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes We've discussed Fantastic Four casting rumors at length, but even if not 100 percent confirmed, the latest batch seems to be the most credible and likely so far, with Vanessa Kirby reportedly cast as the MCU's Sue Storm. Additionally, Matt Smith has emerged as an apparent frontrunner for Reed Richards, and Stranger Things' Joseph Quinn is being eyed for Johnny Storm. The Bear's Ebon Moss-Bachrach has also been offered a role, as well as Jack Quaid joining the film although not as one of the Four. Lastly, it's rumored that Antonio Banderas has been offered the role to voice Galactus who will evidently feature prominently in the film. In an interview with Comicbook.com, Gal Gadot spoke hopefully on her future as Wonder Woman saying “I love portraying Wonder Woman. It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James [Gunn] and from Peter [Safran]...we're gonna develop a ‘Wonder Woman 3' together.” It was another promising weekend at the box office, as Barbie officially broke $1 billion worldwide! Despite passing this benchmark, there are currently no plans or deals in place for a sequel with Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie or Ryan Gosling. Elsewhere, Oppenheimer continued to hold strong crossing the $550 million mark, and newcomers The Meg 2 and TMNT: Mutant Mayhem enjoyed respectable debut outings. The Haunted Mansion reboot, conversely, fell another 63 percent in its second weekend after an already hauntingly slow start. Happy Death Day and Freaky director Christopher Landon has been tapped by Spyglass to direct the upcoming horror film Scream 7. The prosecution in the Jonathan Majors domestic violence case requested the trial date be pushed back. A new trial date has been set for September 6th. A second season of I Am Groot was announced this weekend. Five new short installments of the Marvel series will come to Disney+ on September 6th. Netflix has released a first look at Spy Kids: Armageddon, the reboot of the Spy Kids franchise from Robert Rodriguez. The film, which stars Zachary Levi and Gina Rodriguez, is set to debut on September 22nd. According to Forbes, Disney revealed they spent $143 million on the budget for Loki season 2 putting it above several MCU movies, but it also has a marginally smaller budget than their latest series, Secret Invasion with it's budget reportedly ballooning up to $212 million. Rumor has it the planned Hunchback of Notre Dame live action remake has been scrapped by Disney. According to Deadline, in the wake of Mattel's success with Barbie, Crayola launched its own studio to develop a range of children's TV shows and movies. Hasbro is also reported to have plans for Monopoly and Play-Doh films. Visual effects (VFX) crews at Marvel Studios have voted to unionize, as announced by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). Director William Friedkin, best known for his Oscar-winning “The French Connection” and blockbuster “The Exorcist,” died Monday in Los Angeles. He was 87. “The Incredible Hulk” director Louis Leterrier revealed there were plans for a potential sequel that included “Grey Hulk and Red Hulks”. Longtime DC storyboard artist, Jay Oliva described Ben Affleck's scrapped Batman flick as quote:“f-ing awesome” and was building off of storylines in the Batman mythos over the last 80 years. David Ayer says James Gunn told him the ‘Suicide Squad' Ayer Cut ‘Would have its time to be shared' A24 has greenlit a sequel to “Talk to Me,” with directors Danny and Michael Philippou set to return

We're officially only one hundred episodes away from TWO THOUSAND (numbered) episodes! Time flies when you're talking about comics, I must say. Spoilers abound, as Chris, Shane, Ben, Murd and Ian traverse space, Zune in hand, for what could potentially be the Guardians last ride. How did The High Evolutionary land as a villain? Are Mantis and Drax the best comedy duo in the MCU? Is Cosmo good dog? Will Peter Quill ever get his act together enough to be Star-Lord? What about Gamora and Nebula, can these two sisters get along? Did Adam Warlock stack up to expectations? Was there crying over Rocket Raccoon's backstory?
