In this episode, we're getting back to a BIG conversation....big moves! Big AUDACIOUS moves! Like, stepping into a version of you who doesn't wait to feel ready, doesn't ask for permission, & doesn't overthink if it will work… you just MOOOVE. And that's how things start moving with you. When I really look back at my life, every major shift came from that type of audacity. NOT from certainty. NOT from having it all figured out before I dove in. Just from going and being brave. I had so much fun recording this episode and reminiscing. This episode is really about that shift - choosing the version of you who just goes for it, even while fear is still very much present. Because spoiler: fear doesn't go away. You just stop letting it be in charge!! May is AUDACITY MONTH in Dreamaway. (Schedule below) ⭐️ Join us in the premier Dreamaway Membership for so many resources including 40+ Dreamaway-exclusive tapping sessions (90 minutes of deep-dive subconscious rewiring/EFT tapping), visualizations, 40+ tapping "Money Dates" (abundance programming), daily tapping videos, weekly energy readings, astrological updates, and so much more! https://haleyhoffmansmith.com/dreamaway @dreamawaymembership on IG Try a Taste of Dreamaway for FREE: https://www.haleyhoffmansmithprograms.com/offers/y5bMkDqb/checkout Order my book, You Have the Magic: https://youhavethemagic.com/ @haleyhoffmansmith on IG/TikTok 90 MIN SESH: AUDACITY. SATURDAY, MAY 23RD 11AM-12:30PM ET. MEOW!!! This session is a full reset around how boldly you show up to your life and those BIG DREAMS. We're clearing the hesitation, self-doubt, overthinking, and that subtle feeling of "am I allowed to do this?" at the root. Because it's NOT a lack of ambition - you know what you want!!!… it's a lack of permission & full throttle confidence to do the bold, WOW thing. We'll install a new baseline where boldness feels natural, action feels exciting, and going after what you want feels like a given…like, shut your laptop, and you're off to the races! Time to send that cold email, promote yourself boldly, make the ask, share the thing, and put yourself fully in the running.
I’m getting OLD.
Well, it was time to host the second “Say The Thing” of 2026. We had a strong card of about 20 readers of poetry, stories, and essays at MEOW — and as the host and MC I decided to read a couple of new poems as part of my intro to the event — that way no one feels they're being forced to go first; our ‘first' real reader of the night can technically say they went second. The ice is broken. That's the idea.Anyway, above you'll hear the audio of two poems I wrote this week, and shared here recently. The brand new Olfactory: And the almost brand new ode to mixtapes, C-90:So if you'd like to read the text instead, or along with the audio it's there above in both cases. Hope you enjoy.Such a great night. Wonderful turnout for Say The Thing: Come along next month if you're in Wellington. Last Wednesday in May, 7.30pm at MEOW, sign up on the night from 7pm. All Home Care Matters and our host, Lance A. Slatton were honored to welcome Carol Steinberg as guest to the show. About Carol Steinberg: Carol Steinberg is an accomplished writer and editor and a former award-winning journalist who contributed regularly to The New York Times, Success magazine, and other publications. She left journalism mid-career to serve for 15 years as an executive at local and national nonprofit organizations focused on Alzheimer's disease—a way of giving back after her father died as a result of the disease. Now semi-retired, she continues her involvement in the Alzheimer's community by writing the bimonthly newsletter for Voices of Alzheimer's as well as blogs on the topic, and appearing on podcasts and other media to discuss various aspects of the disease. Based on her family's experience and her knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, Carol is the author of a new children's book—"Come Grandpa Meow, Let's Fly." The book uniquely features a heartfelt story about Alzheimer's plus a collection of intergenerational activities. It has been recognized by AlzAuthors as a valuable resource for caregivers and by Ella's Way for demonstrating the power of kindness. About "Come Grandpa Meow, Let's Fly": "Come Grandpa Meow, Let's Fly: A Heartfelt Children's Story About Alzheimer's Disease Plus a Guide to Intergenerational Activities" takes a unique approach to helping families navigate Alzheimer's disease or other related brain disorders. It features a tender children's story that explains the disease in age-appropriate language, designed to help young children understand the changes in a loved one and to alleviate fear and confusion. The story is uniquely complemented by a collection of empowering intergenerational activities, such as gardening and music, which respond to the question, "Now what?"—How can we foster a loving and respectful bond? Author Carol Steinberg taps into her family's journey and extensive professional experience with Alzheimer's to realistically portray the disease and offer understanding and compassion to a condition that is often stigmatized. As the author notes, "In the face of this devastating disease, we are all looking for that 'moment'—a twinkle of joy, laughter, connection, or remembrance." Accompanied by illustrator Chelsea Cooper's beautiful watercolor artwork, "Come Grandpa Meow, Let's Fly" tells the story of Lynnie, a young girl who cherishes spending time with her grandfather. When Grandpa Meow begins to struggle with their familiar activities and forgets who his granddaughter is, Lynnie's mom sensitively explains that Grandpa Meow has Alzheimer's. The conversation includes a powerful message: "We can try to help him remember how much we love him." Lynnie takes these words to heart and figures out how to strengthen their bond in a new way, relying on a song Grandpa Meow always sang to her as she flew through the air on a swing. "Come Grandpa Meow, Let's Fly" has been recognized by AlzAuthors as a valuable resource for caregivers and by Ella's Way for demonstrating the power of kindness. Experts have called the book "stigma-busting," "well-crafted and poignant," and a "practical tool for meaningful conversations." A portion of each sale benefits the VoA Foundation, the educational arm of Voices of Alzheimer's.

In this episode of "Normal World," Dave Landau is joined by Angela and guest cohost Mike Imbasciani, filling in for 1/4 Black Garrett. The panel begins with a look at a Spirit Airlines flight that came uncomfortably close to Air Force One, riffing on distracted pilots and the airline's downplayed response to the incident. The tone turns serious as the team revisits the Charlie Kirk assassination, breaking down the suspect's court appearance, unusual text exchanges, and the broader debate over punishment. Along the way, they lampoon the now infamous “suicide smock” and question how justice should ultimately be served. Politics dominate the middle stretch, with pointed commentary on Kash Patel's remarks, including his charge that Adam Schiff is “the biggest fraud to ever sit in the United States Senate.” The discussion broadens to Jerry Nadler's missteps, Hasan Piker's rhetoric, and wider questions about violent protest, cultural decline, and whether America can recover a shared sense of direction. Later, the hosts turn to Elizabeth Warren's public persona and Democratic theatrics before closing on a lighter note with a live performance from Mike Imbasciani. Today's guests on "Normal World" are Kevin Kramis and Adam Johnson.SponsorsSome bourbons chase trends. Flying Ace chases legacy. Buy online at flyingacespirits.com — use code BLAZE for free shipping.
