Have you ever wondered what Katoki, Takahashi and Asano were thinking as they made Sentinel? What were their influences? What did they think of the world of Gundam? And what is Stream Base and why is it so important to the world of Gundam? This episode will delve in and try to answer these burning questions. Gundam Sentinel delved into various themes including what defines sentience. A.L.I.C.E. is the AI that was developed and incorporated by the EFF into the design of Superior Gundam. Recent developments in machine learning are available on cell phones and personal computers including machine learning. Now, consumers can access large language models (or LLMs) for free including programs such as ChatGPT-3 by Open Ai. Another Gundam podcast I enjoy is Colony Drop. A few months ago, they had an episode that examined story ideas for Gundam using ChatGPT-3. Naturally, I decided to give it a try for stories that revolve around Gundam Sentinel. This episode covers the short manga story by Kondoh san featuring the immortal Frederick Braun. This story is set in UC 0079 in the waning days of the One Year War. Zeon forces are preparing for a special operation deep in Solomon. Braun was ordered to complete this desperate mission, but will he be able to complete it? Or will he meet his own nightmare at Solomon/ソロモンの悪夢 (sorry I had to do it)? The Wow Cool Robot podcast inspired me to make this episode. Gundam Sentinel is my all-time favorite Gundam side story so it only makes sense to do an episode devoted to my ranking of the mobile suits designed by Katoki san and others. Let's talk about this side story. I want to give my final thoughts after covering all of the chapters and answer any questions you guys might have. I have gotten some already from listeners out there and hope you can email with any questions you want me to include in the series finale. The idea for this epilogue was something I got from Twitter when I posted a poll and the majority of respondents said they wanted this to be broken down into two parts. Welcome to the Gundam Sentinel Podcast. This will be a limited run series that will put a spotlight on the side story created by Japanese magazine Hobby Japan in the late 1980s. Gundam Sentinel is a side story set in the Universal Century timeline of Mobile Suit Gundam between the events of Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam. We will examine the various plot points and various innovations that would be seen in later movies and OAVs. Disclaimer: This podcast is very much in the weeds and meant for fans of the Universal Century timeline of Mobile Suit Gundam. Also, if you have not watched shows like Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Char's Counterattack, or Gundam Unicorn then at least some of what will be covered in this podcast will be a spoiler. So be warned…
