En Las mañanas de RNE, hablamos con Francesca Albanese, relatora especial de la ONU para los territorios palestinos ocupados, y Pascale Coissard, coordinadora de emergencias en Gaza de Médicos Sin Fronteras (MSF). Coissard explica que, tras regresar a Gaza, ha encontrado "más miedo, más hambre, más desamparo, más lutos y más indiferencia del resto del mundo". La coordinadora de emergencias cuenta que, por el momento, no se han visto los camiones cuyo paso ha permitido Israel de manera temporal: "No ha entrado nada en Gaza durante las últimas semanas. Es un paso temporal ridículo. Nos enfrentamos a una hambruna generalizada. Algunos niños y mujeres lactantes está sufriendo muchísimo. También los pacientes en recuperación por los bombardeos". Coissard cuenta que también escasean los medicamentos y el material sanitario, que no está entrando: "Estamos viviendo con las pocas raciones de combustible que quedan. Si no hay combustible, no hay hospitales". Se acerca el verano, denuncia Coissard, y con el calor "será necesaria mucha más agua". "La ayuda en Gaza continúa siendo instrumentalizada y se utiliza para cubrir una política de privaciones masivas", reflexiona la coordinadora de emergencias.Francesca Albanese entiende que los palestinos se puedan sentir abandonados pero cree que "hay mucha gente que continúa protestando" y la comunidad internacional no se ha olvidado de la población gazatí. Albanese habla de genocidio: "Tenemos la obligación política y moral de decir 'ya está' y pararlo. Activando los gobiernos, transformando las palabras en actos". The civil defence agency in Gaza says the Israeli military has killed almost one-hundred people in the past twelve hours in another intense wave of strikes in the north. The medical humanitarian charity, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, says its hospital in Old Fangak Town in South Sudan's Jonglei State's Fangak County was bombed by SSPDF planes in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Deux mois de blocus humanitaire à Gaza, deux mois qu'Israël empêche d'entrer les camions de nourriture, d'eau, de médicaments et d'autres produits de première nécessité, dans un territoire déjà dans une situation catastrophique pour les habitants. L'Organisation mondiale de la santé a qualifié « d'abomination » la situation dans le territoire palestinien, exprimant sa colère face à l'inaction pour secourir sa population. Entretien avec Rony Brauman, ancien président de MSF et directeur d'études au sein du Centre de réflexion sur l'action et les savoirs humanitaires (Crash). Auteur de « Guerres humanitaires ? Mensonges et intox », éditions Textuel.  RFI : La situation est insupportable selon les habitants de Gaza. L'Organisation mondiale de la Santé (OMS) parle d'« abomination ». Aujourd'hui, en plus du blocus et des bombardements, Israël occupe aussi des parties de la bande de Gaza. À quoi ressemble le quotidien des Palestiniens ? Où et comment vivent-ils ? Rony Brauman : Les mots manquent pour décrire le quotidien des Palestiniens. L'attentat terroriste du 7-Octobre impliquait une riposte de la part d'Israël. Personne ne conteste cette évidence, mais la disproportion, la cruauté, la férocité avec laquelle cette punition collective a été abattue par les Israéliens sur la population de Gaza, cela laisse sans voix. Gaza était déjà sous blocus, mais finalement, l'aide humanitaire, sous la pression, avait fini par entrer. Dans des quantités limitées mais qui avaient permis des choses. Puis la trêve avait permis de constituer des stocks, avait été un véritable répit pour les Palestiniens pendant quelques semaines, durant sept ou huit semaines. Aujourd'hui, c'est à nouveau l'abomination, l'enfer qui s'abat sur les Palestiniens. Toutes les réserves sont épuisées. On boit de l'eau croupie, de l'eau saumâtre, on ne peut plus s'éclairer parce que les centrales ne sont plus approvisionnées. Il n'y a plus de carburant, plus de farine, plus d'aliments de base. Ce que les Gazaouis avaient réussi à stocker, les commerçants ou les particuliers, tout cela arrive maintenant à épuisement. On est dans une situation de famine organisée dans le cadre d'une guerre qui, aujourd'hui, n'a jamais mieux mérité son nom de guerre génocidaire. Comme pour rajouter à l'infamie, à l'horreur de cette situation, rien n'est fait concrètement de la part des Occidentaux pour que le massacre s'arrête, en dépit de quelques formulations critiques qui ont tardé à être entendues, comme la France appelant à arrêter le massacre. Par exemple, les livraisons d'armes continuent. L'intensité des bombardements, des tirs qu'Israël effectue sur Gaza, n'a jamais été aussi élevée. Il faut bien ravitailler toutes ces munitions, ces drones, ces avions, ces hélicoptères, ces chars qui tirent des missiles, des obus. Sur ce point-là, comment est-ce que vous expliquez que cela dure encore ? Parce que, même si Israël empêche les journalistes d'entrer, on a des images. Il y a eu quelques rares visites, on a des informations grâce aux réseaux sociaux. Pourquoi est-ce que cela dure depuis aussi longtemps ? Notamment les livraisons d'armes que vous mentionniez à l'instant. Cela dure pour deux raisons. D'une part, parce qu'Israël entend saisir l'occasion qui lui est donnée pour se débarrasser définitivement de la question des Palestiniens de Gaza. Au passage, Israël entend aussi accélérer et amplifier, intensifier sa politique de colonisation en Cisjordanie. Il y a quelque chose comme un effet d'aubaine, si vous voulez. Le 7-Octobre est utilisé par les Israéliens pour chasser le plus possible de Palestiniens. D'autre part, le soutien indéfectible des États-Unis. Ce soutien était un peu plus mesuré sous le mandat de Joe Biden, il y avait malgré tout quand même un peu de retenue. Maintenant, sous Donald Trump, il n'y en a absolument plus aucune, puisque c'est Trump qui leur a soufflé la solution de la déportation des Palestiniens de Gaza et l'installation d'une Riviera sur ce littoral. Par ailleurs, l'Europe tolère des transferts de composants d'armement. Certes, on n'envoie pas des obus, des vedettes militaires ou que sais-je, mais on laisse passer des composants électroniques, des composants métalliques utilisés dans la fabrication des missiles, des projectiles qui tuent chaque jour des Palestiniens. Surtout l'Allemagne, mais également d'autres pays. La France n'est pas en tête, mais son rôle est quand même significatif. L'Europe a-t-elle les moyens de faire quelque chose ? Je pense que l'Europe aurait les moyens de faire quelque chose. Car l'Europe est le premier débouché commercial d'Israël. L'Europe a accordé à Israël, en tant que pays démocratique allié, présent dans le bon camp, un accord d'association qui lui donne un statut de quasi-membre de l'Union européenne avec des coopérations culturelles, universitaires, militaires, stratégiques, commerciales, etc. Donc, il y a toutes sortes de moyens d'agir pour signifier à Israël qu'on ne veut pas se rendre complice de ce génocide, de ces atrocités que tout le monde voit et devant lesquelles personne ne fait rien. L'Europe, qui se vante d'être attachée au droit international, au droit humanitaire, ne fait absolument rien sinon envoyer quelques critiques qui ne changent absolument rien à la situation. Pour répondre à votre question, la réponse est simple : oui, l'Europe aurait les moyens de faire quelque chose à condition de le vouloir. Pour l'instant, l'Europe continue de se porter aux côtés d'Israël en continuant de qualifier ce pays de démocratie, alors qu'y règne l'apartheid, la colonisation, la torture légale et aujourd'hui une guerre génocidaire, le blocus imposé aux journalistes. Est-ce que l'on connait d'autres conflits dans lesquels, pendant deux ans, aucun journaliste étranger n'a pu pénétrer, si ce n'est « embedded », embarqué avec l'armée israélienne ? Quelques journalistes ont pu rentrer et visiter le camp de Jabalia, avec interdiction de parler aux réfugiés palestiniens de ce camp qui est le plus grand camp de réfugiés palestiniens de la région. On va visiter ce camp, mais on n'a pas le droit de parler aux gens qui s'y trouvent parce que l'armée israélienne l'interdit. Malgré tout cela, le génocide, l'apartheid, le racisme, la férocité de cette offensive, Israël continue à bénéficier du statut de démocratie, statut qui l'ancre dans le camp occidental et lui permet de bénéficier de la mansuétude, de l'indulgence, voire du soutien d'un certain nombre de pays européens. Le gouvernement israélien a encore dit, vendredi 2 mai, préparer une grande opération à Gaza et mobiliser pour cela des réservistes. Quelle est la stratégie ? Je crois que d'une part, Israël est en train de réoccuper Gaza. Il s'agit de prendre des positions, de découper la bande en plusieurs zones, en trois ou quatre zones. D'autre part, comme l'a dit élégamment, je crois, Smotrich, mais repris par d'autres, il s'agit « d'encourager le départ volontaire des Gazaouis ». Qu'est-ce que ça veut dire, « encourager le départ volontaire » ? Cela veut dire contraindre les gens par la faim et le désespoir à un départ sans espoir de retour, parce qu'il n'y a plus aucun avenir. Les jeunes gens de Gaza, à part le fait de vouloir se venger de ceux qui les ont plongés dans le malheur le plus extrême, ont aussi envie de voir autre chose. Je pense que le plan Trump, qui a été saisi au vol par Benyamin Netanyahu, est en train d'être mis en œuvre. C'est-à-dire vider Gaza de sa population, se livrer à une opération d'épuration, d'évacuation ethnique où l'on va garder quelques dizaines de milliers de personnes, mais évacuer les autres vers l'Égypte, d'autres pays africains, d'autres pays dans le monde. Je ne sais pas comment ils vont faire cela, mais en tout cas, tout semble indiquer qu'ils en prennent le chemin. Ce vendredi 2 mai, l'ONG « Flottille de la liberté » annonce que l'un de ses bateaux humanitaires à destination de Gaza a été visé par un drone israélien au large de Malte, dans les eaux internationales. Pour l'instant, Israël n'a pas réagi mais cela vous paraît-il plausible ? Cela me paraît plausible. Rappelez-vous la flottille Mavi Marmara en 2010 qui avait été attaquée par des commandos israéliens. Il y avait eu quand même dix morts sur une flottille qui était intégralement pacifiste, qui entendait simplement appliquer une pression pour forcer le blocus et livrer des médicaments et des vivres à la population de Gaza. Une opération hautement symbolique, disons de diplomatie humanitaire privée, mais qui n'avait rien d'agressif et qui a fini ainsi. Que cette flottille ait été attaquée par des drones israéliens, de la façon la plus illégale, est un acte de piraterie pure et simple. Je ne sais pas si, factuellement, cela s'est passé ainsi, mais ça me paraît tout à fait plausible. Nelle ultime settimane i media che ne hanno parlato lo hanno fatto soprattutto per ricordare un triste anniversario: sono due anni che in Sudan è scoppiata – o riscoppiata – la guerra civile che ha portato a quella che oggi è la più grande crisi umanitaria al mondo.Un conflitto poco mediatizzato, lontano da noi e – denuncia chi sul posto cerca di aiutare la popolazione civile, vittima di aggressioni e violenze - ormai dimenticato, ignorato. Eppure stiamo parlando di oltre 13 milioni di sfollati – più della metà sono bambini - e quasi 25 milioni di persone a rischio fame.Purtroppo non s'intravvede, nell'immediato futuro, nessuna soluzione negoziale all'orizzonte. Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces THIS WEEK announced the formation of a rival government, two years since the country descended into a brutal war that has left tens of thousands dead and triggered what the United Nations calls the world's worst humanitarian crisis. Since war erupted on 15 April 2023, nearly 13 million people have been displaced and there is no political solution in sight. With Sudan's humanitarian crisis deepening, a donor conference hosted in London on Tuesday saw international partners pledging to ramp up support to help victims in a war that has claimed more than 150,000 lives. After just two months of a shaky ceasefire deal, the Israel Hamas war has restarted. Over the weekend, the United States launched what it called 'powerful and decisive' airstrikes against the Houthis, the Iranian backed rebel group that controls much of Yemen. The Houthis say the death toll so far stands at 53, including two children. American officials said the strikes aimed at the Houthi leadership and came in response to the group's threat to resume strikes on shipping in the Red Sea. But it's not just about Yemen. On Monday afternoon, Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that 'Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, and from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of Iran.'Iran, he said, will be held responsible and suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire. Au Soudan du Sud, les autorités tentent de contrôler l'épidémie de choléra qui dure depuis octobre 2024. Initialement déclarée au Soudan voisin, elle s'est propagée au Soudan du Sud suite à l'arrivée de plus d'un million de personnes fuyant le conflit armé. Le choléra est alors d'abord apparu dans la zone frontalière, puis s'est rapidement propagé sur la quasi-totalité du territoire, avec le retour des rapatriés sud-soudanais dans leurs régions d'origine. De notre correspondante à Juba,À ce jour, 26 811 cas de choléra ont été répertoriés au Soudan du Sud, et 455 personnes sont mortes de la maladie. À Gurei, dans la banlieue ouest de Juba, où l'épidémie de choléra n'est pas encore terminée, jusqu'à huit patients sont admis quotidiennement dans une unité de traitement du choléra gérée par l'ONG Médecins sans frontières, sous une grande tente blanche d'une capacité de dix lits. Vêtus de combinaisons intégrales, les employés en charge de la désinfection pulvérisent de l'eau chlorée sur les semelles des visiteurs, sur le sol et sur les lits. « Le choléra est une maladie causée par une bactérie. Elle se propage par l'eau ou les aliments contaminés, généralement à cause du manque d'hygiène et d'assainissement, explique Guta Epulo, infirmier dans la structure. Une fois que vous avez le choléra, vous commencez à vomir beaucoup et à avoir une diarrhée aqueuse continue. C'est dangereux car vous perdez beaucoup de liquides corporels et pouvez mourir en quelques heures. »Hawati Ajong, 27 ans, et son mari Saber Juma, 33 ans, se désinfectent les mains avant de rentrer chez eux. Hawati est tombée malade la première, elle a été soignée, puis c'est son mari qui a développé les symptômes : « C'était le matin, mon mari allait partir au travail. Il est allé aux toilettes trois ou quatre fois. Et puis il a commencé à vomir, et ensuite, il ne pouvait plus bouger, témoigne-t-elle. C'est lui qui m'avait accompagnée ici quand j'étais malade, il s'est occupé de moi, j'ai su tout de suite qu'il avait attrapé le choléra à son tour. Arrivé très mal en point, en à peine une heure, il est à nouveau capable de se tenir assis, au grand soulagement de sa mère, Sejerina Keji, qui veille sur lui, son bébé de huit mois dans les bras : « Je m'inquiète pour mes autres enfants. Tout ça, c'est à cause de notre environnement qui est sale, dénonce-t-elle. Il faut faire très attention à bien nettoyer la vaisselle, à la laver après l'avoir touchée, la sécher et la couvrir pour éviter que des mouches se posent dessus. »Le personnel médical souligne l'importance d'une prise en charge rapide du choléra, car si les 270 patients soignés ici par MSF ont survécu, neuf personnes sont mortes de la maladie chez elles, dans les quartiers avoisinants, ces dernières semaines. South Sudan is facing another deadly cholera outbreak, with over 24,500 suspected cases and nearly 500 deaths, according to charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Overcrowding, poor sanitation and a lack of clean water are fuelling the crisis, while political instability and logistical challenges hinder the response. With a history of recurring outbreaks and 9 million people in need of aid, experts warn the situation could worsen. Africa Daily's Alan Kasujja speaks to Juba-based journalist Nichola Mandil and Dr. Harriet Akello Pasquale from South Sudan's Ministry of Health.

Jamie speaks with Jean-Guy Vataux, a humanitarian aid worker with MSF who has been in Khartoum and Darfur over the past 18 months. He has been stationed in many conflict areas in Africa and the Middle East over the last 30 years including Sierra Leone, the DRC, and Libya. Jamie and Jean-Guy discuss the war in Sudan and the humanitarian catastrophe in the nation. Jean Guy describes a very difficult situation. He explains that there are multiple challenges such as getting access to those in need and keeping workers safe in conflict zones. Jamie asks him why it seems that Sudan has become a forgotten crisis, with a lack of humanitarian and diplomatic efforts for this conflict. Jean Guy says he hopes for a ceasefire but is preparing for a longer power struggle in the country which will require tremendous humanitarian aid.
