Each week, Sam and Paul play the classic game of degrees of separation, connecting actors to other actors through other actors.
It is time for an epic rematch between podcasts in the ultimate trivia tournament! TV Trivia Pod, Trivia Time Podcast, Hollywood Cast Connection and Quiz Quiz Bang Bang will compete. This tournament will determine who will win a tiny, precious Lego ring and who will be a loser. We have a variety of questions from TV, Film, Music and General Knowledge in this epic takedown. Are you able to answer questions like: What weapon does Donatello use in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? The Last Supper took place during which religious observance? Taylor Swift owns three cats named after 3 Fictional characters, list one of them. Samus Aran is a bounty hunter in which NES game? What is the only graphic novel to win the Pulitzer Prize? With so many great podcasts all in one room, who will win this trivia competition??? If you like this episode, check out the first competition!
Another round of Hustlewood with Sam and Paul! Find out how many dinosaurs start with the letter B! Check out our good friends over at Quiz Quiz Bang Bang, Trivia Time, and TV Trivia Pod, and stay tuned for part 2 of our LORD OF THE ANSWERINGS game!
What's up everybody! We missed you! First of all, THANK YOU for getting us to 10,000 downloads! We never expected such a response and we greatly appreciate it! Sam and Paul try out a new quick game format this game, and revisit some of the tournament rules (and movies) while they forget how timers work. You guys can play this version of the game, and every other way to play, with your own copy of the very same game we use in our recordings! Pick one up at https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/hollywood-cast-connection.
Merry Christmas everybody! The boys are back with a brand noelpisode we think yule love! Joined by Christmas aficionado Eric Ede, we stuff our cinematic stockings with as many holiday favorites as we can, and unwrap some typical tangents along the way. Happy Holidays from HCC!
We sit down with our dear friend, Dr. Batman, Kyle Hammonds, and chat about our favorites from the previous decade, why we love them, and why everyone else should love them too! Be sure to join us over at the Facebook Group "Movie Talk, with Kyle Hammonds" and let us know what your favorites were!
Listen this week and meet the youngest Carr brother, Zeke! Paul teams up with our bro and they put their glorious heads of hair together to try and beat Sam as we discuss one word titles, one link actors, and what our lists reveal about our psychology.
Sam and Paul surprise themselves this week as they dive into the Action Card recommendations from The Credits and come up with more points than they expected! Will Sam continue his losing streak, or will he finally take home a season 2 win?
He's back and better than ever! Bryan Nash joins Sam and Paul for vindication this week as he takes on the Season 2 format for the first time. The guys duke it out in a 1v1v1 match, and talk battles, sequels, and the movies that are going to make our game hard to play. Will Nash finally get his revenge?
Our new buddy Matt joins us on this episode to talk titular towns and Pittular roles, and we encounter the Savior from Seattle, the Paul Pixar power up, and find out who really was Rod's mom. Will anyone overlap enough to steal a second season win from Paul? Listen, like, subscribe, follow, listen again! If you read this whole thing, please rate on iTunes and write a review that just says "Randallnator".
It's not quite the final frontier, but it is another season 2 episode! Sam and Paul tread some familiar ground in round 1 as they remember that not all alien movies are space movies, not all Fishburnes are Forests, and not all Mark Strong movies will make you cry, but one definitely will. They get a little more room in round two, but will they take advantage of it, and who will win?! Find out now! And if you want to find out more about the bonus episode they are referencing, check us out over at patreon.com/hollywoodcastconnection!
It has all been leading up to this! Two friends become nemeses in this our concluding clash! Neal and Eric square off one last time and work to circle the name that is the reason for the game. Laughs, tears, theme songs and correct pronunciations included!
The last game before the final pits the hero versus the heel, as Eric Ede and Kels from Brain Ladle battle for a shot at the title! Make sure you brace yourself for songs, impressions, laughs, Sam's undying love for Queen Latifah, and an insane amount of Eddie Murphy.
Pay attention as players put each other through their paces in our penultimate peripheral provocation! Neal and Jeremy trade blows as they discuss lesser known cousins, insider industry info, even invent a new underwear, but only one can advance to the first open seat in our Full Circle final!
Can you believe it?? It has been a whole year! Sam and Paul recap the past 12 months and let you know what is in store for the next 12! We honestly cannot thank you all enough - the players, the listeners, the guests, the supporters, the old hats, the new friends, and most of all...the connections. We love you all. We thank you all. We can't wait for the next year!
We have arrived at the end of Round 2 and are pleased to present a head-to-head between two of our favorites, who also happen to be some of each other's favorites! Scott and Eric bounce back and forth in each other's wheelhouses, both wish they had stuck with Kirsten Dunst, and we have one of the most surprising finishes of the game so far! Who will move on to Round 3?
Join (or “JOHN”) Sam, Adam (from BFOP) and Kels (from BLP) and “C” what they “REILLY” know about connecting actors in this week's tournament game between two players who forced pass-outs in round 1! Which pass-out-er will become a pass-out-ee?
Round 2, Game 2, I would like to extend my T.Hanks to the 2 players who joined us today, Quadrivia-ers Jeremy and Jeff! Will Jeremy pull out another deep cut win? Will Jeff force another landmine? Will there be a whole lot of Forest Whitaker info? Listen and find out!
We have made it to Round 2, and I can't think of two more worthy opponents to go head to head in today's match! Brian and Neal get to nerd out, and we get to witness their knowledge, learn a new bonus round, and possibly pitch an obscure version of our game. Whoever wins this game, it was a pure blast from beginning to end!
We have an excellent regular game for you this week, as Patreon supporter Keith Moser squares off against Throwback Trivia Takedown's John Speas! We find out how much John knows about his hometown, and how many actors are from Keith's. Dad jokes abound in this week's Special Features round, as our players try to figure out movie titles from terrible reviews. This one is start to finish fun!

We have reached the end of round 1! Today's game is both entertaining and educational, as we find out Eric's favorite CZJ movie and Phil's favorite Lee Pace. Find out who's moving to round 2, and tune in later this week for a round 1 recap!
This week's game puts HCC Paul against show regular Scott Grimes in a match that covers and bounces between both of their wheelhouses! Who has what it takes to move on to round 2?
Deep cuts all around as two trivia masters put their movie knowledge to the test in game 6! David and Kels (from two of our favorite shows, Quiz Quiz Bang Bang and Brain Ladle) trade off actors and impressions as they work to outwit each other and make it to round 2. Who will succeed!?
Game 5 was such a blast, and Sam and the competitors had a Berry good time! Adam and John tried to cover all of the Chrises, and an unexpected Chris ends up ending the game! Listen to find out who will be moving on to the next round!
We have reached the halfway point for round one of our tournament, and it is a matchup for the ages! Or, for the Cages... Whose deep cuts will carry them to the next round?

It's game one and it is a fun one! We may have broken Cheyenne in the process, but it was a great start to our Full Circle Tournament. Who will be moving on to the quarterfinals?
On this very special episode we have a trivia tournament between TV Trivia Pod, the real Trivia Time Podcast, Hollywood Cast Connection and Quiz Quiz Bang Bang. This tournament will determine who will win a tiny, precious Lego ring and who will be a LOSER. We have a variety of questions from TV, Film, Music and General Knowledge in this epic takedown.
Eric Ede from Benchwarmers stops by to help us test out our Tournament game style! Competitors stay tuned for final rules and scheduling!
This one is seriously fun. We mix up our method for a moment, and encounter two BRAND NEW Action Cards! Paul accidentally gets a bonus movie, we find out Michelle Monaghan’s on-screen husband’s age ranges, we use the same actors and movies but not at all the same lists, and play what Sam says is one of his favorite rounds ever! We can hear you yelling again as our brains stop working during the Match-Cut (before and after) Special Features round (we know it’s painful, but we are still proud of how they turned out), and we finish it off with quick Oscar hot takes and snapshots of our all time favorite movies!
It’s Sam against Paul again this week, and we end up talking a lot of our favorites! We count some numerical titles, make noises instead of answering, and talk about Cillian’s uncredited costar. We then climb multiple mountains mentioning Matilda and measuring the mountain of a man, action star, Danny DeVito. We finish up with an impromptu redo on a Special Features round that has us making creative connections from cards.
Here’s a fun fact - we have a guest this week! It’s stand up comedian Mike Ivy from the Fun Fact podcast! Paul hosts this week and Sam and Mike discuss the number of times “Wow”-en Wilson appeared in the Big Apple, Sam throws out game recommendations, and we talk about every kind of Train but the band. The SF round was finally complete after a few thousand takes and some similarly named celebrity replacements. Check out Mike’s projects at https://linktr.ee/mikeivystandsup2
This week we find our protagonists still locked in battle with the infernal Time Limit. In the course of discussing snake-nadoes, we find out who does a better Sly, and discuss where we could wedge in Walken and Wilson. Round 2 send us to both space and Canada, and Sam apparently forgets basic addition. We take it all the way back to the beginning at the end with an Unkind Rewind “My Guy Was” Special Features round. Pay attention to possibly the best pull ever performed on our podcast - left in unedited for your listening enjoyment!
This week we hearken back to the old episodes and add some new fun features. It’s Sam versus Paul in a game that has us trying to name nationalities (while forgetting some of our favorites), and racing to name racing movies against a newly implemented time limit! We finish up the game with a “Block-Bluster” round where we apparently forget all movies ever, and get lost on our DVD shelves. We can already hear you yelling at us!
We have such a good time this week with our friend Phil Wrighthouse! Paul hosts and gets us (look who’s) talking about movie babies, the fellows get philosophical about butts and butt doubles, Sam gets one song per round stuck in his head, we talk Iconic Sorkin Lines in the SF round, and breakfast turns out to actually be the most important meal of the day! Phil is entertaining on this show, but he’s entertaining way more often on his livestreams and videos! Check out Phil’s games on Twitch and Phil’s books on YouTube!
The fam is in the house! Our brothers and sister join us for this week’s game and it is a riot. We get caught in the snow and in Lando’s pronunciation guides, spend several seconds on movies (and actors, and insults) that begin with S, and possibly break our own game! Sarah hosts and we try to outdo each other on her Special Features round, as we find out which sibling celebs have outdone each other on the big screen. Special thanks to Patreon supporter Phil Carr, for playing our game today and for the awesome rules recording!
It’s the first ever HCC tag team no holds barred contest, and it is legendary! Newcomer Greg Johnson and returning champ Adam Speas (Throwback Trivia Takedown) team up to take on the team of title touters, Kels (Brain Ladle) and Paul! This week’s game not only keeps everyone laughing, but we find out Kels can do even more voices, Greg is an encyclopedia (seriously!), Adam witnesses Paul get a question right on a podcast, and we find out in the Special Features round which wrestlers have starred alongside award winners. This one is all the way down to the wire, do not miss who takes home the belt! And when you finish this episode, go listen to these guests' shows, and rate and review them!
Paul hosts this week and we have a ton of fun with our guest…who is…whoooo? It’s the one and only Josh Bohmbach (from Benchwarmers Trivia Podcast)! This episode brings us much joy, as it not only delivers some trademark Bohmbach catchphrases but also those famous Bohmbach sighs. Diversions and revelations include patronuses (patroni?), Henry Hill movies and how they relate to Josh's hat, and how previous guests perfected strategies that continue to come in handy! Will someone actually be able to set a record with Paul’s “Clackergories” SF round? Check out and snag JAB Games pocket card game at https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/grab-your-pitchforks-and-torches
The man. The myth. The voice of legend. We are graced by one of the greatest players to ever play the game, Bryan Nash! Sam hosts and Bryan shares with us the secret of his secret weapon, and gives us a glimpse into the impressive library that is his mind, while Paul does the opposite of campaigning for his LLFC title and uses his own mental movie gymnastics to stay alive. With Sam’s SF round on "non-actors" in movies, who will emerge victorious in this clash of champions?
A good epsiode with a good buddy, a good player, and an all around good dude, Jeremy Goodson! Sam hosts this week and we find out the difference between “based on” and “inspired by”, connect Rocks with bands, make some Brony confessions, and find out the droid equivalents of some iconic characters. Some laughing, some learning, and a whole lot of kicking! Check out Jeremy’s Twitch stream!
It’s a full house this week as we are joined by 3 special guests, and a special guest host! Paul and Sam team up against the trio of Cheyenne, John and Dustin and we find out which cartoon classic can be classified as a gangster movie, which gangster classic can be classified as a Christmas movie, which taglines definitely don’t go with certain movies, and which actors probably shouldn’t go with which characters. Previous guest Eric Ede (Benchwarmers) runs the RANGE for us, and cooks up one of our favorite Special Features rounds yet! Check out Dustin's artwork at www.dustinresch.com!
It’s always a good time hanging with Jeff Bimm from RMT Trivia, and this episode was no exception! This week, Paul hosts and we assign famous actors new nicknames, find out if the future includes things that happened “a long long time ago”, spoil some post credit stingers, and further investigate whether Sam and Jeff truly are the same person. Be sure to check out Jeff on Wednesdays (my dudes) at twitch.tv/RMTTrivia, as part of the Four Horsemen of the Quizpocalypse lineup!
Seriously people, we cannot express how excited we are to have had a chance to play our game with THE FIRST LADY, Trivia Hall of Famer, host of Fourplay and core crew of Trivial Warfare, Carmela Smith! Sam hosts and has a ton of fun leading Paul and Carmela down a winding road that includes redheads, royalty, game show preps, garden paths, greyscale, movies we love and movies we haven’t finished. Paul does his best to keep it neck and neck with Carmela into the SF round (which this week is an "SF" SF), but will it be enough to clench a win? Listen and find out! And then listen to Carmela on her shows at the links below! Fourplay: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/fourplay-a-game-of-connections/id1467585696 Trivial Warfare: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/trivial-warfare-trivia/id964623770
Lo and alas, look who stopped by the show to confusticate and bebother our game! The game show voice of all game show voices, Adam Speas from Blast From Our Past and Throwback Trivia Takedown! If you miss this one, you won't hear an astounding confession from Sam, learn the difference between a spacecraft and an airplane, find out who begat who in a certain universe, and see if Paul's game helps Adam turn Samwise into Samdumb. Check out all of the shows on the BFOP Network and find links to their social media and Patreon at https://www.bfopnetwork.com.
Lots of laughs out loud this week when professional puzzler and practitioner of the perplexing, Adal Rifai (Hey Riddle Riddle / Hello From the Magic Tavern) pops in to play our game! We find out what a world without Pittsburgh would look like, how many animals are actually dinosaurs, what type of jewelry a southwest Batman would wear, and Abbott and Costello get an after-dark English update. Our good buddy, the Doctor of Batman, the Academy authority, Kyle Hammonds (from episode 12) stops by for a casual chat about this year's Oscar picks, our favorite new movies (and some favorite old movies), and what we are excited to see in the next few months. Whether you're looking for an inside scoop on your Oscar fantasy league, or just need suggestions for quarantine entertainment, Kyle has the reviews and recommendations to get you what you need!
Brothers versus brothers! Podcast versus podcast! This week’s game has all the drama, controversy and comedy that you would expect as Scott Grimes (Benchwarmers/People Don’t Forget) pits the Carr Bros against the Eden Bros (90 Under 90/An Intervention movie) in an epic battle that covers dogs, bees, Balto incidents, and more mentions of an actor than that actor has movies. We find out in Scott’s Special Features round if the Eden’s fraternal filmography foraging will give them the edge they need to beat out Paul and Sam. Which set of siblings will emerge victorious? Listen and find out! Check out Scott Grimes on both of his entertaining shows: Benchwarmers and People Don’t Forget! Check out 90 Under 90 Podcast and watch the Eden Bros new movie An Intervention on Amazon! Be sure to leave a review on Amazon and IMDB, and tell your friends about all of these great productions!
We find ourselves overwhelmed with appreciation in this week’s episode when our friend from one of our favorite shows, the movie guy himself, Neal E. Fischer from the Triviality podcast stops by for a game! Neal fills us in on an upcoming print project, we find out how filming is faring during quarantine, and decide if it is doable to discuss gangster movies without De Niro. In round two, Neal and Paul have to BEAR down, and hope things don’t get too GRIZZLY as they come up with POLAR opposite lists. Will Neal be able to hold on to the title through the Special Features round? Find links to Triviality’s show, store and social media at www.trivialitypodcast.com!
This week's guest, the esteemed Addy Lewis, comes to us from across the pond to deliver a nail biter of a game. Paul hosts this week and has Sam and Addy searching for the Clooney connection, doubling up on our love for Clive Owen, and gives us several James Bond questions with some non-Bond answers. We find out how much we know about movie geography, and self-diagnosed quiz addict Addy lets us know how he is getting his trivia fix during quarantine! As heard on this week's show: Addy's Proxy Pub Quiz, Quadrivia, Orange Cat Trivia, RMT Trivia, Liquid Kourage Entertainment
It's finally here! We have been teasing a The Office episode since episode one, and Eric Ede, from The Benchwarmers podcast, finally gave us the chance to bring one to life! We talk Dundies, Threat Level Midnight, and Sam's Special Features round has Eric and Paul searching for the Dunder Mifflin links between random sets of words. This shouldn't be so hard. That's what she said.
