W tym tygodniu, tuż po gali The Game Awards, przygotowaliśmy odcinek zdominowany przez gorące dyskusje i jedną, wielką recenzję. Głównym daniem był Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Mateusz Zdanowicz i Paweł Typiak szczegółowo omówili powrót Samus Aran. Z jednej strony zachwycaliśmy się oprawą graficzną (4K, 60 FPS!) i świetnym sterowaniem (szczególnie opcją celowania ruchowego), ale z drugiej – mocno skrytykowaliśmy archaiczny system zapisu, frustrujące checkpointy i bolesny backtracking, co ostudziło nasz entuzjazm i wpłynęło na końcową ocenę 7/10.Drugą połowę audycji poświęciliśmy The Game Awards. After graduating from Alabama School of Fine Arts, she took on voice roles to fund her dream of becoming a musician. Soon, however, the acting took over. After securing some roles in regional TV series, she moved to Los Angeles. There, a part in the cartoon ‘Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?' brought her into the world of video games, where she quickly became one of the world's most sought-after performers. In 2011 the New Yorker described her as “a kind of Meryl Streep of the form.” Her roles, which number more than a hundred, include that of Samus Aran in the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Naomi Hunter in Metal Gear Solid, Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect games, and the character Ashe in Overwatch. Samus Aran has conquered the “X” parasite, proving herself as the Ultimate Warrior. Some time after she destroyed the Metroid breeding program by a rogue cell of the Galactic Federation, the mainline Galactic Federation (which had no culpability in the breeding program) received a mysterious video transmission showing a living “X” parasite on the planet ZDR. After the Federation lost contact with their E.M.M.I. robots on the surface of ZDR, they have hired Samus Aran, the last Metroid, to investigate.

“Here, another chapter of that history will be written.” As well as excitement, there was palpable trepidation when Nintendo announced that Metroid was going not only 3D, but also first-person - especially because it was being developed in tandem with an untested American team, Retro Studios. However, the resulting game - Metroid Prime - was received with almost universal praise.
