As I continued to seek God, I discovered more about Him and about myself. I've learned so much. Hey guys, this week's episode is a little different but I felt led to share this so here we are. I hope this encourages you and when it does, share this with someone else needing encouraging words.
Let's admit it - forgiveness is hard (for me anyways)... Because sometimes I don't want to forgive an offense and just allow the emotions to fester. But that isn't what God wants... God commands us to forgive, to be tenderhearted and kind.. hard right? Let's talk about it.
God gives grace to all people - the most amazing example being the grace He gave us through Christ dying for us. But what do we do with grace after that? We live in it and give it away. Let's talk about it.
Intercession is an essential part of our faith. We cannot keep coming to God to pray for the things that we want to see happen in our lives but we have to make it a point to also pray for others. Plead with God for other people - that God's will be done in their lives and that they would know Christ. Because believe it or not, someone was pleading for you. Things are happening around us all the time, so much so that it can cause us to fall into fear. But fear is not what God has given us, let's talk about.
In the midst of trials and tribulations, we have to choose gratitude. God says specifically in His word that we ought to Rejoice always and give thanks in all things, let's talk about . Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:15-18
Sometimes, not knowing can stir up anxiety but in the case of believers, it should stir up excitement. God's word says that He has such great plans for us- to prosper us and give us an expected end. This is something we should look forward to.
God wants us to honor Him with everything, especially money! Let's talk about it Scriptures: 1 Timothy 6:17-18 2 Peter 1:3
God sometimes challenges us with the very thing He blessed us with - our wealth, our jobs, our ministry, our families, etc. He wants to know our hearts are really for Him, and not to walk away sad when He challenges us like the rich young ruler. Scripture: Matthew 19: 16-22
Preparedness - a state or condition of being completely ready for something, especially some kind of disaster Are you completely ready? - Matthew 25: 1-13 Readiness should be a state that everyone who believes in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ remains in. How to stay ready: 1. Prayer 2. Fasting 3. Read the word 4. Coming together in fellowship 5. Sharing the gospel What are your thoughts on this topic?
Jonah received an assignment from God but ran away and fell asleep while in disobedience. As Jonah's story continues, we see that he is swallowed up by a fish as a consequence of his disobedience but later flips the script and repents. His act of repentance causes him to be rescued by God and an entire nation to be saved. That's the good news! There is a flip side - when we choose to be obedient, we reap the fruits of it - salvation, hope and good rewards. Prayer: God, wake me up to the things that I have been disobedient in and help to move forward in obedience. I ask that you forgive me for neglecting what you said and doing my own thing. Help me to walk in your perfect way, in Jesus name, amen .

We all struggle with worry, fear and anxiety... especially me! But God's word has given us an antidote to conquer and overcome it. Let's talk about! Philippians 4:6-7 NLT - ”Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. I recently got a performance evaluation at work... and that got me thinking what does a performance evaluation look like for a believer? Is it similar to the ones we get on our jobs? Total Obedience What is total obedience in our walk with God? It means doing what He says when He says where He says it. Being obedient can result in us having to say or do some hard things like Isaiah in this passage. However, no matter how hard or crazy the instruction may seem, there is a reward in simply going with God. Have you ever prayed a prayer simply for the sake of praying and not expect God to answer or give you a directive? The thing about prayer is that it is a conversation between you and your Creator. It is active and it involves waiting in anticipation and expectation for God will say. We have to: 1. Expect a response - Habakkuk 2:1 NIV ”I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.“ 2. Test what comes - if it's from God, it won't b contrary to His word- 1 John 4:1-2 NIV ”Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Have you ever gotten a “no” from God? We all have. Sometimes it comes across as Him not loving us or not wanting to have something but did you know that there are several reasons God might say no? No - Not for you/not a good thing - 1 Kings 13 No - Not the right time - Genesis 16 No - Hope, Pause & Wait - longer wait… David coming to the throne God is a good Father and as a parent, He knows what's best for His children. So just like any good parent who knows us and foresees the future, His “no” is for our protection, maturity and expression of His love. Job 38:4-5 KJV “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched the line upon it?” Some time ago, I shared about the blessing of trusting God, then last week was when God says to let go, so this is “Where were You?” Based out of Job 38… So in a recent situation, I found myself questioning a particular directive God had given and transparently, I questioned whether God's directive would be good for me or not. Obviously it was good because it's God but because I did that.. God led me to Job.. Who faced similar but all be it definitely more extenuating circumstances but asked so many questions that it seemed like He had placed God on trial.. But the basis of this question wasn't centered around Job.. it was about God? So God asked me.. where were you? Are we little children, just recently weaned? He tells us everything over and over— one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there!” Matthew 18:3 Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. 1 Corinthians 2:3 Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world's standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. God loves you. That's bottom line, the top line and the only line that matters. He loves you, He cares for you and wants you to come to Him, always. Are you limiting God in your life? Have you placed God and yourself in a box? God wants to do infinitely more with us, through us, and for us! We just need to give Him the room. Make space for God to interrupt your life... to speak to you in the different diverse ways that He does.. just like He did with those in the Bible. Prayer: Dear God, show me where I am limiting you in my life. I pray that you would help to break those limits.
