Jesus Followers Are Expected, by God, to Confess their Sins and Plead for Forgiveness {Penitence} Real Time MESSAGE SUMMARY: Penitence is not a once in a lifetime occurrence. Penitence is a daily and moment by moment, real time, occurrence. None of us is perfect, and not one of us always does the will of God. Paul, in Romans 2:4-5, is unequivocal in establishing the need for your continuing penitence and the consequences of your not repenting of your sins on a real-time basis: “Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.". Therefore, we all need to repent and return to the Lord. You can become cocky and arrogant in your spiritual life – “I am a Christian; God has done this for me.”. As the Psalmist tells us in Psalms 32:5 of his confession and his penitence: “I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,' and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.". You can rest on our perceived laurels; but these perceptions, of personal goodness and righteousness, can lead you quickly to a need for your penitence. TODAY'S PRAYER: Most merciful God I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I might delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of Your Name. Amen. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Inconsistencies. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Faithfulness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Get your Hosea Scripture Journal now. Our shout-out today goes to Joel Allman from Pella, IA. Thanks for your partnership in Project23. What does God do when the people he loves begin drifting away from him? He confronts them. Listen to our text today, Hosea 2:1-3. Say to your brothers, "You are my people," and to your sisters, "You have received mercy." "Plead with your mother, plead— for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband— that she put away her whoring from her face, and her adultery from between her breasts; lest I strip her naked and make her as in the day she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and make her like a parched land, and kill her with thirst. — Hosea 2:1-3 Hosea 2 opens with a powerful image. God speaks to the faithful within Israel—the "children"—and tells them to plead with their mother, a symbol of the nation itself. Israel has broken the covenant with God. The marriage relationship has been violated. God's words are direct: "She is not my wife, and I am not her husband." This language may sound shocking, but it reveals something deeply important about the way God relates to his people. Throughout the Bible, God describes his relationship with his people using the language of marriage. Israel was not simply a nation that God ruled. She was a bride God loved. That's why idolatry is not just disobedience—it is spiritual adultery. When Israel worshiped Baal and other false gods, they were not just breaking a rule. They were abandoning their covenant love. And the consequences were serious. God warns that if Israel continues in her unfaithfulness, the blessings that once covered the nation will be stripped away. The land will become like a wilderness—dry, barren, and lifeless. But notice something important here. Even in confrontation, God's goal is not destruction. It is restoration. The command to "plead" shows that God is still calling his people to repentance. The door is not closed. The covenant is not forgotten. God is confronting the sin because he still desires the relationship. This is how love works. Real love does not ignore betrayal. Real love calls it out so it can be healed. And the same principle applies to us today. When God confronts our idols, exposes our misplaced loves, or disciplines our hearts, it is not because he has rejected us. It is because he refuses to share our hearts with things that will ultimately destroy us. Today, take a moment to examine your own heart. Ask God to reveal any place where your love for him has grown cold—or where something else has taken his place. Then return to him. DO THIS: Take five quiet minutes today and honestly ask God to reveal anything that may be competing with your devotion to him. ASK THIS: Why do you think the Bible uses marriage to describe God's relationship with his people? What are some modern "idols" people turn to instead of trusting God? Is there anything in your life right now competing for the place God should hold in your heart? PRAY THIS: Father, search my heart and reveal anything that has taken your place in my life. Help me return to you with a renewed love and devotion. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Come Thou Fount"

President Trump is set to depart for Beijing on Tuesday, for a two-day summit with Chinese regime leader Xi Jinping. White House officials say the President is expected to pursue major new agreements while traveling with a delegation of top U.S. tech and business leaders, including Elon Musk and other executives from major industries. The President also plans to raise several sensitive issues including Taiwan, Iran, and Russia. He says he will bring up the cases of imprisoned Hong Kong publisher Jimmy Lai and Chinese pastor Ezra Jin during discussions with Xi.The Justice Department says a California mayor has agreed to plead guilty to operating as an agent for the Chinese regime, in another troubling case of Beijing attempting to influence events in the U.S. Eileen Wang, former mayor of Arcadia, California resigned from her position on Monday after being charged with secretly carrying out the directives of a foreign government. Court documents say Wang and her fiancé and campaign treasurer Yaoning “Mike” Sun of Chino Hills worked on behalf of instructions from Chinese regime operatives from late 2020 through 2022.The Treasury Department announced sanctions on 12 new targets accused of helping transport Iranian oil to China. The move is part of the Trump administration's “Economic Fury” campaign aimed at cutting off funding for Tehran's military and nuclear programs. Treasury officials say the sanctions target a network tied to Iran's Revolutionary Guard, including several companies based in Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates. Officials say the network used front companies and shell corporations to disguise Iranian oil shipments and move money through the global financial system.

Maxwell's legal team has signalled that she will invoke her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination if she's required to testify before the House Oversight Committee (or other congressional investigators) without pre-conditions being met. Specifically, her attorneys have said she will refuse to answer questions unless immunity from further prosecution is granted, the questions are provided in advance, her pending appeals (including to the Supreme Court) are resolved, and the setting is acceptable (for example, not in her prison facility). Without those safeguards, the firm position is that she will “plead the Fifth” and not participate.Because Congress has so far declined to provide the kind of immunity or guarantees Maxwell's counsel demands, the committee chair (James Comer) has publicly stated that she “won't answer any questions” and will invoke the Fifth. Thus, barring a change in those conditions, her testimony appears to be off the table and the committee may opt not to expend resources if she will simply refuse to engage.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Welcome to Day 2846 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2846 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 119:153-160 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2847 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2847 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The Title for Today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Resh of Revival – The Divine Advocate in the Cosmic Courtroom In our previous episode on this grand expedition, we hiked through the nineteenth stanza of Psalm One Hundred Nineteen, known as the "Qoph" section. We sat with the psalmist during the terrifying, vulnerable hours of the night watch. We heard his wholehearted cry for rescue as the lawless ones drew near. But in the midst of that approaching darkness, we discovered a breathtaking reality: the enemy may be close, but the Creator is closer. We learned to anticipate the dawn, anchoring our exhausted souls to the eternal, unshakeable laws of the King. Today, we take a deep breath, brush the dust from our boots, and take our next deliberate step upward. We are entering the twentieth stanza of this magnificent, alphabetical mountain. We are exploring the "Resh" section, covering Psalm One Hundred Nineteen, verses one hundred fifty-three through one hundred sixty, in the New Living Translation. In the ancient Hebrew alphabet, the letter "Resh" was depicted as the head of a man. It represents that which is chief, the summit, the beginning, or the highest authority. This imagery is woven brilliantly into the fabric of these verses. The psalmist is exhausted from the relentless attacks of his enemies, and he realizes that he cannot win this battle in the earthly courts of public opinion. He needs to go straight to the top. He appeals to the highest authority in the cosmos, asking the Supreme Judge of the Divine Council to act as his personal defense attorney. Let us step onto the trail, and enter the cosmic courtroom. The First Segment is: The The Plea for the Divine Advocate Psalm One Hundred Nineteen: verses one hundred fifty-three and one hundred fifty-four. Look down upon my sorrows and rescue me, for I have not forgotten your instructions. Argue my case; take my side! Protect my life as you promised. The stanza opens with a desperate, deeply personal petition. "Look down upon my sorrows and rescue me, for I have not forgotten your instructions." The psalmist is carrying an immense burden of affliction. The Hebrew word for "sorrows" implies a state of being completely wretched, humbled, and beaten down by external circumstances. He asks Yahweh to look down from the heavenly throne room and witness his misery. But he does not just ask for pity; he grounds his request in his covenant loyalty. He says, "I have not forgotten your instructions." Despite the intense pressure to compromise with the rebel gods of the surrounding culture, he has maintained his allegiance to the cosmic blueprint. Because he has remained loyal, he dares to make a staggering legal demand in verse one hundred fifty-four: "Argue my case; take my side! Protect my life as you promised." To fully grasp the magnitude of this request, we must understand the Ancient Israelite worldview. The psalmist is standing in the spiritual courtroom of the Divine Council. The Accuser, representing the hostile, chaotic forces of the world, is standing against him, demanding his destruction. The psalmist knows he cannot adequately defend himself against these dark, supernatural principalities. So, he calls upon Yahweh to act as his Go'el. In ancient Israel, a Go'el was a kinsman-redeemer, a powerful family member who would step into a legal dispute, pay off debts, and advocate for a vulnerable relative. The psalmist is essentially saying, "Lord, step down from the judge's bench, walk over to the defense table, and act as my Advocate. Plead my cause! Fight my legal battle against the rebel forces, and redeem my life, just as Your covenant promises!" He is asking the highest authority in the universe to take his side. The Second Segment is: The Great Chasm of Mercy Psalm One Hundred Nineteen: verses one hundred fifty-five and one hundred fifty-six. The wicked are far from rescue, for they do not bother with your decrees. Lord, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by your regulations. As the psalmist looks around the cosmic courtroom, he observes the tragic fate of his oppressors. "The wicked are far from rescue, for they do not bother with your decrees." The rebel forces, and the arrogant humans who serve them, believe they are autonomous. They think they can orchestrate their own salvation through wealth, military might, and political deception. But the psalmist reveals the objective reality: they are incredibly far from rescue. Why? Because salvation is not a magic trick; it is a byproduct of alignment with the Creator. Because the wicked "do not bother" to seek out God's decrees, they have completely disconnected themselves from the only Source of life. They have built their fortress on a fault line, and their destruction is inevitable. In sharp, beautiful contrast to the distance of the wicked, the psalmist marvels at the proximity of God's compassion. "Lord, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by your regulations." The Hebrew word for mercy here is rachamim, which we have seen before. It is rooted in the word for a mother's womb, implying a fierce, protective, nurturing compassion. The psalmist says that God's mercies are "great," or exceedingly abundant. The rebel gods are cruel, demanding, and distant, but Yahweh is overflowing with tender compassion for His exhausted exiles. Because of this abundant mercy, he asks to be "revived." He needs the breath of life—chayah—to be pumped back into his fainting soul. He recognizes that God's regulations are not just rigid legal codes; they are the very mechanism of revival. The Word of the Advocate brings the defendant back to life. The third segment is: Standing Firm in the Face of Treason Psalm One Hundred Nineteen: verses one hundred fifty-seven and one hundred fifty-eight. Many persecute and trouble me, yet I have not swerved from your laws. Seeing these traitors makes me sick at heart, because they care nothing for your word. The psalmist reminds the Divine Advocate of the sheer volume of the opposition. "Many persecute and trouble me, yet I have not swerved from your laws." He is not just fighting a single adversary; he is facing a swarm. The persecutors are the earthly proxies of the dark realm, and they are relentlessly trying to push him off the path. But he testifies to his own stubborn resilience. "I have not swerved." He has not compromised his integrity. He has kept his eyes fixed on the "Resh"—the Head, the Chief Authority—and refused to bow to the idols of the culture. But this resilience comes with a heavy emotional cost. He confesses in verse one hundred fifty-eight: "Seeing these traitors makes me sick at heart, because they care nothing for your word." Other translations say, "I look at the faithless with disgust," or "I behold the transgressors, and am grieved." The word "traitors" is incredibly important. In the biblical worldview, humanity was created to image God, to partner with the Creator in ruling the earth. When humans abandon that high calling, and align themselves with the destructive, chaotic forces of the rebel gods, they are committing cosmic treason. When the psalmist looks at these traitors, he does not feel a smug, self-righteous superiority. He feels sick at heart. He is overcome with grief and nausea. Why? Because he loves the Creator so deeply, that it physically hurts him to watch people vandalize God's beautiful design. He feels the very grief of the Holy Spirit. He is mourning the fact that these individuals care absolutely nothing for the life-giving Word of the King. The fourth segment is: The Sum of All Truth Psalm One Hundred Nineteen: verses one hundred fifty-nine and one hundred sixty. See how I love your commandments, Lord. Give back my life because of your unfailing love. The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever. As the stanza draws to a close, the psalmist

AP correspondent Julie Walker reports the man charged in a string of infamous killings in Long Island is reportedly planning to change his plea.
After nearly three years of maintaining his innocence, Rex Heuermann is expected to change his plea to guilty at an April 8th court appearance, according to sources familiar with his decision. If a judge accepts the plea, the case would end without a trial. Heuermann reportedly faces life without the possibility of parole.Heuermann, 62, a former architect from Massapequa Park, New York, has been held without bail at Suffolk County jail since his July 2023 arrest. He is charged with the first-degree murders of seven women: Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Lynn Costello, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Jessica Taylor, Sandra Costilla, and Valerie Mack. The victims were allegedly killed between 1993 and 2010. Their remains were discovered in isolated areas along Ocean Parkway near Gilgo Beach and elsewhere on Long Island.Prosecutors have said the evidence includes DNA analysis connecting hair found on the remains of multiple victims to Heuermann and reportedly to his ex-wife and daughter. Cellphone data allegedly placed Heuermann in contact with victims shortly before their disappearances. Investigators also recovered files from his computer described as a planning document containing checklists that reportedly referenced limiting noise, cleaning bodies, and destroying evidence.Heuermann's defense had sought to exclude the DNA evidence and to split the case into separate trials. Both motions were denied. A trial had been scheduled for September 2026.Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines the legal and investigative implications — what a plea reversal from a defendant who has fought this aggressively typically signals, what the families gain and lose when a serial murder case resolves without a public trial, and what happens to the additional unresolved cases connected to the Gilgo Beach investigation.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Big MVP performances plus an Underdog meltdown.
If you've been following the Gilgo Beach case from the beginning, this is the moment the entire investigation has been building toward.According to multiple sources confirmed by the Associated Press and every major national outlet, Rex Heuermann — the architect from Massapequa Park charged with murdering seven women connected to the Long Island serial killer investigation — is expected to plead guilty on April 8 and accept life without the possibility of parole. The families have been notified. The September trial is almost certainly not happening.I've covered every turn of this case, and in this episode I'm walking through how it all finally came together — from the discovery of the Gilgo Four in December 2010, to the 2022 task force revival, to the pizza crust DNA that cracked the case open, to the arrest outside his Manhattan office in July 2023, to the charges that eventually stretched back to 1993.The murder manual in all capitals — "Body Prep," "Post Event," notes on rope weight, lessons allegedly taken from previous kills — created in 2000, updated for years, recovered after he tried to wipe it. The burner phones under fake names. The Tinder account. The 500-plus contacts. The Gmail searches for "Why hasn't the Long Island serial killer been caught." The 350-plus devices. The DNA on five victims linked not just to Heuermann — but to his wife and daughter, transferred through objects from inside their family home. His daughter says he most likely did it. His ex-wife called him her hero. The defense fought hard and lost every major motion. No Wiggle Room 46 Who among you can convict me of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47 The one who is from God listens to God's words. This is why you don't listen, because you are not from God.” 48 The Jews responded to him, “Aren't we right in saying that you're a Samaritan and have a demon?” 49 “I do not have a demon,” Jesus answered. “On the contrary, I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50 I do not seek my own glory; there is one who seeks it and judges. 51 Truly I tell you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” 52 Then the Jews said, “Now we know you have a demon. Abraham died and so did the prophets. You say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.' 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham who died? And the prophets died. Who do you claim to be?” 54 “If I glorify myself,” Jesus answered, “my glory is nothing. My Father—about whom you say, ‘He is our God'—he is the one who glorifies me. 55 You do not know him, but I know him. If I were to say I don't know him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know him, and I keep his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day; he saw it and was glad.” 57 The Jews replied, “You aren't fifty years old yet, and you've seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, before Abraham was, I am.” 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple.John 8:46–59 So many think that Jesus is this gentle, mild-mannered man that never raised His voice, was always politically correct, was interested in only helping minorities and... …was just plain nice... Really? Yes, and there are all sorts of other versions of Jesus... like this one... running around... out there.... in people's minds... And… when you hear the words, "Now what would Jesus do?" What does… come to mind? What are people getting at? It is usually not the Jesus of the Bible, that they are asking we emulate. What does Jesus do? He Judges. He condemns. He is a surgeon with a very precise hand, cutting away with a very sharp knife... … the many things we hold dear... the many things we would like to keep... But He never compromises...He never gives one inch to sin coddlers...or their sin...of any kind. Yes, He comes for sinners...and yes...to forgive sinners... But that is not the same thing as people think. First...He judges...and this all the time... ...and when He says not to judge...it is not what people are quoting Him for. No, Jesus gives no one... any wiggle room! None! In fact, He presses the Law more than anyone else. That Law, that Jesus preached...and taught...and insisted upon... … was not just about what we did... with our hands... outwardly... No, it was about what we conceive inwardly...in our minds and hearts. What did you dream of? What did you want and desire? What secrets were we harboring? Jesus tells us that even if we don't actually do any of that...what we wanted to do...what we thought about...fantasized about... According to God, we have, in fact already had done it. So... no... there is no wiggle room...to slink away with...then. No... there is no wiggle room to escape justice… then. None! We are what we are...what He says we are... And we know it...even if we are not sure of the details of our case...but...be sure...He does. So, when we encounter this Jesus, understand that this IS the real one...our Jesus...the same Jesus...as He always was...is and will be. This is the Jesus who preaches the unfiltered...non-watered down Law. Who passes judgment on our...and all sin. And we CAN say...as so many do...all manner of things about Him. We can call Him insane...a megalomaniac who thinks He is God, a magician...in league with the devil...a fake...or just another would-be religion maker. Or we can ignore the Bible and come up with our on own version of Jesus as so many also do. But when we meet Him in the Bible, we meet Him as the Word of God who uses His Word as a mirror to show us who we are and how we measure up to God's...His... Jesus' standards. And we either face these standards...and our lack of measuring up to them, or we do what most people do... ...remain unconverted and head right into hell. But make no mistake about it, when He points the finger...He is pointing it at me...at you...and at everyone. So...stop then...stop trying to justify yourself. Stop trying to find legal loopholes. Stop trying to re-interpret what He is condemning us for...as something other than just what it is: Sin...wrong...and destructive. Accept it. There is no way out of His verdict of our guilt. What is the best thing to be done, then? Plead guilty. Let His Word turn us around. Let Him cut you...let Him cut as deep as needed to bring His healing process. Well...but that would kill me! Well...yeah! That it will. That is how bad we are. We need to be killed. He needs to kill us...and that is exactly what He is doing to us... ...all so that He can resurrect us without that which He is condemning us for...what He is condemning us to death for. All so that we will end up without our disease. That is the purpose of the Law. To Kill us. In the end it will kill us all. It must. There is no way to rise again healed unless we let Him do this...kill us. He will not compromise. There is no other way. We cannot do better...ever! We cannot make up for any of it, no matter how hard we try. Humankind cannot be rehabilitated. We have to put down. Each and every one. So go ahead. Pharisee. Go ahead follower of the devil...and you are if you hold to any of his lies. And we do... Go ahead, adulterer...fornicator...sodomite...pornographer... Go ahead, murderer, gossip...thief... ...coveter...idolater... You who are stingy and inhospitable... You who are despisers of God's House...preaching and His Word. Go ahead and plead guilty. Let Him stop and kill all of that in you...as He must do...same as in me. Yes...let Him change your mind. Accept His declaration of all of it...as being as evil, damnable sin. What is left then...? … dead and dying ground that He plants saving faith in... Because He has already been condemned, punished and killed for all of those sins listed...and for any that were not. He has stepped in and took your place at the executioner's head-chopping block...firing range...lethal injection table. He has already been blamed for all that you are and all that you do...and… in eternity He did the time in the dark black cell. What is left then? What do you do now? Contrary … yes we are to be contrary… to all that is listed above... Yet this can only be done IN HIM...within His walls...under and by His Grace and Mercy...and only because of the Freedom He gives through the Gospel...in the Gospel...by the Gospel.... That is, only by and in... because of...and in the midst of Him... with His things… Where He gives them… by His Word... Which is the same thing...for us...right now. Only a person forgiven of a crime can know what forgiveness is...can walk away free. Only a person who is forgiven a life-time of evil, guilt and shame...can know true forgiveness...and really be free. If in our condition, we think we are already free...free to do what we please because we have decided what is good and right for us to do... We are bound up tight in a very dark place. And we will remain there if we refuse His sentence...His Judgment... The Son must set you free. Then and only then are you in fact. But it is only again ever so in Him...in Christ...with Him... You in Him and He in you forever. That is the true human condition. We are only what we were meant to be...what we were created to be...in that state. We were made to be companions of God...together. We cannot even be true companions to each other unless it is with Him too. As one pastor said once, plead guilty so that you can be acquitted and go and live forever with the judge. That is the only way out of all of this. He is the ONLY Way...the ONLY Truth...and the ONLY Life...no one gets to the Father...the Judge...the King...but in this way. And He is offering. It is a limited time offer. It only lasts as long as your life...or as long as the world lasts...whatever comes...or I should say, goes first. So yes, you are guilty. Yes, you are facing a death and an eternal life sentence. But Jesus is offering you complete forgiveness without any strings. To make you truly human...like He is...the way you were created to be: Living, breathing, running, singing...laughing... Forever... Forever to live in His House and...out into the wide open fields...at play...as a child of God. It is yours right now. Amen.
The swiftly moving bat cuts almost invisibly through the darkness, silent to all but those who can hear its ultrasonic radar. What chance does a poor night-flying cricket—prized as a tasty bat snack—have?Let's treat this problem as if you were the Creator, faced with the problem of giving your night-flying cricket a chance against its predator. Of course, you could design the cricket so that it would stay in its hiding place at night, but then you wouldn't have a night-flying cricket. You could give the cricket the ability to hear the bat's radar, but that alone won't help the cricket if he can't get to safety. The solution our true Creator has invented to help the cricket preserve its life is another example of His engineering excellence. He has built the cricket with a single-celled bat detector that is wired into the cricket's nervous system. The detector is triggered by the frequency that bats use for navigation. When triggered, the cell fires off up to 500 impulses per second. These impulses automatically cause the cricket to steer away from the source of the ultrasound. The most impressive engineering fact about this bat detector is that it only works if the cricket is in flight and therefore vulnerable to bats. When crickets are safe from bats—resting, hiding, eating or preening—the bat detector cell doesn't fire any warning at all!The precise elegance that the Creator has designed into the cricket for its protection is a witness to His wisdom in caring for all He that has created. Learn more about that wisdom in the Bible.Psalm 119:154“Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word.”Prayer: Dear Father, Your love is so great that it extends to all that You have made. Your love for me is deeper than I can ever know, but I thank You that I can know that You so loved me that You sent Your only Son for my salvation. Thank You for Your love. Help me to reflect that love to others. Amen.REF. Shreeve, James. The great cricket escape. Science 85, p. 83. Image: Brown Trig cricket, Katja Schulz, CC BY 2.0, Wikimedia Commons. A kaleidoscope of polyrhythms and post-dubstep. "Music was a way to speak Arabic… It's my way of being confident that I am, in fact, Lebanese," Jared Beeler AKA DJ Plead told Crack Magazine in 2022. Often framed as an Australian producer threading Arabic rhythmic structures through techno and post-dubstep, DJ Plead's music is better understood as tradition embedded inside contemporary club forms, where percussion and bass move as one. First surfacing in the late 2010s with releases on DECISIONS and Nervous Horizon, he has since become one of the most consistent voices in leftfield dance music, defined by the tactile clarity of their drum programming and Maqam-informed phrasing. RA.1028 opens with Bruce's "Just Getting On With It" from Livity Sound's ten-year compilation, a fitting nod to the kind of rhythmic experimentation that runs through the set. From Iran to London to Miami and back again, the 90-minute mix pulls a wide frame into focus, including several unreleased DJ Plead tracks. Whether it's the dry snap of hand-drum hits or sub-bass that lands with chest-caving weight, RA. 1028 is a reminder that rhythm can be a direct path back to the self. It's Tuesday, February 10th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson, Timothy Reed, and Adam McManus Hong Kong man critical of Chinese Communists sentenced to 20 years In a Hong Kong court, religious freedom and free speech advocate Jimmy Lai has been sentenced to twenty years in prison for publishing articles against the communist Chinese government. Lai is a British Citizen and an adherent of the Catholic Church. World journalists are marking the case as a worldwide setback for freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The United Kingdom home office has responded to the news. The Hong Kong Free Press reports that “British national status holders will be able to immigrate into the U.K. with their children. The office estimates that 26,000 people will arrive in the U.K. over the next five years.” Thousands of Tanzanians murdered Political upheaval, tyranny, and blood in the streets is the order of the day in Tanzania over the last few months. Some reports have revealed the government of President Samia Suluhu Hassan killed thousands of Tanzanians. Hassan is a Muslim who was re-elected in a landslide victory last October, marred by accusations of massive fraud. That's when the African country was plunged into chaos and rioting. The bloodshed and terror has gone on for months, reports The Washington Stand. In an effort to conceal the atrocities taking place there, the government has reportedly shut down the internet. Tanzania is at least nominally Christian with a 57 percent Christian population and a 37 percent Muslim population, as the Muslim creep hits south Saharan Africa. Christian martyrdom grows with Muslim population in Nigeria Islamic influence is growing in Nigeria as well — a nation where 56 percent of the population is Muslim and 43 percent is Christian. This has resulted in the martyrdom of 50,000 Christians and the displacement of millions of Christians from their homeland. Pray for our Christian brothers and sisters and the people of Tanzania, Nigeria, and Uganda. Civilian killings continue in Nigeria Last Tuesday, almost 200 Nigerians were killed by gunmen in the communities of Woro and Katsina, reports the International Center for Transitional Justice. Woro is located in the western Nigerian state of Kwara, while Katsina is in the northern region of the country. Psalm 35:1 says, “Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.” War Department will no longer work with Harvard War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the War Department will no longer send military officers to Harvard. He slammed the university for what he called its support of terrorism and the Chinese Communist Party. Hegseth said, “Too many of our officers came back looking too much like Harvard — heads full of globalist and radical ideologies that do not improve our fighting ranks.” The War Department is set to re-evaluate all Ivy League school partnerships. Virginia Democrats unveil gerrymandered congressional map Democrat lawmakers in Virginia put forward a new congressional map heading into the midterm elections this November. The Old Dominion state map heavily favors Democrats, giving them four extra seats, while the Republicans would lose four seats. This comes after the Supreme Court ruled that the new congressional map for California was valid, giving Democrats five additional seats. Virginia Democrats swept the last election, winning races for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. All told, gerrymandering in Virginia, California, and a few other states should yield the Democrats an additional 5 to 9 seats in Congress in 2026. And gerrymandering in Texas, North Carolina, and Missouri could yield the Republicans an additional 6 to 10 seats in the upcoming election. Connecticut works to expand abortion access Connecticut is launching a billboard campaign to promote abortion and death, reports LifeSiteNews. The campaign, sponsored by the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation, is advertising the state's commitment to make the killing of unborn children more accessible. Billboards will announce a state-provided pro-abortion hotline. Connecticut Democrat Attorney General William Tong talked about his state's culture of death. He said, “Abortion is safe, legal and accessible here in Connecticut, and that's the way it's going to stay.” But Proverbs 31:9 instructs us to “Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.” GOP Rep chastises NBC & NFL for Bad Bunny's foul lyrics And finally, Sunday's Super Bowl half-time show turned into one big leftist political statement with Benito Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny, and a few other characters, who openly opposed President Trump's “America First” policies. To his shame, the Puerto Rican singer sang a bunch of foul-mouthed, sexually-explicit lyrics in Spanish. Republican Congressman Randy Fine of Florida did not pull any punches in his X post. He wrote, “You can't say the f-word on live TV. Bad Bunny's disgusting halftime show was illegal. Had he said these lyrics -- and all of the other disgusting and pornographic filth -- in English on live TV, the broadcast would have been pulled down and the fines would have been enormous. “We are sending FCC Chairman Brendan Carr a letter calling for dramatic action, including fines and broadcast license reviews, against the NFL, NBC, and Bad Bunny. Lock them up.” You can send a short 2-4 sentence letter to FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, urging him to levy these fines. The address is Federal Communications Commission, 45 L Street NE, Washington, DC 20554. Kid Rock, on Turning Point USA's half-time show, pointed to Christ Meanwhile, Turning Point USA, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, simulcast their alternative “All-American Halftime Show” featuring Robert Ritchie known as Kid Rock. Some 20 to 30 million Americans tuned in, reports Fox News. Kid Rock threw in another verse to the hit song “Til You Can't.” Check out the lyrics. KID ROCK: “There's a book a'sitting in your house somewhere that could use some dusting off . . . There's a man who died for all our sins a'hanging from the cross. You can give your life to Jesus and He'll give you a second chance, till you can't.” Other performers included Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. War Secretary Pete Hegseth and House Speaker Mike Johnson both praised the Turning Point event, reports Politico.
