Praying Informed Prayers: Praying Against Anxiety Did you know that as Christians, we should be praying the word of God? One of the most powerful things we can do for ourselves as Christians/believers/Christ followers is to be informed by the word. As we inform ourselves with the word, our spirits are better able to combat the lies of the enemy with the truth. Every problem in life can be solved in this way .. even anxiety. Let's talk about. Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Psalms 46:10 NIV “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”” Additional References 1 John 4:18 NIV “There is no fear in love. "You can't be pro-Science and be a Christian" - The World. Is this claim true though? Is it possible for science and the Bible to actually align, or are they vehemently opposed to one another? On this podcast, Pastor Jackie and Pastor Derek talk through some historical examples of claims the Bible has made regarding the world that science once disagreed with, but has actually come around to agree with! There are numerous other examples as well, but we encourage you to listen in and hope that this episode reminds you to take God's Word at face value and allow your view of science to be shaped by the Word, not the other way around! The 17:17 podcast is a ministry of Roseville Baptist Church (MN) that seeks to tackle cultural issues and societal questions from a biblical worldview so that listeners discover what the Bible has to say about the key issues they face on a daily basis. Jesus prayed for all true disciples to be perfected in unity. The Bible teaches that this is a unity of mind, love, spirit and purpose. The unity of the church is the platform of it's witness. When we drift from the mission we allow room for division which results in a failed witness to the lost. Join us as we examine the ways Jesus calls us to unity.JOHN 17:20-23PHILIPPIANS 2:21 CORINTHIANS 1:10-13PHILIPPIANS 2:2COLOSSIANS 3:12-14PHILIPPIANS 2:2COLOSSIANS 3:10-11PHILIPPIANS 2:2PHILIPPIANS 1:27ADDITIONAL REFERENCES:COLOSSIANS 3:2MATTHEW 22:37PHILIPPIANS 2:3JOHN 13:34-35ROMANS 10:12-13

The Gospel of John tells us that Jesus came forth from God and was going back to God. Jesus is not the Father or the Holy Spirit, but He is the fullness of God in bodily form. The Bible explains to us that Jesus was the agent through whom God created the world. Jesus has all authority over Heaven and Earth. Jesus has authority even to forgive sin, raise the dead and receive worship. Every generation, people and culture worldwide have talked and written at length about a dark force at work behind the evil we encounter. Though he has gone by many names, The Bible calls him the Devil and Satan. What is the devil? Where is he? What does he do? What will be his ultimate destiny? Despite witnessing so many signs, the crowds of Jesus' day still refused to believe. Seeing their perpetual unbelief, God hardened their hearts so they would remain blind and numb to the truth. The Bible warns, “Seek the Lord, while He may be found.” Those you continue to stop their ears to the voice of God risk the eternal consequence of being hardened past the point of no return.JOHN 12:37-43JOHN 12:37-43JOHN 12:40EXODUS 3:19EXODUS 7, 8 & 9 MISCROMANS 1:21, 24, 28JOHN 12:42-43MATTHEW 10:32-39ADDITIONAL REFERENCES:ISAIAH 45:22ISAIAH 55:6HEBREWS 3 & 4EPHESIANS 4:18-19
Many people refuse Jesus not for lack of signs and evidence, but rather for the cost. Following Jesus requires repentance from sin and full surrender of our lives. Caiaphas like many today sought to destroy Jesus so many would not believe in Him. In divine irony, it would be the very thing that still draw the masses to saving faith today. Many have a general faith in God. However, true salvation only comes through specific faith in Jesus. Jesus declared to Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life.” Then He asked her an eternally important question: “Do you believe this?” Our answer to that same question will determine our eternity.TURN-TO REFERENCESJOHN 11:17-22JOHN 11:6, 15JOHN 11:23-26JOHN 11:27ADDITIONAL REFERENCESJUDGES 7:2ACTS 17JOHN 10:9JOHN 14:6ACTS 4:12ROMANS 10:9
