I've come to realize that Joy, being joyful, finding….JOY…is obedience. We are commanded to be joyful; it is not optional. “always be filled with joy in the Lord.” What does that look like, it's really simple. We make joy hard. A lot of us hold on to our past mistakes because we think we deserve the torment of our memories. But what if I told you that The basis for forgiving ourselves is the kindness and compassion of God for us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 4:32 says “and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.” God needs you to forgive yourself so that others may experience the grace of His forgiveness through the example of your freedom. God has a promise for you and for me. However, the only way we will see the promise is if we are able to endure. Everything that has happened to get you this far was designed to get you where you are supposed to be. Every neglection, every feeling of abandonment, every failure, every disappointment, every no, every try again, every obstacle, every stunt. It all has purpose.

I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope. JEREMIAH 29:11 (CSB) Most times when we read that scripture, we read it from the NIV version that says, PROSPER. We get so stuck on God prospering us that when we're in the trenches, we don't see where the prospering is.. but I want to encourage you as we start this year to rest in the PEACE of God! Matthew 6:34 tells us, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Here's the thing. WE can only control what we can control! When we focus more intentionally on the things we can control and leave the rest to God, our lives prove to be more fulfilling. Today, I pray your faith encounters the authority within you and that you are obedient to the instruction that could produce your miracle. Today I pray that because of your faithfulness..life, if only slowly, but surely gets BETTER THAN BEFORE! -DMK

Today…I pray that you are gentle with yourself as a mother, a parent, a mother figure, a parent figure, or village support. Be gentle and know that your PRESENCE means more to your children & family than any gift you could give. Being willing to seek the wisdom that you may not have at the moment you need it. I pray that you are reminded of God's conversation with Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9 where he says “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Today…REST IN THE POWER THAT IS SUFFICIENT! God's power. God's power is able to show up and HELP US PARENT! And today….I don't know about you… but I'M GOING TO LET GOD DO WHAT I CAN'T DO! - D. Michele

Today, I pray that you are Hopeful. I get it, sometimes life happens and we think we don't have a lot to look forward to. But I believe that if we truly lean into God's power and rest in the HOPE that He gives us. We will have the power to endure the day! And ultimately overcome our challenging circumstances. Hope is a small word, but it is very powerful. Why? Because in hope lies the power of our humanity to turn to God and live as if His promises are going to come true. Because they are!! Welcome to Season 2 of MORNING C.E.R.E.A.L. I know, I know, what a break! But we're back, so pull up to the table, grab your bowl and let's scoop in. Here at Morning C.E.R.E.A.L. We have Conversations Encouraging Relevant Examinations Around Life and boy has LIFE given me some bites since the last time we scooped in together. So, I pray that this season you are encouraged by the random pours that will happen around this bowl. If we don't understand or know anything else, we must know that LIFE IS GOING TO LIFE! PERIOD! We can't plan for it, but we can prepare for it. By making sure our hearts and minds are clear and open to see how does THIS make sense, whatever your THIS IS ...I want to encourage you through it!

My friends, Today I want to encourage you to be gentle with those who frustrate you. Be gentle with those who irritate you, be gentle with your self. The reason God can be so gentle and compassionate with us is because He knows that we are mere humans. We are, dust. Which means sometimes we're weak. He knows we're not perfect. He's knows we won't always get it right. But He is gentle. He gives second chanceS. He gives….GRACE. Today I pray that you are Gentle. I pray that you are as gentle with others as God is with you. Today, I pray that you extend the Grace of God. Extend love. Extend kindness. Extend hope. Give yourself room to hope. Hope for the best. Hope for healing. Hope for manifestation. Hope to get it right. So today… be gentle and DON'T CUSS NOBODY OUT TODAY!!! Especially not yourself! - D. Michele

Here's the thing...God already chose YOU... and YOU are His treasure! You are precious. You are valuable. You are a gem! And I know that with that sometimes comes a weight of heaviness. A weight of expectation. When you are a person of value, people will see that and try to hold you in a place that is only convenient for you to be valuable to them. But God has created you to be so much more than the box that people want to keep you in. You are special and unique. You are set apart. And there's a purpose for that. Your life changes lives. Your gift is a gift. It is not by coincidence that you think the way you think, have the faith that you have, even if it's just a mustard seed. You are valuable and necessary and you know it. - D. Today, I want to encourage you to have the confidence of a child. As we grow up, we are only introduced to the word “failure” when someone else tells us. We don't even know that failure is apart of life until someone else tells us, 'hey, you can't do that.' Children only know, it hasn't happened YET. And they are determined until YET happens. Today, be encourage that YET is on the way. Standing alone, is on the way. The success of that idea, is on the way. The love that you've waited for, is on the way. The vision that you feel in your heart, it's on the way. Yes, failure often times precedes success, but the beauty in that is that precedes means BEFORE. Before is a PREPosition. Your failure is just PREP for your success. Keep trying. Get up and try again. Rework it. Reimagine it. Reinvent it. Have the confidence of a child. - D. Michele

Here's the thing.... So often in life we hold back the very essence of our being to make other people comfortable. We walk on egg shells and we dim our lights so that those around us don't feel blinded by our natural shine. Today, forget all that! Today, PURSUE YOU! Pursue the BEST YOU! Pursue the dreams that in your heart. Pursue the love that is in your soul. Pursue the peace that is on your mind. Pursue the victory you want to see! No longer will you live beneath the majesticness (yes, I made that word up) of who God has created you to be. Your purpose may not look the same to others, but it is perfect when in the will of God. You are GIFTED for this! Every accolade you have be given, every word of encouragement, every high five, every goal that you've check off, every win that won when they told you you would lose, YOU DESERVE IT! SO PURSUE MORE! PURSUE GOD. PURSUE YOU! - D. Michele

So here's the thing.... Your second chance starts every single day. Every single day we wake up we get a SECOND CHANCE! Sometimes we get so caught up in our mess ups and failures that we don't realize our mess ups and failures are beautiful moments to respond to God. When we have encounters with God, our lives feel better, our lives become clearer and we feel better about ourselves and our days and in that we are able to move mountains and shifts paradigms of thinking. Today, I want to remind you that YOU have access to a second chance. Accept it. - D. Michele

Mark 10:27 “Looking at them, Jesus *said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” Ya'll you may feel like you're at the end of your ropes. That you've exhausted all of your options. That you are stuck. That this is the best that it's going to get. But today, God wants me to remind you to EMBRACE THE POSSIBILITIES of His promise! And His promises NEVER fail. Remind yourself of these promises: God is always good. God is always with me. God is faithful. God is kind and compassionate. God loves me deeply, no matter what. I AM A POSSIBILITY! Today, embrace the possibilites and be hopeful. Be joyful. Live in the truth of God's promises and see how your life changes! - D. Michele

Here's the thing, the reality is life offers us blessings and curses, good and evil. But guess what, even with that, it is still our CHOICE and responsibility to choose good if that is what we want to have. Our choices have consequences and today I pray that you CHOOSE WELL! CHOOSE GOOD THOUGHTS. CHOOSE BLESSINGS! CHOOSE ABUNDANCE. CHOOSE HAPPINESS. CHOOSE LOVE. CHOOSE GOD! How you choose to feel and be directly impacts your moods and your everyday thoughts. Today, we are going to THINK WELL! Although we do not always have the power to change unpleasant circumstances in our lives, we do have the power to change our outlook. I don't know about you, but one of things I want out of this earthly life is to be happy. I want to enjoy it. But I would be lying if I didn't admit that there were a better part of my days that I wasted because I thought that my joy and enjoyment came from my circumstances. So if my circumstances were off, so was my joy. But then my spirit caught hold to one of my favorite encouraging scriptures that you will here me reference very often, Romans 8:28, for we know that God causes everything to work together for the GOOD of those who love him and are called according to his purpose. Once I locked in on that guys, I realized, this storm can't kill me. This burden can't weigh me down. This circumstance isn't my end all be all. There is GOOD on the other side of this! There is GOOD on the other side! So, I changed my attitude and I vowed to let that change my life! I encourage you to do the same! - D. Michele

Today I encourage you to work towards your better condition! Work towards that health goal. That work goal. That educational goal. That family goal. A better condition of your relationship with God. A better condition of YOU! Spend this day intentionally carving out some time to do a check up on your labor towards your better condition. And FIGHT! Don't give up on yourself because you fell by the way side before. Don't give up on yourself because the enemy wants you to feel guilty for striving for better than before! Today you focus your attention on your better condition. - D. Michele

Today, I encourage you to examine your life and see what small alteration or movement you need to make to achieve a desired fit, appearance for result. So many are seeking God for various things and wondering when it will hit our lives! Today, you realize that YOU ARE FLEXIBLE! YOU CAN ADJUST. NO, things aren't perfect nor are you ready to make major moves, but you can adjust. You don't have to break. You can adjust. You don't have to give up. You can adjust. You don't have all the right words, but you can adjust your complaint to gratitude. Today I want to remind you that you are not breakable, you are flexible! SO FLEX and MAKE THE ADJUSTMENTS!! - D. One reason God created time was so that there would be a place to bury the failures of the past. The past is something that should be forgotten, unfortunately, a lot of people let it define them. So, why do we, especially believers, still hold on to things of the past? Why do we let others use the past to make us feel miserable? Scripture in Isaiah says “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing. You have a clean slate. I don't care if you have to tell yourself that every single day, SAY IT! Because today, It's the Clean Slate for me!! - D. Michele

Today is YOUR day. REDEEM YOUR TIME! Make the best of it. Today, I pray you know that you are LIGHT. The world is full of a lot of dark corners and dark people. Give the world your light. Make the best of every opportunity because the days are evil. Know that God has a purpose and a plan for you and He needs you to make the best of the time he has given you.

Good morning! Here's the thing. There is something burning inside of you to accomplish, but you find yourself sitting in fear of timing. Don't wait to tap into your power. The perfect time, is the time that you have….and that's now!! So…go be powerful through Christ that strengthens you!! Why wait? The world needs you. In JESUS NAME! - D. Michele

Today is a great day to start a new beginning of choosing the 16 things of Love! The number 8 is often seen as symbol of new beginnings but also spiritual purity and kindness. The number 16 is strongly associated with love and it's manifestations. So today, I want you to carve out time to be intentional about LOVE. What the world needs now, is Love and you can CHOOSE to be God's walking manifestation. BE THAT!
