Join Brandon Malo as he speaks from the book of Acts 3 & 4, continuing to learn about what it means to be the church. The story of Jesus is an invitation and a call to action, and we see this demonstrated in the lives of his first followers.

This week Pastor Steve launched our advent series walking through how we can prepare for the coming of Jesus by connecting our journey to Mary's journey, one of simple submission. It ended with a challenge to centering prayer, please find a description for centering prayer below that can guide you this Christmas Season. Centering Prayer This form of prayer finds its roots in Lectio Divina. It moves us and helps us prepare to contemplate the gift of God's presence with us. It is founded on our relationship with God, through the life of Jesus and it nurtures our relationship with God so that we are aware of God's presence more readily in our daily life. Centering prayer is not meant to replace other modes of prayer but instead works to support our more verbal, or affective prayers. The primary focus is for us to grow in our relationship with God and move beyond conversation with God and into simple restful communion. It is recommended that you engage in this practice a couple times a day, for twenty minutes each time you enter in. If you are not accustomed to silence, we want to invite you to build your way up to twenty minutes, starting with 10, and slowly adding time until twenty minutes seems not long enough for this restful prayer. It is our hope that centering prayer would deepen your relationship with the Divine, an awareness of the Triune God, Father, Spirit and Living Son. We also hope that through these practices you grow to know God's heart and your heart for God's people would help to expand into communities of love and support. Instructions • Quiet Your Mind - Close your eyes, be still and open yourself up to God's presence. Make sure you are comfortable and centre yourself in silence. Become aware of your backbone, and sit up in a way that your head is high and your chest is open so that you can be aware of your Head, Heart and Body, with your hands rested in your lap. • Consider - a sacred word, an image or focus on your breath. Each time you feel yourself getting distracted use your sacred breath, image or word to recenter yourself of God's presence. It is important to be gracious with yourself, it doesn't matter how often you use your sacred word, it brings you back to an awareness of God. • Open - yourself and allow God to be with you, allow God to just be within you, give your undivided attention and love to God. • Refocus - Whenever you notice your thoughts pulling yourself in another direction use your sacred word to recenter inwards towards God. • Give Thanks - As your prayer time comes to a close, give thanks to God for just being with you, and slowly transition back to your everyday activities.

Being able to truly listen to others is not easy, so many things can get in our way. Pastor Steve unpacks how we can begin to truly hear each other by battling "busyness". As we work through the parable of the ten bridesmaids (Matthew 25:1-13) Pastor Steve challenges us to develop a rule of life and to evaluate that measure every time we encounter a major life event. As a Christian we often think that we have to add something new, this can become overwhelming to already busy schedules, sometimes by inviting God and our community help us shape our rule of life we may find that there are some good things that we need to stop doing so that we can start doing things that will help us prepare extra oil, things that will let us encounter God's Kingdom life for us each and every day as we also invite others to share in that life by following where Jesus is calling. Being able to truly listen to others is not easy. Pastor Steve unpacks how we can begin to truly hear each other by setting down our doubt. This week we take a look at Mathew 5:13-20. At this point the crowds following Jesus were mixed with disciples and pharisees. In this part of His sermon Jesus talks about how it is more important to get out there to be the salt and light with what we have right now. You see the Pharisees really believed that the law was important but the truth is it wasn't changing the way they lived, Jesus challenges us to be truly transformed by the law to become more like Him. Help us bring your Kingdom invitation out to them and all Your Children. We wrap up our Easter series with the parable of the sower, asking bigger questions about the seeds that God is sowing in our life and where we can do some work to help prepare the good soil. How moving rocks can help create space for soil, how pulling weeds can help build up the soil and helps prevent weeds from going to seed, how watching the things we go to most frequently can help us find the blind spots where we might be missing God. The Good news is that just like the sower sows new seeds every year, God sows seeds for us to join in that full Kingdom Life today and he isn't pointing out the ones we missed to shame us but to help encourage us to keep trying. This week Pastor Steve wraps up our SIMPLE series on Acts 1&2 by outlining just what we can do to engage in our next step of discipleship so that we can be ready to disciple others.

Join us for Part 4 of the I AM - Who is God Series today at 10:15 AM for today's St. Paul's Discover Life teaching with Pastor Steve Kerr. This week we will be looking at How God's Spirit is our Advocate, Counselor, and Comforter.  A look at how we are, our bodies are God's Temple on Earth. As part of our service, we will celebrate communion together, so although it doesn't need to be grape juice and bread.

We dive into what seems like the first in a couple of messages on forgiveness; it is our hope that you can start by fully embracing your own forgiveness. Remember God loves you and created you no matter what you have done, the work that Jesus did when He came and lived with us, when He showed us how to live, when He died for us, that was for you!! Jesus message was for everyone and you are worth it, you don't need to do anything except say yes to the gift and take your next step into a relationship with God.

We look forward to joining you in worship Sunday morning. We are excited to begin to worship together in body as well as spirit again. A huge thank you to those who have volunteered countless hours behind the scenes in preparing for our services to open in-person starting today. This weekend we enter a new series called "Called".

As Christians we are called to journey in relationship with others, encouraging and equipping new Christians while continually growing in our own faith and relationship with God. This discipleship cycle only works when we submit to each other in the great model of family that was laid out in the beginning by God and when we bring all our gifts to the table so that we can all share and grow.

We are called into community, to live together in relationship with God, humanity and creation.  Sometimes we get stuck in our own relationship with God, but our faith, our invitation is personal not private we were always meant to share it with others, inviting them to discover the abundant Kingdom life God has for all of us.

We each have a mission to join in with God's plan to renew all things. The good news is that God besides saving us and including us in the plan to renew everything; God also equips us by giving us every gift and tool we need to join in with His Kingdom vision.
