Well folks, I gotta say, the episode I have for you right here is surely bound to make you both hoot and holler- concurrently I would imagine. As I said, Henry is finally back and shoot fire, we got down to business. Now we're just a couple of standard edition whites, so take our pontificating with a grain of salt. And maybe a rock of high-octane crack cocaine. As is protocol- we discuss relativity in the ideas of good and evil, social media, raising children, galactic colonization, whether or not Elon Musk is a freak, and all the generally hot button issues of the day. You might love it. Hell, you might hate it. The important thing is you listen, so that I may one day die in peace. Don't forget to check us out on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @TheObscureCurio Check out our YouTube videos and short film at www.Youtube.com/TheObscureCurio Support us for only a dollar a month at www.Patreon.com/TheObscureCurio And find links to our Merch, Discord, Etc. at: www.theobscurecurio.com
Alright folks, I hate to tell you- but I am back today with our first solo episode in quite some time. Now, I know nobody asked for this. Hell, I reckon no one in their right mind would- but it had to be done. This train, as they say, has to keep a movin. And this chunk of coals gotta keep burning. So to keep the show on the road, I recorded this bad boy for you. Listen, it ain't gonna be for everyone. But if you're inclined to self-destruction, hell, give her a shot. I know I did. www.patreon.com/theobscurecurio www.theobscurecurio.com
Alright folks, we are back with another voluptuous little potato of a show for you today. Join us as we recount the skateboarding revival of the early 2000's that swept the Midwest like a swifter wet jet. In doing so, we realize how many of our current interest and passions were first discovered, in some link, through skating. How much did Baker 3, MTV's line-up of Jackass and Viva La Bam, Fuse TV, and the movie Grind ultimately shape our lives in small-town Kentucky? Well, that's for you to listen to and find out. You'd also really be doing us a solid if you checked out a few things of ours. Namely, our Facebook, twitter, and Instagram pages @theobscurecurio There's also of course www.patreon.com/theobscurecurio- where you can support the show, get exclusive content, and soon- receive shoutouts on the podcast, YouTube videos, and future short film projects. AND you can do this for just a dollar a month. For our private discord server, merch, and more, you can check out www.theobscurecurio.com
Folks, I would be lying to ya if I said this episode wasn't an absolute gobstopper. Most notably, we didn't talk about nerd movies or mma once for pretty much the entire episode. Joey was in real rare form, and we had what I believe was one hell of a time. Such a good time, in fact, that I think you'll have an equally good time just by listening to it. Hell, its worth a shot, isn't it? Whether you're into hollow earth or swallow girth, super spirituality, or sea-faring maladies, this one's got something for you. I sure hope you enjoy and go tell all you're little friends to check it out. We sure would appreciate it. Of course, don't forget to follow us on social media @theobscurecurio Check us out at Youtube.com/TheObscureCurio and Patreon.com/TheObscureCurio for exclusive content And find links to everything else at www.theobscurecurio.com Thanks for listening.

As some of you may be aware- southwestern Kentucky, as well as parts of Missouri and Kansas were hit by a record-breaking tornado early this morning, Saturday December 11th. In Kentucky alone there are officially upwards of 50 casualties, with close to 100 expected to be confirmed. It was a real tragedy that was largely unexpected and unfortunately unafforded. So, if you have it both in your hearts and in your wallets to help even in a small way- I encourage you to donate to the Western KY Red Cross- who will be leading the way in cleanup and relief. They are taking donations through their Facebook page: https://bit.ly/3pP2OC3 Okay folks, I have a great show for yous guys today. Wampus and I are live and in raw action- discussing tonight's UFC 269 Oliveira Vs Poirier, our potential Mount Rushmore of MMA, Alien Invasion, The Singularity, Pop Tarts, Top Parts, and More. Today's episode of the podcast will be the second in a series diving into Australian Independent music. Before we get ahead of ourselves, let me give a little context to those who may not be familiar. We do a live version of the podcast every weeknight at twitch.tv/TheObscureCurio. Good friend and co-host of our live streams, MeatTray- who himself, if you can believe it, is indeed Australian, was kind enough to send me 3 cassette mix tapes featuring some of his favorite tracks from his own collection. This segmented podcast series will cover those tracks as we listen together and of course discuss the music and artist contained wherein. Only short clips were used to provide context for review, but you can find a playlist link in the description to this episode that will take you to the full track and the artist themselves. We will have a new link with new artist for each of these that we do, so be sure to check those out if you're interested in any of the artist featured. This episode was also recorded for the first time with our Patreon Patrons listening in and commenting live. This episode of The Obscure Curio is proudly brought to you by JetBlack Empowerment. Those of you that have kept up with the show know that as of March of this year, I have spent increasingly more time livestreaming my podcasts via the Podbean app. Here, with a few fellow podcasters and livestreamers- we formed a non-profit organization to help with some of the problems we found ourselves commonly discussing on our programs. This is the condensed version of how JetBlack Empowerment was formed- in the coming weeks I hope to better illustrate the depth of the organization and all it hopes to accomplish. In short, our mission statement reads as follows: JetBlack Empowerment is an ever-evolving organization. Envisioned and materialized with the sole purpose of supporting, empowering, and shining the light on Black owned businesses and Business ventures. By doing so, further educating present and future black entrepreneurs on their Journey to Financial freedom and economic sustainability, all while laying a foundation for community enrichment. So please check out Jet Black Empowerment on Facebook @JetBlackEMP and on Twitter and Instagram @JetBlack_EMP. And coming soon you can find us at www.jetblackempowerment.org I am only a member of the organization and my podcast alone does not claim to speak for the organization and represent it outside of my present capacity. If you have not already, please check out the Podbean app. In addition to being a traditional podcatching app, where you can listen to all of your favorite shows, it also boasts a great audio-only livestreaming platform that is home to tons of excellent podcasters and entertainers. As always, check us out on both Facebook and Twitter @TheObscureCurio. Please also check out our YouTube channel, where we also do livestreaming. Check out our Patreon at www.patreon.com/theobscurecurio Check out our merch on Teespring, links provided in the description as well. www.teespring.com/stores/The-Obscure-Curio Alright, today's episode is another I have taken from one of my most recent livestreams. It features live calls from several other members of JetBlack Empowerment, discussing some of the issues of today. Callers include Bandz, Ace, Will, Jimmy, and others. If you like what you hear, come join us for my next livestream x
Thanks for coming back to The Obscure Curio. Today, I share with you one of my recent live casts from Podbean. In it, I take calls and respond to comments from people all over the world. This particular episode seemed to revolve around the topics of police brutality and racism, in the wake of the recent murder of George Floyd. While having a very productive conversation, in my opinion, one of the callers impersonates Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys. This continues for nearly the entire length of the episode. It was definitely an interesting one. Thanks for coming back for another episode of The Obscure Curio. This episode is another recording of one of my Podbean Live Streams, this one featuring the one and only Uncle Chris Buckley. I, as always, had a great time talking with Chris. During this episode we discuss our hopes for Generation Z, some of the optimistic endings we may have to the current global crisis, and the unfortunate "business" side of a pandemic. We also discuss some of the finer points of growing up in the south and, in the process, give a one-of-a-kind lesson on the differences between all the beautiful southern cities. This one was truly a pleasure to record and is a definite gem of an episode. Enjoy. Support the show: www.patreon.com/theobscurecurio Check out our merch: www.teespring.com/stores/the-obscure-curio x
