“I was never so tightly wound as the night we transmitted the show directly from ABC in Los Angeles to New York. We basically went live.”– Sheryl Main, post-production supervisor, MoonlightingSusan and Sharon take you “behind the scenes” with Moonlighting post-production supervisor – and legendary publicity strategist Sheryl Main. As a Unit Publicist, she's worked on such films as Creed 3, Judas and the Black Messiah, The Expendables, Terminator 3, The Perks of Being A Wallflower and collaborated with hundreds of celebrities including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Clint Eastwood, Emma Watson – and everyone in between! But she "cut her teeth" with Moonlighting. Sheryl talks about the “insanely creative” atmosphere created by Glenn Gordon Caron, the long hours and crazy good times – and the lifelong friends she “met on the way.”THE CONVERSATIONExperiencing sexism and harassment in the movie industry: The Pope of Greenwich Village director “Stuart Rosenberg sent me home for wearing pink jeans. So Mickey Rourke said: “$*@! him. Work with me. Be my assistant.”When she interviewed to be Bruce Willis's assistant, she recognized him – as “Bruno Radolini” – his musical alter ego from New York!Moonlighting on Moonlighting: “The editors pulled all-nighters. They slept there. But we had fun.”On Glen Gordon Caron: “He changed TV when you think about it. Everything we did from ‘Atomic Shakespeare' to the black and white episode to… well, we thought we killed Orson Wells.”ARNOLD AND SLY AND BRUCE AND ME: “They all impacted my career and my life in different ways."On Arnold the Governor: “We went up there thinking ‘Woo-Hoo! We're gonna change the world! But the mechanism in place doesn't want you to change the world.”On Bruce Willis: “He was a craftsman with words. He could memorize a scene in a minute. What's happening with him… it's heartbreaking. I wouldn't have a career without him.”So, join Susan and Sharon – and Sheryl – as they talk crisis-managing Rust, partying in Cybil's trailer, Dennis Dugan, The Expendables, Jed the Fish on KROQ -- and the “Curtis Armstrong Day” parade!AUDIOGRAPHYCheck out Moonlighting: The Podcast: https://moonlightingthepodcast.com/ Watch Moonlighting on Hulu.Stream it on Apple TV or at Amazon Prime Video.Follow Glenn Gordon Caron on Twitter.com/GlennGCaron.80s TV LADIES NEWSSusan's new play Confidence (and the Speech) has been published! Now available for purchase and licensing at DPS via Broadway Licensing.CONNECTRead transcripts and more at 80sTVLadies.com.Tell us your fav Moonlighting episodes at 8TL Facebook or via 80sTVLadies.com.Sign up for the 80s TV Ladies mailing list.Get ad-free episodes and exclusive videos on PATREON.Find more cool podcasts at our host sight, Weirding Way Media.

Part 2 Insane. Disturbed. Wanted. Fugitive. Cult Leader. While these words could be used to describe Acomi and Turk182, they're being used to describe the multifaceted human being known as Ezra Miller. Known as the very talented star of indie movies like We Need To Talk About Kevin, Afterschool, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower, they/he has gone the wrong way around the sun and is completely nucking futs. Punching people in stores, disrupting karaoke, kidnapping children... Ezra is definitely going after Acomi's Guinness Book award. Wanted by the police is multiple states for various crimes, EM was on the run and in hiding. Having recently turned himself in, the big question on everyone's mind is... "What about The Flash movie?!" The much talked about and expected movie, rumored to bring balance to the DCEU - DC (comics) Extended Universe - like Anakin Skywalker did the force, and set the course for future films. Is the movie in jeopardy due to EM's wacky antics? Or, is Warner Brothers using their muscle to smooth things out with EM and the cops to keep the film alive? And, what's the deal with EM and why did he go wicky in the wacky woo? Acomi and Turk breakdown the timeline of events and question, did EM go bananas, or was he always crazy? #OMTWF #Acomi #Turk182 #KorovaEntertainment #EzraMiller #DCEU #DCCinematic #DCComics #DCmovies #JusticeLeaguemovie #ZachSnyder #SnyderCut #Flash #TheFlash #Flashmovie #BarryAllen Follow Acomi on Twitter at @AcomiDraws and on Instagram at AcomiDraws. **Please see disclaimer before listening** This week on the pod Dave, John and Jeff engage in a civil discussion about the polarizing new film Dear Evan Hansen, which was released theatrically 9/24/2021. We are a positive criticism podcast where each host has to drink anytime we say anything negative about a film. The critics said so many negative things and we hate those kind of critics. They were probably right about this film but f them anyway. We got to work in an attempt to find the good in this movie musical starring Ben Platt, Julianne Moore, Amy Adams and Kaitlyn Dever. The movie was directed by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being A Wallflower), written by Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. **disclaimer- This conversation covers topics such as teenage suicide as two different characters in the film struggled with this issue. We also discuss how it was used in the plot, which can be a difficult conversation to hear. If you are struggling or know anybody struggling with harmful thoughts, call 1-800-273-8255 and skip this episode.** Find all of our Socials at: https://linktr.ee/theloveofcinema Music: soundcloud.com/dasein-artist. This week we are joined by two guests — Martha's roommate Zach and MJ's brother Marc — to chat about 'Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda,' A.K.A. the book that inspired the movie 'Love, Simon.'Then, inspired by Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda, we talk about books we wish we had growing up, including The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chobosky. And as always, we close the show with recommendations: Zach, Martha's roommate, recommends the Netflix show The Words Most Extraordinary Homes. "The show is perfect because one: it is British. There are two British co-hosts and they are just lovely people, because they are absolutely the most genuine. They just go around and look at beautiful homes and talk about the architecture. It's so simple and so perfect." Marc recommends Bravo's reality TV show Vanderpump Rules. "It is pop culture junk food. It's an awful, awful show. But you see yourself in it, in a strange way." He also recommends Scaachi Cole's essay on Buzzfeed “'Vanderpump Rules' Is The Worst Show On TV That You Should Be Watching." "It's super, super funny read, and it's just a super well written essay." Martha recommends Vince Staple's Go Fund Me project "Get Off My D*ck or Fund My Lifestyle," which was a response to critics saying that Vince Staples raps over low quality robot beats. "I love the song first of all and I love him. But it made me think about the larger cultural conversation about people's critiques about black art, and how a lot of people who write online, or talk about hip hop, don't get it." MJ recommends "I wore Adidas tracksuits for week like Armie Hammer," a first person story where Elle writer Estelle Tang, well, wore Adidas tracksuits for a week like Armie Hammer. "The story she wrote is phenomenal, it's so funny. It's just this really great hilarious article about someone doing this ridiculous stunt." Also mentioned on this podcast: our interview with Tomi Adeyemi, author of Children of Blood and Bone and Alim Kheraj's article for GQ "The Bright Future of Queer Literature Is the Young-Adult Novel." And be sure to check out MJ's review of Love, Simon here.Next week, we're reading A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L'Engle. We hope you'll join us.
