Wrapping up a trilogy is always a tough pumpkin to carve -- a lesson director David Gordon Green learned with Halloween Ends, the climax of his otherwise financially successful Blumhouse "legacy" series that began with 2018's Halloween and carried through with 2021's Halloween Kills. Despite strong production values and the return of Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, the film met with fan backlash and muted box office returns, due in part to the shift in focus from Michael Myers to a new slasher character, the unpopular Corey. Tread Perilously's tour of slashers on television continues with an episode The Alfred Hitchcock Hour called "An Unlocked Window." When a slasher targets nurses in an unidentified town, Stella and Betty find themselves tending to a sick professor at his remote home in the countryside. Also helping out are a groundskeeper, Sam, and there's Maude, the housekeeper. But when Betty discovers the oxygen tank is low, Sam leaves for the city and the three women are terrorized by the news that the killer is within two miles of the house. Did forgetful Stella lock all the windows and all the doors? Is the killer already inside? Erik and Justin discuss Hitchcock as a problematic fave. Erik is shocked to learn the story is not inspired by Richard Speck. The pair also inspect the reliance on twists in thrillers. They also rank the Predator movies. Justin admits he watched Halloween Kills more than once. More DCU casting wishes occur. The longer runtime of 1960s television proves to be a problem once again. Justin's knowledge of medieval weaponry comes into play. Actor Louise Latham proves to be the episode MVP for Erik thanks to her performance as Maude and more horror movie discussions lead to the weeds.

Douglas Tait (born December 17, 1978) is an American actor, and independent filmmaker. Tait has played characters in several films, including Freddy vs. Jason, Star Trek, Zathura: A Space Adventure, Land of the Lost, Annabelle Comes Home, and Hellboy. His first character role came during high school when he was hired to perform as "Frankenstein" in the live stage shows at Universal Studios Hollywood. He played the role of Jason Voorhees in the final scene of Freddy vs. Jason. He was one of three individuals to play the role of a "Zorgon" in Jon Favreau's Zathura: A Space Adventure. He played the role of "Abominog" in The Knights of Badassdom and a "Frost Giant" in Thor. He appeared as "Head Sleestak" in Land of the Lost. I'm a huge fan of the Halloween (2018) reboot and was very excited for the sequel. Halloween Kills features a healthy dose of gnarly kills and slasher brutality which is exactly what this sequel deserved. And let's be honest, I believe we all watched it for the slaughtering of innocent victims. After sitting down with Salem, I have learned that she has not watched any of the Halloween movies…. I understand and I am not going to hold it against her, because the Halloween movies are not for everyone. However, I would like to state the fact that Salem delivered her role as Christy flawlessly and I am saying that because it's the truth. With that being said, if there is another Halloween movie made in the near future, I would like to see Salem reprise her role as Christy.

For all that know me, the Halloween Franchise is my favorite, and Michael Myers is someone who I have come to love over the past two decades or so. Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills gives us what I can only describe as the ultimate Michael Myers experience and both films deliver an emotional punch that too many of the films in this franchise have lacked.
