Phoenix Suns Charities, the philanthropic arm of the Phoenix Suns, presented their annual $100,000 Playmaker Award to the Valley of the Sun, Chris-Town YMCA during an announcement on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Chris-Town YMCA. The grant will be used to help fund the Chris-Town YMCA's $4.3 million expansion project, adding 16,000 square feet to the facility, which opened in 1956. Construction is expected to begin in April 2009 and will include an expanded fitness center, teen center, community health clinic and the addition of a 10,000 square foot gymnasium.
