Welcome to the 2026 Season Premiere of the Latino Vote Podcast! And what a long year it has already been.Chuck Rocha and Mike Madrid return from the holiday break with heavy hearts as they tackle a tumultuous start to 2026. Our hosts dissect the fatal ICE shooting of Renee Good in Minnesota, Trump's intervention in Venezuela, and what these events signal about America's shift toward authoritarianism both at home and abroad.Drawing on Chuck's recent travels in Africa and reflections on history, genocide, faith, and humanity, the conversation explores how fear is weaponized, how power is exercised, and why the rule of law feels increasingly fragile. Mike connects the dots between global instability, domestic policy, and the political consequences already reshaping Latino communities—especially as primaries approach in Texas and beyond. But this isn't just doom and gloom. Mike and Chuck chart a path forward for Democrats in 2026, arguing that Latino voters—and all Americans who believe in good over power—need results now.-Recorded December 8, 2026.-Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more episodes of The Latino Vote Podcast! Send us a textWhat if the drive that fuels your success is actually a survival mechanism in disguise? In this explosive Season Premiere of the Self Reflection Podcast, host Lira Ndifon is joined by Cassandra McClure—celebrity makeup artist, agency owner, and founder of Clean Living Magazine. While Cassandra has built a multi-million dollar empire, her journey to the top wasn't just about grit; it was a prolonged fight-or-flight response to deep-seated childhood trauma. In a raw and unfiltered conversation, Cassandra peels back the layers of the "hustle culture" myth. She opens up about her recent, life-changing diagnosis of PTSD, sharing how decades of being labeled "anxious" or "ADHD" were actually symptoms of a nervous system stuck in survival mode. She discusses the heartbreaking but necessary decision to go no-contact with family members to protect her peace and how she finally learned to stop running and start living. But the healing didn't stop at the mind. Cassandra reveals the terrifying health crisis—including partial vision loss and severe autoimmune reactions—that forced her to audit her life physically. Discover the dark truth about the beauty industry, the hidden dangers of "fragrance," and how a single epiphany launched the Clean Living movement that is now reshaping the Bay Area and beyond. In this episode, you will learn:The Trauma-Success Link: How to identify if your work ethic is healthy ambition or unhealed trauma. The "Clean" Revolution: Why your beauty products might be the silent cause of your chronic fatigue and allergies.Strategic Boundaries: How to set firm limits with toxic family members without guilt.2026 Vision: How to position your business for major economic events (like the Super Bowl!) and build a network that supports your growth.Whether you are an entrepreneur on the brink of burnout or someone seeking to detoxify your life from the inside out, this episode is your permission slip to slow down, heal, and succeed on your own terms.Questions to Ask Yourself After This Episode:Am I working hard to build a future, or to escape my past?Who am I when I am not producing or achieving? Is my environment making me sick?

Send us a textLITTLE ODESSA (1994) A new season (Season 16) in a new year (2026 CE), and The Good, The Pod, and The Ugly returns to its roots with its unpatented temporal pincer movement covering the directorial filmography of American auteur James Gray. And in keeping with this homecoming, we begin our Touch of Gray Season with the Gen X filmmaker's first feature endeavor LITTLE ODESSA (1994). Made at the unripened age of twenty-three after being recruited out of USC film school, Gray's inaugural film is a mixture of the highly personal (reflecting his own mother's terminal brain cancer, father's temper, and family's Slavic Jewish émigré origins) with trappings of the crime genre (hitman with ice cold blood in his veins returns to the one place he promised never to return, viz. New York City, i.e. Brooklyn's Brighton Beach a.k.a. Little Odessa), each and together building to a profoundly unhappy ending. Thanks to Brit producer Paul Webster who recruited Gray for this first film, Gray was able to bring on Tim Roth fresh from his acclaimed performance in Reservoir Dogs who was able to attract Edward Furlong, Vanessa Redgrave, Maximilian Schell, and Moira Kelly. Gray and team worked around losing a week to a record-setting blizzard in NYC, some days with only four hours to shoot, to create this two-hander crime+family (but not “crime family”) drama with the dominant hand played by Roth as the older brother hitman and other hand by Furlong as the younger brother under his father's thumb and regularly truant from school. Redgrave and Schell play their parents. Kelly, two years removed from The Cutting Edge and Fire Walk with Me, plays Roth's love interest. And fewer of these characters will be alive by the end of this film than you might expect outside of a Greek tragedy. This week, additional research by Ken who watched the film within the film (Vengeance Valley, 1951), Ryan who explored Jewish funeral rites, and Thomas who on mic clarifies the actual size of Little Odessa. Oh, and in a callback to the preceding Season 15, there are some satisfyingly strong squibs.THEME SONG BY: WEIRD A.I.Email: thegoodthepodandtheugly@gmail.comFacebook: https://m.facebook.com/TGTPTUInstagram: https://instagram.com/thegoodthepodandtheugly?igshid=um92md09kjg0Bluesky: @goodpodugly.bsky.socialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6mI2plrgJu-TB95bbJCW-gLetterboxd (follow us!):Podcast: goodpoduglyKen: Ken KoralRyan: Ryan Tobias

Movie of the Year: 1971A New Season BeginsWelcome to 1971—The Year Hollywood Broke the RulesThe Taste Buds—Mike, Ryan, and Greg—are back, and this time they're traveling to one of the most daring and unpredictable years in film history: 1971. With the studio system collapsing and the counterculture in full swing, filmmakers were rewriting the rules, blending art and rebellion into something thrillingly new.In this season premiere, the Taste Buds launch the 1971 Movie of the Year bracket, cutting 96 movies down to 64 in a massive showdown of ambition, artistry, and pure cinematic chaos. From cult curiosities to forgotten gems, this first round is where history's deep cuts get their moment in the spotlight. The Cultural Crossroads of 19711971 wasn't just another year—it was a cultural collision. The Vietnam War raged, Nixon ruled the airwaves, and young directors were taking cameras into uncharted territory. As the Taste Buds remind us, this was the year American cinema shifted from polished studio spectacle to gritty realism, giving rise to New Hollywood.Every film in this season premiere carries that revolutionary spark. Some came from the underground; others from studios trying desperately to keep up with changing times. Together, they form a portrait of a moment when film wasn't just entertainment—it was rebellion.Deep Cuts and Dangerous Roads: The Films of Round OneBefore the heavy hitters arrive in later rounds, the Taste Buds dig into the unsung heroes of 1971—the strange, the soulful, and the subversive.Two-Lane Blacktop: A road movie stripped down to its raw nerves, where the open highway is both promise and punishment.Wake in Fright: An Australian fever dream that makes the outback feel like purgatory. The Hired Hand: Peter Fonda's quiet Western about regret, redemption, and a way of life that's already dying.Taking Off: Miloš Forman's offbeat exploration of American youth, alienation, and generational divide. Each of these films tells part of the story of 1971: a year where cinema stopped being polite and started getting real. The Bracket BeginsWith 96 contenders on the board, the Taste Buds must make impossible choices. Which obscure masterpieces deserve to advance? Which early casualties will haunt the rest of the season? The first round is brutal, brilliant, and full of surprises—as only a Movie of the Year bracket can be.The Revolution Will Be Screened1971 was a year of upheaval, experimentation, and discovery—and this season premiere captures that spirit perfectly. As the Taste Buds trim the list to 64, they set the stage for one of the richest and most unpredictable seasons in Movie of the Year history.

In this episode of Timeless Spirituality, Daniel explores the difference between faith and belief — and why the distinction matters. Through the lives of five iconic figures, he traces how each one held truth in a way that shaped the world.Martin Luther King Jr. carried a faith rooted not in certainty but in conviction, a faith that marched forward even when the road was dark. Albert Einstein found reverence not in religion but in the mystery and order of the cosmos. Marie Curie believed in process and persistence, trusting the slow, invisible work of discovery. Steve Jobs lived by vision and design, guided less by doctrine than by instinct. And Voltaire, sharp and defiant, put his belief in reason and the freedom to question power.Together, their stories show that belief can live in the mind, but faith lives in motion. Daniel invites listeners to sit with that distinction — to ask not only What do I think is true? but also What will I do because of it?

The reason a barrel-chested, born-on-the-1-yard line idiot like Roger Goodell can be made the commissioner of the NFL, and the league still thrives, is because its product is more powerful and pure than Walter White's sky blue crystal meth. And the Bills' comeback against the Ravens proved it, once again. CZABE flies solo today, and has a lot of NFL mop-up, plus a reminder that selling your tickets, or leaving early, remains a purely "business decision" you, as a fan, are entitled to!
