In this episode of the show our trip through John Landis comedies of the 1980s continues with Trading Places. Over the course of our conversation you will hear us talk about this movie as less an example of the 80s-native edgy sketch comedy but rather an evocation of the spirit of classic screwball comedies in the style of Frank Capra and Howard Hawks. We talk about the chemistry between Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, Hollywood slowly waking up to a possibility that a black star could carry a movie (but still only in an ensemble or a buddy setup) and where John Landis and his edge fits in all this. Finally, we discuss the infamous blackface scene and the gorilla gag, while also wondering about how exactly trading worked in the pre-digital era. Tune in and enjoy!Hosts: Jakub Flasz & Randy BurrowsHead over to uncutgemspodcast.com to find all of our archival episodes and more!Follow us on Twitter (@UncutGemsPod), IG (@UncutGemsPod) and Facebook (@UncutGemsPod)Buy us a coffee over at Ko-Fi.com (ko-fi.com/uncutgemspod)Subscribe to our Patreon! (patreon.com/uncutgemspod

Ever find yourself questioning whether leadership fundamentals have really changed, or if we're simply in another cycle of bold claims and louder voices?I recently joined Chris Kitchener and Gareth Tennant from the ‘Battling With Business' podcast and traded places for a challenging conversation in a pub - complete with parking cars and pints! We unravelled whether leadership values like empathy and psychological safety are still as vital as ever, or if hard-nosed approaches really deliver better results. I shared how, amidst the noise of quick wins and rapid change, taking time to define what ‘success' actually means is what helps leaders and managers nurture work cultures where people can thrive, stay well, and perform at their best.Key moments include:How good leadership isn't about avoiding tough conversations - it's about clarity, accountability and connectionWhy performance and wellbeing start with making space for genuine dialogueThe difference between leading for short-term applause or building trust for lasting resultsThe risks of confusing empathy with just being ‘nice'There's practical insight for anyone who wants to stop firefighting, get beneath the surface, and create conditions where people and business both excel.More about Battling with Business:In the Battling with Business podcast, Gareth Tennant, a former Royal Marines Officer, and Chris Kitchener, a veteran of the software development world, explore ideas and concepts around teams and teamwork, leaders and leadership, and all things in between. It's a discussion between a former military commander and a business manager, comparing and contrasting their experiences as they attempt to work out what makes teams, leaders, and businesses tick.Get in touch with: Gareth Tennant & Chris KitchenerResources & ReferencesListen to this episode on YouTubeThe Human Factor Behind High-Performing Teams: Why Leadership Isn't As Easy As It LooksBattling with Business PodcastContact details for LisaLinkedIn: lisapsychologyWays to work with me: itstimeforchange.co.uk/tailored-supportJoin The Leadership Lens: itstimeforchange.co.uk/lets-connectEmail me for a friendly chat: lisa@itstimeforchange.co.uk

The VHS Strikes Back

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 3, 2026 59:17

Chosen by Kent and released in 1985, Brewster's Millions was directed by Walter Hill and produced by Lawrence Gordon, Joel Silver and Gene Levy for Universal Pictures. Hill was best known for tougher, more muscular films like The Warriors, The Driver, 48 Hrs. and Streets of Fire, so seeing him take on a broad Richard Pryor comedy is one of those wonderfully odd 80s career turns that makes perfect sense only after three pints and a VHS rental card. The screenplay came from Timothy Harris and Herschel Weingrod, the writing duo behind Trading Places, adapting George Barr McCutcheon's much-filmed 1902 novel for a new generation. The film stars Richard Pryor, John Candy, Lonette McKee, Stephen Collins and Hume Cronyn, with music by Ry Cooder. Made on a reported budget of around $15 million, it earned roughly $45 million worldwide, making it a solid box office performer even if critics were not exactly fainting into their notebooks with admiration. Over time, though, Brewster's Millions has become a comfortable 80s comedy favourite: high-concept, fast-moving, packed with familiar faces, and built around the kind of premise that still feels weirdly irresistible. Who among us has not wondered whether we could ruin our lives with $30 million and a strict deadline?TRAILER GUY PLOT SYNOPSISMonty Brewster is a struggling minor league baseball player with a loyal best friend, a modest bank balance, and absolutely no idea that his entire life is about to be turned into the world's most expensive practical joke. When a mysterious inheritance lands in his lap, Monty is offered a fortune beyond his wildest dreams. But there is a catch. To claim the real prize, he must spend $30 million in 30 days, without telling anyone why, without keeping any assets, and without accidentally making a profit. Which sounds easy, until you realise money has a nasty habit of sticking around when lawyers are watching.FUN FACTSBrewster's Millions is based on George Barr McCutcheon's 1902 novel, which had already inspired several earlier film and stage adaptations before the 1985 version. The story had been filmed multiple times before, including silent and early sound-era versions, making this one of Hollywood's most recycled “sudden fortune with a catch” premises.Peter Bogdanovich was originally attached to direct before Walter Hill took over the project.Walter Hill later described Brewster's Millions as his only true comedy, which is quite the detour for a director usually associated with action, crime and tough-guy cinema. The fictional Hackensack Bulls were created for the film, giving Richard Pryor and John Candy a very 80s underdog sports-comedy setup before the inheritance plot kicks in.The baseball stadium scenes used a standing set originally built for the short-lived TV series Bay City Blues. The film's New York setting gives it that glossy mid-80s city energy, where everyone appears to be either very rich, very stressed, or about to be shouted at by a lawyer.Rick Moranis appears in a small supporting role as Morty King, adding another familiar 80s comedy face to the cast.Support the Show If you enjoy the show and would like to support us, we have a Patreon here. They say there ain't no cure for the summertime blues, but we here at F2F disagree. So allow Trev & Chris to make a house-call, as we ring in a brand new series - "JUNE is What the Doctor Ordered," taking a look at three doctor-themed (sorta) movies. First up, the 1983 oddity Doctor Detroit, perhaps most remembered as SNL legend Dan Aykroyd's first (and last?) solo starring role in a movie. Aykroyd plays a nebbish college professor forced to pose as a tough-talking pimp in order to protect four beautiful sex workers from the wrath of an evil crime boss named "Mom." And if that premise already sounds pretty out-there to you, well, we haven't even said anything about the costuming, voice, and mannerism choices Aykroyd makes in regards to his "Doctor Detroit" persona. Why exactly did a movie starring a beloved comic icon, released so close to hits like Trading Places and Ghostbusters, not connect with audiences? We're here to diagnose what might have gone wrong. In this message, Eric opens with a simple but disorienting question: how much would you need to love someone to trade places with them? From there he takes the us to 2 Corinthians 8:9, the theological heart of Paul's generosity section, where Paul holds up Jesus as the ultimate model of sacrificial giving. Jesus moved from infinite wealth to profound poverty for our sake, and his example is not meant to be exploited for personal blessing but imitated in how we hold and give our money. Eric explores three honest questions about desire, priority, and proportion, and closes with a story about a young man who started giving not because he had extra but because he had tasted grace. The invitation is simple: what story do you want your money to tell?

Alexander is feeling a bit bored with the lack of action, so when an ol' buddy shows up and asks him to help find this outlaw on the run, he jumps at the opportunity. After fixing the leg and making the cast, Rebecca agrees to go back to Tom's place for dinner, just the two of them. He opens up about how he was once engaged to a city girl. It didn't end well. She tells him about the roof. And he's like we all have our issues - I gotta plow the field. She's like that's easy compared to my roof. So they hatch a deal - Sarah will plow his field and he'll get her the wood she needs. When she tells Hattie about the deal she's like….good luck out there. The next day, Rebecca gets out there. Turns out, it's hard. Alexander and his buddy are out in the woods and come across a trip wire. Someone is out to get 'em! The kids are trying to help with the farm chores with Nash being out but it's not going great. A goat gets loose and goes nuts. Alexander helps catch the bad guy. He absolutely loves it. Rebecca works tirelessly all day and into the evening to the point of tears. Tom comes and tells her that she wins and that he'll provide the wood. He brings it the next day and Alexander comes out to ask if he can be her first boarder when she opens. Tom asks if she's ok with that and she says she'll have to be. We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions. The goats delivered. The humans? It's complicated. This week we're back in Hope Valley for “Trading Places” — the episode where Rebecca applies her medical skills after Nash breaks his leg, strikes an accidental bargain to plow a field for lumber, and somehow ends up doing the job of about six people at once. We break down what we loved (that field plowing scene, the dinner bet, the Tom and Rebecca dynamic quietly inching forward), what felt like filler, and why the goats were the undisputed MVPs of the hour.We also have some thoughts on Olivia's very sudden shift from Mountie Monty to rugged Clayton — and why that trope drives us absolutely crazy. Plus the conversation takes a legendary detour into Andrea's childhood pig show disaster at the county fair, complete with a runaway pig, a very unimpressed judge, and an answer to “name your favorite cut of pork” that her father has never forgiven. Is Hope Valley slipping into the same slow-burn rut as When Calls the Heart? We weigh in. We also make a case for why Lachlan deserves a Christmas lead, why Jill Hennessy is criminally underused, and IRC compares the whole time period to Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman — which may actually be the better show.Eric is also heading to Napa for his anniversary, which naturally turns into a full ranking of every Hallmark vineyard movie ever made.ChaptersCalculated from transcript at 178.6 wpm against actual runtime of 17:26.0:00 — Welcome to Hallmark Mysteries and More0:14 — Trading Places — Episode Overview & What We Liked2:30 — Rebecca Plows the Field (In Real Time)2:42 — The Dinner Bet, Ben's Performance & Tom–Rebecca Dynamic5:36 — What We Didn't Like: Filler Episode Feeling6:19 — Olivia's Flip-Flopping Between Monty & Clayton7:34 — The Goat Scene & Andrea's Legendary Pig Show Story12:14 — Standout: The Goats & Jill Hennessy's Priceless Look13:00 — What We're Hoping For: More Action & More Lachlan14:19 — Final Thoughts & Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman Comparison15:57 — Outro: IRC's Napa Anniversary Trip & Hallmark Vineyard Movies Shows & Movies MentionedHope Valley — episode reviewed: “Trading Places”When Calls the Heart — compared as the slow-burn cautionary taleDoctor Quinn, Medicine Woman — recommended for same time period, possibly betterValentine/Summer/Autumn in the Vineyard — Rachael Leigh Cook & Brennan Penny trilogyMartha's Vineyard Mysteries — briefly mentioned, debatedTags#HopeValley #HopeValleyReview #HallmarkMovies #HallmarkChannel #WhenCallsTheHeart #JillHennessy #LachlanMacready #HallmarkMysteriesAndMore #HallmarkPodcast #CozyTV #PeriodDrama #DoctorQuinnFollow us on social media: Instagram and TikTok: @hallmarkmysteriesandmoreYoutubeOr visit our website. This podcast was created by fans for fans and is NOT affiliated with or sponsored by Hallmark or the Hallmark Channel.

Hi, hello, we're back. We're exploring a new movie-focused series we're calling "Hey That's Me!" (after the Deerhoof song). We're trying to get people with important facets of their identity, mental health, or beliefs they've found reflected in films in deeply personal ways. We're kicking it off by bringing back our favorite polymath, Tripp Nasty. Initially he told me he wanted to talk about the Buddhism of the 1983 Jon Landis comedy, Trading Places. That didn't really happen, but we did talk some about the movie and a lot about Zen Buddhism, so, there we go.We've got three deep cuts of Tripp's that he emailed to me the other day. I don't know that they're currently available anywhere, so, enjoy what of them you can. Also, hey! Brandon wrote a graphic novel with his old friend AJ Dungo. It's available now through Flying Eye Books. AJ'll be back eventually.

This week, Discourse in Magic looks a little different. Instead of Jonah interviewing a guest, we're sharing an episode where the tables were turned. Jonah recently sat down with Josh Norbido and Nick Kay—better known as The Magic Guys—on their popular Australian-based livestream and podcast. The Magic Guys actually “robbed” Jonah of the FSM Award for top Magic Podcast this year, but there are no hard feelings here. Their show is famous for its high energy, active YouTube community, and hilarious banter, making this one of the most engaging “crossover” episodes yet. In this session, Josh and Nick grill Jonah on the inner workings of his business, his performance schedule, and his philosophy on growth. What You'll Learn in This Episode The Toronto Magic Company Story: How Jonah built a brand that doesn’t just book him, but manages a roster of talent across the city. The FSM Rivalry: A behind-the-scenes look at the friendly competition between the top magic podcasts in the industry. The “Anti-Budget” Strategy: Why Jonah believes asking a client “What is your budget?” is one of the biggest mistakes you can make on a sales call. Managing a Roster: The logistics and ethics of taking a cut from other magicians’ gigs and how to provide enough value to make it a win-win. The Power of Community: How The Magic Guys built a “fitspo” for magicians through livestreaming and Discord interactions. Key Pillars of the Discussion The Business of Management Jonah dives deep into how the Toronto Magic Company operates. He explains the transition from being a solo performer to building a brand that clients trust, allowing him to book other magicians and take a management fee while ensuring the quality of the show remains high. The Perfect Sales Approach During the “grilling” session, Jonah shares one of his most important pieces of business advice: stop leading with budget. He argues that by focusing on the value and the specific needs of the event first, you position yourself as an expert rather than a commodity. Content and Coaching Jonah discusses his recent shift toward heavy Instagram content and his Magic Business Mastermind, where he helps performers scale from five figures to six figures and beyond. Mentions & Links Follow The Magic Guys: Check out Josh Norbido and Nick Kay on YouTube and their podcast. Toronto Magic Company: Learn more about Jonah's local management brand. This week on Born to Watch, Whitey, Gow and Damo head back to 1983 for a full Trading Places 1983 Review, revisiting one of the most iconic comedy films of the 1980s. Directed by John Landis and starring Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis, Trading Places is a movie that perfectly captures the raw, outrageous humour of the decade. But more than 40 years later, the big question for the Born to Watch crew is simple: Does this comedy classic still hold up?Set in the world of high-stakes Philadelphia commodities trading, Trading Places follows privileged stockbroker Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd) and street hustler Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy). When two absurdly wealthy brothers, Randolph and Mortimer Duke, decide to test a social experiment for a one-dollar bet, the lives of both men are turned upside down.Winthorpe loses everything.Billy Ray gains everything. And the Dukes sit back and watch the chaos unfold. For Whitey, this rewatch brings back the wild spirit of 80s comedies, a time when films were raw, unfiltered and packed with unforgettable moments. From the opening scenes inside the Duke & Duke trading empire to the infamous orange juice futures finale, the movie moves at a relentless pace.Gow dives into the film's history, breaking down how Eddie Murphy was just beginning his meteoric rise after Saturday Night Live. His performance as Billy Ray Valentine demonstrates the charisma and comedic timing that would soon make him one of the decade's biggest movie stars.Meanwhile, Damo delivers what the listeners came for, the legendary Snorbs Report, analysing one of the most famous scenes in the film and debating whether Jamie Lee Curtis might have the most unexpected reveal in 80s cinema history. But Trading Places is more than just a comedy. At its core, the film is a clever satire about class, wealth and power. The Duke brothers treat human lives like chess pieces, manipulating events purely to prove a point about social status. What makes the story work so well is how Murphy and Aykroyd eventually turn the tables. And when the revenge finally arrives, it is glorious.Throughout the episode, the Born to Watch crew break down some of the most memorable moments in the movie, including:• Eddie Murphy announces himself as a superstar• Dan Aykroyd's legendary drunken Santa meltdown• The outrageous Duke brothers• Jamie Lee Curtis' scene-stealing performance• The chaotic train disguise sequence• The brilliant orange juice trading finaleThe boys also tackle their regular segments, including Overs and Unders, Hit Sleeper Dud for 1983, the Rank Bank, and, of course, Damo's Snorbs Report.Along the way, they debate Eddie Murphy's place among the greatest comedy stars of all time and ask whether Hollywood would even dare make a movie like Trading Places today.Because let's be honest.Movies like this simply do not get made anymore.Fearless, ridiculous and packed with classic one-liners, Trading Places remains one of the defining comedy films of the 80s.But does it still deserve its legendary reputation?Whitey, Gow and Damo are here to find out.JOIN THE CONVERSATIONIs Trading Places Eddie Murphy's true breakout movie? Is the orange juice trading finale the greatest comedy ending ever? And is Winthorpe's Santa suit the most disgusting costume in movie history?Drop us a voicemail at https://www.borntowatch.com.auListen now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your pods.#TradingPlaces #BornToWatch #EddieMurphy #DanAykroyd #JamieLeeCurtis #80sMovies #ComedyClassic #MoviePodcast #FilmReview #80sComedy

In this episode, we are diving deep into the mindset behind wealth, happiness, and what it truly means to be fortunate. We kick things off by reviewing the movie Good Fortune, using it as a springboard to discuss a question we all face: Would a massive financial windfall truly solve all your problems? We explore the stark realities of the gig economy, the allure of the lottery, and why waiting for a "lucky break" is often a distraction from the power of intentional financial planning. We believe that money doesn't fundamentally change who you are; it simply amplifies your existing traits. Whether you are currently hustling to make ends meet or are focused on long-term retirement planning, the goal is to build a life of substance, not just status. Join us as we unpack why true wealth starts with a healthy money mindset and why choosing progress over perfection is the key to a fulfilling future. Key Takeaways Money Amplifies Character: A windfall won't fix your internal struggles. If you aren't a giver when you have little, you likely won't be a giver when you have millions. The Trap of Comparison: Envy and the "if only" mindset rob you of satisfaction in your current journey. The Reality of the Gig Economy: While side hustles like Uber or DoorDash can be great supplements, relying on them without a stable foundation can lead to financial anxiety. Planning vs. Luck: Betting on the lottery is a game of chance; financial planning is betting on yourself. Progress Over Perfection: You don't need to have it all figured out today. Just take the next right step. Popular Keywords Financial planning Gig economy Money mindset Character development Retirement planning Key Segments & Timestamps 00:00 – Intro: Surviving the snowstorm and getting back to max capacity. 03:15 – Movie Review: Breaking down the themes in Good Fortune and Trading Places. 08:45 – The Gig Economy: Hustle culture, stability, and the pursuit of "more." 15:20 – The Lottery Mentality: Why we dream of windfalls instead of doing the work. 22:30 – Does Money Change You? Before launching Practical VC, Aman spent over a decade in finance and operations roles at PayPal and eBay, joining PayPal in 2001 before its IPO and witnessing its transformation from a money-beaming mobile app to the dominant payment platform for eBay. Earlier, he worked in investment banking in New York after studying economics at Stanford and constitutional law at Harvard Law School. Aman was recruited to PayPal by Peter Thiel and worked directly for David Sachs during the company's pivotal early years. Now partnering with Dave McClure, he focuses on Series C and D investments in SaaS and FinTech companies with $200M+ in revenue and clear paths to liquidity within 5-7 years. He's also writing a book on the history of financial bubbles and co-hosts the Trading Places podcast, analyzing private company valuations.About Practical Venture CapitalPractical Venture Capital is a secondary-focused venture firm that provides liquidity solutions for early investors, employees, and funds. Operating with a 7-year fund structure instead of the traditional 10-15 years, Practical VC targets 20-40% discounts to last-round valuations in Series C and D companies with $200M+ in revenue and clear paths to exit. The firm specializes in SaaS and FinTech but has made exceptions for exceptional opportunities like SpaceX, now their biggest winner despite violating their typical investment criteria. Founded by Aman Verjee and Dave McClure, Practical VC evaluates roughly 50 companies at any given time, making 5-10 investments annually. The firm also offers SPVs for deals that don't fit their main fund and covers LATAM opportunities through an operating partner in Argentina. Their approach recognizes that modern venture capital requires new liquidity solutions as companies like SpaceX (23 years private), Airbnb (17 years), and Palantir (20 years) redefine what "patient capital" means.Subscribe to our podcast and stay tuned for our next episode.

MUSICRoger Daltrey of The Who is now SIR Roger Daltrey. He was knighted by Prince William at Windsor Castle on Wednesday. It's in recognition of not only his musical achievements, but also his charity work. Here he is on the award, and what his younger self and band would've thought back in the day. https://consequence.net/2025/12/sir-roger-daltrey-knighted/ Sharon Osbourne has given her first interview since the death of her husband Ozzy this past July.Appearing Wednesday on the British TV show Piers Morgan Uncensored, hosted by her longtime friend, she opened up about his health struggles, doing his final show this past July 5th in Birmingham, England, their last conversations and much more. You can watch the show on YouTube, and here are a few excerpts:Sharon Osbourne on the last two weeks of Ozzy's life. OC:...in seven years. :27 [Courtesy of Piers Morgan Uncensored]"He was so happy Piers afterwards. And he kept looking at the papers and he goes to me, 'I never knew so many people like me.' But that was the way he was. I mean, he knew he was famous, but not to the amount that people loved him. It's a whole different thing. And he was just so happy. Happier than we'd seen him in seven years."Sharon Osbourne on dreams Ozzy was having the last week of his life. OC:...he was ready. :26 [Courtesy of Piers Morgan Uncensored]"He was having dreams the last week of his life. He was seeing people that he never knew. I said, 'Well, what kind of people?' He goes, 'All different people. And I just keep walking and walking and I'm seeing all these different people every night. And I go back there and I'm looking at these people and they're looking at me and nobody's talking.' And he he knew. He was ready." Sharon also talked about the first time she and Ozzy met, when they fell in love, how she will never want to get married again, how if she didn't have kids she would have killed herself when he died, and the thing she misses most is holding his hand.On a lighter note, she also talked about how she wanted to get back at Roger Waters for the negative things he said about Ozzy after he died. And that was by sending him a Tiffany box filled with feces, which she used to do to critics who wrote negative reviews about Ozzy's shows without being there. When she did, it was her infant son Jack's poop that would be used. She ultimately decided against it, saying, “Even that is a waste, to send [crap] to him. It's a waste because he's really insignificant. But I just thought, anybody that passes has a family… you don't do that.” (Sharon's not the first musician's wife to do that. Paul and Linda McCartney sent some of their daughter Stella's poop to a journalist who earned their trust, then betrayed them.)Going forward, Sharon says she's continuing to work on an Ozzy bio-pic and that she knows who she wants to play him. When asked if it was Yunglbud she didn't confirm nor deny.https://youtu.be/aaLMsEJKZEQ Kurt Cobain's MTV Unplugged Martin D-18E has been donated to the Royal College of Music London by Peter Freedman, who paid $6,010,000 for it at an auction in 2020. But there are plenty of other films that spark the same argument, "Is this actually a Christmas movie?" Here are 13 more:1. Every "Harry Potter" movie (2001 - 2011). All the "Potter" flicks . . . with the possible exception of the last one . . . have some kind of yuletide vibe . . . or at least a wintry one.2. "Batman Returns" (1992). One of the big set pieces is the lighting of the Gotham Christmas tree.3. "Eyes Wide Shut" (1999). Even though it was released in July, it takes place over Christmas.4. "Gremlins" (1984). This one has Christmas written all over it. And also little green, murderous demons.5. "First Blood" (1982). The first of the "Rambo" films has a Christmas tree in the background of one scene. So . . . Christmas movie!!!6. "Trading Places" (1983). There's a Christmas party, and Dan Aykroyd as a drunken Santa waving a handgun. But it doesn't end on December 25th. If it's a Christmas movie, then it also qualifies as a New Year's movie.7. "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" (2005). This one takes place during the Christmas season in L.A. And it was released in November.8. "Edward Scissorhands" (1990). Kind of a no-brainer.9. "Lethal Weapon" (1987). Another one of those action movies that HAPPENS to take place around Christmas.10. "Rocky" (1976). This might be the greatest American holiday film of all time, because it includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. And also punching.11. "Hook" (1991). The scenes in the real world, outside Neverland, are set at Christmas. 12. "Iron Man 3" (2013). The whole movie plays out around Christmas.13. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993). Is it a Christmas movie or a Halloween movie? Why not both?AND THAT IS YOUR CRAP ON CELEBRITIES!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

On this week's episode of the Gridiron Gals podcast, Chels is Reeta and Reeta is Chels!  So let's go NFL Playoff math season is here, which means the NFL has officially turned into a giant word problem nobody asked for. We're sorting through percentages, tiebreakers, and "if this team sneezes on Thursday, the other team clinches on Sunday" scenarios to figure out which NFC and AFC outliers actually have a shot at sneaking into the postseason. Plus, should franchise players really come back from injury when the only thing their team is playing for is pride and draft order? Week 14 picks are locked in, the Tubi Game of the Week  promises chaos, and over in college football it's Championship Week, aka the biggest day of the season. Georgia and Alabama are basically in no matter what, Texas Tech is playing with house money, Indiana and Ohio State are battling purely for vibes, and Duke vs. Virginia has the entire ACC holding its breath while 11–1 JMU prays for chaos. Next week? We finally get to argue about the actual playoff picture. Buckle up.
