I found Jason Banks on TikTok. He is a hilarious comedian that used 2020 to introduce us to Derek, Chad, and Blind Adam. He plays all 3 characters and well Derek is quite interesting. I bought his t shirt because I love Derek. I told myself if Jason were to come to my neck of the woods, I will go see his show. Well he came to Kansas City so Tyson and I used this chance to take an adventure. Check him out of TikTok JasonBankscomedy. He is not for the too sensitive type of person. What a fun night!! Oh and Vicki and Paige joined us. You can check out my superstar segment with Vicki Trembly. Don't miss this show if he comes to a town near you. Blind Adam & The Federal League Bluprint Pop-Punk & Pizza Podcast #190: Blind Adam & The Federal League and Bluprint Hey! Just to warn you, I had some technical difficulties while recording this episode. So if things sound a little funky, that's why! For the first time in two years, I'm happy to welcome a band back into the studio for an in-person pizza eating interview! I'm glad it was my friends in, Bluprint. We grew up playing together in the Kankakee, IL punk scene. They just released a killer new song called, "Home", recorded by, Sean O'Keefe, and produced by, Mark Rose. Before my chat with Josh, Tyler, and Taylor of Bluprint, I had a virtual conversation with Adam Gogola of Blind Adam & The Federal League. They just released their sophomore album, An Act of Desperation, via A-F Records this past September. It was produced by, Chris "#2" Barker of Anti-Flag. Anti-Flag is one of America's most tireless activist voices in music, and they have a kindred spirit in Chicago's Blind Adam and the Federal League. Blind Adam and the Federal League return with their new album, An Act of Desperation, on September 10th on the A-F label. Here tonight to talk about the album's release are Blind Adam and Chris #2 from Anti-Flag. Besides the Blind Adam album coming out on A-F, Chris produced and engineered it. Chris had a shaky Zoom connection, but that's just life in 2021.

I’m a fan of Blind Adam’s world-wise, emphatic vocals and everyman lyrics; they’re both front and center throughout Blind Adam and the Federal League’s music. Country punk? Americana? Punk and western? I dunno. It’s just solid American songwriting, coming from right here in Chicago. Adam’s music is informed by social consciousness and the protest songs of decades past. With a new album temporarily sidelined by COVID, he recently released the album’s least likely single, “An Act of Desperation,” as a response to current events. He joins me tonight for Car Con Carne.

SIAMÉS visited Chicago on their first-ever U.S. tour. If you haven't discovered the band yet, listen to this interview first, then get yourself over to YouTube and lose yourself down their animated video rabbit hole. Discussed this week: Their first impressions of Chicago, from Lower Wacker Drive to Union Station. Who in the band is vegetarian? What's their first U.S. tour like so far? Their incredible YouTube success... The video for "The Wolf" is almost at 100,000,000 views! I didn't get the band drinks! The forthcoming album, "Home." *To clarify, when I say the band has "7000 listeners on Spotify," I was referring to Chicago listeners. I meant to say that, but somehow it didn't come out like that. The benefit of being an indie band. Local bands Blood People and Blind Adam and the Federal League get a mention! Car Con Carne is sponsored by C&H Financial Services

Last week's episode was so bad I didn't upload! OH NO! But this episode is FANTASTIC! Jimmy is joined by Ultra Maximus and dives into THE JOKER (SPOILERS!!!) and all things comic speculation this week! Blind Adam joins towards the end AND HE WAS AT NYCC! THEY ARE BOTH AMAZING!
It's local band mayhem as representatives from three bands cram in the Mazda outside the fantastic Two Brothers Roundhouse (205 N Broadway, Aurora, IL 60505). I'm joined this week by: Zak from Sleeping Under 47 Caitlin Edwards of Caitlin Edwards Adam and Zach from Blind Adam and the Federal League All three artists are playing at Two Brothers Roundhouse on 3/22, supporting headliner Blind Adam and the Federal League as they play their 7" release show. Each artist performed in the car on this episode. Respectively: Blind Adam plays "Mansions on the Boulevard" Caitlin Edwards plays a new song: "When the Lights Go On" Sleeping Under 47 plays "I Don't Know" Discussed this week: Zak from Sleeping Under 47 would win a beard-off, if we had such a contest in the car. We had multiple mishaps with the dashboard camera mount, the result was a "found footage"-like horror movie. We lost some valuable Blind Adam interview material as a result (though it lives forever in the Facebook Live video). Adam and Zak both had Roundhouse Burgers: They loved them! Zach had vegetables to make us all look like assholes. Caitlin enjoyed her Steak Tacos. I had the Brewer's Reuben; it's made with brisket. Holy crap! The social awareness of Blind Adam. Is he "woke?" The origin of "Blind Adam." Bouncing Souls' role in Blind Adam's evolution as a person and musician. Caitlin gives her musical history. The warmth of the scene: Three different bands coexist in one car, and one stage! Sleeping Under 47's 17-year history: Did I play them when I worked on the Zone in the early aughts? "I Don't Know" is one of the best Sleeping Under 47 songs, and its background is heavier than you might expect on first listen. Two Brothers Roundhouse is like an adult playground. Car Con Carne is presented by The Autobarn Mazda of Evanston.
