On this brand new edition of Cubs On Tap, Tyler and Ron are back following... wait for it... a CUBS SERIES WIN! For the first time since early May, the Cubs have won a series, taking two of three from the San Francisco Giants. Brilliant pitching from Ben Brown and Javier Assad is applauded, the bullpen gets some love, and Pete Crow-Armstrong continues to be the Cubs' most consistent offensive producer. This is hopefully a huge step forward for the Cubbies. Some Josiah Hartstein love, Las Vegas baseball discussions, and more fill in the gaps before the boys preview the upcoming series against the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field. SUPPORT THE SHOW! On today's Cubs #rekap podcast, #kap and Gordon sit down to discuss the more than underwhelming state of affairs of the #chicagocubs. They also react to #alexbregman's recent comments about his performance so far this season. He sounded like a leader on this team, taking responsibility for his long slump this year. Finally, they broach the idea of trading for an elite arm like the #detroittigers' #tarikskubal, and a potential reunion with shutdown reliever #aroldischapman to revive the Cubbies' playoff and World Series aspirations.#takethat PRESENTED BY

Memorial Day gave us everything: a combined no-hitter in Texas, back‑to‑back walk‑off bombs from Colton Cowser, and the A's somehow still sitting on top of the AL West. Matt goes solo today and runs through: Weekend recap: Rays–Yankees in the Bronx, Astros bending the Cubbies over at Wrigley, Royals–Mariners chaos, Twins sweeping Boston, and the Dodgers doing Dodgers things. Full Memorial Day slate: 13 games, every starting pitcher, and the biggest offensive lines, including the Astros' combined no‑hitter and Cowser's 13‑inning walk‑off against Tampa. Division standings at the Memorial Day mile marker: why the AL Central is suddenly winnable, why the NL Central is a street fight, and how the A's are clinging to first with a negative run differential. Homer Corner: A's–Mariners in West Sac, Tigers trying to get right without Skubal, Rockies' bullpen blowing another one at Dodger Stadium, and Gage Jump getting the call with Savale headed to the IL. When the Chicago Cubs made some big moves this past offseason, the hope was to get the club back to its winning ways after a few disappointing seasons. Bringing in veteran Alex Bregman and star pitcher Edward Cabrera were just a few signs of that commitment, and so far this season, it's paying off for fans in the Windy City. On this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman talk about what the Cubs are doing so well during their nine-game winning streak, which has them sitting atop the NL Central and ready for a big matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Even though their pitching staff has been depleted due to injuries, the Cubbies are ready to make some noise in the National League and make a statement in Los Angeles this weekend. Later, Jake and Jordan discuss the Atlanta Braves impressing this season in all facets of the game with their MLB-best 18–8 record, and how manager Walter Weiss set the tone early for this team to fight until the end of every game. They then get into the San Diego Padres signing Lucas Giolito, the New York Mets finally snapping their 12-game losing streak and make their picks for this week's edition of The Good, The Bad & The Uggla. 1:11 - The Opener: Cubs stay hot 19:00 - Field Report: Braves success in 2026 29:30 - Around the League: Padres sign Giolito 37:36 - Mets snap losing streak 44:35 - The Good 51:50 - The Bad 58:22 - The Uggla Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:

Miss the weekly updates? We used the break to clear clutter, rebuild our studio, and sharpen a plan that actually moves you forward. This episode brings recognition, strategy, and a hard look at the small choices that add up—good and bad.We start by celebrating discipline you can see: the annual Committed Club and three new names on our 2,000 Visit Club. Those banners represent ten-plus years of showing up, proof that simple habits compounded over time beat hacks every time. We also fix a blind spot—missed check-ins. Sign up and check in so your work gets counted, our classes stay safe, and you show up on the lists you've earned. Then we dive into performance. As a HYROX affiliate, we tested a practical blend: regular CrossFit classes plus two to three targeted runs each week. The result? Better engines without abandoning strength. We share what worked, how to pace, and how to stack training with real-life schedules. That same blueprint now rolls into the CrossFit Open and the Reno Tahoe Odyssey. Expect running tracks in SugarWOD, a WhatsApp coaching group, and one-on-one planning for leg-specific demands like Dog Valley, Emerald Bay, and Kingsbury. Whether you're aiming for a first Open score or prepping for an ultra relay, we'll help you train with purpose.House rules matter too. Cubbies are day use; if you need storage, recovery room members can grab a locker so the shared space stays clean and usable. Curious about our Friday banger photos? There's no secret list—wear the brand, move well, and bring either grit or joy. Want a specific shot for a milestone? Ask and we'll bring the camera to your class. We close with a bigger lens: many people don't quit on health in one move—they erode by a thousand paper cuts. One skipped workout, one extra drink, one late night at a time. Flip it. Build a thousand reps of discipline—hydrate early, eat real food, lift often, run honest, sleep hard. Surround yourself with people who pull you up. That's how we avoid the midlife health cliff and keep building strength into our 40s, 50s, and 60s.If you're ready to move with intention, jump into the Open, join the HYROX and RTO tracks, or book a one-on-one to map your week. Subscribe, share this with a teammate, and leave a review telling us the one habit you're committing to this month. We'll meet you there.Follow us on Instagram here! https://www.instagram.com/doubleedgefitness/
Marnie O. Mamminga says her annual trip to celebrate her Cubbies transcends all politics. Go, Cubs, go!
Our Seattle sports guy Mario Lanza (creator of the Funny 115, Survivor: Historian Podcast and Staff Picks Movie Podcast) returns to the Jack Vita Show to lament the end of the 2025 Seattle Mariners season, as the Mariners were eliminated from playoff contention last Monday night. Where did the M's go wrong, and what needs should they address this winter? Along the way, Mario and Jack preview the World Series and chat about trends from this year's postseason. Are teams bunting too much? Why is bunting such a struggle for so many players this time of year? Mario and Jack also discuss the lost art of contact hitting, and why players like Josh Naylor have become so valuable. What did Jack think of the Milwaukee Brewers raising an "L" flag, mocking the Chicago Cubs, after eliminating the Cubbies from the playoffs? Mario and Jack talk about why rivalries are great for the sport. All this, and so much more, only on the Jack Vita Show!
National League Division Series Recap Games Three, Four and FiveThe Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers will meet once again in the National League Championship Series. The Dodgers took care of the Phillies in four games, though their margin of victory in their three wins was just four runs. The Philadelphia pitchers, notably Christopher Sánchez, Ranger Suarez, and Jesús Luzardo, performed admirably against the potent LA lineup. It was the vaunted offense that let the Phillies down, as Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, and Kyle Schwarber struggled mightily outside of game three in this series. Although the Dodgers will be the lower seed in the NLCS, they appear primed to not only defend their NL pennant, but perhaps become the first repeat World Series champions since the 2000 Yankees. The Brewers dominated the Cubs in the first two games in Milwaukee, but the script was flipped once the series moved to Chicago. The Cubbies continued their first strike offense with early homers from Michael Busch and Ian Happ, and the bullpen held on to send this series to a decisive fifth game. The Brew Crew finally kept the Cubs off the board in the first inning, and their electric bullpen held Chicago to a solo home run from Seiya Suzuki. Homers from William Contreras, Andrew Vaughn, and Brice Turang were all Pat Murphy's squad needed to secure a series win. These “Not So Average Joes” will have home-field advantage as they look to secure their first ever NL Pennant.Los Angeles Dodgers (93-69) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (96-66)Philadelphia Radio WIP - Scott Franzke, Tom MacCarthy, Larry Andersen, and Kevin StockerLos Angeles Radio AM570 - Stephen Nelson and Rick MondayChicago Cubs (92-70) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (97-65)Milwaukee Radio WTMJ - Jeff Levering, Bill Schroeder, and Josh MaurerChicago Radio WSCR - Pat Hughes and Ron CoomerAudio clips from MLB.tvAs always, thank you to Baseball Reference and SABR for statistics, box scores, background information, and much, much more.Catch you next time,P.C.O.
