This episode's guest is Nicholas Muthersbaugh. Together we made a short film called Alora where Nick served as the co-writer, co-producer, and the director. Nick, in two years, he’s garnered over 10 top awards, including being a 3x Emmy winner for his work in local media. “Alora” is his second short film, the first of which is Look Feel Touch Adore, a thriller that can be found on IndieFlix.com, and Vimeo. Alora has been selected into the 2019 Denton Black Film Festival and is currently up for 2 awards: Best Short and Best Texas Short. The story is about a single mother who is training as a NASA astronaut to potentially go and visit a new planet that has been discovered that is within the Goldilocks Zone of a star. The conflict arises in that she has to make a choice to going on the mission of a lifetime versus the love of her daughter that she would have to leave behind. The film stars 3 incredible women we were blessed to work with: Maddy Lea, Lauren Brizendine, and Nicole Fancher! It's an amazing story about love, choices, female empowerment... This episode's guest is Maddy Lea. She is a 9 year old up and coming actress from Fort Worth, Texas and has been in various performing arts since the age of 5. Maddy Lea has been featured in several SAG eligible projects including one of the current nationwide Great Wolf Lodge commercials. She has also acted in community theatre as well as numerous independent films within the last few years. When Maddy Lea is not performing in film and television projects, she is also making a name for herself as a professional cosplayer within the DFW area. She was a featured guest at the annual FanExpo in Dallas, TX. Maddy Lea is also an accomplished dancer and model in both print and runway. Maddy Lea’s aspirations continue to grow every day and she one day dreams of starring in a full feature horror film. Maddy plays the titular character of a film called Alora that Michael Gibson Jr co-wrote along with Nicholas Muthersbaugh. Lauren Brizendine is back! Lauren Brizendine hails from the bayous of Louisiana and has a passion for all things creative. After graduating with a degree in fashion design and working in the business for a decade, Lauren found comedy and acting as an outlet for dealing with the stresses of a demanding industry. In 2009 she began studying at the Dallas Comedy House in Dallas, Texas and became the first woman graduate of the program. She is also a graduate of Four Day Weekend in Fort Worth, Texas and has been a part of a variety of improv, sketch, and writing teams. In addition to her comedy credits, Lauren has been featured as a screen actor for NBC, TCU, and other independent projects. The conflict arises in that she has to make a choice to going on the mission of a lifetime versus the love of her daughter that she would have to leave behind.
