I first met Stefanie Purificati at Nunavut Music Week in 2019 during the trip of a lifetime up north to work with Indigenous artists. There were so many special connections made on that trip; both for the artists and the industry professionals involved. Stef made me laugh over dinner one of the first evenings at the legion and we've been seeing each other at shows in Toronto ever since! Stefanie is an agent and music industry veteran who got her start as the in-house talent buyer at the Drake Hotel. She began her career as an agent in 2010 and has just recently joined The Feldman Agency (who represent bands like Feist, Orville Peck, Shania Twain, The Beaches & more, peep the roster HERE). A highly active member of the community, Stefanie has sat on the Board of Directors for the Country Music Association of Ontario, worked for the Polaris Music Prize for a decade, and is a frequent panelist at conferences like Canadian Music Week, Halifax Pop Explosion, Line Check (Milan, Italy), Canadian Country Music Week and many more. Quebec's Justine Blanchet drops by the podcast to share hew new single with us! While Justine divides her time between her native city of Montreal and Nashville, “Hard to Love” represents a lot of notable Nashville firsts for her. It's her first collaboration with hitmaking Nashville producer Danick Dupelle (Emerson Drive, Tebey, Tyler Joe Miller, Matt Lang), her first single to be produced in Music City, and the upcoming music video was also filmed there. This single is also the first release from her debut EP that will drop in 2023. She'll be returning to Nashville in the fall to finish it. Written by a trio of noted songwriters - Courtney Cole, Derrick Southerland, and Kelly Archer – “Hard to Love” offers an inviting country flavour crossed with modern pop in its examination of love that's just out of reach. “Hard to Love” follows eight past single releases for Justine – including 2019's “Strong” (over 175K streams on Spotify) and 2021's “Get Out of the Mud” (#4 on CBC Country/Sirius XM) – and live show highlights like the Festival Country Lotbinière, the Gatlingburg Songwriter's Festival, Big Valley Jamboree, the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and a pair of Diamonds in the Rough showcases during Canadian Country Music Week.

Born & raised in the small Alberta Peace Country town of Hines Creek, music found DUANE STEELE early on. He fondly remembers parties at his parents' home with everyone sitting around singing and playing various instruments. As teenagers, Duane and his cousins started a band spending summers and weekends playing for weddings and community dances. In 1984, Duane's professional career began, fronting the band Rock 'N' Horse. Their album Highways was released in 1991. Despite top 20 singles, non stop touring, and a Juno nomination for Country Band of the Year Rock 'N' Horse disbanded in 1993. Duane took this opportunity to pursue his goals as a recording artist and songwriter, landing a publishing contract with Warner Chapel in Nashville.  In 1995, a showcase at Canadian Country Music Week in Calgary resulted in his signing a recording contract with Mercury Canada. Duane's solo debut album "PO Box 423" was released in February 1996 and saw his first three singles go Top 5 on the Canadian Country Charts, including the #1 Hit "Anita Got Married". His sophomore release "This Is The Life" was released a year and a half later and all six singles released achieved Top 30 chart position (two becoming Top 10 hits). In support of both albums, Duane released seven music videos on CMT (three of which went to #1). He spent time on the road traveling with his CCMA award-winning band opening for some of the hottest acts in country music including Shania Twain. In 1997, Duane was the winner of the CCMA for Vocal Collaboration of the Year with Lisa Brokop for the single "Two Names On An Overpass". Duane has just released a new album called Dirt & Dreams. Tune in to hear him talk about his music career & the new songs.

She's also had a tour with Alan Jackson, a Green-carpet performance at the 2014 CCMA Awards and shows for the Maple Leafs (Air Canada Centre). Leah’s latest single “Go Back” was released in October and a new album is on the way in early 2015. Since her debut, Barbara’s brand of country has garnered her a number of opportunities and accolades, including nominations for the first round ballot at the inaugural 2013 CMAO awards in four categories, and the chance to perform at The Diamond in the Rough Showcase in Saskatoon at Canadian Country Music Week. More recently, she qualified as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, a finalist in the Great American Songwriting Competition and landed a spot on the Nashville Songwriter’s Association 2014 ‘Ones To Watch’ list. Her latest album is called Love From All Sides. Her new CD release Write From The Heart has her teaming up with fellow songwriters Troy Kokol, Patti Jo Lennox, Joni Delaurier and her friend Amy Bishop, who is Nancy’s co-writer on “Holy Moly Christmas”.
