In this episode of Midnight at the Movies, I give my raw thoughts and first impressions of the film Impractical Jokers: The Movie (2020), directed by Chris Henchy, starring Joe Gatto, Brian Quinn, James Murray, and Sal Vulcano... and Paula Abdul.
Guest: Chris Henchy is best known as the producing partner with Will Farrell and Adam McKay, working on movies like Daddy's Home and Tammy, and TV shows like Eastbound and Down, and Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. Now he's making his directorial debut with Impractical Jokers: The Movie based on the hit hidden camera show. Chris talks about the difficulty of shooting challenges with hidden cameras and non-actors; he also shares what each of the Jokers (Sal Vulcano, Brian Quinn, Joe Gatto, Brian Murray) are like in real life. He also reveals the one challenge that went so wrong, they couldn't include it in the movie. Host: Shanee Edwards graduated from UCLA Film School with an MFA in Screenwriting. She recently won the Next MacGyver television writing competition to create a TV show about a female engineer. Her pilot, Ada and the Machine, is currently in development with America Ferrera's Take Fountain Productions. CHRIS HENCHY is a co-founder of Gary Sanchez Productions and the interweb sensation Funny or Die. He is also the co-executive producer of HBO's critically acclaimed series Entourage, Funny or Die Presents, and Eastbound & Down. In addition to producing, he is also a scribe for the screens. He created TV shows like Battery Park and I'm With Her, which is loosely inspired by his marriage to super model Brooke Shields. Henchy has written for numerous television shows and films, including The Campaign, The Other Guys, and Land of the Lost. Most importantly, he is tall. EMPLOYEE of the MONTH's host CATIE LAZARUS is not tall. She is short and broke, but much more inspired to write and make stuff after speaking with Henchy. You probably will be as well. I would say your welcome, but you were really just thanking Chris. I get it.
Please support this guy's energy plan. I wrote this concept and then brought it to my friends Adam McKay and Chris Henchy over at funnyordie.com. They got me connected with Lauren Palmigiano who...
