Hello Friends of the Most Excellent 80s Movies Podcast! We are taking a short break between seasons during February and March. In the meantime please enjoy these REBROADCAST episodes, some favorites of ours, to tide you over until we return on Wednesday April 9th with new episodes!Get ready to saddle up for some wildly excellent 80s action with The Most Excellent 80s Movies podcast's tubular recap of Lethal Weapon! Our radical hosts Krissy, Nathan, and special guest Andy Andy Nelson gnaw their way through this primo slice of buddy-cop nostalgia. It's 1987 and extreme odd couple, detectives Riggs and Murtaugh, are trading quips and bullets on the streets of LA. The hosts serve up a bodacious summary of this classic flick starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as the mismatched cop duo. Majorly Important Points:They dish on how this flick totally created the formula for buddy cop flicks with its wacky partners. We dig it!Some stuff like Riggs' grief and the villains are now kinda bogus and don't hold up. Bummer! The action scenes are styling and they can roll with the occasional plot holes. Sweet! They analyze whether the wild Western-style ending fights really move the story. Hmmm.Other Triumphant Topics:This movie screams the 1980s with its cliches, tropes, and references. Classic! The action is almost as extreme as director Michael Bay's future flicks. Ka-boom!Some bits about women and doctors are now super cringe. Not cool!Is this really a holiday classic or just set at Christmas? We're not sure, dudes. They rate this radical movie between 6 and 8 "buns" out of 10.In conclusion, this most excellent 80s flick is a pioneer of buddy cop films despite some heinous elements that don't age well. --We couldn't do this without your support of The Most Excellent 80s Movies Podcast! GREAT time talking to Marcus Griffin live from Riggs Brewery prior to last Fridays big win over Purdue. We discuss the current team, who he thinks will stay for next year, as well as preview the Purdue game. Then we have fun with comparing old Illini teams of the past, and tell a lot of fun stories. There's also questions from the crowd that are a lot of fun. This episode is also a great one for PARENTS and KIDS to listen to. For you parents that want to find some dumb loophole in the school handbook, or blame the school, or a teacher, or anyone except your own child when they get in trouble because you think your child's perfect, PLEASE listen to Marcus' thoughts on that subject. Ok rant over, it's a great episode. ENJOY.
There used to be a Twitter account that a guy called “Sh*t My Dad Says”, which was made into a TV Series starring William Shatner. My dad was like that. He had his own little way of saying things. Everybody called my dad “Mighty” (a.k.a. Leonard Riggs, Sr) because of his athletic abilities when he was younger and i still have to laugh at his “Mightyisms”.

Water is becoming one of the most valuable resources of our time, yet the industry remains outdated, centralized, and struggling to meet growing global demands. In this episode of The Richer Geek Podcast, we are joined by Riggs Eckelberry, a nationally-renowned entrepreneur and the founding CEO of OriginClear, who is on a mission to transform the water industry through decentralized solutions and innovative investment opportunities. With a background spanning technology, nonprofit leadership, and oceangoing navigation, Riggs brings a unique perspective to fixing a broken system. He's pioneering modular, plug-and-play water treatment systems, creating new ways for businesses and investors to participate in this essential market. In this episode, we're discussing... The water industry is facing a crisis: Aging infrastructure and increasing demand are creating a significant funding gap, leading to more frequent water main breaks and other problems. Decentralized water solutions are key: Treating water at the source (industrial, agricultural) relieves pressure on municipal systems and allows for greater water recycling. OriginClear's modular systems offer a solution: Their plug-and-play water treatment pods simplify the process for businesses and reduce upfront costs. Water-as-a-service is a game-changer: This model eliminates the need for businesses to invest in expensive equipment, making water treatment more accessible and affordable. It also creates a recurring revenue stream for investors. Investing in water is a smart move: The water industry is ripe for disruption, offering a unique investment opportunity with potential for high returns and positive environmental impact. Multiple investment options exist: OriginClear offers both crowdfunding (Reg A+) and accredited investor opportunities, making it accessible to a wide range of investors. Water stablecoins are on the horizon: This innovative financial instrument could further revolutionize the water industry by creating a more stable and transparent market. OriginClear is leading the charge: They are not only developing technology but also creating financial models and partnerships to drive widespread adoption of decentralized water solutions.
