We have reached the 1990s! For this episode on our quest to create a list of the 30 Greatest Scottish Songs ever- as well as our resident Bay City Poller Caroline Binnie, we were joined by our friends, the actor Colin McCredie & Station Manager for Cumbernauld FM Gerry Duffy. In addition to the panel re-stating how great the 1980s nominated songs are ( all 42 of them!) we had a proper discussion on both the songs that have been voted into from the 1990s list, and more important those that weren't! Thankfully, all 4 panelist used their jokers wisely, adding a quality song each back onto the list. We also got Gerry & Colin to give us their ' die on a hill' Top 10 Scottish song nomination, and ended the chat by sharing some Wham trivia that aged us all in real time... A mighty fine time was had by all, hope that comes across when you have a look/listen. As ever, enjoy & stay safe
Tune in as Arthur's pal Robyn Zabukovec pops back up on 2CC for a discussion on Shallow Grave, the 1994 thriller that follows an obnoxious trio of British flatmates who descend into paranoia after dealing with the corpse and the big bag of money that have fallen into their laps. The black comedy that this film manages to smoothly blend in with its suspense, appreciation for onscreen blood that avoids looking too fake, the time when the cops had caught Robyn jaywalking through a blizzard, and whether it's less painful to die from the heat or from the cold comprise just some of the talking points for this episode. Directed by Danny Boyle, Shallow Grave stars Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston, Kerry Fox, Keith Allen, Ken Stott, Colin McCredie, Peter Mullan, Leonard O'Malley, Tony Curran, and John Hodge. Although we love having guests from some of our favourite bands on the Live Music & Me podcast, its extra special when we welcome an actor as a guest. And, even more so, when the actor is the Scottish legend Colin McCredie. Colin is well known for his acting prowess - however, from an early age, music has been an integral part of his world. Therefore, the discussion we had on his gig memories was full of cracking bands that he saw, and some brilliant stories connected to them. From a first gig seeing Hipsway in their prime at the cultural metropolis that is Perth City Hall in 1987, to being pleasantly surprised at how good Paul MacCartney was in Glasgow, to sneaking in under-age to see Texas at Fat Sams Dundee, ( we think we were at the same concert!) - Colin was in very fine form . He was also the first guest that managed to give the same answer to 3 different questions ( a gig that he had a ticket to but missed, gig he travelled the furthest to see, and one Live Album we should all own a copy of!) - and also the first guest to reference the same band for a bucket gig in the past he missed, and one that he still hopes to go to! And to top all that, Colin also managed to somehow secure a ticket to the opening launch night at King Tuts in Glasgow in 1990! It was an absolute pleasure to host this podcast with Colin, and hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it! Enjoy, and stay safe

Just like The Beatles' Mr Kite, tonight Sam and Dan are topping the bill, and a splendid time is indeed guaranteed for all, as we present to you Episode 26 of Dogger Saints; An Unofficial St. Johnstone Podcast! The lads are thrilled this week to be joined by Perth-raised thespian and Saints fan Colin McCredie to discuss his love of the Saints, the return of the theatre, his experience of co-commentating behind closed doors, and much more in a lovely chat. It has long been said that only proper football teams play Galatasaray one night and then Arbroath three days later, and we happen to agree, so we discuss both games and their own (at times) beautiful variations, and look forward to the prizes we were all after anyway, a Shaggers Conference League Play-Off tie with LASK Linsk and (ah, not this shit again) a quarter-final Derby that's not a Derby against Dundee. Just like 90s quiz mainstay and butter knife wielding madman Chris Tarrant, we want to give you more than that, and boy oh boy we do! A trip to the Club Shop of Shame raises an awful lot of questions about certain sinister board game characters, the letter E for the Alphabet There is settled, we totally bottle this weeks Theme Team and the ULTIMATE trip to the Royal finally happens! We give you all this and so much more. What an event. What a time to be alive. Get there!
On this week's show, Leagues One and Two are back and straight into their old routine on a good week for the top teams; there's all manner of drama as both sets of Saints battle it out for a spot in the Premiership top 6; the Championship relegation race twists yet again; and we interview a celebrity St Johnstone fan whose acting career has involved more murder than the average Celtic defensive performance. All this and more in this week's edition of The Auchterarder Chippy!Music Credits:Duck In The Alley, TrackTribeAir Fàir An Là, Niteworks (ft. SIAN)
In the latest of our guest specials, John B is joined by celebrity Hibs fan Grant Stott. The conversation starts by how the two arranged the podcast, which was when fellow actor Colin McCredie retweeted a pre-France '98 STV screenplay "The Game" starring the late Andy Gray, which was based around three friends watching the 1978 World Cup. Grant then talks about his current role hosting The Afternoon Show on BBC Radio Scotland and how much he enjoys that role. We go back in time to delve into Grant's rise to fame from Go45 and See You, See Me through Wemyss Bay 902101 to Fully Booked, plus his stints hosting Children In Need Scotland. This leads onto his Panto roles and why he loves playing the Pantomine Villain, including such interestingly named characters like Flash Boaby, Gobina McPhlegm and Hibernia Hardup. Here's hoping that Panto will be back to normal this year after Covid killed off the Christmas tradition in 2020. Grant describes his love of Hibs and how he didn't get into football until the early 90's when he decided to keep his Dad company. He discusses some of the strange times like the "Hands off Hibs" campaign through to that iconic 2016 Scottish Cup Final that ended a 114 year wait for the trophy. In addition, he gives an insight into the hospitality hosting and how it got his Dad to meet his heroes. He also became one of the last presenters of Scotsport with Andy Walker for two years in 2006, he talks about the privilege of hosting the show and the regret that STV were unable to keep it going. We round off with the usual slow fire questions, including a Celebrity Hibs 6 a side team and Best Hibs XI. Good John is back with another guest special, this time it's not a footballer or coach. He was joined by Actor and St Johnstone fan Colin McCredie. Colin starts off by talking about the effects Covid has had on the acting industry and concerns for the future, though he was able to do some work by using his daughter's bedroom for a scene. He then goes through his acting career, mainly his role as DC Fraser in Taggart including working with fellow co-stars James McPherson, Blythe Duff, John Michie and Alex Norton. He talks at length about the storyline of his character revealing that he was gay and how that was received within the media, and also the sour axing of his character after 15 years on the show. He also covers off roles in River City, Wooly and Tig and Still Game as well as pantomine roles. Away from the sets and stage, Colin talks fondly about his love for St Johnstone FC from the early 80's starring Ally McCoist and Jim Brogan to the present day. The interview couldn't be passed without recalling the clubs finest hour on 17 May 2014 when they won the Scottish Cup. He also gives his thoughts on the current squad and hopes for the season. We then round off with the usual slow fire questions, including who his ideal on-screen wife would be and a best Saints XI. After a brief break to gather our thoughts and set up new guests, the Scots Whay Hae! podcast returns. Number 18 sees Ali talking to TV's Colin McCredie about the best from Scottish Telly past. It's a big subject to cover, but we manage to touch on programmes from the 1960s to the present day. I'm sure we missed many people's favourites, but hopefully there's enough of interest to please everyone from casual watchers to Telly Addicts.
