Andrew has had a wide range of employment experience; 20 years of which in the corporate which culminated during his retirement from Merrill Lynch in 2005. It was followed by years of executive coaching, his identified passion, and his niche, specifically with high-performing executives transitioning to leadership roles. This paved the way for the creation of PQ in 2019, expertise adapted from elite sports which measure Stress and Recovery and other performance factors among high-performing executives.Highlights:Physiological Quotient (PQ) is how one's body system affects one's performance capacity. Performance is linked to wellbeing Stress - is physiologically measurable; it is directly linked to performance and homeostasis Bodily response - a product of 3 elements: genetics (indigenous factor), environment (exogenous factor), and management (which coaching can improve)Diary - everyone should keep a record and a schedule of his own performance and recovery; a recovery should be done before the set next performanceRecovery - the amount of sleep is highly correlated with one's creativity and productivity Recovery space - depending on one's personality, recovery space may vary from sleep, nutrition, sipping coffee, or indulging in other recreational activities If you are interested in understanding your own levels of stress, recovery, and burnout in relation to your performance, Andrew has a lot of wisdom to offer. Oura rings, specifically, now deliver very accurate data. This can be converted into PQ Profiles to support self and team management. If you already wear an Oura ring, why not connect with Andrew? Whether you are an executive or a plain professional who wants to improve your own creativity and productivity both at work and in your home life, PQ could be your guide. It is a great way to renegotiate how we operate in the workplace, invest in ourselves, and perform better.—------------------------Follow him on LinkedIn or at Andrew.mcdonalds@pq_perform.compq_perform.com—------------------------52 Weeks of Me is hosted by Jacklyn Osborne and Erika Brooks. Just a few months after beginning their initial partnership in the Bay Area in October 2021, the companies are expanding their collaboration so that drivers across the U.S. will soon have access to Wallbox's discounted EV charging package. “Helping drivers go electric is a crucial part of our plan to get to zero-emissions by 2030 in the U.S.,” states Andrew Macdonald, Uber's senior vice president of mobility and business operations. “This partnership with Wallbox helps drivers by making it more affordable and accessible to charge their EVs, and we're excited to give more drivers the chance to take advantage of it.” The partnership is being supported by an Uber program that makes drivers of fully electric vehicles (EV) eligible for a zero emissions incentive, so they can earn an extra $1 on every Uber trip (up to $4,000 annually). https://ngtnews.com/uber-wallbox-roll-out-additional-collaborations-for-ev-chargers-across-the-u-s TESLA FACTORY FIRE IN FREMONT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION A fire ignited outside the Tesla plant in Fremont where pallets of cardboard debris went up in flames, according to the Fremont Fire Department. GM believed that allowing employees to charge EVs for free while on the job would encourage EV adoption as GM transitions to an all-EV lineup by 2035. But the pandemic escalated and many salaried workers went home to work and have not returned as COVID rages on. Many companies are taking a long-term view that people will return to office sites and adoption of EVs will grow in future years — therefore the chargers will be used. FLO, which is based in Quebec, started shipping chargers to GM last October. It has shipped 495 Level 2 chargers to date and 18 DC fast chargers to GM's facilities in Detroit, Warren and Flint as well as to GM facilities in other states When GM said it would add 3,500 new electric vehicle charging stations across its facilities by 2025, it had about 918 chargers already installed across various GM campuses in North America. GM's research at the time, which was early 2020, said drivers are "six times more likely to drive an EV" if they can charge it at their workplace. https://eu.freep.com/story/money/cars/general-motors/2022/02/02/gm-keeps-installing-ev-chargers-its-sites-even-workers-stay-remote/9232478002/ LAW WOULD REQUIRE NEW BUILDINGS TO HAVE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS | ADVANTAGENEWS.COM Some home builders say it is too soon to require new Illinois buildings to have designated parking spaces for electronic vehicle (EV) charging. House Bill 3125, sponsored by Rep. Robyn Gabel, D-Evanston, has advanced through the House Energy and Environment Committee. The bill would require newly constructed buildings to set aside a certain number of parking spaces with the capability to meet wiring requirements for electric vehicles. Dean Graven, president of the Home Builders Association of Illinois, told The Center Square that it is too soon to require specific wiring for mandated EV chargers. Graven said. Many different EV manufacturers are producing electric vehicles – all with distinctive charging requirements. At this juncture, mandating that builders install wiring does not make sense, Graven said. “We have no idea how many amps will be needed,” he said. “If we put something in, will it be enough? Will it be too much? They are going to have to have an electrician come back and change everything out again.” The situation reminds Graven of the 1980s, when VHS and Betamax were duking it out to be the dominant video recorder. What will the car market look like in 10 or 15 years, he said? No one knows. Toyota, one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world, has said they are prioritizing hydrogen cell technology over electric, Graven said. “Hydrogen is the one element in the universe that there is more of than anything else,” Graven said. “So, could that happen to us? We're all EV, and then in 10 years, hydrogen comes along?” https://www.advantagenews.com/news/law-would-require-new-buildings-to-have-electric-vehicle-charging-stations/article_49475cf6-81d4-11ec-af70-9b85941d4175.html LAW WOULD MAKE PARKING IN EV CHARGING SPOTS A TRAFFIC INFRACTION - GREATER GREATER WASHINGTON https://ggwash.org/view/83673/virginia-law-would-make-parking-in-ev-spots-a-traffic-infraction-for-drivers-of-gas-powered-vehicles ISRAELI BUS OPERATORS MUST BUY ONLY ELECTRIC BUSES BY 2026 - ELECTRIVE.COM https://www.electrive.com/2022/02/02/israeli-bus-operators-must-buy-only-electric-buses-by-2026/ EVS TO POWER KENYA'S BUS RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM | TECHCRUNCH https://techcrunch.com/2022/02/02/evs-to-power-kenyas-bus-rapid-transit-system/ ELECTRIC VEHICLE OWNERS SAY NEW HAWAII TAX SINGLES THEM OUT | LOCAL | KITV.COM https://www.kitv.com/news/local/electric-vehicle-owners-say-new-hawaii-tax-singles-them-out/article_759f55aa-8400-11ec-a270-2fb0e58019d5.html DETAILS ON LATEST BYD HAN EV LEAKED, RANGE INCREASED TO 715 KM – PANDAILY https://pandaily.com/details-on-latest-byd-han-ev-leaked-range-increased-to-715-km/ THE HYUNDAI IONIQ ELECTRIC HAS THE BEST MOT PASS RATE FOR AN ELECTRIC CAR IN THE UK | CARSCOOPS https://www.carscoops.com/2022/02/the-hyundai-ioniq-electric-has-the-best-mot-pass-rate-for-an-ev-in-the-uk/ SCANIA TO SUPPLY 5 BATTERY-ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND 1.6 MW OF CHARGING EQUIPMENT https://www.scania.com/group/en/home/newsroom/press-releases/press-release-detail-page.html/4174375-scania-to-supply-5-battery-electric-vehicles-and-1-6-mw-of-charging-equipment-to-swedish-haulier-for ASIAN PETROLHEAD TAKES GENESIS G80 ELECTRIC SEDAN OUT IN THE SNOW https://insideevs.com/news/565051/asian-petrolhead-genesisg80electrified-snow-review/ QUESTION OF THE WEEK WITH EMOBILITYNORWAY.COM I'm taking a break this weekend so won't have the time on Saturday and Sunday to do this, it's back next week. Having a team that performs consistently requires having people that are maximizing their performance every day – they achieve peak performance. Olympic class athletes are obsessed by sustaining peak performance. They measure it and they monitor what impacts it from sleep to food to mediation. But as leaders, we expect to perform like an Olympic class atheletes every day but we do nothing to assess our “peak” and to understand how to sustain it. Plus we spend little time assessing what our team members need to be at their peak performance every day. We can change that with science and methodology. Tune in to hear how.
