We turn to relationships and their success or lack thereof as Paul gives us "You Won't See Me" this week. How does the song stand up to the other Jane Asher songs? How must it feel to have your relationship very publically catalogued in this way? And is the song a little under-rated? What if we don't know how to take up space? Maybe it wasn't taught to us growing up. Maybe it's not naturally part of our culture. On this episode swap, Krystl talks with Erika Casupanan — the first ever Filipino AND Canadian to win Survivor! Erika is a speaker, TV personality, and writer who's built a career on flipping the script on what it means to be underestimated. On Happy to See Me, she interviews guests who were often counted out — and highlights how they broke past the limits placed on them.In this episode, Erika and Krystl have a vulnerable and empowering conversation around a big question:They talk about their Filipino upbringing, imposter syndrome, the upper limit problem, and the slow, intentional process of building real self-compassion. You'll hear stories, reflections, and practical insights that will inspire you to be kind to yourself and step into your power authentically.✨ This one's for anyone who's ever felt small in spaces they were meant to shine in.Support Filipino BC's Kapwa Strong Fund https://filipinobc.com/Follow the Happy to See Me Pod on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/happytoseemepod/Listen to the Happy to See Me Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/happy-to-see-me-with-erika-casupanan/id1667189595Follow Erika on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/erika_cas/Subscribe to the podcast on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@happytoseemepodPlease rate, review and subscribe!

Send us a message, so we know what you're thinking! The late Steve Harley was most famous for his 1975 hit Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me), but there's much more to the story than one good single. We look at the band's early albums and Steve Harley's career around and after that single and the band's break up. As usual, Mick says their early stuff is way better than their later stuff! Our Album you Must Listen to Before You Die is “Tres Hombres”, ZZ Top's 1973 album containing the huge hit “La Grange”. Regular listeners might guess what we thought of the album, but let's not spoil the surprise! We also look at Louder magazine's recent poll where their readers voted for Genesis' 10 best-ever songs. Spoiler alert: Only 2 of the selected songs are post-Peter Gabriel's departure. For those interested, we covered Genesis in Series 2, Episode 15, and Peter Gabriel in Series 2, Episode 14 There's plenty here you may not have known. Enjoy! Send us a Text Message.Accountability is a very vulnerable place. Facing accountability means that we have to put ourselves in a place of absolute trust. Trusting that when you share your most vulnerable parts, people will see you and still love you for who you are. Accountability is often what stops us from taking the steps to move forward with changes that we know we need to make out of fear of exposing our most vulnerable parts. Until we face our accountability we often live in a place of self sabotage which leads to self medication and ultimately avoidance of the issue. As Health Coaches, we are the accountability partner for our clients and we know how impactful it can be to face accountability and step into it. Freedom from the issues that burden your mental and physical health are on the other side of accepting accountability. In this podcast we unpack accountability, some of the reasons people avoid it, and explore the joy that can come from working past your fear of being held accountable. “Going to the coconut tree”. You hear it all the time on “Survivor”. What does that mean? Erica Casupanan spills the beans. She is the first Canadian to win “Survivor”, and the first Filipino. Tiny and Asian, she was tired of always being underestimated, so she used it on “Survivor 41”. Erika voted out her rivals, won over everyone else, and surprise, she won! More than a million bucks. A bit more than her previous salary as a communications manager, where she saw power dynamics at play. People are treating her very seriously now. Mo tried to get Wendy to try out for Amazing Race Canada, but Wendy couldn't imagine life without her special pillow. Then Erika said she was only allowed to wear underwear for the whole show. That had absolutely nothing to do with Wendy's decision. Really. Erika now does a podcast, called “Happy to See Me”, where she is not so secretly trying to make the world a better place. And to hell with the trolls, winning “Survivor” taught her she can do anything. As for the million bucks, Erica's only bought one pair of fancy shoes. You can watch this episode on YouTube. British musician Steve Harley, whose glam-rock band Cockney Rebel had an enduring hit with the song Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me), has died at the age of 73. Harley said late last year he was being treated for “a nasty cancer”. Born in London in 1951, Harley worked as a trainee accountant and as journalist on local newspapers, and began his performing career at London folk clubs. He formed Cockney Rebel, which released a debut album The Human Menagerie in 1973 before foundering over creative differences. With a new line-up and rebranded as Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, the band released the 1975 album The Best Years of Our Lives, which contained Harley's biggest hit. With its barbed lyrics – aimed at Harley's former bandmates – and infectiously catchy chorus, the Alan Parsons-produced Make Me Smile topped the United Kingdom singles chart. It went on to be covered scores of times and was used on countless soundtracks, including in the 1997 film The Full Monty and in ads for Carlsberg beer and department store Marks and Spencer. Harley also sang the title song of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical The Phantom of the Opera alongside Sarah Brightman when it was released as a single in 1986. He was originally cast in the title role for the stage musical but was replaced by Michael Crawford. Ultravox frontman Midge Ure, who produced Harley's 1982 track I Can't Even Touch You, called him a “true ‘working musician'”. “He toured until he could tour no more, playing his songs for fans old and new,” Ure wrote on social media. “My thoughts go out to Dorothy and his family at this very sad time. Our songs live on longer than we ever can”. Harley is survived by his wife Dorothy, children Kerr and Greta and four grandchildren.

Go to Part Two or Read the articleOn the Second Hour of Driving To The Rez episode “See Me, Don't See Me”, a really good point was made by one of our panelists, Iliana Rojero. The point was that sometimes we are all set to do something, in her case do a public talk, and our body starts to fill us with fear. Basically, our body is telling us not to do the thing we planned to do.Topics we cover:The conflict between what we say we want and what we are actually manifestingLooking at limitationsWhen the body wants something and the soul wants something else, who wins?Exercise to see if you identify with the body or the soulDoing an exercise just once, might not be enoughExamples from going skyingIt is not about tricking the body into doing stuffWhat is the most important, key point when talking to the bodyPast life trauma and skills
