If your faith on the inside cannot be seen in how you live on the outside, you might not have faith at all.
The disciples didn't understand the truth while they were living it out. But when it clicked in their hearts, they couldn't hold it in.
Brother Phil Gabbard Text: James 2:14-26 Different Kinds of Faith 1. Dead Faith 2. Demonic Faith 3.Dynamic Faith
James 2:14–26 presents a powerful theological challenge to the notion of a faith that exists without corresponding actions, arguing that genuine faith is inherently active and evidenced by works. The passage confronts the complacency of believers who profess faith yet live unchanged lives, using vivid illustrations—such as offering empty blessings to a starving person—to expose the emptiness of faith without deeds. Through the examples of Abraham and Rahab, James demonstrates that faith is validated not by mere belief, but by obedience and sacrificial action, showing that faith and works are inseparable in the life of a true believer. The sermon underscores that a faith devoid of good works is not only ineffective but dead, reflecting a heart untransformed by the Holy Spirit, and calls all believers to reject hypocrisy, embrace holiness, and live as those whose faith is active, obedient, and glorifying to God.

We are studying some "Snapshots in James" on Sunday nights! Tonight, what does James tell us about dead faith and living faith?
Authentic faith goes far beyond intellectual agreement with biblical truths - it produces genuine transformation in how we live. James addresses the critical distinction between dead faith and living faith, emphasizing that true faith naturally results in good works. This isn't about earning salvation through actions, but rather understanding that works are the inevitable fruit of genuine faith. As John Calvin noted, faith alone justifies, but the faith that justifies is never alone. James illustrates this principle through practical examples, showing how empty words without corresponding actions accomplish nothing. Just as telling a hungry, naked person to be warm and fed without providing help is meaningless, faith that produces no life change is equally useless. Even demons possess correct theology and believe in God, yet they remain in rebellion because their belief doesn't transform their hearts. The examples of Abraham and Rahab demonstrate how living faith manifests differently across various backgrounds. Abraham, the faithful patriarch, showed living faith by his willingness to sacrifice Isaac. Rahab, despite being a Gentile prostitute, demonstrated the same living faith by protecting the Israelite spies. Both were considered righteous not merely for their beliefs, but for how their faith produced action. This teaching doesn't contradict salvation by grace - rather, it explains how genuine salvation naturally produces visible fruit in a believer's life.
In this episode, Rabbi Schneider unpacks the powerful message of James - is belief enough? Through the examples of Abraham and Rahab, you'll discover how obedience activates God's promises and how your own faith can come alive and produce lasting spiritual fruit.

Dead Faith: The Danger of Free Grace Theology (Easy Believism) Guest: Pastor Jeffrey Dollar In this episode of G220 Radio, we're joined by Pastor Jeffrey Dollar to examine the growing influence of Free Grace Theology, often referred to as "Easy Believism." While claiming to uphold the free gift of salvation, this theological system dangerously separates faith from repentance, obedience, and transformation — reducing saving faith to mere mental assent. We'll walk through key biblical passages such as James 2, Ephesians 2:8–10, and others to demonstrate how true saving faith always bears fruit, not as a means of earning salvation, but as the evidence of it. Together, we'll refute the idea that a believer can remain unchanged while professing Christ, and we'll highlight the serious implications this theology has on evangelism, discipleship, and assurance. If you've ever heard someone say, “I believe in Jesus, so I'm saved — no matter how I live,” this is a show you don't want to miss. #G220Radio #FreeGraceTheology #EasyBelievism #DeadFaith #LordshipSalvation #SoundDoctrine #BiblicalTruth #FaithAndWorks #RepentAndBelieve #ReformedTheology #ChristianPodcast #StreetEvangelism

Ken Carson brought another convicting teaching from James 2:14-26. Real faith in Jesus for salvation has evidence in our daily lives.
James doesn't mince words: faith without works is dead. But that doesn't mean we earn our salvation—it means that true saving faith will always overflow in action. Through examples like Abraham and Rahab, we're reminded that faith is vindicated before others by our obedience and love.Need Prayer?
