Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1860"Happiness is a moral obligation. There was nowhere in my childhood that happiness was a moral obligation. It was more about long suffering." - Dr. Daniel AmenDr. Daniel Amen grew up Catholic, an altar boy taught that faith meant long suffering, not happiness. He was scared of God more than he was connected to Him. Then a cute Army company clerk asked him to take her to church, which turned out to be a wild Pentecostal healing service with speaking in tongues and dancing. That unexpected detour led him to Teen Challenge, working with drug addicts who found staggering success rates when they stopped making recovery about themselves and started making it about their relationship with God. Years later, after becoming one of the world's leading brain scientists, he walked into his own church past tables of donuts being sold to fund ministry. He got angry. Really angry. So he prayed what felt like the stupidest prayer of his life: that God would use him to change the food culture at churches. Two weeks later, Rick Warren, pastor of one of the largest churches in the world, called him out of nowhere and said, "I'm fat. My church is fat. Will you help me?" Fifteen thousand people signed up the first week. They lost a quarter of a million pounds the first year. The conversation reveals something most people don't know: there's hard science behind why faith works. Researchers at Duke have documented that people who attend religious services regularly get better faster when they're sick. They have lower rates of mental health issues. It's not just the community, though that helps. It's the belief itself. Believing you're here for a purpose, that your body is sacred, that you're wonderfully made. Those beliefs create actual neurotransmitter benefits in your brain. Dr. Amen's purpose is to make a dent in the universe by getting people to love and care for their brains, and he's discovered that faith and brain health aren't separate paths. Your health will reflect the health of your ten closest friends. You get better together or you get sick together. This is a conversation about finding purpose in what you thought was your dumbest moment, about how anger at church donuts can become a movement, and about why happiness isn't just a nice idea but a moral obligation.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. He held his nerve in Abu Dhabi to finish on the podium, which is all he needed to do to become one of only 35 drivers in history to win the F1 World Championship. SubscribeBuy me a coffeeThe U.S. Senate just passed an unprecedented resolution condemning a single private citizen by name—a guy who's never committed an act of violence—simply for having a conversation on Tucker Carlson's show. But here's the twist: this resolution reveals desperation, not dominance. If you understand power, you'll recognize this isn't a flex. It's a tell.In this episode of Reasonable Doubts, we unpack why Congress is obsessed with policing outsiders, why Schumer pushed this vote, and how the political establishment accidentally exposed their own weakness. When a government starts labeling “heretics,” it means dissent is gaining ground — not losing it.This episode breaks down the resolution itself, the political incentives behind it, the media choreography surrounding it, and the deeper psychological purpose of public condemnations. You'll see why the Senate needed this moment — and why it backfired.

Outside of those two, why did the class so heavily feature Pennsylvania and Florida players? Which players could make an impact right away in 2026? And how do this year's freshman, like QB Mason Heintschel, RB Ja'Kyrian Turner and DB Shawn Lee Jr. show that recruiting is still vital for Pitt, even in the age of the transfer portal? Isaiah 7:13-14 and 9:6-7 Welcome to our very first Christmas episode of 2025! Whether you're a long-time listener or brand-new, we're so glad you're here. Today we begin Advent, a special four-week season where Christians prepare their hearts to celebrate Jesus' birth and look forward to His promised return. We'll explore what “Advent” means, why it's important, and how this season invites us to slow down, reflect, and wait with hope. We'll also hear an incredible true story from 1947—when a young shepherd boy discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls, some of the oldest copies of the Bible ever found. Among them was the Book of Isaiah, matching what we read today almost word for word. This amazing discovery reminds us that God's Word has been faithfully preserved for thousands of years and that we can trust His promises. Through Isaiah's ancient prophecies, we'll see how God foretold the coming of Jesus long before He was born—and how Advent helps us celebrate that promise fulfilled. Perfect For: Kids ages 4–12 Family listening Advent devotions Homeschool or classroom Bible time Sunday school preparation

With artificial intelligence stepping off the laptop and out onto job sites, factory floors, and flight decks, are we preparing students for the AI that sees, senses, and acts in the real world, not just the kind that chats back?Matt Kirchner sits down with Lieutenant General Brian Cavanaugh, USMC (Ret.), CEO of VigilanteX. After decades commanding Marines and integrating emerging tech into national defense, Cavanaugh now leads a company building applied AI platforms at the edge: solar- and Starlink-powered trailers with cameras and compute that monitor sites 24/7 and turn video into real-time safety, security and efficiency intelligence.Together, Matt and Brian unpack what “applied AI” really means across the edge-to-cloud continuum. They discuss AI agents running on the edge, natural language search over video, and systems that close the loop from sensor to decision in seconds. They also explore why simply teaching students to prompt chatbots isn't enough, and how K-12, CTE, and higher education can catch up to a world where AI is baked into every system, every site, and every mission.Listen to learn:How VigilanteX combines solar power, Starlink, cameras, and edge compute into their tech. The difference between AI at the edge and AI in the cloud, and why latency, bandwidth, and resilience matter for safety-critical environments. How AI agents work at the edge, and why they can work faster and more efficiently than humans (freeing up humans to do more interesting work). Why Cavanaugh believes every student should understand how data moves from sensors to the edge, to the cloud, and back into real-time control. What China's national push for AI education signals about global competition and how U.S. educators should respond with applied AI in the classroom.➡️ Watch the Full Episode on YouTube3 Big Takeaways from this Episode:1. AI at the edge is becoming a digital teammate. VigilanteX's platforms use cameras, connectivity, and on-site compute to watch for fall risks, PPE issues, intrusions, and abnormal conditions across construction, manufacturing, logistics, and energy sites. The system flags events in real time, routes the right video to supervisors, and builds a data trail leaders can use to change procedures before accidents happen.2. Edge-to-cloud literacy is a new baseline skill for technical careers. Cavanaugh and Kirchner break down how raw sensor and video data is processed locally, filtered, and then pushed to the cloud for storage, analytics, and dashboards. Understanding where computation lives, what data moves, and how AI agents plug into that pipeline prepares students for roles in automation, OT/IT, robotics, and cyber-physical systems in any industry.3. We need to teach applied AI, not just chatbots. While large language models are powerful, the episode shows how AI is part of the edge-to-cloud continuum. Giving students hands-on experience with autonomous systems, computer vision, and industrial data flows helps them see AI as something they can design, deploy, and govern rather than a black box that only lives in a browser.Find links & more resources on the episode page!
