Pride Month is evil, and we must call it what it is. In this episode, we're discussing the spiritual implications of Pride Month, asking hard questions about what it represents—and how believers should respond. We're drawing the connection between pride, identity, and rebellion against God's design for human flourishing. Many Christians feel spiritually drained during this month, and we should. I'm challenging my listeners to love the LGBTQ+ community not with silence or compromise (and certainly not with support) but with truth—the truth that God offers forgiveness, transformation, and eternal life to all who repent and follow Christ. We must hate sin while praying for our enemies. Our culture desperately needs more holiness, conviction, and compassion rooted in the gospel, which is telling those around us the truth.—https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-physical?srsltid=AfmBOoqBR_MWE2-fkYXYHCn80nZtEct4ixmRGrXZSrgIn5HP_tBc9Mcy

In this compelling sermon, Pastor Karl dives into 1 Timothy Chapter 2, continuing his verse-by-verse journey through the Bible. He emphasizes the importance of sound doctrine in guiding the church and individual Christians. Pastor Karl unpacks the big idea that God's ordering is not about oppression but orchestration, designed for our protection and flourishing. He explores Paul's instructions to the church, highlighting the roles of grace, prayer, and devotion in the life of a Christ-follower. Addressing the contested passages on gender roles, Pastor Karl grounds his teaching in Genesis, explaining God's design for maleness and femaleness within the family and church. With clarity and conviction, he calls the church to rest under Scripture, embrace biblical doctrine, and live out God's complementary design as a testimony to the world. This episode challenges listeners to align with God's order, fostering unity and purpose in the church.Watch all our sermons on our YouTube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Grounded in 2 Peter 1:2-4, Osman emphasizes that Christians are fully equipped to live obedient, godly lives. By highlighting divine sufficiency, he dismantles modern spiritual gimmicks that claim to offer more. Everything for holiness comes from knowing Christ and embracing what God has already provided. ★ Support this podcast ★

Episode SummaryIn this very special episode, Bobby Bosler shares an exciting announcement and a deeply personal journey of faith. Speaking from Matthew 14, he draws parallels between Peter's step out of the boat and the major life change God has led him and his family into — accepting the call to pastor Fellowship Baptist Church in Fairmont, West Virginia. Bobby testifies to God's guidance through uncertainty, showing how surrender and obedience open the door for God's miraculous provision and peace.Topics DiscussedStepping out in faith when God's leading feels impossibleThe story behind the call to pastor Fellowship Baptist ChurchHow God uses closed doors and lack of peace to redirect our stepsWrestling with calling, gifting, and identity in ministryEncouragement to follow God's call even when it requires major life changesKey TakeawaysGod's leading often requires taking a step into the impossible. Like Peter walking on water, faith demands stepping out based on God's command, not on visible certainty.Closed doors are part of God's guidance. The lack of peace about repairing or replacing the trailer was God's way of preparing the Bosler family for a completely new direction.Gifting doesn't limit God's calling. Even as an evangelist, Bobby discovered that God could use him to pastor and shepherd a local church, showing that God's calling often stretches us beyond our assumptions.Obedience leads to peace. When Bobby and his wife yielded to the possibility of pastoring, God flooded their hearts with undeniable peace and clarity.A big step of faith inspires others. Just like Peter's step inspired worship in the boat, your obedience can ripple out to encourage others to trust and follow Christ. In this powerful message we unpack Romans 13's call to submit to governing authorities as part of God's design. He acknowledges the difficulty of this teaching, especially in unjust systems, but emphasizes that submission reflects trust in God's sovereignty. Balancing this, he highlights when civil disobedience is biblical—when obedience to authorities conflicts with clear Scripture, as seen in examples like Peter, Daniel, and the Hebrew midwives. Pastor Karl urges the church to wake up from spiritual slumber, cut off the supply lines to sin, and put on Christ daily. With salvation nearer than ever, he challenges listeners to live sober, alert lives, rooted in love—the only debt that grows the more we pay it. Looking ahead, Pastor Karl previews upcoming sermons on Palm Sunday and Easter, encouraging a 13-day devotional journey through the Gospels' accounts of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love
In this episode of The Reformed Brotherhood, Jesse and Tony explore Colossians 2:13-23, focusing on the sufficiency of Christ and the freedom believers have in Him. The conversation begins with a discussion on the legalistic practices that Paul warns against, such as strict food regulations, festivals, and other ceremonial laws, which are described as shadows pointing to the true substance—Jesus Christ. The hosts emphasize that Christ's work on the cross has fulfilled all these requirements, liberating believers from the constraints of legalism and empty religious rituals. The episode addresses the deeper theological implications of being “dead to the world with Christ.” This union with Christ means believers are no longer bound by man-made regulations or ascetic practices that offer no real value in battling sin or promoting true spiritual growth. Instead, believers are called to hold fast to Christ, the source of all spiritual nourishment and growth. The hosts also caution against the dangers of being disqualified by falling into legalistic or mystical practices, which disconnect believers from the sufficiency of Christ. Wrapping up, Jesse and Tony highlight the liberating power of the Gospel, stressing that true Christian freedom is found in living in accordance with God's moral law, not as a means of earning salvation, but as a joyful response to the grace and love of Christ. This episode is a call to reject legalism and embrace the freedom and sufficiency that comes through union with Christ. Key Points: The Shadows of the Old Testament Point to Christ: The Old Testament ceremonial laws, such as dietary restrictions, festivals, and Sabbaths, were shadows that anticipated Christ. With His coming, these shadows are fulfilled in the substance of Jesus. Union with Christ Brings Freedom: Being united with Christ means believers are no longer subject to legalistic or ascetic practices, as they are dead to the elemental spirits of the world and alive in Christ. The Dangers of Legalism and Empty Rituals: Legalism and man-made religious practices cannot bring about true spiritual growth or victory over sin. Instead, they risk disconnecting believers from the sufficiency of Christ. True Christian Freedom and Obedience: Freedom in Christ is not a license for self-indulgence but an invitation to live joyfully within God's moral law, empowered by His grace. Questions for Reflection: How does understanding Christ as the substance of the Old Testament shadows change the way you view the ceremonial laws? In what ways have you seen legalistic or ascetic practices fail to promote true spiritual growth in your life or in others? How can you hold fast to Christ as the source of spiritual nourishment in a world full of distractions and false teachings? What does true Christian freedom look like in your daily life, and how does it differ from a life constrained by legalism?

Main point: It’s hard to obey Jesus, but it’s worth it. 1. Why It’s Hard (13-20) a. Few are actually doing it (13-14) b. Some aren’t actually teaching it (15-20) 2. Why It’s Worth It (21-27) a. Jesus knows those who obey him (21-23) b. Those who obey Jesus will not fall (24-27)
This teaching was recorded from the gathering of The Heights Church in Denver, CO. To learn more about The Heights Church, you can go to TheHeightsDenver.com Everyone wants to live a life that flourishes but few know the pathway into that kind of life. Most people are living in spiritual, financial, relational and emotional ruin. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives us a vision for how we were made to live and serves as our guide on the pathway back to flourishing. As we walk the path with Jesus this Fall, we are going to find that the way into flourishing is different than most people think. In fact, in many ways it is the exact opposite of what we are told in our cultural moment. Jonathan Pennington describes it this way, “The Sermon's answer to the human-flourishing question is that true human flourishing is only available through communion with the Father God through his revealed Son, Jesus, as we are empowered by the Holy Spirit. This flourishing is only experienced through faithful, heart-deep, whole-person discipleship, following Jesus' teachings and life, which situate the disciple into God's community or kingdom.” D.A. Carson calls the Sermon on the mount “Jesus' confrontation with the world.” Each week we will look at a broken vision of flourishing and compare it with Jesus' vision in the Sermon. We will use Jesus' mnemonic device “You have heard that it was said, but I say to you” in order to compare and contrast the world's vision of flourishing with Jesus' vision of flourishing.
Haggai 1:12-15 It is always so encouraging to witness repentant obedience in a person’s life. Unfortunately, often changes of heart like these are few and far between. Nevertheless, Haggai had the opportunity to witness the Jews in Jerusalem turn quickly from their self-centredness and in obedience begin rebuilding the LORD’s temple. This sermon explores what enabled their obedience and what enables Christian obedience today.
Pastor Jim Osman explores how finding refuge in Christ requires submission to His divine kingship. Through an analysis of Psalm 2:10-12, he explains how rulers and all people must give attention to God's warning, offer proper worship, and pledge allegiance to the Son. Finding refuge in Christ means embracing His authority and turning from rebellion to reconciliation, understanding that true blessing comes through submission to God's appointed King. ★ Support this podcast ★

In the sanctification of believers, the Holy Ghost works in them, in their whole souls, their minds, wills, and affections, a gracious, supernatural habit, principle, and disposition of living to God; wherein the substance or essence, the life and being, of holiness consists. This is that spirit which is born of the Spirit, that new creature, that new and divine nature which is wrought in them, and whereof they are made partakers.

Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love
In this episode of the Reformed Brotherhood Podcast, hosts Jesse Schwamb and Tony Arsenal delve into the Scots Confession, focusing on the transformative power of the Holy Spirit and the role of good works in the Christian life. They discuss how the Holy Spirit aligns believers with God's will, leading to a life marked by good works. These works are not just a proof of faith but a vital part of living an abundant life in Christ. The hosts emphasize that while Christians will always struggle with sin, a life characterized by unrepentant sin is inconsistent with a true Christian confession. They stress the importance of ongoing self-reflection to ensure that one's life is marked by the presence and fruit of the Holy Spirit. This introspection is crucial for understanding one's spiritual state and aligning more closely with God's expectations. The episode also touches on the liberating power of the gospel, which frees believers from the impossible burden of earning salvation through works. Instead, good works are seen as a natural outflow of a life transformed by grace. The hosts invite listeners to contemplate their own lives and consider whether they are marked by the transformative presence of the Holy Spirit. Key Points: The transformative power of the Holy Spirit aligns believers with God's will. Good works are both an expectation and evidence of a true Christian life. A life marked by unrepentant sin is inconsistent with a genuine Christian confession. The gospel liberates believers from the burden of earning salvation through works. Self-reflection is essential to ensure one's life is aligned with the presence and fruit of the Holy Spirit. Questions for Reflection: Is your life marked by the presence and fruit of the Holy Spirit? Are there particular sins in your life that you are not wrestling with or fighting against? How does understanding the gospel's liberating power change your perspective on good works?

Don Carson teaches on the importance of obedience to God and his Word as a true demonstration of knowing him, as emphasized in 1 John 2:3-27. Central to the Christian life is having and displaying a genuine love for others, which Carson highlights as a key indicator of living in the light of Christ, himself. He contrasts those who merely talk about faith with those who act on it and discusses the dangers of worldliness versus godliness. Carson also explores the cultural differences in expressing faith through his observations of diverse groups at Cambridge. He addresses the concept of antichrists and the end times in 1 John 2, urging believers to persevere in their faith and remember their hope in Christ.
