This week The Old Man is back to discuss Clifford Stone.  Stone was well known in the Ufology circuit before his death in 2021 & he had many experiences with cleaning up UFO crash sites for the Army.  He wrote an article for UFO Magazine & Phenomena Report in October of 1998 called "Encounter In Vietnam".  I have a personal copy of this issue & the story was too good to not tell to The Old Man.  I naturally dove a bit into Stone's background & we discuss his life in a nutshell as well, so enjoy!CLIFFORD STONE INTERVIEW w/ Paola Harris in 2011:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGaebhIo3rIARTICLE ABOUT CLIFF WITH VIDEOS:https://alien-ufo-sightings.com/2018/08/57-alien-races-confirmed-us-sergeant-clifford-stone/LISTEN TO:The War & Treaty - "Lover's Game"https://www.thewarandtreaty.com/releases/lovers-game-album/Wet Leg https://www.wetlegband.com/Ssold - "Passionate Horse"https://ssold.bandcamp.com/album/passionate-horseSuperheaven - "Ours Is Chrome"https://superheavenband.bandcamp.com/album/ours-is-chromeSoul Blind - "Feel It All Around"https://soulblind.bandcamp.com/album/feel-it-all-aroundShow Me The Body - "Trouble The Water"https://showmethebody.bandcamp.com/album/trouble-the-water84 Tigers - "Time In The Lighthouse"https://84tigers.bandcamp.com/album/time-in-the-lighthouseSoul Glo - "Diaspora Problems"https://soulglophl.bandcamp.com/album/diaspora-problemsSnack Truck - "Terrer Demo" Elliptical Path - "Resonant Topography"https://ellipticalpath.bandcamp.com/album/resonant-topographyDiscordance Axis - "The Inalienable Dreamless"https://discordanceaxis.bandcamp.com/album/the-inalienable-dreamlessPhoebe Bridgers - "Stranger In The Alps"https://phoebebridgers.bandcamp.com/album/stranger-in-the-alpsONYX - "Bacdafucup"https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPfa-Xy2Tv1nqYcS_ZnfxxQ0IKTM7QLZ4NEW WORD OF THE NITE:FERITY[ fer-i-tee ]nouna wild, untamed, or uncultivated state.savagery; ferocity.THE 1 STOP SHOP: https://lostrhetoric.com/EMAIL FOR SOURCE LIST OR JUST TO CHAT:  lostrhetoricpodcast@gmail.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/lostrhetoricpodcast/?hl=enINTRO & OUTRO MUSIC BY LEE DANIEL DINGES

Everyone knows a Soul Blind cover art at this point. It has a unique blend of colors and leaves the background story open to the viewer's imagination. Cen is a huge fan of art and has worked on the first few EPs, but when the band had the opportunity to collaborate with Frank Maddocks (Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory) it was a true full circle moment. That wasn't the only big name that stepped in to help create this record. Will Yip was a crucial piece of the puzzle for the production side of the album. Cen had nothing but high praise for Yip, saying that he brought original ideas to the table that easily makes it clear why he's so highly recommended. The debut album “Feel It All Around” has the makings to be an album of the year for countless publications. Cen and the band is going all out with this band. Soul Blind is falling into the recent surge from hardcore. Cen says that bands like Turnstile are bringing in all walks of life, and although they are two totally different bands, it has opened the door for other groups like Soul Blind. Regardless of popularity, Soul Blind is staying true to themselves. Hardcore is in and Soul Blind are here to say - this record is the exclamation point on the building blocks that were in place over the years for this group from Hudson Valley. Bit of a stinker of a race, but still plenty to talk about. Little bit of follow up touching on the new Sprint Qualifying format as well as track limits. Then diving into qualifying and the race at the Portuguese GP. As much as I don’t want to talk about Mazepin, we should. Is he too slow for Formula 1? What can be done about it? Finally I wrap things up with an explainer about “race pace” vs “qualifying pace.” What are they? Drivers and teams talk about them all the time. I’ll demystify it for you. As always, rate and review the podcast wherever you listen. Thanks! Opening track: Washed Out – Feel It All Around

Nope. Not kidding. Adam Robinson of the hilarious Portlandia shares his chapter with us...phone issues and all. (Gotta love technology.) Adam was influenced by his musician father who is still in three bands in his mid-70s! He tells us about his new teenage mutant turtles guitar, his mom fighting cancer, his first bands and earliest gigs, his love of the band jellyfish. Adam tells us how Portlandia came to be. It all came from a strange opportunity because "some dude broke his foot"...hey, ya never know. His story of the FIRST time he met Fred Armisen is hilarious and how he's still a fanboy of Steve Buscemi. I am joined in the intro by Mister Werkheiser and I get to tell you all about the awesome experience I had at an Umphrey's McGee show. This has been a great week. This past Wednesday, WKNC had the unique opportunity to interview Ernest Greene, frontman for Washed Out. The band is credited by some as a pioneer of the chillwave genre. Washed Out's song “Feel It All Around” has been featured as the theme music for IFC tv show “Portlandia,” and its most recent album “Within and Without” is rising in the college radio charts. Pitchfork awarded the album a rating of 8.3, naming it “Best New Music.” In addition, the LP landed a spot as WKNC's 27th most played this past week. Washed Out will be touring with Cut Copy this September and will make a stop at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro.
