Heirloom pearl necklace 传家宝的珍珠项链除了婚礼现场，还有一个细节特别火：奚梦瑶戴的那条珍珠项链。据说那是家族的珍藏，婆婆送给儿媳妇的礼物。That's what we call anheirloom.Heirloom：传家宝。That pearl necklace is an heirloom(那条珍珠项链是传家宝).也可以叫family heritage（家族传承）。这个 heritage 不仅仅指物质层面，有时候也可以是一种文化或精神。Gifts like that carry emotional value far beyond the price tag. 这样的礼物，承载的情感价值远远超过了它的价格标签。真正珍贵的其实不是珠宝本身，而是背后的传承和祝福。04. “Something Borrowed”：“借来”的幸福还有一个有趣的细节：婚礼晚宴上，奚梦瑶穿的是Chanel 1989年的vintage高定。这让人想起一个西方的婚礼传统："Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."（一点旧的，一点新的，一点借来的，一点蓝色的。）很多欧美婚礼都会遵循这个传统。The "something borrowed" part is usually borrowed from someone happily married. Especially for a couple who have already gone through so much together (尤其对于一对已经一起经历了这么多的夫妻来说).其实这场婚礼最打动大家的地方，可能不是城堡，也不是珠宝。It's the fact that people witnessed(见证)a relationship grow over time.从不被看好，到收获祝福；从被质疑，到被羡慕。Not because it looked perfect. Kentucky's Jeptha Creed Distillery grows all of its corn on the Nethery family's farm nearby, including heirloom grains like Bloody Butcher (red corn) and Bruce's Blue, a strain of blue corn developed on the farm by Bruce Nethery and the inspiration for the new Bruce's Blue Bourbon.  The mother and daughter team of Joyce and Autumn Nethery run the distillery, which attracts thousands of visitors every year. Heirloom, the new album from singer-songwriter Nathan Evans Fox, is out and an impressive manifestation of both creativity and almost historical documentation of an Appalachian artist. Fox joined Roots Music Rambler this week to talk about the new album, his journey to Nashville from the mountains of Western Carolina, fatherhood and more.  Like many artists today, Fox often shares little snippets of what he's working on via social media posts. One nugget of a song-to-be he shared a few months back drove well over one million views across his channels and the song wasn't more than a few lines. He took the queue to finish it in what became “Hillbilly Hymn (Okra & Cigarettes)” which anchors the album. It has a traditional mountain feel and was recorded in an a capella focus with what seems like family gathered round his singing on the front porch.  But the record traverses everything from fatherly advice for a child in Lots of Beginnings to a brilliant “fuck you” song for those Fox gives permission to hate in “Landlords Bill Lee Etc.” It's an amazing mix of home spun advice and statements about the polarization of today's world. He told us the record is a bit of a “seed bank” of his life for his children and the world he'll leave behind. Fox has never shied away from politics or social issues. He even told us when thinking about commercial country music, “The songs about trucks and jello shots don't come organically to me.” He told Frank and Falls a little about gourds, blueberries and seed banking, acknowledged participating in fundamentalist Christian rites like exorcisms, and told us he's leading an anti-confederate southern history book club this summer. To say we were entertained is an understatement. We think you'll be too.  Frank and Falls also share Roots Music Ramblers official member votes for this year's Americana Music Association awards and offer up music recommendations in our Pickin' the Grinnin' segment. Falls recently finished Ken Burn's documentary on Country Music. Frank shared an Instagrammer from Italy that just brings people joy in his feed named Metroman. This week, the Country Music Dads welcome Nathan Evans Fox to the podcast. He is a Nashville-based country music artist and dad with a fascinating new album on the way. He explores his own country upbringing. Using traditional themes of land, hard work and faith, he approaches his music and life from the political left, in a space considered very conservative. Some of you know that I grew up on a small farm in Northern California that sold livestock, poultry and pumpkins directly to consumers. Then most of my career has been spent in large scale commodity agriculture. Which is why I've always been interested in how e-commerce can be used to scale direct to consumer business models. Admittedly there aren't a ton of great examples of this. But we definitely have one for you today in Steve Sando of Rancho Gordo.
