Alt-rock band Faithless Town returns with their latest single, “Stand Together,” a powerful anthem calling for unity in the face of growing global control. Packed with driving electric guitars, soaring slide riffs, and atmospheric organ swells, the track is an unrelenting force designed to ignite unity and defiance against the technocratic parasite class. With a defiant sing-along chorus, "Stand Together" serves as a rallying cry against the technocratic elite and their efforts to push the “Great Reset.” Faithless Town has garnered acclaim with their albums American Refugee, Empires, and Into The Light Vol. 1 and 2, earning extensive radio play and accolades from Americana Highways, Grimy Goods, Twangville, Americana U.K., and more. Known for their electrifying performances, they have graced esteemed venues such as Eddie's Attic, The Whisky a Go Go, and The Viper Room, sharing stages with renowned acts including The Band Camino, Chris Knight, Graham Colton, and Jake Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. On todays episode I chatted with OKC's own Graham Colton. After a chart-topping major label career, numerous TV appearances, and hundreds of sync placements Colton continues to expand on the label “singer-songwriter.” He has logged thousands of miles on the road and shared stages with some of music's biggest artists including Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Kelly Clarkson, The Wallflowers, Counting Crows, John Mellencamp, Maroon 5, and many many more. It wasn't until he returned home to Oklahoma City however that he truly found his footing. Aside from operating Lunar Manor studios, and regular collaboration with Chad Copelin at Blackwatch Studios, he co-owns and operates Oklahoma City's most talked about music venue, The Jones Assembly. After a seven year hiatus OKC native Graham Colton returns to the live stage and it just so happens to be the stage he helped build along-side operating partners Brian Bogert, Scott Marsh & Courtney Mankin. The Jones Assembly will host the singer / songwriter's 20 year anniversary homecoming concert featuring Graham and his band, special guest appearances, a pre-concert cookout, and after-party. Wherever you are listening to this today, some things in your life might be pretty different than they were a week ago. And for some of us, all these changes might feel a little scary. We might not really understand why things are different right now. People we know might seem worried, or anxious, and we don’t know how we can help. So today, we have a special episode for everyone who is walking through this worldwide experience of pandemic together. Join me, as we call out and wait on God. We Wonder is written and hosted by me, Sarah Dahl, and is produced by Richard Clark. Music for today’s episode features “Sing Me to Sleep,” by the Likes of Us and “Safe and Sound,” by Graham Colton. Part 2: Graham Colton tells us about his recording studio, Lunar Manor, while Vonna Pearl performs live.
Part 1: Seasoned singer-songwriter, Graham Colton, talks about his journey as a professional music artist, being an entrepreneur, he also performs live in the studio.
Graham Colton's seen it all in the business: In college, he developed a fervent grassroots fanbase (aided by the advent of file-sharing), and soon was plucked from pubs and coffeehouses by Counting Crows' Adam Duritz, who'd go on to serve as one of his two musical mentors. From there, Colton formed the aptly named Graham Colton Band, released a major-label album filled with radio-ready pop-rock (2004's Drive), and began a high-profile romance with pop star Kelly Clarkson. Along the way, he enjoyed a hit single ("Best Days," from 2007's Here Right Now), which would launch him onto Letterman, Leno, and American Idol – just to name a few. Colton now takes his career into his own hands as an independent artist; his new album, Lonely Ones, is a collection of neo-psych-inspired pop that's among the best music of his career, and he's also the co-founder of Fanswell – an innovative new platform that allows artists and listeners to come together to create intimate concert environments. I caught up with Graham to chat about writing with some of the business' biggest names; his relationship with Flaming Lips frontman (and fellow Oklahoman) Wayne Coyne; how his childhood best friend, Wes Welker, is currently making waves of his own as a Pro Bowl receiver in the NFL; and much more. If you like what you hear, be sure to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, Stitcher or YouTube so you don’t miss a single episode of the stories behind your favorite songs. We're joined by director Dave Green this week to talk about his music videos for Miles Fisher, TJ Miller, Graham Colton, and The Harmonious Pimps of Harmony. But first, Doug and Adam recall some music videos based on movies.
Guest: Singer/Songwriter Graham Colton. Graham's new album, Pacific Coast Eyes, releases nationally on April 5th! see the new Pacific Coast Eyes video right here (on the right) "I've never felt more like myself than I have on this album. I found myself, and I finally found my voice," the singer, songwriter and guitarist Graham Colton says of the forthcoming CD, Here Right Now. Don't call it a simple return. Call it a metamorphosis, a deep progression, an inspired evolution or - perhaps most fitting - a rewarding exercise in self-actualization. Stepping into his own in order to connect to his heart and artistic vision, Graham Colton has emerged with a stunning collection of pop-rock melodies, lyrics and emotions in 12 tracks that swing between love and heartbreak, trials and relief. Singer/songwriter/actress Celeste Kellogg started performing at the age of 6 in her church choir. At age 12, Celeste found herself performing with the Radio Disney Tween Pop Group "RD7" While with Radio Disney, Celeste opened for the Jonas Brothers, Raven and performed hour long shows at The Kelly Clarkson "Addicted to Love Tour" Cheetah Girls, and Miley Cyrus concerts. In November of 2009 Celeste was asked to audition for the part of Lindsey in "Lindsey's Way" by Director Greg Robbins of Uplifting Entertainment. Upon receiving the part she traveled to Pittsburgh and film the pilot. Look for the show to air sometime in 2011. Celeste felt honored when the show decided to use her original songs. She along with Andrew Lane also wrote the theme song for "Lindsey's Way."
