In this urgent conversation, Pat Kahnke and international Christian leader Tihomir Kukolja confront the dangerous rise of court prophets—religious leaders who align themselves with political power rather than the truth of the gospel. Franklin Graham is the focus of this episode, not as an isolated figure, but as a powerful example of how faith can be co-opted to serve authoritarian politics.

It's Thursday, January 15th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark North Korea, Somalia, Yemen, & Sudan top 4 persecuting countries Open Doors released its 2026 World Watch List yesterday. The report ranks the top 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. Once again, North Korea is ranked the worst country for persecution followed by Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, and Eritrea. The remaining top 10 countries are Syria, Nigeria, Pakistan, Libya, and Iran. One out of seven Christians are persecuted worldwide. Between October 2024 and September 2025, the report documented that 4,849 Christians were killed for their faith. Over 90% of the killings occurred in sub-Saharan Africa, especially Nigeria.  Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.” 2,000 Iranian protestors killed by Islamic regime Millions of Iranians have been protesting against the country's Islamic regime since December 28. Activists report that 2,000 people have been killed as the regime has cracked down on protestors.  Listen to comments from U.S. President Donald Trump. TRUMP: “To all Iranian patriots, keep protesting, take over your institutions, if possible. … I've cancelled all meetings with the Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters stops. And all I say to them is ‘Help is on its way!' You saw that I put tariffs on anybody doing business with Iran. Just went into effect today.” During this unrest, please pray for the underground church in Iran to remain strong and find opportunities to minister.  Pentagon moving carrier strike group toward Middle East amid Iran tension In a related story, the Pentagon is moving a carrier strike group from the South China Sea to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, which includes the Middle East, as tensions escalate between the Trump administration and Iran, reports NewsNation. Moving the carrier strike group — a naval formation centering around an aircraft carrier, with a variety of support from other vessels — is expected to take about a week. The significant transfer of American military hardware comes amid developments related to unrest in Iran and questions about whether the White House will offer support to opponents of Iran's autocratic, Islamicregime. Franklin Graham calls America to prayer and repentance In the Untied States, Evangelist Franklin Graham called for a time of prayer and repentance across the nation. The call came as “the streets of America boil over with hate, anger, crime, drugs, and just sheer hopelessness.” Listen to comments from Graham. GRAHAM: “I encourage people to pray. And first of all, we need to repent as a nation. We need to repent of our sins and turn from those sins. And we need to repent of our own sins, not just the nation's sins, but our personal sins, and ask God to forgive us.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Trump withdraws from 66 int'l groups, conventions, and treaties The Trump administration announced last Wednesday that the U.S. is withdrawing from 66 international organizations, conventions, and treaties. One of those organizations is the United Nations Population Fund, known for its support of abortion.  Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, said, “From DEI mandates to ‘gender equity' campaigns to climate orthodoxy, many international organizations now serve a globalist project. … These organizations actively seek to constrain American sovereignty.” State Department pauses immigrant visas from 75 countries Plus, the U.S. Department of State announced yesterday that it will pause immigrant visa processing from 75 countries.  Those nations include Somalia, Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, and Nigeria.  The State Department said migrants from these countries “take welfare from the American people at unacceptable rates.” U.S. overdose deaths fell New federal data shows U.S. overdose deaths fell last year. Overdose deaths involving opioids and now fentanyl have been on the rise since the 1990s. An estimated 73,000 people died from overdoses during the 12-month period ending in August 2025. That's down 21% from the previous 12-month period.  Researchers suggest this drop is connected with recent regulation changes in China. These changes decreased the availability of chemicals used to make fentanyl.    4,000 U.S. Protestant churches closed in 2024 Lifeway Research reports more Protestant churches closed in the U.S. than opened. Four thousand churches were closed in America in 2024. Meanwhile, only 3,800 churches were started. That's better than 2019 when there were only 3,000 openings and 4,500 closings. Openings have not outpaced closings since 2014 when there were 4,000 openings and 3,700 closings. Christian/Gospel music ranked among top 10 genres And finally, Luminate released its 2025 year-end music report. Christian and Gospel music ranked among the top 10 genres in the U.S. last year. Plus, Christian/Gospel was also one of the highest-growth genres in terms of on-demand audio streams. WINANS: “For Your mercy never fails me All my days, I've been held in Your hands From the moment that I wake up Until I lay my head Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God “'Cause all my life You have been faithful And all my life You have been so, so good With every breath that I am able Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God.” That was Cece Winans singing the “Goodness of God.” When it came to music released in the last 18 months, Christian/Gospel music saw the most growth in streams of any genre. Colossians 3:16 reminds us, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, January 15th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). What happens when a man decides an airplane cabin is the perfect place to hold church? This week, we discuss the now-viral moment of a passenger pulling out his guitar mid-flight to serenade a captive audience with praise songs. Some travelers joined in while everyone else stared ahead in silent fury. We talk about public space, consent, religious entitlement, and why "sharing the Good News" at 30,000 feet feels less like ministry and more like an in-flight nightmare. Also on the show: Franklin Graham preaching about God's love and God's hatred at a Christmas service hosted at the Pentagon; an Arizona lawmaker pushing to force "intelligent design" into public school science classes; the Catholic Archdiocese of New York selling off prime real estate to pay clergy abuse settlements after its insurer refuses coverage; an Anglican bishop cleared after allegedly mishandling multiple abuse cases; a self-styled prophet predicting a Christmas flood and building multiple arks to survive it; and a surprisingly hopeful look at how AI is helping scholars translate ancient religious texts—possibly demystifying scripture faster than ever before.

It's Tuesday, December 9th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigerian Muslims killed 48 Christians A wave of deadly attacks in the Southern Taraba State in Nigeria resulted in the deaths of 48 Christians and hundreds of homes were reduced to ashes. Religious leaders point to Muslim terrorists as freely killing, without any intervention from the Nigerian military. In an article by TruthNigeria.com, one resident said, “We made calls to the Nigerian military, but the personnel refused to pick up. Later, they switched off their phones.”  Shockingly, Nigeria's former Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor, recently confirmed in a news interview that certain Nigerian politicians have been financing terror in the country. Major Japanese earthquake Japan just experienced its most severe earthquake in 10 years, reports The Guardian.   According to The Independent, 23 people were injured. Yesterday's tremor hit the northern part of Honshu, registering 7.6 on the Richter scale. Japanese economy struggling Japan's economy is also taking a hit — a 2.3% annualized decline in its Gross National Product last quarter. This would be Japan's first recessionary trend since 2020. The nation's new Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, promises more government spending with a $110 billion stimulus package to fix the problem. Japanese elderly dying without known relatives Increasingly, Japan's elderly are dying without any known relatives or family relationships. This is measured by unclaimed inheritances.   Disturbingly, about $1 billion of unclaimed assets from elderly men and women, who have passed away, reverted to the Japanese federal treasury in 2024, reports The Japan Times.  That's four times the amount in 2013.  Above all, Japan needs the Gospel.  In the words of Ephesians 2:11-12,  “Remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh … were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.” Cambodia and Thailand back at war As of yesterday morning, Cambodia is back at war with Thailand, following a Trump-brokered peace agreement, reports Nation of Thailand. Thailand's air force is targeting Cambodia's military operations. Russia-Ukrainian peace plan  delayed again There remains a disconnect between the United States and Europe on the Ukraine war resolution.   Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer yesterday and clarified that there was still no deal on the U.S. proposal of land swaps in Russia's favor.  China controls First World countries by lending money Now, the Chinese government has set out to control nations by loans and grants — all of which have strings attached.  That's the essence of a report from AidData.org.   Chinese loan commitments are extending into First World countries, of which the United States tops the list — followed by Australia, Russia, Venezuela, Pakistan, Angola, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Chinese state-owned lenders have opened up about $1 trillion of credit to high-income countries, with the United States leading the pack as the largest debtor to China. According to the report, “China remains the world's largest official creditor, lending approximately $140 billion to public sector and private sector borrowers around the globe in 2023.”   Proverbs 22:7 warns, “The debtors are servants to the lenders.” Trump cut $600 million from “family planning” groups The Trump administration cut $600 million this year from various international groups' family planning budgets.   This cut was quickly compensated for by the Gates Foundation, which recently announced another $2.5 billion to the program.  30-somethings are 10% less likely to own a home A new report finds that 30-somethings here in the United States are drawn to risky investments like Bitcoin, but less likely to buy homes. The report projected that young folks, born in the 1990s, would have a home ownership rate that will be 10% lower, upon their retirement, than their parents' generation.  Home affordability is affecting the younger buyers. Samaritan's Purse sending 12 million children Christmas gifts And finally, Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child is well under way toward collecting 12 million shoe boxes containing toys, necessities, and the Gospel message for children in 100 countries around the world.  That's up from 9 million shoe boxes filled in 2020. A vision inspired by Franklin Graham, Operation Christmas Child got started in 1993, when the organization distributed 28,000 shoe box gifts to children in the Balkans in southeastern Europe. Since then, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 232 million gift-filled shoe boxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories. For late comers, there are 8 processing centers still open around the country to receive the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes -- in Denver, Dallas, Atlanta, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Jesus redefined God as "Father," inviting us to engage with faith, justice, and the church's role in society. This episode explores how the concept of "Father" in the Lord's Prayer shifts from an ancient patriarchal lens to a radical, relational, and restorative vision of God. Through powerful storytelling, the hosts unpack Jesus' redefinition of "Father" as a term of intimacy, love, and belonging—challenging cultural hierarchies and calling the church to embody cruciformity in community. Dive into nuanced discussions about Christianity, faith, and theology while reflecting on the intersection of cultural issues, justice, and the teachings of Jesus. Together, the hosts wrestle with navigating cultural challenges, addressing Christian nationalism, and envisioning a faith that uplifts rather than marginalizes. The Ohio Attorney General says Lamb's House hasn't served any charitable purpose since at least 2017. We'll have details. Plus, with a growing number of children being diagnosed with autism, churches are developing strategies to make their families more comfortable—and their spaces more accommodating. We'll take a look. And, when donors give their money to special programs, they usually expect all their money to be used accordingly. But how much is actually used for overhead costs? But first, Samaritan's Purse is set to play a larger role in Gaza aid distribution as the embattled Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is being phased out. The Rev. Franklin Graham confirmed Oct. 25 that Samaritan's Purse, the international humanitarian relief organization he heads, is ramping up its role in delivering aid to Gaza. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Indian authorities arrest 3 Christians for outreach to Hindus Last week, authorities in northern India arrested three Christians, including a pastor, for conducting an evangelistic outreach to Hindus. The arrests were made in the state of Uttar Pradesh under its anti-conversion law. This comes just days after India's top court criticized the state's use of the law to target Christians.  Such anti-conversions laws are used throughout India to persecute Christians. Believers face the harshest treatment in Uttar Pradesh.  India is ranked 11th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian.  Trump oversaw Cambodia-Thailand Peace Deal U.S. President Donald Trump is visiting countries in Asia this week. On Sunday, he oversaw the signing of a peace agreement between Cambodia and Thailand. He also signed trade deals with both countries as well as Malaysia.  Listen to comments from President Trump on that Cambodia-Thailand peace deal.  TRUMP: “Today's signing represents just one of eight conflicts that we've ended in eight months of the Trump presidency. I'm very honored to have done it. We saved millions of lives. “I'm here in a mission of friendship and goodwill and to deepen our ties and commerce, to strengthen our common security, and to really promote strongly, stability, prosperity and peace for all of the countries in this room and long beyond this room.” Yesterday, President Trump visited Japan, signing a trade deal with their newly elected Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. The president also plans on meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea today.  Samaritan's Purse airlifted 100,000 pounds of food/supplies to Gaza Samaritan's Purse airlifted over 100,000 pounds of food and relief supplies for families in Gaza on Saturday.  This marks the 13th flight to the Middle East by the international Christian relief organization. The latest airlift includes 290,000 food packets, 12,000 blankets, and 12,000 solar lights.  Listen to comments from Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan's Purse.  GRAHAM: “This has been a terrible war that's taken place, but Samaritan's Purse is going and we're going to go in Jesus' name. We've been helping the people in Israel. We've been helping the people in Gaza, and we're going to continue to help.” Hebrews 13:16 says, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Yelp spanked for vilifying pro-life pregnancy centers In the United States, a federal appeals court ruled against Yelp, Inc. in a pro-life case. Yelp operates a platform that connects people with local businesses. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the company for placing misleading information on listings for pro-life pregnancy centers.  In a press release, Paxton said, “Yelp tried to play politics and steer users away from pro-life resources, but being based in the criminal-loving state of California will not shield them from accountability. I will continue to defend pro-life organizations that serve Texans and make sure that women and families are receiving accurate information about our state's resources.” Pew Research: 59% of Americans like influence of religion on society Pew Research reports a sharp rise in the share of U.S. adults who say religion is gaining influence in American life over the last year. The study also shows that more Americans express a positive view of religion's role in society.  The survey found 59% of U.S. adults say religion has a good influence on American life, up from 49% in 2022. Twenty percent have a negative view of religion's influence, down from 26% in 2022. And 21% have a neutral or unclear view of religion's influence, down from 25% in 2022. Fifty-eight percent of Americans also believe their religious views are at odds with mainstream culture, up from 42% in 2020. It saw over 80,000 downloads in the first week. Now, YouVersion is available in thousands of languages and has been downloaded hundreds of millions of times around the world.  YouVersion is celebrating the power of the Bible next month with a 30-day Bible reading challenge. Bobby Gruenewald, the founder and CEO of YouVersion, stated, “We're seeing incredible global momentum around Bible engagement . . . Every day we hear stories of lives being changed—someone overcoming addiction, marriages being restored, and people encountering Scripture in their own language for the first time. This milestone is really a celebration of the Bible itself.” In Isaiah 45:22-23, God said, “Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the Earth! For I am God, and there is no other. Steve shares exciting details about the upcoming "Sunshine State Good News Tour," led by Will Graham, the grandson of the renowned Billy Graham. This conversation explores the continuation of a powerful family legacy and the vital importance of sharing the gospel today. Main Points from the Discussion: -- The tour is called the "Sunshine State Good News Tour" and will make four stops across Florida, beginning in Tallahassee. -- The message is the same as Billy Graham's: a clear, unswerving focus on the gospel of Jesus Christ and the hope it offers. -- The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse ministry work together to bring help and hope "in the name of Jesus." -- The tour events are designed to be family-friendly festivals with great music, and all are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. -- The true mission of these events is not just for the Grahams to preach but to equip and encourage local Christians to invite their lost friends, neighbors, and family members. -- Churches are reminded not to lose sight of their "true north"—the cross of Jesus Christ—by getting distracted by political or cultural issues. -- A lack of hunger for God and a desire to be in His presence is like an illness, and the solution is to humbly ask God to restore our passion and first love. ******* This is the radio program with the music removed. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Spanish priest acquitted on hate crime charges for criticizing radical Islam A Spanish Catholic priest who was facing three years in prison for making critical remarks about radical Islam nearly a decade ago has been acquitted, reports The Christian Post. The advocacy organization Abogados Cristianos announced in an X post last Friday that “The Malaga Court [acquitted] Pastor Custodio [Ballester], prosecuted for criticizing Islam: there is no hate crime.” In 2016, Ballester was charged with saying, “Islam does not allow for dialogue. You either believe or you are an infidel who must be subdued one way or another.” The Rev. Franklin Graham praised Ballester's acquittal as “good news” in an X post on Monday.  A report published last month by the Spanish Observatory for Religious Freedom and Conscience found that 69% of the attacks were directed at Christians, while instances of antisemitism grew by 38% compared to 2023 and had increased by 867% since 2022. Senator Schumer's shutdown flip flop, afraid of an AOC challenge Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Minority Leader of the U.S. Senate, has historically opposed government shutdowns. He opposed a shutdown on October 16, 2013. SCHUMER: “What if I persuaded my caucus to say I'm going to shut the government down. I'm going to not pay our bills unless I get my way. It's a politics of idiocy, of confrontation, of paralysis.” Then, Senator Schumer opposed a government shutdown on January 25, 2019. SCHUMER: “Shutting down government over a policy difference is self-defeating. We can never hold American workers hostage again.” And, as recently as March 13th of this year, Senator Schumer opposed a government shutdown then. SCHUMER:  “While the [Continuing Resolution] bill is very bad, the potential for a shutdown has consequences for America that are much, much worse. Therefore, I will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down.” But now, Democratic Senator Schumer is leading the fight for the government shutdown, driven by the AOC/Sanders wing of his party. Listen to CNN's John Berman's introduction of his recent appearance. BERMAN: “Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who joins us now from Capitol Hill. Senator, I was saying that every Republican who's gone on TV the last, what nine hours or so, has called this the ‘Schumer Shutdown.” Later, Berman said this. BERMAN: “Everyone in Congress right now, on the Republican side, is really pointing the finger squarely at you personally. And one of the things they're saying is, this is about politics in New York, that you might face a primary from Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.” In fact, Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana said as much. KENNEDY: “Senator Schumer, his relationship with the truth is very casual. The truth is that this is a political shutdown. Senator Schumer is nervous as a pregnant nun about losing his re-election to the socialist wing of his party led by Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, which is in control. “Now, we will eventually come out of this shutdown. Here's how I think it will happen. Senator Schumer is a smart man. He's been around a long time. His first car was a chariot. Washington is all he's ever known his entire life. He knows he's on shaky ground here in terms of policy. “So, here's how I think it'll end. Schumer will go to six or eight of his colleagues, Democrats of course, and say, ‘I want you to vote to lift the shutdown.' He'll say, ‘I can't vote with you. I've got to appear to be tough. I may even have to criticize you, but' -- wink wink, nod nod – ‘I'm trying to make the loon wing of the party love me, but you bail me out here.' But he's got to be careful with that, because he doesn't want it to look like a mutiny, because then he looks even weaker.” CA teacher to ICE: “They are not the only ones with guns in this city.” The Department of Homeland Security will refer a California teacher for a possible criminal probe after he made threatening comments toward immigration officials, reports WorldNetDaily.com. Listen to Los Angeles Unified School District history teacher Ron Gochez. GOCHEZ: “Don't forget where you're standing. This is South Central Los Angeles. They are not the only ones with guns in this city. They're not the only ones that don't forget that. And I don't say that because we're calling it for violence. I'm saying that because the people have every right to defend themselves against masked, unidentified gunmen with AR-15s and other military rifles.” Gochez founded the Los Angeles chapter of Union del Barrio—a revolutionary socialist movement that demands an end to capitalism and open borders from Alaska to Chile. The group sees communist dictators like Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and Che Guevara as heroes. DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said that the teacher's comments endanger ICE agents' lives. New Bible story book injects sexual perversion, gender confusion, and woke ideology And finally, a new children's book of Bible stories claims that the Bible has "made-up" stories and events in its pages, drawing criticism from Focus on the Family, reports The Christian Post. The Just Love Story Bible, authored by Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis and Rev. Dr. Shannon Harris, reimagines 52 stories from the Old and New Testaments, weaving in sexual perversion, gender confusion, and woke ideology. For them, the Bible is not authoritative; they are. In the book's introduction to Genesis, the woke authors, who are part of the leftist Presbyterian Church (USA), write, "Some of the stories had made-up characters and events. Others were about real people and things that really happened." Harris, an associate dean at Auburn Theological Seminary in New York City, explained her motivation behind the project at a Q&A event for the book in September. HARRIS: “I wanted to do this project with Jackie, because when my kids were little, it was really hard to find a children's Bible that I didn't feel like I had to change some of the words. Like there might be stories that talked about God, like God was a boy (laughing) and only used kind of male language for God. Or they might tell a story, but they wouldn't tell enough about the story to understand whether it was about a made-up character or a real person.” Later, to the audience of parents and young children, she read an excerpt from her woke Just Love Story Bible in which she reinterpreted the plagues and other punishments that God had sent to get Pharoah's attention or the attention of His chosen people, the Jews. HARRIS: “Four natural disasters, one after the other. Well, the prophet and the people thought they were to blame. They thought that the disasters were God's way of punishing them. They didn't know that when bad things happen, like swarms of bugs, floods, earthquakes or tornadoes, it's not God's punishment, but it's easy to worry when bad things happen, to feel like God's angry at you, even when that's not true.” Inspired by the Joel 2:28 passage, Harris also imagined what a young person might envision. HARRIS: “So what did the young people prophesy back then? Perhaps one of them bravely announced to the prophets, priests and people: ‘I don't believe that our loving God sends terrible things to teach us a lesson.'” In an op-ed published by Focus on the Family's news arm, Daily Citizen, Paul Batura warned families about The Just Love Story Bible. He said, "[T]he motives of the authors appear broader and far more dangerous than merely trumpeting diversity. They also want to sow seeds of doubt in children's minds that the events depicted in the Bible are literally true, including the Resurrection.” He added, "Questioning the accuracy and authority of the Bible is hardly a new exercise, but so blatantly and openly selling such a heretical interpretation of God's Word to children undermines God's sacred Word in a particularly dangerous and destructive way." Indeed, 2 Timothy 4:3-4 says, “For a time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths."  Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, October 24th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). In the wake of national tragedy, God has ensured the Gospel will continue to go forward—using Charlie Kirk's assassination as a catalyst for renewal. Earlier this month, my dad—Franklin Graham—challenged those gathered at the annual Samaritan's Purse Prescription for Renewal Conference to boldly preach the Gospel, just as Charlie did. Today on Fearless we're bringing you his full talk from the medical missions conference—an encouragement for believers to be bold in standing for the Gospel during these pivotal times. My dad opened his message by highlighting Secretary of State Marco Rubio's call to salvation for all those gathered at (and the millions watching online) Charlie Kirk's memorial a few weeks ago. Senator Rubio's willingness to be so bold in his faith was incredible to watch, and should embolden us to do the same. My dad also shared pieces of his own testimony, plus stories working in the field with Samaritan's Purse—from our COVID-19 response in New York City to preparing to enter Gaza with lifesaving aid. Through it all, his message is clear: We no longer have a choice when it comes to proclaiming Jesus as Savior—now is the time to fearlessly preach what we believe, to everyone we meet.

In October of 1948, Billy Graham and his ministry team — Cliff Barrows, George Beverly Shea and Grady Wilson — held evangelistic meetings in Modesto, Calif. These men gathered in their spare time to write what Barrows came to call the “Modesto Manifesto.” That document outlined the standards they would follow regarding “financial integrity, sexual morality, publicity, and partnership with the local church.” However, the organizations led by Billy Graham's son Franklin recently withdrew from the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) because they did not want the ECFA to act as “moral police” for the evangelical world. In today's Extra episode, Warren Smith explains why this is a bad idea. To read a transcript of today's episode, click here. The producer for today's program is Jeff McIntosh. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark The martyrdom of 1,624 Christians A Vatican commission has documented the stories of 1,624 Christians who died for their faith over the past 25 years. The stories cover Christians from all denominations. Of the cases, 643 were in Sub-Saharan Africa, 357 in Asia and Oceania, 304 in the Americas, 277 in the Middle East and the Maghreb, and 43 in Europe.  Archbishop Fabio Fabene is the head of the commission. He noted that “Martyrdom has existed in every age of the Church, but perhaps now more than in the past, many surrender their lives in order not to betray the message of Christ.” Typhoon prompts 2 million Chinese to evacuate Typhoon Ragasa made landfall in China yesterday.  Nearly two million people evacuated southern China ahead of the storm. The typhoon is equivalent to a Category 5 hurricane, making it the world's most powerful storm this year.  The typhoon left a path of destruction in the Philippines and Hong Kong and killed at least 17 people in Taiwan.  Oracle to buy Chinese-owned TikTok to allay security concerns Speaking of China, officials from the country reached an agreement with leaders from the United States last week about the Chinese-owned app TikTok. According to the deal, the tech company Oracle will lead a U.S.-backed acquisition of TikTok's assets in America. This is part of the Trump administration's efforts to address national security concerns of China's control over TikTok.    Listen to comments from U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. GREER: “We were very focused on Tiktok and making sure that it was a deal that is fair from the Chinese and completely respects US national security concerns. And that's the deal we reached.” False prophet had predicted end of the world by September 24th Meanwhile on TikTok, claims that the rapture was supposed to have occurred in the last two days went viral this week. The reactions came in response to a video from a South African man named Joshua Mhlakela. He claimed to have a vision that Jesus would return on the 23rd or 24th of September.  I guess he was wrong! The hashtag #rapturenow on TikTok has hundreds of thousands of videos. In the wake of the false predictions, Rev. Franklin Graham called people to turn to Christ, not panic. He wrote on Facebook, “There's no question, Jesus Christ will return—but we don't know when. Jesus Himself tells us, ‘But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of Heaven, but My Father only' (Matthew 24:36)”  Graham concluded, “Surrender your life to Him—this is the preparation that will count.” Chicago dropped charges against 3 street preachers The American Center for Law and Justice announced that a court in Chicago dropped charges against three street preachers this month.  In the case, police arrested three young men for peacefully preaching the Gospel near Chicago's Millennium Park. After six months of court battles, the judge recently dismissed the case.  The ACLJ wrote on Facebook, “Far-Left cities are arresting preachers for sharing the Gospel. We just filed a brief at the U.S. Supreme Court to defend their religious liberty. Help stop the far Left's attack on preachers. Sign our petition.”  You can sign that petition through a link in our transcript today at TheWorldview.com.  Texas law prohibits manufacture or distribution of abortion kill pill Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed the Woman and Child Protection Act into law last Wednesday.  The law makes it illegal to manufacture or distribute abortion-inducing drugs in the Lone Star State. It also bans mailing such drugs to or from any person or location in the state. The chemical abortion business has surged after many states passed anti-abortion laws. For example, ever since Texas protected babies in the womb after six weeks gestation, it has seen nearly 20,000 abortion kill pills mailed into the state annually. Most Americans believe we're born without sin nature And finally, Lifeway Research and Ligonier Ministries released their latest State of Theology study. A majority of U.S. adults strongly embraced ideas like the Trinity, God's perfection and unchangeableness, and marriage as the union of one man and one woman.  However, a majority of Americans also strongly agreed that everyone is born innocent in the eyes of God and strongly disagreed that even the smallest sin deserves eternal damnation.  Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research, noted, “When a clear majority of Americans think God is flexible when it comes to religion, it's not surprising that agreement with some teachings in the Bible does not translate to accepting all biblical teaching. Americans want the same flexibility they think God has, even if that contradicts other beliefs they have and how God is revealed in Scripture.” James 1:17 reminds us, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, September 25th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). DOJ Investigates Realtor Blacklisting: A Virginia Free Speech Showdown

Free Speech and Free Association are the essence of the United States, and both fell under the jackboots of politically weaponized “wokeness” here in Virginia when a realtor decided he wanted to run for city council of Staunton. What happened next reads like the script for a Daniel Craig movie as agents for his opponents found a social media post from years before in which he reposted a Biblical passage, Leviticus 20:13, that had been shared with him by Franklin Graham.  Not only was the passage used to rally opposition to his run for public office, after that election was completed they shared the passage with his business association, the National Association of Realtors in an effort to have him expelled from the organization and prohibiting him access to the real estate listings he would use to help his clients find a home. Two weeks ago the National and Virginia Association of Realtors reversed their original determination against Mr. Fauber and changed their code of ethics to only regulate speech used during a realtor conducting of real estate business. Then, on Tuesday HJuly 29th Mr Fauber's legal team from the Founding Freedoms Law Center, a division of Virginia's Family Foundation, announced that the Department of Justice had opened an investigation into the Conduct of both organizations. We sit down with Mychael Sylvester, on e of Mr. Fauber's lawyer from the Founding Freedoms Law Center to catch up of this attempt to ruin a person's life simply because you disagree with them. It's Thursday, August 7th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Pakistani Christian died after years of neglect in prison International Christian Concern reports that a 25-year-old Christian man in Pakistan died last Thursday after years of neglect in prison. When he was 16, Nabeel Masih was accused of posting an image on Facebook, allegedly insulting an Islamic holy site. Police deleted the post, erasing any evidence of what he actually posted. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, becoming the youngest person convicted of blasphemy against Islam in the country.  Pakistan's Supreme Court granted Masih bail in 2020. However, he had already suffered years of neglect, abuse, and lack of medical care, leading to his recent death. Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” Billy Graham Association helping defend European Christians The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is extending its legal defense fund to Christians across Europe. Evangelist Franklin Graham started the fund for defending religious freedom in the United Kingdom. This came after he won multiple lawsuits against British venues that cancelled their events. The fund has grown to $1.3 million. Franklin Graham told Fox News Digital, “We took the damages that we won through BGEA's court cases in the U.K., and put those funds into the Billy Graham Defense Fund — a new ‘war chest' to help other Christians in Europe who are threatened or intimidated into silence and not expressing their faith.” Army Sergeant shot 5 co-workers on Georgia Army base Bad news from a U.S. Army base in Georgia. LUBAS: “An active duty soldier assigned to Fort Stewart, Georgia, shot and wounded five of his fellow soldiers here on Fort Stewart. Thankfully, all are in stable condition and all are expected to recover.” That was Brigadier General John Lubas on Wednesday afternoon. The soldier shooter has been identified as Army Sergeant Quornelius Radford, reports The U.S. Sun. Radford, age 28, is in custody after he allegedly opened fire at his workplace at the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team area just before 11:00 am. The base was briefly locked down. Police said they have not learned more about his motive. Here's the good news. LUBAS: “I would also like to thank the brave soldiers who immediately intervened and subdued the shooter. These soldiers, without a doubt, prevented further casualties.” Planned Parenthood closes only two abortion mills in Louisiana Planned Parenthood is closing its only two locations in Louisiana.  The abortion giant operated in the state for 40 years previously.  Ben Clapper, the executive director of Louisiana Right to Life, told LifeNews, “Effective September 30th, Planned Parenthood will close both its New Orleans and Baton Rouge facilities. What a powerful victory for life. … To each of you who have prayed, volunteered, given, and stood with us—thank you!” With the two closures, Planned Parenthood has closed a total of 40 abortion mills this year. U.S. Health Dept cancels $500 million of mRNA vaccine projects The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Tuesday that it is cancelling $500 million worth of mRNA vaccine development projects. The department said it will focus instead on “platforms with stronger safety records and transparent clinical and manufacturing data practices.” Listen to comments from HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. KENNEDY: “Most of these shots are for flu or COVID, but as the pandemic showed us, mRNA vaccines don't perform well against viruses that infect the upper respiratory tract. … “After reviewing the science and consulting top experts at NIH and FDA, HHS has determined that mRNA technology poses more risk than benefits for these respiratory viruses.” 28% of school boards referenced DEI in second quarter The school tracking website Burbio reports that the prevalence of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion terms in district school board meetings is down. The Trump administration has prohibited federal funding to recipients that engage in unlawful discrimination practices. This includes DEI programs. During the second quarter of this year, only 28% of school boards referenced such DEI terms, down from 38% last year. Gunman opened fire at a Seattle church event And finally, an unidentified gunman opened fire on a church event in Seattle last Thursday, July 31st.  Tragically, he killed 28-year-old LeBron Givaun near the steps of the church as he arrived with his family at the young adult service at Pursuit Church. He had just gotten married a week earlier and had converted to Christianity just this year. A GoFundMe campaign for LeBron's family has already raised over $70,000. The unidentified suspect reportedly shot the victim in the chest before fleeing the scene in a white Hyundai Elantra with black wheels and a damaged passenger window, reports The Daily. It's not the first time the church has faced attacks. Rioters assaulted church members at a worship event earlier this year.  Listen to comments from Russell Johnson, the pastor of Pursuit Church. JOHNSON: “The thugs who committed this crime were trying to send a message: no church is safe, no house of worship is sacred. The enemy would love for us to back down and hide, but that is simply not who we are. “And although the blood of LeBron is still stained on the front steps of our building, I'm here today to tell you there is a blood that speaks a better word. And it is the precious blood of Jesus that covers us today and provides forgiveness, protection, blessing, and healing.” Revelation 12:11 says the church overcame the Devil “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, August 7th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Pakistani court acquitted two Christian teens of false blasphemy charges A court in Pakistan acquitted two Christians of false blasphemy charges against Islam on Tuesday.  Adil Babar and Simon Nadeem, 18 and 14 years old respectively, were charged and arrested in 2023. A court advocate for the Christian young men told Morning Star News, “There's a dire need to make procedural reforms in cases involving blasphemy to protect the victims, a majority of whom are declared innocent after years of court proceedings and imprisonment.” Sadly, these kind of false blasphemy charges are weaponized against Christians in the Muslim-majority country. Pakistan is ranked eighth on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult places to be a Christian.  Reformed pastors to call U.K. Parliament to repent over abortion, euthanasia laws A group of Reformed ministers are prepared to call the U.K. parliament to repent next Tuesday, July 15. Christian leaders with UK Gospel Witness plan to proclaim the Gospel and call the government to repentance. In particular, the organizers lament recent legislation on the Assisted Dying Law and New Abortion Law.  The event's Facebook page says, “It is our firm conviction that this is a time for God-fearing Christians to unite together and make a public stand and proclamation of Gospel truth in the face of such evil.” Lamentations 3:40-41 says, “Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the LORD; let us lift our hearts and hands to God in Heaven.” Samaritan's Purse deploying teams to flood-ravaged Texas In the United States, Christian ministries are deploying relief teams to central Texas in the wake of devastating flooding. Authorities confirmed 119 people have died from the flash floods, and at least 150 people are missing in Kerr County. Samaritan's Purse is sending disaster relief teams to the area. Rev. Franklin Graham, President of Samaritan's Purse, wrote on Facebook, “We need to continue to surround these devastated families and communities in prayer.” You can make an on-line donation through Samaritan's Purse through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.   Listen to the prayer for these hurting families from HUD Secretary Scott Turner during a White House Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. TURNER: “Father, we're humbled by Your grace. We're humbled by Your mercy. Lord God, we surrender to You. Jesus, You are the great Redeemer. “Lord God, we lift up the families that are mourning, that are grieving, those families that are hurting. Father God, we pray for a peace that surpasses all understanding and Lord Jesus, those that are still there, that are alive. “Father, we pray you will help us to find them Lord God and bring them back to their families. We love you. We honor you. In Jesus' name Amen.” Planned Parenthood closes Cleveland abortion mill Planned Parenthood is permanently closing one of its locations in Cleveland, Ohio. The abortion mill blamed funding cuts from the Trump administration, ending over a decade of its killing business. Cleveland Right to Life responded to the closure by “thanking God for the legislators who stood up to the most-evil organization of our time, Planned Parenthood.” China owns 265,000 acres of American farmland; Trump says, “No more!” The Trump administration announced its National Farm Security Action Plan on Tuesday. Specifically, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is banning foreign adversaries, including Chinese nationals, from buying American farmland.  An infographic from the White House shows that China already owns over 265,000 acres of U.S. farmland. Much of that land is located near U.S. military bases.  Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said, “We feed the world. We lead the world. And we'll never let foreign adversaries control our land, our labs, or our livelihoods.” Church discipline rarely practiced in Protestant churches And finally, new data from Lifeway Research shows church discipline is rarely practiced in Protestant churches. Fifty-four percent of pastors said their church has not formally disciplined a member since they became pastor or prior as far as they know. Nevertheless, about 80% of churches have policies for formal discipline.  Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research, said, “The infrequency of church discipline is not because church members aren't sinning. Church discipline typically occurs when a member is not repentant for a sin or is no longer qualified for a role because of sin.” Ephesians 5:11-13 says, “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, July 10th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. A 27-year-old woman, Artemis Ghasemzadeh,  told International Christian Concern that “If you're a Muslim and you convert to Christianity, it's a problem. The police want to catch you.” The Christians will continue searching for a country that will take them to avoid repatriation, imprisonment, and possibly death if they return to Iran. According to Open Doors, Iran is the ninth most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. Cuban prosecutors threatening pastor and wife with prison Cuban prosecutors are threatening eight years of imprisonment for a Christian pastor and his wife who mentioned God in a public trial. Pastor Luis Guillermo Borjas and  his wife, Roxana Rojas, of the Assemblies of God, were detained on May 19th for mentioning God's justice in a trial involving their son. The trial for the couple is scheduled for this week. Please keep Pastor Luis and his wife Roxana n your prayers. Open Doors reports that Cuba is the 26th most difficult country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Franklin Graham: We need evangelists who are unafraid and unapologetic A thousand delegates attended the European Congress on Evangelism in Berlin, Germany at the end of last month.   Fifty-nine years ago, Evangelist Billy Graham addressed the first European Congress on Evangelism in Berlin. BILLY GRAHAM: “The city of Berlin has influenced the world in every field. What a place from which to shout to the world: Christ is the Savior.” On May 30th, Evangelist Franklin Graham, his son, addressed the conference as well. FRANKLIN GRAHAM: “The Gospel has power. We're going to reach Europe. We need an army -- an army of evangelists -- unafraid, unashamed, unapologetic, uncompromising.” In his closing remarks, Graham spoke of the opposition he received in England recently. He said, “When we were losing our contracts in the U.K., it was coming from the LGBT+ community. They were the ones opposing us, who have the rainbow flags, which I see as the flags for the anti-Christ. And they wanted to have victory. Well, God gave us victory! … This is the group coming after us. … “So, don't compromise, and be strong. Fulfill your ministry. We know there's going to be suffering and challenges, some fights, but let's be strong. We go in the power of the name of Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.” Conservative Columbian presidential candidate shot in head The conservative candidate for President in Columbia, Miguel Turbay, was shot three times on Saturday, twice in the head. The 39-year-old senator remains in serious condition in a Bogota hospital.  U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “We stand in prayer with Miguel's family, loved ones, and his supporters. Those responsible for this attack must face justice.” Lenin statue toppled in Kyrgyzstan The legacy of atheist tyrants does not last forever. Kyrgyzstan is removing a 75-foot-tall monument of Vladimir Lenin in the city of Osh.   Photos showing Lenin's statue face down on the ground were made public over the weekend. This comes as Moscow has just installed a large monument to the communist  dictator Joseph Stalin in a city subway. Keep in mind Psalm 49:12-13, 16. It says, “Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish. This is the path of those who have foolish confidence; yet after them people approve of their boasts.  …  Be not afraid when a man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases. For when he dies, he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him.” (ESV) CA protestors clash with ICE over illegals; Trump send 2,000 troops California protestors who are at odds with the Trump administration's policy on arresting illegal immigrants have taken to the streets, creating mayhem in major cities, reports The EpochTimes.com. Police arrested 150 protesters in San Francisco, and about 60 in Los Angeles over the weekend. The riots started with protestors attempting to thwart Immigration and Custom Enforcement's arrests in Los Angeles on Friday. President Trump has deployed 2,000 National Guard troops.  California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom is calling for a withdrawal. Plus, California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a court order attempting to gain a restraining order on the deployment.  Silver hits an all-time high Silver has hit a 13-year high — topping out around $36.70 per ounce on Monday. Gold is still hovering around $3,330 per ounce. The gold to silver ratio is still about the highest it has been in history — right around 90:1. The ratio has averaged around 65:1 since the year 2000. Historically, prior to the 1920s,  the ratio was about 20:1.  Michael Tait of Christian band Newsboys confesses to sexual sin The Contemporary Christian Music band, Newsboys, revealed over the weekend that lead singer, Michael Tait confessed to having been leading a “double life.”   This comes after a lengthy investigative report was released from the Julie Roys organization, alleging drug abuse and the sin of homosexual behavior on the part of the lead singer. The report included multiple testimonies of scandalous behavior dating back as far as 2005. Michael Tait was a founding member of dc Talk, another big Christian Contemporary band from the 1990s. The two bands won 20 Dove Awards and four Grammys combined.   The Newsboys group was featured in the films God's Not Dead, God's Not Dead 2, and God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness. Actor Tim Allen reading through whole Bible Tim Allen, known for his role in the sitcom Home Improvement, is reading through the whole Bible. He posted on X that since beginning the challenge last year, he's finished reading the whole Old Testament. He called the read a “humbling overwhelming experience.” And, he said, “What a treasure!” Allen just posted that he is in the book of Romans. He announced last year that this would be the first time he has ever read the Bible.  Psalm 19:8, 10-11 says, “The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover, by them, Your servant is warned. And in keeping them, there is great reward.” See The American Miracle movie tonight Last night, I brought my family to see The American Miracle docudrama in San Antonio, Texas. It's in 1,000 theaters through Wednesday, June 11th.  We loved it.  It was inspirational to learn about God's providential intervention in human history to enable America to win the War for Independence against seemingly insurmountable odds. We especially enjoyed hearing a portion of Daniel Webster's speech given on July 4, 1826, on the 50th anniversary of the birth of America  and the deaths that day of Thomas Jefferson, age 83,  and John Adams, age 90.  TAYLOR:  “My name is James Arnold Taylor. I played Daniel Webster in The American Miracle. The most powerful thing is the power of Providence on this country that we have forgotten. I can't wait for everybody to be blessed by this film and to know that we're here for a purpose and that God has a plan.” The people who have seen the film, including this homeschool mom, have raved. HOMESCHOOL MOM: “I was very inspired by this film. I'm just a home school mama who just finished 25 years of homeschooling my three kids.  And as I was watching this film, I thought, ‘I've poured into my kids. Now, I wish so many other people could hear this story.' This message could go out to so many kids who don't have the privilege of homeschooling.” MOM #2: “This movie will help you equip your children to understand the true history of America.” Go to www.AmericanMiracleMovie.com, watch the trailer, click on the Tickets tab, type in your zipcode, and purchase tickets for tonight or Wednesday night since it's only in the theaters for a total of three days. 21 Worldview listeners gave $2,439.20 to fund our annual budget And finally, toward our midpoint goal of $61,750 to fund half of The Worldview newscast's annual budget by this Friday, June 13th, 21 listeners stepped up to the plate.  We surpassed our 20-donor goal by one donor. Shortly afterward on April 3, masked men stabbed David to death.  One person who heard his preaching before he died told Morning Star News, “On the third day the attendance increased in number, and he demanded a response of putting sin to death in their lives, to kill sin and identify themselves with Christ and against Satan, and their voices lifted to Heaven in song.” In Matthew 16:25, Jesus said, “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Thousands joined Ireland's March for Life Thousands of people joined the March for Life in Dublin, Ireland on Monday. (You can watch the 44-minute rally here). The number of recorded abortions in Ireland rose from over 2,800 in 2018 to over 10,000 in 2023. Newly elected Irish Senator Sarah O'Reilly spoke up for the little ones and for the women who are being sold abortion. O'REILLY: “Every life matters. Women deserve better than abortion. We are here because we know Ireland can be a place where compassion and courage walk hand in hand. Our soaring abortion numbers reveal a tragedy that cannot and must not be ignored any longer.” Senator O'Reilly also addressed the need for conscience protections for pro-life doctors and nurses in Ireland, so that they will not be coerced into participating in surgical and chemical abortions. O'REILLY: “In addition to the terrible loss of life from the abortions that will take place, there are not sufficient freedom of conscience protections in place for doctors and other healthcare workers who don't want to facilitate abortions. The lack of transparency surrounding what is happening under the abortion law is allowing coercive abortion practices to operate freely. “Some of you will be aware of the horrific story involving a minor in care who was locked in a room and forced to take an abortion pill. Something is clearly not right in our country when a story like this is relegated to the ‘news in brief' section of a daily newspaper and completely ignored by all the other media outlets.” And Senator O'Reilly referenced the deadly demise of Irish babies with Down Syndrome. O'REILLY: “Up to 95% of unborn babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome at the hospital now end up being aborted. When that announcement was made, there was no outrage, no expressions of remorse by the architects of Ireland's new abortion regime.” Trump's new religious liberty commission In the United States, President Donald Trump established a religious liberty commission by Executive Order last Thursday. The commission consists of 14 members, including evangelist Franklin Graham, Dr. Ben Carson, Christian writer and talk show host Eric Metaxas, and First Liberty Institute President Kelly Shackelford.  Trump directed the commission to evaluate threats to religious liberty. Specifically, he wants the commission to address the challenges to the First Amendment rights of pastors, attacks across America on houses of worship, the debanking of religious entities, and challenges to parental authority to direct the education of their children, including the right to choose a religious education. Listen to comments made by Texas Republican Lieutenant Gov. Dan Patrick. PATRICK: “We were a nation birthed by prayer, founded on the Judeo-Christian ethic to ensure that people could worship as they wished without interference from government. But that is no longer the case. “The last administration attacked people of faith for four years. There's a saying that ‘No one should get between a doctor and a patient.' I think we would say, ‘No one should get between God and a believer. (applause) No one should get between God and those seeking Him.” Supreme Court allows Trump ban on transgender soldiers In a 6-3 vote on Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme allowed the Trump administration to implement a ban on transgender troops.  At issue is an Executive Order from Trump which stated, “A man's assertion that he is a woman, and his requirement that others honor this falsehood, is not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member.” The Supreme Court's decision could lead to the discharge of thousands of military personnel.  177,000 jobs added in April; Unemployment at 4.2% American job growth was stronger than expected last month. The U.S economy added 177,000 jobs in April. The unemployment rate remained low at 4.2%. Seema Shah, chief global strategist at Principal Asset Management, noted, “We can push recession concerns to another month. Job numbers remain very strong, suggesting there was an impressive degree of resilience in the economy in play before the tariff shock.”  Trump considers 100% tariff on foreign movies Speaking of tariffs, President Trump announced a potential 100% tariff on foreign movies on Sunday.  The tax could apply to films produced abroad and sent into the U.S. Trump said, “We want movies made in America, again!” Only 66% of Americans identify as Christian today And finally, Christian pollster George Barna released his latest report on the American worldview. The study found 66% of U.S. adults describe Christianity as their faith, down from 72% in 2020. Meanwhile, non-Christian faiths have grown significantly. Buddhism has grown 56%; Judaism by 21%; and Islam by 12%. And people who identify as having no faith grew 10%, outnumbering Catholics now.   Furthermore, only 18% of adults consistently rely upon the Bible to discern moral and spiritual truth. Isaiah 55:6-7 says, “Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, May 7th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. ARE MODERN SERMONS MISSING THE TRUE MESSAGE OF EASTER? HERE'S THE REALITY

Segment 1 • The Resurrection is the cornerstone of Christian faith, but Andy Stanley downplays its biblical foundation. • Many missed hearing the Gospel this Easter, with Stanley offering no biblical foundation for the Resurrection. • King Charles' Easter message referenced Muslims, and the Pope's final Easter address called for world peace—but both sidestepped the central message of Easter: God's love through Christ. Segment 2 • Melito of Sardis, a second-century saint, preached a powerful gospel-centered sermon that would be rejected by many modern preachers. • His Easter sermon focuses on the suffering of Jesus, contrasting with today's often trivialized, moralistic messages. • Melito's preaching is drenched in the gospel, not stories or jokes, calling us to rejoice in the true meaning of Easter. Segment 3 • Sermons like Melito's from 170 A.D. are rare today, yet they are a rich example of Christ-centered, theologically sound preaching. • This sermon is lofty and reverent, elevating the listener's understanding of God, and demonstrates the power of high view theology. Segment 4 • A few exceptions to weak Easter preaching: Franklin Graham and Billy Graham both stayed true to the Gospel. • Billy Graham's Easter message was fully focused on Jesus—no distractions, no moralism, just the glorious gospel. • Preaching centered on Christ and the Word lasts, and is desperately needed in today's pulpits. – Preorder the new book, Lies My Therapist Told Me, by Fortis Institute Fellow Dr. Greg Gifford now! https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/liesmytherapisttoldme – Thanks for listening! Disney's new live-action remake of Snow White has been a disaster with people on all sides of the political divide and culture wars finding something to hate about the film, but could it also be full of important Christian theology? Phil and Skye are joined by Mike Erre to examine the biblical theme of abundance versus scarcity, how it applies to Christians, and why so many evangelicals have accepted a zero-sum vision that is contrary to the kingdom of God. Kaitlyn Schiess interviews Bri Stensrud, director of Women of Welcome, about her journey from being a pro-life advocate to also being pro-immigrant and the false narratives too many Christians believe about this issue. 654: Inauguration Consternation & Respecting Refugees with Matthew Soerens

The first week of the second Trump administration has seen refugees cut off and January 6th criminals cut loose. Franklin Graham declared in his inauguration prayer that God himself had chosen the President. The MAGA faithful applauded this mix of Christian faith and politics, but when Bishop Budde asked the President to “show mercy” to frightened people during her homily at the National Cathedral, she was accused of everything from political activism to witchcraft. Phil has a theory about what these two religious leaders at the inauguration reveal about the state of American Christianity. Then Matthew Soerens from World Relief is back to discuss Trump's immediate shut down of all refugee resettlement, including cutting all financial aid previously promised to refugees already in the U.S. What's behind the President's aggressive policy, and how can we practically help our neighbors abandoned by the government that brought them here?
