Today's Poll Question at Smerconish.com: Are America's best days ahead or behind us? Michael examines a deceptively simple question that cuts to the heart of America's national mood. Drawing on new Quinnipiac and AP-NORC polling, he explores a striking contradiction: most Americans believe the country is falling short of its founding ideals, yet more say America's best days are still ahead than behind. Why do so many remain proud to be American while expressing deep concerns about the nation's direction? Michael breaks down the numbers, the partisan divide, and what these results reveal about optimism, patriotism, and the future of the United States as it approaches its 250th anniversary. Episode 9 features special guests Jude and Monty Daugherty! Pastor John and Arvin sit down with Pastor John's 2 sons to discuss the life of a pastor's kid, what it's like going to a private Christian school, the importance of being the kind of parents who will apologize to their kids, and plenty more incredible topics you most certainly have never heard mentioned on any other episode of Behind The Scenes of Our Best Days!

This week's episode is a gentle but honest discussion about hearing the voice of God and making good decisions after having done so. One of the most important behind the scenes topics in any Christian's life is the ability to actually hear God's voice and discern what He's really telling you to do. John and Arvin dive into personal examples where things have gone really well or rather poorly based on how they or their friends have chosen to steward God's voice in their lives. This conversation won't be the ultimate guide to hearing God's voice, but it may grant you some comfort and resonance as you go about pursuing a life lived through and for Him.

Revelation: The Final Letter Part 5Sometimes we long for the good ol' days... especially when the days get hard. In the book of Revelation we are told that our best days are yet to come. Pastor Dave explains as we conclued "Letters of Life".
In this episode, John and Arvin discuss the importance of developing healthy friendships while serving God and others in ministry. They note the difference between a “Giver” and “Taker” as it pertains to social dynamics and make their best attempt at granting listeners a sense of permission to slow down and be grateful for the people and life God has already given them. For those who'd say they've received nothing and no one from God, they offer an easy-to-implement solution that may shift a person from loneliness to a place of knowing/being known.

In this episode, John and Arvin discuss what is perhaps the most behind the scenes topic in the history of the podcast. What is it like to inherit the wins and losses of the past while seeking God for what He intends to do through you in the future?Parenting, Church-life, and an all-consuming, all-hands on deck approach to living out your God-given destiny will force a person to reckon with their internal world. John and Arvin hope this episode will equip any listener with the potential strategy they can use to step into the future God wants for humanity (and take their loved ones with them).
Send us Fan MailNo one sets out for a mediocre life. We drift there—one delayed decision, one small compromise at a time.In this solo episode of Spartan Leadership, Josh Kosnick shares the real story behind buying 80 acres, walking away from comfort, and deciding his best days would not be behind him, but built in front of him. You'll hear the raw driveway moment, the tension between “good enough” and calling, and why protecting the life you've built can quietly kill the life you're meant to live.If you've felt yourself coasting, maintaining, or living on drift, this is a calm but direct invitation to wake up, take ownership, and start building with intention again—at home, in business, and in your leadership. If this episode hits home, share it with someone who needs the reminder that their story isn't finished—and neither are their best days.
The Cork hurlers two from two to start the round robin series for the first time since its inception in 2018 and the footballers into a first Munster final in five years... a good weekend's work. The Echo Sport Podcast crew break down the action from Thurles and SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh and access the state of play with time to take a breath before the action resumes after the May Bank Holiday. Now in its fourth season, every week Éamonn Murphy is joined by The Echo team, including Barry O'Mahony, Denis Hurley, Rory Noonan, John Horgan and more to discuss all the latest Cork GAA news on and off the field. On the hurling front, Cork emptied the tank to pull off a victory against Limerick, who, despite losing Aaron Gillane to a training-ground injury and Cian Lynch to a second-half red card, came very close to winning on Leeside. For the hosts, it's now 11 games in league and championship without defeat since two years ago when going under to Clare left them on the brink. It's been an incredible run, as Man of the Match and captain Darragh Fitzgibbon told RTE: "It's just unbelievable here, these are the best days of our lives.”Now look we all know it's an All-Ireland we crave but that shouldn't take from the effort this group of players are putting in to try and end the famine. They had a ropey start on Sunday and didn't manage the last quarter as effectively as we'd have liked with an extra man but Limerick haven't hoovered up 15 major trophies in nine years for nothing. They remain a phenomenal outfit but Cork are in an extremely strong position to make it into the All-Ireland series with plenty to work on as well. Injuries to Ciarán Joyce and Rob Downey are a concern, the puck-outs remain a work in progress and some of the younger guns are still learning. But there are no shortage of positives either, with the goal threat to the fore once more and huge leadership being shown by the more experienced hurlers. On the football front, Cork got going after a sluggish opening half at sun-sorched Semple Stadium before powering to a 15-point victory over Tipp. Being able to call on Ruairí Deane, Colm O'Callaghan and Brian Hurley from the bench highlighted the gulf in class between the sides but Cork are as well set as they've been in a while to rattle Kerry in Killarney.Getting a first win in Fitzgerald Stadium in 31 years will be another sceál of course but there's big interest in the game and John Cleary's charges deserve massive support. Look what difference it makes to the hurlers... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
In Episode 253: Every Day Is a Good Day, I share a message that came from a recent sacrament meeting talk and how it applies directly to missionaries, returned missionaries, and anyone navigating waiting periods, hard seasons, or emotional challenges. Whether you're in mission prep, waiting on a visa, struggling to find your place, or just feeling like life isn't going the way you expected, this episode is a reminder that both the best days and the worst days are part of God's plan for growth. I talk about the reality that life often feels like "the wind did never cease to blow," but that those winds are always moving us toward something greater. We dive into what it really means to "let God prevail," and how that doesn't mean everything works out the way we think it should—it means trusting that God's plan works even in disappointment, uncertainty, and discomfort. I share personal experiences, gospel insights, and powerful reminders that joy is not the absence of hard days, but the presence of Jesus Christ in all of them. This episode will help you reframe your challenges, understand the purpose behind both best days and worst days, and strengthen your trust in Heavenly Parents and the Savior. Most importantly, in Episode 253: Every Day Is a Good Day, I want you to walk away knowing that you are a child of God on your best days and your worst days—and that every day can be a good day because of Jesus Christ. Even when things don't feel good, His Atonement sanctifies every experience for your growth, your healing, and your good. This episode is a powerful reminder to trust the process, lean not on your own understanding, and remember that the real miracle is that we get to partner with Him in this journey. As always, if you found this episode helpful, I want to invite you to subscribe if you aren't already, share this episode with your friends and missionaries you know, and write a review. I know this work will help LDS missionaries around the world and it would mean so much to me if you did. What happened to the company that once understood India better than anyone else? For decades Hindustan Unilever has dominated kitchen pantries and bathroom cabinets across the country: Surf Excel in the laundry, Brooke Bond in the kitchen, Clinic Plus in the bathroom. It was the undisputed gold standard of brand building in this country. Well, until it wasn't. Case in point: a couple of weeks ago, a journalist shared a chart from an HSBC report on social media. The chart listed some of HUL's biggest brands — Ponds, Lux, Rin, Lifebuoy, Kissan, Surf, Glow & Lovely, Vim, Bru — and showed where each of them stood ten years ago versus today.Turns out, most of them have barely grown, if at all. Something has shifted at the company that was once India's consumption barometer. The brands that generate genuine excitement today aren't HUL brands. More often than not, they are scrappy D2C upstarts that, on paper, shouldn't stand a chance against a behemoth like HUL.In the latest episode of Two By Two, we try to answer one simple question: Are HUL's best days behind it?Two By Two hosts Praveen Gopal Krishnan and Rahel Philipose are joined by Seetharaman G, Deputy Editor at The Ken and Sandeep Nair, co-founder of marketing consultancy firm, David and Who. Both of them see this story play out in opposite ways. And that's where it gets interesting. Tune in. During General Conference one of my favorite talks was by Emily Belle Freeman, April 2026, Best Days and Worst Days, she said, "Several weeks ago we began planning our daughter's wedding. With great joy, we dreamed and brainstormed as we considered all the options. And then my husband, Greg, received a phone call he couldn't ignore. It was the oncologist confirming what we hoped wasn't true. Greg's cancer had returned.Isn't it amazing how you can go from best day to worst day in a matter of minutes? This is mortality. A proving ground. A place designed for growth. I have learned that God allows mortality to do its work in us—and that includes both best days and worst days.”I began to think about WORST day moments to BEST day moments. A bit of a reverse thought from Emily's talk. But as Emily said at the end of her talk...."Because of Him, no matter how bad things are right now, your best days are ahead.”

Why do some days feel powerful, clear, and aligned… and then disappear without explanation? In this episode, Why Your Best Days Feel Accidental, we break down the real reason your highest days seem random. It is not luck. It is not motivation. It is not discipline magically showing up. It is alignment happening by accident. Most people experience their best days when their nervous system is regulated, their focus is clear, and their actions match who they truly want to be. The problem is they never study what created that day. They wait for it to happen again instead of learning how to design it on purpose. We talk about:• The core trap that keeps you in randomized alignment• How your nervous system creates good days and bad days• Why waiting for inspiration makes you powerless• How to intentionally recreate the conditions of your highest performance• What changes when you stop hoping for good days and start engineering themIf you have ever said, “I don't know what I did differently, but today felt amazing,” this episode is your answer.Your best days were never random. You just never learned how to build them.Listen in and learn how to stop waiting for alignment and start designing it.

It's a snow day, Slackers! This episode is all about some of the wildest weather moments the U.S. has seen from 1965 right up to now. The standout blizzards, hurricanes, and tornado outbreaks that have hit hard, shut down cities, reshaped coastlines, and left people talking about them for decades. These storms actually changed lives and showed just how powerful nature can get, especially in places you wouldn't always expect.Take the Great Blizzard of 1978—snow piled so high (I took a sled out a second story bedroom window), screaming winds, and basically ground the entire region to a halt for days. Or jump ahead to Hurricane Gloria in '85, which rolled up the coast and knocked out power across a big chunk of New England, including right here in Massachusetts. And then there's the 2011 Springfield tornado, a rare beast for this part of the country that tore straight through towns and downtown areas, reminding everyone that even the Northeast isn't immune to serious twisters. The takeaway is simple: these events keep teaching us tough lessons about staying ready. Weather doesn't mess around, and the more we remember the big ones, the better we can handle whatever comes next. It's a mix of respect for the Old Mother Earth and a little hope that we're getting smarter about facing it.

Economically, we’re doing well! The stock market is looking good; unemployment is down (4.4%); and consumer spending is up. So why aren’t people feeling more prosperous? Gen Z, aged around 18–28, is being criticized for being the laziest workforce ever, transactional and unmotivated, claiming they’re not failing at work, rather, work is failing them. Podcaster and hundred-millionaire businessman Patrick Bet-David is using his platform to school the younger generation on why communism is not the answer, and that they must embrace capitalism. In episode 10, John and Arvin discuss their approach to storytelling specifically for Victory Church's audience. It's the season of being a "Craftsmen." John and Arvin lay out the imperative nature of this time period in order for an artist to develop without being subverted by the world or made redundant by cliches and tropes.

Victory's Creative Pastor John Daugherty and his assistant Arvin Sepehr spend episode 8 of the Best Days podcast series reminiscing on a lifetime of being pastor's kids in their parents' prayer meetings, the bravery it takes to stay faithfully planted in a church community long-term, and the sort of life that can only be experienced on the other side of submission to God-ordained principles.
In episode 7, John and Arvin dive into Christian upbringing, the importance of knowing when to end something, and the gratitude one should feel to the generation who raised them.
