Send us a textThis might be the most fun episode we ever produced. As we look back at George H. W. Bush , Pro wrestling fan. With the help of Charleston Post and Courier articles written by their star reporter Mike Mooneyham, we will examine the Bush connection to the world of Professional wrestling and especially his fondness for wrestling's greatest athlete, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. We will hear about Bush's friendship with promoter Paul Boesch, his lifelong connection to "Chief" Ed "Wahoo" McDaniel, and his later friendship with "The Big Cat" Ernie Ladd. We will also hit the trail , in 1992, on the whistlestop tour that took George Bush through the Carolinas, with the biggest sports star of them all, Ric Flair. It was at a rally in Spartanburg S.C. where our Host, Randal Wallace, was able to maneuver himself up near the front with a little help from Martha Bishop, the sister of our Senator Strom Thurmond, so he would be nearly front row for the rally at the Train Depot, that would feature not only the President, but Governor Carrol Campbell, Lieutenant Governor Bob Peeler, Senator Strom Thurmond, Congressional Candidate Bob Inglis, and our host's childhood sports hero, Ric Flair. To this day, as you will hear, it remains Wallace's favorite memory of any in his over 45 years in politics. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any footage from the Spartanburg rally, but we do have some examples of George Bush out on his 1992 whistle-stop tour, and we do have some later moments from the 2008 Presidential campaign where Ric Flair would return to the trail to campaign for Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. It was at the event for Huckabee in Myrtle Beach that our host again became the focus of attention as he stood with a folder full of wrestling magazines hoping to get them autographed by Ric Flair, at the Huckabee rally, while serving as the Rudy Giuliani Horry County Chairman. It made the news, in two articles in the Sun News political blog Poli-tick-Tock. Trump revokes Biden's arms policy towards Israel, also, reform Jewish organizations have united to oppose Mike Huckabee's confirmation as U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Their problem is that Huckabee has strong pro-Israel, pro-American, and pro-Christian stances. These opposing groups are merely left-wing Democratic organizations masquerading as religious ones. There are two views of law: Republicans uphold a just, principle-based law rooted in natural rights and Judeo-Christian values that strengthen culture and family, while Democrats favor a power-driven, arbitrary law that disregards the Constitution and seeks to control society, breaking generational bonds. Also, President Trump's idea of selling U.S. citizenship for $5 million could generate revenue rather than burden resources like hospitals and schools, which the left tolerates with open borders. President Trump's proposed minerals deal would massively benefit both the U.S. and Ukraine. We'd gain access to billions, maybe trillions, in rare earth minerals and metals from Ukraine, boosting American businesses and jobs there. Ukraine would get huge investment and revenue in return. Plus, a strong U.S. presence would likely deter Russia from invading again, making NATO membership less critical for Ukraine. Heated and emotional exchanges happen privately between nations, but Zelenskyy shouldn't have argued publicly— the focus was finalizing a deal that was supposedly already set. SERIES 3 EPISODE 69: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: Forget for a moment "Attorney General" Matt Gaetz and the bottom falling out of the market for prosecuting men who have sex with underaged girls. Forget for a moment associating Tulsi Gabbard with the word "Intelligence." Forget the prospect of Press Secretary Sage Steele. Even forget Trump's plan to adjourn both houses of Congress so he can appoint an entire cabinet without a single hearing and the Republicans rushing to bark like seals as the Lame Duck Dictator starts rolling out the Third Reich. The lead story was a different 'third.' “I suspect I won't be running again,” Trump said to his newly elected Republican House slaves, “unless you say ‘he's good, we got to figure something else” and every news organization reported he was joking and kidding and trolling and - spoiler alert - he's NOT. He's NOT kidding. He's intending to stay in office and if we're nice to him he'll let us elect him again. They've been working on this for more than a year: it's a re-interpretation of the 22nd Amendment and the two-term limit, claiming it means three CONSECUTIVE terms, or going around it and getting him by any one of four different backdoors.  That Trump is emboldened enough to go public with his "kidding" tells you how badly he has misread the shock this would create. Oh yes, everyone reported, he's a kidder. He's kidding. Ask Mike Pence how much of a kidder he is. MEANWHILE: Lincoln had his "Team of Rivals." Trump is building his "Team of Trifles." And the key appointment isn't Gaetz or Gabbard or Huckabee or any of these other empty vessels. It's Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense because when the protests against Trump starts and he wants the protestors to face U.S. Army tanks and be shot with your taxpayer bullets, the guy who is just crazy enough to order it is this lunatic Hegseth. B-Block (27:54): POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Jack Smith will get out, and get out a report. Putin continues to turn the screws on Trump. At Mar-a-Lago, Elon Musk is "getting a little big for his britches" (Ozempic time!). Musk is also at war with Steve Bannon. Melania won't live at the White House.
