This week, the boys get all Tom & Huck and head to the Mississippi River to discuss Jeff Nichols' “Mud”. The random year generator spun 2013, and we decided to follow up our recent “Take Shelter” episode to see how Nichols handled the McConaissance. What we didn't expect was finding some of the best youth performances ever by Tye Sheridan and Jacob Lofland in a Stand-By-Me-Meets-Huckleberry-Finn narrative. After the Avengers: Doomsday CinemaCon major announcement, Greg Alba & Coy Jandreau jump into three more big genre reveals: the new Spider-Noir “Villains” teaser, the long-awaited Coyote vs. Acme trailer, and the first look at Evil Dead Burn. Marvel's CinemaCon presentation debuted a new Doomsday trailer, while Spider-Noir is set to premiere on MGM+ on May 25, 2026 and globally on Prime Video on May 27 with all eight episodes available in both black-and-white and color. Nicolas Cage stars as Ben Reilly / The Spider, with the series also featuring Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Li Jun Li, and Jack Huston We're also reacting to Coyote vs. Acme, the movie Warner Bros. shelved and Ketchup Entertainment rescued for theaters. Directed by Dave Green, the film stars Will Forte, John Cena, Lana Condor, P.J. Byrne, and Martha Kelly, and follows Wile E. Coyote taking legal action against the Acme Corporation over all those famously defective products. The new trailer finally gives a real look at the movie ahead of its August 28, 2026 theatrical release. While “Eternal Sunshine” didn't gross in the top 70, it may be the year's greatest film. The boys head to prison on Devil's Island to discuss 1973's “Papillon”! One of the highest-grossing movies of the year, this true-story account of Steve McQueen's character befriending Dustin Hoffman's character to help keep each other alive and prepare their escape from the no-chance-of-return prison, a world away from their native France.
