Robert Vineski April 29, 1970 - May 16, 2014 "Our benefit for Bobby has taken on a whole new meaning. Instead of working to save a life, it will be a celebration of a great drummer, great man, husband and father. Please come out for your support." - Devin Mann https://www.facebook.com/events/317606165055024/ http://LocalMetroMusic.com https://www.facebook.com/AriaMarieFoundation Featuring the music of Deaf Go Blind, Shotgun Surprise (an interview with lead singer, Dale as well), Shockwave, Christy & The Professors, Damn Van Cannibals, Stroller Coaster, and The Porcelain Doll Collection !!
I was fortunate enough to attend shows on both Friday and Sunday of this past week. Truth is I hadn't had such a great weekend, since God knows when. As I keep repeating, "amazing night, with amazing company". In this ep you'll hear quite a few of those bands, that I enjoyed so much. From Friday at the Token Lounge, The Porcelain Doll Collection (actually they were a Sunday band as well, so you get two Dolls' songs), Steal Your Medicine, and Manic Attack. From Sunday, first from the Detroit Pub, as I mentioned, the Dolls, along with the Fluke. After the Pub, I headed to Hamtramck to Small's, where I witnessed much to birthday girl, Chelsea Maxine's delight, Hook N Krooks (Happy Birthday, Chels!!), and Cash O'Riley. Also songs by myself, featuring Jay Hackstock and the Sympathy Orchestra. Also lucky for all of you (okay, maybe not), I'm an absolute motor mouth in this ep, mostly because there's some really cool things on the horizon!!
This one is strictly Detroit Punk, folks. We pay homage to Detroit legends Thee Trash Brats and The Paybacks. Also featuring, the Flaks, Against the Grain, Johnny Roastbeef, the Porcelain Doll Collection, the Koffin Kats, the Gutter Ghouls, Fires in Japan, and of course the almighty, Detroit Perfect. You may just hear a different side, to our almighty (there's that word again) leader, Mr. Halfway. That's what that dick makes us call him around here. Oh, shit..I'm sorry, Mr. Hami, I mean Mr. Halfway. Anyway, enjoy the show!! He always makes us put up these stupid exclamation points, and there HAS to be two of them, because, according to that dick, it will remind people of his crappy band Halfway II. I can see why Shonny Constant wanted to kill this motherfucker, half (get it, half) the time. This we don't mind, because we believe in them wholeheartedly. http://warped.battleofthebands.com/u/tpdc https://www.facebook.com/events/317606165055024/ We'll say this for that asshole, he has great taste in women. Oh sorry, !!
Bill's mouth is very dirty in this ep, guaranteed to offend someone. That being said, this is one of his better shows. A lot of stories to go along with the songs from the bands Bill is friendly with, such as JAKDD, Lazerface, and his own band, Detroit Perfect. Also including songs from Stroller Coaster, Nuke and the Hellriders (thanks to Chelsea Maxine), Hooks N' Krooks (thanks to Chelsea Maxine, once again), and Rawdogs (thanks to Shonny Constant, even though he has no idea), and it wouldn't be the Halfway House if we did't play The Porcelain Doll Collection. Make sure you vote for TPDC to play Warped this year here: http://warped.battleofthebands.com/u/tpdc. Please don't forget our benefit for Bobby, all info can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/317606165055024/.
A kick ass show,I guarantee it!! Featuring, Deaf Go Blind (Please check out, https://www.facebook.com/events/317606165055024/), The Gutter Ghouls, The Dewtons, The Porcelain Doll Collection (vote here: http://warped.battleofthebands.com/u/tpdc), and Detroit Perfect. On the hip hop side of things we have, King ludy, and The Forcefield.
This episode features, Stone Clover, Steal Your Medicine, Detroit Perfect (hey, it is my show), Beast House, The Porcelain Doll Collection (Did you vote yet? If not do so here: http://warped.battleofthebands.com/u/tpdc), JAKDD, and the only band not out of Metro Detroit, Sleeze!!
The funk of the Chiropractiers, the punk of Stroller Coaster, The Porcelain Doll Collection, and Detroit Perfect, the reggae of Leaving Lifted, the R&B of John D. Green Sr., the rap of Robert Illo (featuring Bizarre of D12 And Gda Starr) and King Ludy, and the rock and f'n roll of Lazerface and Maria Wade!!
This ep is very special to me, in that I got to interview a hero of mine, the Trash Brat's Ricky Rat. Ricky was nothing but cool. We play a Ricky solo song and of course a song by the almighty Brats. On the punk side of things we have CBJ, Matt Wixon's Flying Circus, Stroller Coaster, and the Porcelain Doll Collection (who hopefully with our help, will be playing the stages of the Warped Tour)! Reppin' that hip hop "D" are King Ludy (featuring from Doughboyz Cashout, HBK) and the ForceField!
Detroit Garage Rock at its finest(and one Canadian band)! This week's ep features from the Motor City, Vox Vera, the one and only, Detroit Perfect (yes, I'm biased), My new favorites, The Porcelain Doll Collection, Two legendary Detroit bands, the Trash Brats and the Paybacks, my good friends Lazerface, and the only act not from Detroit Rock City, Toronto's Plaid on Flannel !!
I had the honor and privilege to attend a listener party for King Ludy's new mix tape, so it gave me the idea to do a show dedicated to some of the best hip hop Detroit has to offer. Besides the aforementioned King Ludy, we have Drez Mcflan, who was brought to my attention by one DJ G-Raw, Sheefy McFly, Genghis Ganj, Frostmatic, and Robert Illo and Gda Starr. Big ups to Bizarre and make sure to visit http://DetroitRap.com for all they do for the Detroit hip hop community.
