On this episode of Federal Prison Authority Presents: Around the Block, Bruce and Susan this week have a special guest, Dory Sater. Dory is a former inmate and has experience going through the prison system. He shared how he navigated the system to be released early via First Step Act credits. He shares what that process was like for him and his family. In the past, he was a lawyer for almost 25 years, and he used this knowledge to inform others and prepare him for his sentence. Dory emphasizes the importance of staying busy and how the freedom within his confinement helped not only his physical health but his mental health as well. Currently, Dory is in the process of trying to regain his license in law and continue his passion. A big topic of discussion is the difference between home confinement and a halfway house. Dory also talks about how he stayed hopeful even during his confinement's difficult times. Toward the end, they discuss how COVID shook up the confinement process and explore how the prison system is still a work in progress. This very informative episode gives viewers an inside look at what it is like to go through the system. Golf equipment has got expensive, hasn't it? It seems most drivers have crossed the £500 barrier and putters don't seem too far behind. But is new equipment worth it? In this week's Fairway or Foul debate Tom Irwin and Steve Carroll argue the case for golf club prices. Steve has almost been crushed under the weight of your rules questions – and he answers a trio of interesting queries – while, with the Masters tantalisingly on the horizon, he also tries to outfox Tom in this week's quiz… Website: https://www.nationalclubgolfer.com/ X: https://x.com/NCG_com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NationalClubGolfer Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nationalclubgolfer/?hl=en

A vital part of a player's armoury, or just an excuse to get into a row about anchoring? Steve Carroll and Tom Irwin are back with their quizzes and questions edition. In this week's Fairway or Foul debate, the pair dive into the long putter argument and debate whether it's got any place in the game. Elsewhere, we talk about the World Handicap System (just for a change) – but this time Steve is quizzing Tom on his knowledge about the global order. We go through your questions, and there have been plenty of them, and Steve's been getting some grief on social media. This podcast doesn't exist without you. Send us your quiz questions, tell us what to debate, give us your rules or WHS queries. We don't mind what it is. Big handicaps, switching tees, a sport that is accessible to all – but is it making the game too easy? Or is there plenty still to test us in this most unfathomable of games? It's the Fairway or Foul debate in this week's episode of The Halfway House, our quizzes and questions episode. Can Tom Irwin win the day once again by asserting that golf is tough enough, or will Steve convince you it's becoming ever easier to play? Steve's also got a rules question that will surprise some of you, and - following his win at The Players - we look ahead to the chances of Rory McIlroy in this year's majors. Surely he has to win one this year? As always, we want you to get in touch. Send us your quiz questions, tell us what to debate, give us your rules or WHS queries. We don't mind what it is. This week, we discuss two films which delve into the Soviet/Russian psyche. The first is Brother (1997), a neo-noir crime drama which follows a young Russian veteran navigating the criminal underworld of post-Soviet Saint Petersburg, where his code of honor and survival instincts are tested amid violence and betrayal. The second is Come and See (1985), a harrowing journey through the horrors of World War II, as a Belarusian boy witnesses the unimaginable brutality of the Nazi invasion, leaving him forever changed. Graham Coath talks to a young musician from Liverpool who started playing guitar at about 7 and is now developing into a well known singer songwriter on the local scene. Harry Fazakerley is quickly making his mark on the music scene. 16 year old Harry started writing music mid 2024 and his debut single 'Patience' saw over 13K streams in its first month of release along with 7K monthly listeners. The song featured as 'Track Of The Day' on This Is The Music and North West Connections. Already a popular artist in the Merseyside area, Harry recently secured Jamie Webster's old acoustic slot at the Liverpool pub The Halfway House - the first artist to take this on long term since Jamie left to go on to new heights several years ago. Harry is now tipped to follow in Jamie's footsteps. A duet with the Cheap Thrills singer Lewis Pike was the highlight of a recent charity show. Harry is working closely with Liverpool Football Club and is playing to a 2K plus crowd at the end of the football season as well as providing regular entertainment for the club's corporate events. His anticipated new single 'I Want To Go Home' is released mid March. 2025 will see Harry continue to perform at top Liverpool venues and branch out to playing gigs in Manchester and further afield. The future is bright for this young artist who is already much in demand by music venues and promoters across the North West.

This is a riveting tale of resilience and rediscovery — my own story of navigating life in a halfway house and the relentless pursuit of finding my place in the world again, post-prison.In our discussion, we'll traverse the hallways of the halfway house I called home after release. We'll introduce you to the characters that make up this unique community, the strict rules that govern it, and how, despite its restrictive nature, it serves as a lifeline for those eager for a fresh start. We ceaselessly wade through the ebbs and flows of dorm life, tackle conflicts, and navigate the spiritual differences that often surface in such places. Through my experiences, you'll grasp how a halfway house can be both a refuge and a training ground for life's next battle.Upon leaving the halfway house, the journey doesn't end, it merely changes course. An equally challenging path lies ahead as I reunite with estranged family and grapple with guilt, remorse, and a drastic change in family dynamics. We'll venture into my mother's 'redneck paradise,' a drastic living situation that's a stark contrast to the halfway house rules. By the end of this episode, you'll have a more profound understanding of the challenges faced by individuals post-prison and the essential role halfway houses play in smoothing that road. Join us for an enlightening discussion where the humanity behind the stigma is unmasked, and life's raw, unfiltered truths are laid bare. James Harper was the host of "Two Cents Worth" and Angel Sandoval was the host of the "Sales Rehab" show. The two shows focused on sales and personal development and actually competed against each other in a productive way. James invited Angel to be a guest on his show and a friendship was formed. They decided to join forces under the common belief that 'Sales Saved My Life'. Both were excellent interviewers. Angel was interested in his guests and was a very good at knowing where to dig deeper based on inflection and tonality. This soft skill was learned in the trenches of sales and cold-calling. James has always been amazing at connecting really smart people together. He plays point guard to the conversation and then gets out of the way. James is a master connector and Angel is a master of reading the room. Putting these two skills together is the foundation of the powerhouse today called Day Porter and the Profitable Cleaner Podcast.Angel was born in Mexico City and came to the US to El Paso, TX at 10 years old. He developed a huge dream to learn English and Naturalize. It took him 8 years. He graduated with a marketing degree from UTEP and was an aspiring ballet dancer. James was born in Denver, CO. He dealt with a lot of grief, anger, and drugs and faced 2 – 5 years in prison. He found sales in a Halfway House. Sales was the only career that would take him.Angel created a mission to help those without mainstream options to get into selling through SWITCH (Sell With Intention to Create Happiness)."My initial motivation was fear. I lived in fear a lot of my life. How do you combat fear with comfortability, especially when you're the weakest one? You got to make a connection and learn to blend." – James HarperAngel shares his creation process that propelled him in the dance world and how that helped him as an entrepreneur. You start with creation and tell a story throughout the dance. This story gets perfected and marketed. You need to test the creation to see how it hits with audiences, then feedback to make it better. I loved this mindset."I brought Survival Mode with me for many years. But I had to change because Survival Mode brings scarcity. It serves you, but you need to evolve from that." – James Harper"Most of us don't actually go through a rough life and that's okay. Whatever card you get dealt in life, you roll with. Don't let someone else's difficult path discourage you from trying it." – Angel SandovalAngel, James & Ken dive into our Christian testimonies and have church! Multiple topics come up that you need to hear like Humility & Gratefulness, Stewardship, Good for Orderly Direction (GOD),"I feel that once you encounter God, there's no way not to believe in God." – Angel"Stewardship is not just money. We are called to steward money, time, health, and relationships." – Angel "When I look at my life, there is no logical way how things have played out. If I do try to put logic to it, the only answer I can put to it is God I've tried to prove God wrong and I just can't." – James"Illogical Moments Lead to Logical Faith." – AngelRead the rest of this article at the Smart Cleaning School website

#STSNation,Welcome to Surviving The Survivor the podcast that brings you the best guests in true crime. Week 3 of the Lori Vallow Daybell trial is set to begin Tuesday. Lori is currently housed in the Ada County Jail but could likely spend the rest of her days in a maximum security state prison. What's life like behind bars for a woman? The trial of the so-called “Doomsday Mom” is the wildly twisted story of a seemingly loving mother, a self-proclaimed devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who clearly veered way off course …. And became involved in the deaths of as many as five people, including her own children. #BestGuests Founder of Evolution Reentry Services, Jacqueline is a leader with over 25 years' of proven successes in mentoring and therapeutic environments and criminal justice reentry. Her experience working with trauma in the criminal justice field culminated through her personal journey of making poor choices over a decade ago.Holli Coulman is one of the most notable and respected Women's Prison Consultants. Through various prison consultancy platforms, she navigates families and individuals through the difficulty of incarceration. Pleading to guilty crimes, she spent time in a Women's Camp at FCC Victorville, California, two months in the Solitary Housing Unit (SHU) at the San Bernardino County Jail, and the final three months at a Halfway House.Ashley Furst joined Evolution Reentry Services after spending 10 years in the Marketing & Communications world with various non-profits. Ashley regularly volunteers to go back into prison with the Breakthrough program in Colorado, working to show the men and women that are incarcerated that they are more than the worst mistake they made on the worst day of their life. #LoriVallowDaybell #LoriVallow #DoomsdayMom #DoomsdayMother #Boise #TJ #Tylee #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #LoriVallowTrial #LoriVallowDaybellTrialFor Ad-Free & BTS Content ...Support the show ❤️https://www.patreon.com/survivingthesurvivor
