   New York City is in big trouble.  If America's largest city is in crisis over illegal aliens hanging out and destroying things all over the place, how can we handle any more people at all?  Their mayor is crying foul and threating lawsuits and, well, it's all their own fault for putting up a neon sign saying they're better than conservatives and everyone is welcome.  Citizen or not.    Tyreek Hill's house fire was started by an unattended child playing with a lighter.  This is the least surprising part of this story.     The Chiefs have some big decisions to make about playing time Sunday, especially with Rashee Rice who has more Yards after Catch than Tyreek Hill this year.  Amazing.    Conference basketball starts for KU, KSU and MU  Saturday and we'll preview their games and chances.  And there's a glaring stat about the Big 12 strength of schedule that is one of the craziest things I've ever heard.    The Royals should, at the very least, consider signing ace pitcher Trevor Bauer who's been blackballed the past two years.  This is a wild story but Bauer is free and clear and I don't see why he can't play.    And Lee Sterling of www.paramountsports.com is here with our point spread picks this weekend.

When fast-moving fires spread through Washington's Okanogan and Douglas counties over Labor Day weekend, the flames threatened the town of Bridgeport, forcing more than 200 farmworkers to spend a night sleeping outside in a city park in nearby Brewster. Paula Soto, whose family lives in Bridgeport, says many were not prepared for a wildfire. “These families are of low income,” Soto says. “Most of them that were affected, it was their trailers that were burned. And most did not have insurance in their houses. They really have to start from zero.” Nearly 20 homes burned . Soto has gathered donations and supplies to help families who evacuated to hotel shelters. Among those forced to evacuate were hundreds of farmworkers in company housing — mostly foreign H-2A guest workers, but also some migrant farmworker families. According to community members in Bridgeport and Brewster, and farmworkers who spoke on the condition of anonymity, orchard supervisors told workers they needed to evacuate

Kendra Bowyer is the Incident Commander for the Woolsey and Hill Fire debris removal operations in Southern California. She has served in many other capacities in nearly a dozen previous debris Removal operations for the state of California since 2015. Kendra Bower was hired as an Emergency Services Coordinator with CalOES in early 2018 following six years of emergency management in the private sector. She specializes in recovery and wildfire debris removal. Kendra loves the work she does because she feels that this is a way to truly give back to society, by helping those in need at a most crucial time in their lives. As a young adult, Kendra lost her childhood home in a tornado so, needless to say,  her passion and love for this work is directly influenced by her personal experience. In California three major fires—the Camp Fire in the north and Hill Fire and Woolsey Fire in the south—continue to rage on a scale the state has never seen before.

At 6:30 Thursday morning, a wildfire of astounding proportions and speed broke out in Northern California. Dubbed the Camp Fire, it covered 11 miles in its first 11 hours of life. A mile an hour might not seem fast in human terms, but it's an extreme rate of speed as far as fires are concerned.

KCSN anchor Veronica Barriga has the latest on the fires affecting Ventura County and northern California. The fast-moving Woolsey Fire has burned more than 14,000 acres. Malibu is under evacuation orders. Law enforcement has opened all four lanes of PCH for southbound traffic. People living in Topanga Canyon Zones 1 thru 6 are asked to evacuate north to the San Fernando Valley. Zones 7, 8, and 9 go southbound on PCH toward the 10. Monte Nido and Hidden Hills are also being evacuated. The fire started Thursday afternoon in the Rocky Peak area west of Chatsworth. The winds helped flames race southwest toward the 101 late Thursday night -- jumping the freeway early Friday morning. The 101 remains closed from Valley Circle Boulevard in Woodland Hills to Reyes Adobe in Agoura Hills. Cal State Northridge graduate Jonathan Gonzalez is now with NBC4. He posted Instagram videos before and after flames raced up a hill where he and his cameraman were reporting. The National Park Service says flames have destroyed the iconic Western Town at Paramount Ranch. It's been used in T-V shows and movies for decades -- most recently in Westworld on H-B-O. Will Smith posted videos on social media showing how close the fire is to his house. The so-called Hill Fire has burned about 6,000 acres. People living in the following areas are under mandatory evacuation orders: Point Mugu Naval Base, Camarillo Springs, Vallecito Trailer Park, Cal State Channel Islands, Dos Vientos and South Coast. A fire near Chico -- in northern California -- has burned 70,000 acres. It's just five-percent contained. Several deaths have been reported in the town of Paradise.
