Sydney hops on the mic solo today to reflect on grief and loss and to share a life update.  On August 1st Sydney's Grandma Pearl suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. She was this podcast's biggest fan and she never missed an episode. When Sydney sat down with Christa Couture and Cat Peters back in June (two recent episodes on grief and loss) she had no idea that she would be embarking on another grief journey so soon after losing her Grandpa Milton in October 2020.  In this episode Sydney shares her thoughts and reflections on grief, why remaining present has not only been challenging but also incredibly transformative and crucial, and what she's learned from her experience with grief and loss so far. Plus, Sydney shares more about her incredibly talented Grandma Pearl Kaufman.  Our biggest takeaway from this episode? Remaining present with grief is challenging, but it allows us to learn so much about ourselves and just how capable we are of loving others and ourselves.  We would love it if you checked out Pearl's incredible talent and music on Spotify here and Apple Podcasts here. Cat Peters joins us to share a lesson she's learned about the relationship between grief and joy, and how grief can actually be a conduit to joy, hope, possibility, and connection if we allow it. Cat shares the role of remaining present in processing our grief, why so many of us have beliefs around grief that aren't serving us - like, we won't be able to handle it, it's too big, it's a weakness - and how we can begin to shift these beliefs. We also dive into the difference between grief and other emotions like blame, shame, guilt and regret, the transformational power of grief, the richness that comes from allowing ourselves to feel and experience all of our emotions, and why it's so important to validate our experience around pet loss. Cat's reflections, honesty, and vulnerability will leave you feeling inspired, and remind you that our journey through grief is a deeply personal and intimate journey, but it's not one we're meant to go alone. Cat Peters is a Certified Professional Mindset Coach and Energy Leadership Master Practitioner. After a long and successful career creating multiple businesses and traveling the world, Catherine faced burnout on an epic level. A breast cancer diagnosis in 2018 changed the trajectory of her life. In her search to heal herself and her life, she answered a long-time calling to help others as well. Today we're sharing our next episode in our series "Lessons In" with Veronica Grant.  Veronica Grant is a Love + Life Coach, host of the popular Love Life Connection podcast, and believed deep work is the only way to deep love. She helps successful women who feel like they have it all except love, find it.  Veronica Grant joins us to share a lesson she’s learned about working with our inner child to transform our relationship patterns. Through healing her relationship with her body and discovering her own innate worthiness, Veronica embarked on a journey back to herself through uncovering and healing her limiting beliefs, and ultimately connecting with her inner child. As Veronica shares, when we work with our inner child we’re able to connect the dots between a core childhood wound we experienced with our dating and relationship patterns, and when we heal that wound we no longer attract partners from that place. Veronica’s reflections, honesty, and vulnerability will leave you feeling inspired, and remind you that to find the deep love that we’re craving, we have to be willing to do the deep inner work. Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday! I’m so excited to share the next episode in our series, “Lessons In” featuring Sara McCormick!   Sara McCormick joins us to share a lesson she’s learned about using astrology to frame our self-care practices, especially in times of honoring our grief, why self-care is really soul-care, and how it opens up the door to a greater relationship with yourself. Through sharing her own experience with grief, Sara sheds light on why paying attention to the Moon is incredibly healing, the importance of allowing ourselves to feel our emotions without being overwhelmed by them, the growth that she’s experienced as a result of her practices, and the joy she’s found. Sara’s reflections, honesty, and vulnerability will leave you feeling inspired, and remind you that when we give ourselves permission to sit with our emotions, we’re able to expand in ways we never imagined. As Sara so beautifully shares, allowing ourselves to feel our grief lets us feel and experience our joy too. Sara McCormick is the astrologer behind Bella de Luna. She uses her background in psychology to create astrology tools for magic seekers that help you find your own power and rhythm through planning with the moon cycles, seasonal wisdom, and everyday magic.
