Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets' in Italian) is a new conceptual project by Davide Perrone (Primal Code) that draws inspiration from the factories of Magrathea, a planet in Douglas Adams' classic space opera The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where artificial planets are manufactured on commission. “This concept has always fascinated me, and I chose the name to frame a hypothetical future of synthetic worlds, told with sound,' Davide says. 'I like to imagine the howls of creatures inhabiting solar systems outside our own. Rarefied atmospheres, alien sequences, and unfamiliar tonal scales. So, I see Pianeti Sintetici as an open-ended design research project where I can explore these inspirations.” Pianeti Sintetici already has three stand out releases on the legendary Hypnus records and has played a string of mind bending shows, including this mix, which is a live set from the 2023 edition of Positive Education. Tune in for high fidelity alien psychadelia teased over hypnotizing interstellar grooves
The latest gem in the ever-inspiring Hypnus Records catalog comes from Rotterdam-based Rambadu, a relative newcomer who spent his recent years researching the energetic powers and healing properties of sound. In 2019 and 2020, Rambadu released two successful EPs on his label (the latter including a fantastic remix by Luigi Tozzi). For his collaboration with Hypnus, Rambadu delivers a four-tracker ‘Ajna' - an incredible tribal techno journey that keeps on giving with each new listening. Rambadu's use of live percussions and acoustic instruments paired with hardware devices and modulated field recordings shine in its brightest light in the ‘Ajna' EP. The closing track and our premiere for today, ‘Visie,' is an after-hour tribal-techno delight. The driving rhythm, a heartbeat of ‘Visie,' layered with organic percussive intricacies, is an ideal foundation for drone pads and field recordings to do their magic in the background and create quite a hypnotic atmosphere. ‘Ajna' EP is coming out on June 24th via Hypnus Records. This week we have the pleasure to host Unknown Movements' founder Other Form. Other Form is a techno producer originally from London, now based in Bristol, releasing music on Unterwegs (DE), Dissonanze Recordings (IT), Soptik (DE), and his own label Unknown Movements. His latest EP ‘Each to Our Own Divide’, released at the end of 2020, earned a wave of support from the likes of Ben Klock, Svreca, Takaaki Itoh, Stephanie Sykes, and Amotik.About the mix: "This is the first mix I’ve assembled in 2021, and is intended to be a celebration of all the incredible music that came out in 2020, especially the latter half. The inspiration from these tracks has offered light in an otherwise pretty dark year, and I hope they’ll offer further inspiration as we take on the challenges of this one. In particular, I wanted to showcase some of my favourite output from the South Korean labels Oslated and Huinali and Artscope, some gems from Arcing Seas’ in_vurt compilation, recent highlights from Edit Select, and two tracks from my favourite release of the year: Emily Jeanne’s Public by Default. And, as well as a few other recent highlights — including a just-released track from Kameliia’s debut EP — I’ve also worked in some tracks from my own label’s last two releases of 2020. I hope you enjoy the selections" ~ Elliot TRACKLIST: @vicky-zissou - Tiden [Huinali Recordings] @doltzdeep - Jyakujo [Oslated] @doltzdeep - Henka To Eien [Oslated] @einox - Posthuman [Oslated] @svarogtechnomusic - FF4 [Edit Select] Cavüm (@cavuma) - Merging Sees [Circular Limited] @svarogtechnomusic - FF2 [Edit Select] Cavüm (@cavuma) - Monographic Love [Circular Limited] @Einox - Unknown Totem [Oslated] Blazej Malinowski (@menesmusic) - Continuum [Arcing Seas] Wa Wu We (@sebastianmullaert) - the grip of the frost release itself [Hypnus] @felixfleer & @jonaslandwehr - Metanoia [Edit Select] @emily_jeanne - Sudden, Said, Separate [Semantica] Regis - Masterside 1 (remastered) [Downwards] @dc11music - mnml6 [Unknown Movements] @Einox - Tense Cube [Artscope] @AlternateCurrent - A Gradual Shifting of the Poles [Unknown Movements] @howtolevitate - Stasis [Unknown Movements] @felixfleer & @jonaslandwehr - Limerence [Edit Select] @emily_jeanne - The General Distress [Semantica] @athousanddetails - Narkof [Unknown Movements] @otherform - Further Still [Unknown Movements] @theladymachine - Resilience [Token] @audiounits - Particle Physics [Unknown Movements] @kamelia-parwanowa - Itself [Overbalance] @yohannoh - Your Meditation [Arcing Seas] Follow Other Form here: www.soundcloud.com/otherform www.facebook.com/otherformuk www.instagram.com/otherformuk Follow Unknown Movements here: www.soundcloud.com/unknown-movements www.unknownmovements.com www.unknownmovements.bandcamp.com OUTER DIMENSION www.soundcloud.com/outerdimension www.instagram.com/outerdimension www.facebook.com/OUTERDIMENSION www.formaviva.com/outer-dimension Premiere Requests, Infos & Promos outerdimension.au@gmail.com
Inspired from Nordic landscapes, literature and art, Latmos pours these elements into his layered and droney soundscapes. Latmos drew attention in the Techno community with his strong debut 12" EP ''Pool of Intuition'', released on ''Blacklabel Distillery'' in 2018. The bewitching debut EP incorporates cavernous soundscapes and detailed textures into a minimalistic, yet very functional Techno aesthetic. Alongside with Kemppi and Hatsav, the EP includes a remix from Mike Parker, a legendary hypnotic Techno producer. Latmos states Kemppi and Parker to be one of the first producers, that got him interested in Techno in the first place. The debut EP got support around the world from various Techno DJs like: Oscar Mulero, P.E.A.R.L, Dino Sabatini and Dimi Angelis to name a few. In 2019 Latmos founded his podcast ''Algorytmi Radio''. The key element of the podcast is to support smaller labels and interesting artists in the field of Techno, Ambient, Drone and Experimental Electronic Music. In 2020 Latmos released his second EP ''The Healing Ritual'' on DNC Limited. The EP includes two original tracks of enchanting Ambient Techno and it finishes with a remix by fellow young producer Einox and a collab track with Finnish producer ''Tulva'' aka ''Softie''. In the fall of 2020 Latmos is released his third EP Plural Lifeforms on Subosc. On the EP he is delivering four original tracks of submersive and textured Techno. Thematically the EP focuses on the human subconscious, the interplay between an individual and its environment and human interaction, emphasizing equality and human rights. Many of you will need no introduction to the music of Primal Code, the Italian duo who have conjured up a storm of stunning releases on labels such as Hypnus, The Gods Planet, and Konstrukt in relatively short order. We first connected over their gorgeous, then-unreleased track "Morgana," and since then it's been a pleasure watching them develop their natural and introspective sound, each release as polished and inspiring as the last. I'm so happy to welcome them to the podcast and what they've sent is pure delight, an emerald evocation of sun-pierced woods and the clearing of the morning mist. Enjoy! @primalcodemusic Photography by Angelina Nikolayeva.
Hypnus Yao was one of the many filmmakers premiering a short film at the Front Range Film Festival in Longmont, Colorado. Yao's film, For The Goblins, was a fun, fantasy-driven feature that had audiences smiling. Yao's experience as a young filmmaker was just one of the many topics Yao and Project-Nerd's Kerry Viney got to talk about when they sat down for a quick interview. For more that happened at the Front Range Film Festival 2020, as well as at other awesome events Project-Nerd has attended, take a look at our ProNerd Tour category.
Mindblowing sounds from @Feral_music to close the @Hypnus ceremony back to the first night of our very first festival. Read more: https://mnmt.no/blog/2019/09/16/mnmt-festival-2019-feral/
Mix 73 is a very special treat from the Italian duo Plants Army Revolver, formed in 2014 by Birgan Valentin and Marco Ragni. Their refined ability to craft organic and analog soundscapes has captured the attention of the scene's most lauded outlets, including recent live sets for Hypnus & Inveins, and a just-released EP "Yguana" on Shifted's Avian label. Far from content to rest on their creative laurels, the pair have recorded a unique live set for our series, one which unfolds beautifully from beginning to end and provides a precious glimpse into their studio process. Hello! Friends of the Monument. Our guest for this episode is Luigi Tozzi(@luigitozzi). An Italian based producer with releases on influential labels like Dynamic Reflection and Hypnus Records (Sweden). We could expect to hear more from Luigi in the future as you could read about in the Q&A. On the note of “future”, this mix showcases a futuristic landscape of techno sounds and grooves. A real treat for the mind. 1. Which DJ would you like to share a beer and a conversation with? Why? Probably with the guys from Northern Electronics, especially with Acronym. I am paying a lot of attention to their output and like it very much, it's interesting to me how they express all a similar mood in their music, but keeping a very distinctive and individual touch. They are very careful not to unveil too much about themselves, which is something that I respect, but I'd be very curious to know a bit more about their methods and workflow. 2. How do you make your music? And whats up with the deep and sci-fi sound style? I make my music with an hybrid setup, I own some analog machines (Ms20 mini/Microbrute and a couple drum machines) but I tend to work and process a lot in the box with Ableton and some plugin bundles. This is the way I will continue to work in my solo project, but in the future I am planning to make a collaboration with a friend here in Rome which will be centered only on machines. I think that jamming and arranging live can be very stimulating for creativity and I'm very looking forward to give it a try. 3. What's happening in the future? (releases, gigs etc) A lot is happening in the next months, with Hypnus we will release a LP with great artists (such as Cassegrain,Ness, Svreca, Mike Parker, Alan Backdrop, Orphx, Cio d'Or and Edit Select) remixing our works from the past year. This will be released in January and in the following months I already have three solo releases confirmed and some remixes. Also I am very excited about starting to work on a live set, I know this won't be easy and will take some time but it's an objective I have fixed as a goal for 2015. 4. Any words to the people out there mesmerized by your sound? No I'll just take the chance to say THANK YOU to everyone who is supporting what I am doing, I would have never expected my first two releases to go out of stock that fast and I am very grateful for this. http://outis-music.com/artists/luigi-tozzi Artwork: (esa.int) True-colour image of Mars seen by OSIRIS Tracklist: 1)Sigha - Suspension 2)Claudio PRC - Echoes 3)Yuka - Umrao is Waiting 4)Voices From The Lake - Drop1 5)Refracted - Enlightenment 6)Voices From The Lake - Drop2 7)Luigi Tozzi - Chemosynthesis (Claudio PRC remix) 8)Etapp Kyle - Empty Mind 9)Donato Dozzy - Sotto ma Sotto 10)Evigt Morker - Nixa 11)Eastern Renaissance - 42°19'53 N 12)SS/S Siglo2 13)Blind Observatory - Beneath A Steel Sky 14)Silent Servant - Invocation of Lust 15)Abdulla Rashim - Asayita 1 16)TM404 202/303/303/303/808 (Svreca Remix) 17)Abdulla Rashim - Semien Terara 1 18)Edit Select - The Passing 19)Edit Select - Phlox Intro
Hello techno brothers and sisters. Its always good to be back with yet another underground episode, digged out from the deep . For this week we got in touch with Antonio Vázquez, a Dj and producer from Sevilla (Spain), based in Berlin. Antonio has been playing and producing different styles since 1998, but from 2011 he has been focusing on the deeper side of what we love the most: techno. Other than making good productions, hes been playing at some legendary places: Berghain, Tresor, ://about blank, Komme (Manchester), psuescho_club, BRU/T, Research and more. We can also mention that he lately has been joining forces with the Hypnus label which is worth checking out. Well then, what else to do than to fill your room with some proper techno ! We are extremely proud of presenting Deepbass, a talented producer and DJ from Glasgow, Scotland. After being fans of his deep, hypnotic and atmospherical techno for years we finally got him featured on Monument. For us, Deepbass is one of those producers that creates a new and unique sound to the techno scene. He has a futuristic vibe over his tracks and DJ sets. A kind of sound you just fall into, like a dream, or like you are in space.. So push play and join us into this one hour journey of proper techno. Don't forget to follow Monument for more techno, art, and upcoming events! Q/A: 1. We love your deep and atmospherical sound. Why do you choose to create techno in this way? What is the message? This sound for me is not something I chose, I always had an element of this sound when working in the studio. Just something about the rolling hypnotic ambient infused sounds that I love. I feel this music is all about the atmosphere and every track takes you on a journey and tells it's own story. 2. What kind of DJ gig do you like the most? (and yea... how was berghain?) Usually I prefer smaller intimate venues where you have a close connection with the crowd, always helps if its a dark and dirty space. Berghain was amazing, playing was everything I hoped and more, its true what they say there is a really special feeling in that place. 3. Whats coming up for 2014? Both for you and informa records Got some cool stuff coming , The new Deepbass & Ness release on Dynamic Reflection Digital release of my Sequence EP on Edit Select Records Informa Experiments Volume 2 is going to press A remix on the awesome new deep techno label Hypnus Some stuff to release on various labels from a very successful week in the studio with nAX_Acid and finally INFORMA008 is currently in production which will feature myself and another cool artist who I have been following a lot lately but prefer not to disclose just yet. 4. Any extra words? You can catch me play live this month at ENTER. In Space, Ibiza in the ENTER.Mind room 10/07 Followed by Batofar, Paris where I'll be playing alongside Par Grindvik 11/07 Artwork: NASA
Hello followers, we are back after traveling and spending some time in mystical India. Our guest for today is BLNDR(@blndr) from France. This week’s episode is a mystical performance by our friend from across the borders. Don’t hesitate to let your mind drift away with the music. ¤¤¤¤Q&A¤¤¤¤ Monument: How did your interest in techno music come about? BLNDR: I started listening to electronic music in 2007 when "Justice" first album "cross" came out . It was a revelation that made my interest in electronic music grow! Then I started listening to larger genre such as techno and house. My interest in techno really came out when I discovered Underground resistance's Nation 2 Nation EP. M: Give us a briefing about the labels that you are on (Container and Hypnus records) B: Container & Hypnus are two realy different things . Container is a collective that gather techno lovers, producers, graphic designers and party organizers. With that team we are able organize our own techno parties in Paris and it’s suburbs! Hypnus is the label where i will release my first EP really soon! It is a Swedish label that shows an interest in deep hypnotic techno. I am really proud to be part of the Hypnus team. Lots of talents... and a great boss :) M: What inspires you musically? B: I am really inspired by the Industrial vibe you can find on the techno scene today. Metallic Dark & cold tracks... With also strong inspiration from the Dub, acid, deep & mental techno. But when it comes to DJing i sometimes like to play really hard sest with fast BPM. Classic Rave Acid tracks mixed with recent techno artists such as Truncate, Psyk or Luke Slater. M: Give us your take on the techno scene today B: The Techno scene today is really inspiring for me... so many great producers & labels. I'd say my top five label of the moment are: Mote Evolver, Prologue, Sandwell district, Stroboscopic artefact & Avian. M: What is your favorite record of all time? B: Quite difficult question... It might be "The Campfire headphase" by Board of Canada... Enjoy!
