Reliance is making its boldest leap yet into artificial intelligence. Backed by gigawatt-scale data centres, alliances with global giants like Nvidia, Google and Meta, and the unmatched power of data from 450 million Jio users, Mukesh Ambani wants to position India as an AI builder, not just a consumer. In this episode of The Morning Brief, host Anirban Chowdhury is joined by Neil Shah, co-founder of Counterpoint Research, and ET’s AI expert Himanshi Lohchab to decode what “Reliance Intelligence” really means. Can Ambani turn this vision into reality and build AI “for everyone, everywhere”? We dive into Reliance’s grand plans for cloud infrastructure, affordable AI services for small businesses, vernacular voice assistants, enterprise solutions, and even smart-city applications. Can India produce enough AI talent to power this ambition? Will execution challenges and global competition from AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud derail the vision? Or could this finally give India its own AI infrastructure and a credible homegrown alternative to U.S. tech giants? You can follow Anirban Chowdhury on his social media: Twitter and LinkedinListen to Corner Office Conversation our new show:: Corner Office Conversation with Pawan Goenka, Chairman, IN-SPACe, Corner Office Conversation with The New Leaders of Indian Pharma and much more. India’s semiconductor dream is taking shape in Assam, where Tata Electronics is building a ₹27,000 crore chip assembly and testing facility. But this high-tech mission has run into a very unusual roadblock: wild elephants and snakes. In this episode of The Morning Brief, host Anirban Chowdhury speaks with ET’s Dia Rekhi joined by noted veterinarian popularly known as the 'Elephant Man of Asia' Dr. K.K. Sarma, to unpack the clash between cutting-edge technology and nature. From elephant herds that can cause damaging ground vibrations, to snakes that spooked construction workers, the story reveals how Tata is building elephant-proof walls and even employing snake rescuers to keep the project on track. The conversation also zooms out to a larger question: how do industries balance mega-investments in technology with the ecological realities of the land they’re built on? With anecdotes of animals disrupting industries worldwide from moths in computers to monkeys causing blackouts, this episode examines why India’s semiconductor mission must be not only technologically advanced but also ecologically future-proof.You can follow Anirban Chowdhury on his social media: Twitter and LinkedinListen to Corner Office Conversation our new show:: Corner Office Conversation with Pawan Goenka, Chairman, IN-SPACe, Corner Office Conversation with The New Leaders of Indian Pharma and much more. Nepal’s GenZ has torched, overthrown and reformed its government. On September 9, tens of thousands of young Nepalis poured into the streets. What began as a protest against a social media ban spiraled into the country’s biggest uprising in decades. Parliament was stormed, buildings burned, and Prime Minister K.P. Oli was forced to resign. On Friday, the youth’s candidate of choice Sushila Karki took oath as the interim prime minister. At the heart of this revolution: a generation fed up with corruption, elite privilege, and years of political mismanagement. In this episode of The Morning Brief, host Anirban Chowdhury traces how Nepal got here and what comes next. With insights from Professor Jeevan Sharma of the University of Edinburgh and Ashish Pradhan of International Crisis Group to voices from Kathmandu’s Gen Z movement, we explore how TikTok memes, “nepo kids,” and deep frustration over inequality turned into a powerful street movement. We look at Nepal’s political instability, its fragile economy propped up by remittances, and the global parallels from Sri Lanka’s collapse to Bangladesh’s student protests and even France’s “Block Everything” movement. What If the CIA and Weyland-Yutani Merged? (Spoiler: Everyone Dies) This week on the podcast, Alien: Earth Episode 5 and Episodes 3 & 4 of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf reviews. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Alien Earth: The Terminal List: Alien: Earth (FX/Hulu) Episode 5 – “In Space, No One…” Summary: A flashback shows the events that occurred on the Maginot starting seventeen days before it reached Earth. Junior security officer Clem wakes Morrow from cryosleep and tells him there has been a fire in one of the containment rooms. Two facehuggers have escaped and latched upon ship’s captain Dinsdale and science officer Bronski. Dinsdale dies from the facehugger’s acid blood when medical officer Rahim attempts to cut the tail from his neck. After being told by engineer Shmuel that the ship’s navigational systems were also damaged in the fire, Morrow concludes that a crew member has sabotaged the ship. Executive officer Zaveri assumes command of the ship, but Morrow threatens to relieve her if she does not prioritize the creatures above the crew. Bronski is placed in cryo-sleep to prevent the gestation of the Xenomorph, but this fails. In science officer Chibuzo’s lab, one leech specimen manages to open its test tube from the inside, and lays its larvae in her water bottle. Witnessing this, the Ocellus also escapes after Chibuzo fails to seal its containment vessel. Apprentice engineer Malachite drinks the water, and the larvae kill him from the inside; Chibuzo and Rahim are also killed by their defensive toxic gas when trying to extract them. Witnessing this, Zavari is in shock and Morrow relieves her of command. After being interrogated by Morrow, navigator Teng is killed by the fully-grown Xenomorph. Chief engineer Petrovich is revealed to be behind the sabotage at the order of Boy Kavalier, who promises him a hybrid body if the ship crashes in Prodigy territory. Petrovich kills Clem and is in turn killed by Morrow, who retreats to the control room and seals himself in. Zaveri is killed by the Xenomorph outside the door. With everyone dead, Morrow locks himself in the panic room and awaits the crash. Back in the present, Morrow meets with Yutani, offering to retrieve the specimens by force and kill Kavalier. Writer/Director: Written and directed by Noah Hawley Cast Highlights: Richa Moorjani (Zaveri), Sandra Yi Sencindiver (Yutani), Amir Boutrous (Rahim), Karen Aldridge (Chibuzo), Michael Smiley (Shmuel), Jamie Bisping (Malachite), Andy Yu (Teng), Max Rinehart (Bronski), Enzo Cilenti (Petrovich), Tom Moya (Clem). Air Date & Stats: Aired September 2, 2025, on FX and FX on Hulu. Duration: 64 minutes. Viewership: ~0.361 million households; 0.10 rating (18–49 demo). Style & Reception: Critics lauded its homages to Ridley Scott's original Alien, elevated tension, and emotional depth. Called a “banger” and “standout” bottle episode. Out of 5 In Space, No One… Hears You in the Loving Embrace of a Facehugger Darryl: 4.15/5 Brian: 4.28/5 The Terminal List: Dark (Amazon Prime) Episode 3 – “What’s Past Is Prologue” Summary: Vahid and Cyrus Rahimi attend a conference on the Iranian nuclear agreement in Geneva, and later meet with Minister Yousef Saedi. Farooq, Landry, and another CIA officer, Ish Reinhart, join Haverford’s team. Danawi’s phone shows he received $5 million in cryptocurrency to deliver to Balaz Molnar, a nuclear physics professor in Budapest. Texts come through from another number identified as Thana Haddad. Farooq questions her and discovers she is Danawi’s estranged daughter, but can’t bring himself to follow orders to kill her. Varon agrees not to tell the others after he confesses that, as a teenager, his sisters were raped by Uday Hussein, but he later helped the Americans in eliminating him. Edwards and Perash bond, but he becomes more estranged from his wife stateside. Impersonating Danawi, Farooq meets with Molnar and purchases proof of concept for proprietary bearings he is selling to Iran, which will enable them to still enrich uranium with the smaller number of centrifuges mandated by the nuclear deal. A third-party team tail Farooq after the meeting until he is extracted by Landry, and one kills Reinhart. Edwards has Varon cut CCTV and guns the man down on the Budapest Metro, taking a photo for identification before being extracted himself. Writer & Director: Directed by Liz Friedlander, written by Naomi Iizuka and Max Adams. Cast Highlights: Taylor Kitsch (Ben Edwards), Tom Hopper (Raife Hastings), Chris Pratt (James Reece), Rona‑Lee Shimon (Eliza Perash), Dar Salim (Mo Farooq), Rashidz Tzarfati (Tal Varon), Robert Wisdom (Jed Haverford), among others. Air Date: Premiered August 27, 2025 alongside Episodes 1 & 2. Episode 4 – “The Sound of the Guns” Summary: Hastings is contacted by a former Selous Scouts associate of his father, who confirms Haverford manages a long-term asset in Tehran codenamed Shepherd. Minister Saedi thanks Cyrus for his clandestine work, but Vahid begins to question their actions of putting nuclear weapons in the hands of such men. The team relocates to Munich, discovering the third party is the nuclear proliferation Khalid Network, working to move the bearings into Iran before the nuclear deal is finalised. Haverford plans to intercept the convoy in Geneva and swap Molnar's bearings for fakes, rendering Iran's new facility useless. He assures a suspicious Hastings that Shepherd’s intel is legitimate. Edwards and Perash kiss whilst scouting a location. Varon secures the fake bearings from Mossad agent Mordechai Ofer. Hastings becomes concerned about collateral damage with the convoy ambush plan and Edwards’ change in attitude. Edwards argues their current posting allows them to take real action compared to serving under military red tape. Haverford kills Molnar. Impersonating Austrian Federal Police, the team attacks the Khalid Network convoy and obtains the bearings, but are met by a large team of shooters on exfil. Farooq is injured and extracted by Landry. The Israelis betray the team, hacking Haverford's phone and stealing the bearings after incapacitating Edwards. Writer & Director: Directed by Liz Friedlander, written by Kenny Sheard. Air Date: Dropped September 3, 2025. Three years after the Ukraine war began, India has become one of Russia’s largest oil customers. From negligible imports before 2022, Russian crude now accounts for nearly a third of India’s oil basket delivering big savings for refiners and keeping fuel prices steady at home. But these benefits come with rising diplomatic costs, including pressure from Washington, the threat of higher tariffs, and accusations that India is profiteering by exporting refined Russian crude back to Western markets. Host Anirban Chowdhury is joined by energy markets expert Vandana Hari and Nandan Unnikrishnan, Head of Euraisan Studies, Observer Research Foundation. Together, they examine how much Indian refiners truly gain from Russian discounts, whether those margins are sustainable as sanctions tighten, what risks loom over India’s US trade ambitions, and how long New Delhi can balance its need for cheap energy with its strategic partnerships in the West. You can follow Anirban Chowdhury on his social media: Twitter and Linkedin Listen to Corner Office Conversation our new show:: Corner Office Conversation with Pawan Goenka, Chairman, IN-SPACe, Corner Office Conversation with The New Leaders of Indian Pharma and much more. Dive into the dystopian depths of Alien: Earth, the audacious FX/Hulu sci-fi horror series from Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion), set in 2120—two years before the events of the original Alien film. India’s Online Gaming law, 2025 has jolted the country’s fast-growing gaming industry. Host Anirban Chowdhury speaks with Vidushpat Singhania, managing partner at Krida legal and Rohit Agarwal, Founder - AlphaZegus Marketing to unpack the battles now unfolding, questions of state versus central authority, the unresolved debate of skill versus chance, and whether prohibition will truly safeguard users or simply drive betting underground. The fallout is already visible. Big-ticket sponsorships have been cancelled, major platforms have shut down operations, and creators who once thrived on gaming promotions are seeing sharp cuts in income. As courts weigh in and companies scramble to adapt, the future of gaming in India remains uncertain. Ever wonder what it's like to be part of rock history? Our latest LaunchLeft episode pulls back the curtain on Big Star's legacy. Rain Phoenix hosts an illuminating conversation with Jody Stephens, drummer of the legendary band Big Star. The discussion delves into Jody's early musical influences in Memphis, his experiences with Big Star, and the band's enduring legacy. Jody shares insights about recording at Ardent Studios and working with John Fry, offering a glimpse into the creation of Big Star's iconic sound.  Jody then launches Luther Russell. They discuss their collaboration in their band Those Pretty Wrongs, exploring their songwriting process and creative dynamic. Luther provides additional perspective on their partnership and his own musical journey. The episode also touches on Jody's recent induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame and Luther's latest solo album. Throughout, the conversation highlights the importance of maintaining a joyful, pressure-free approach to creativity in music. IN THIS EPISODE:  (00:00) Introducing Jody Stevens of Big Star (05:21) Jody’s early musical influences in Memphis (09:06) Rain on discovering Big Star in Costa Rica (15:22) John Fry's influence on Big Star's iconic sound (24:17) Working at Ardent Studios after Big Star (31:49) Changes in the music industry over time (47:50) Luther Russell is launched (49:17) Collaborative songwriting process for the band (56:32) Recording at Abbey Road with John Leckie (59:52) Luther Russell's new solo album Happiness for Beginners (1:02:39) Upcoming shows and future recording plans KEY TAKEAWAYS:  Music creation should be a joyful, pressure-free process. By focusing on having fun and avoiding self-imposed stress, artists can collaborate effectively long-distance and produce multiple albums together. This approach has allowed creativity to flow naturally. The music industry has changed dramatically, but there are still "gatekeepers" in new forms. While technology has democratized distribution, the sheer volume of content makes it challenging to break through. Having a passionate fanbase who will share your music remains crucial. Revisiting and performing older material can lead to unexpected new creative partnerships. What started as playing some shows together to support a documentary evolved into a fruitful songwriting collaboration and multiple albums. Being open to these opportunities can take your career in exciting new directions. RESOURCE LINKS:  LaunchLeft Podcast Smart Link JODY STEPHENS BIO: Jody Stephens (born October 4, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American drummer best known as a founding member of the influential power pop band Big Star. Formed in 1971, Big Star’s original lineup included Alex Chilton, Chris Bell, Andy Hummel, and Stephens. The band released three albums—#1 Record (1972), Radio City (1974), and Third/Sister Lovers (recorded in 1974, released in 1978)—which, despite initial commercial struggles, later garnered critical acclaim and influenced numerous artists . In 1993, he participated in a reformation of the band alongside Chilton and members of The Posies, resulting in the 2005 album In Space.  Beyond Big Star, Stephens has collaborated with various groups. He joined the alt-country supergroup Golden Smog (with Jeff Tweedy of Wilco), contributing to albums like Weird Tales (1998) and Another Fine Day (2006) . In 2015, he formed Those Pretty Wrongs with Luther Russell, releasing their self-titled debut in 2016, followed by Zed for Zulu (2019) and Holiday Camp (2023) . Stephens has also been a longtime fixture at Ardent Studios in Memphis, where Big Star recorded their albums. He joined the Ardent staff in 1987 and has served as Vice President of Production am— and other titles, working under founder John Fry (who died in 2014 at age 69). Under his tenure, Ardent has continued to be a vital recording venue for artists across genres.  Today, Jody Stephens remains active in music, performing, recording, and contributing to the legacy of Big Star and Ardent Studios (he still works at Ardent). He is the last surviving member of Big Star’s original lineup, but still plays the music with the Big Star Quartet at shows across the world.

Recent policy reforms - including liberalized FDI caps, the launch of IN-SPACe as a commercial regulator, and the Indian Space Policy 2023 - are opening doors for private enterprise and international investment. At the same time, Indian companies are stepping into global supply chains, developing satellite constellations, launch vehicles, and Earth observation capabilities that are redefining India's position in the global space economy. Yet, foreign participation still requires careful navigation of regulatory, legal, and strategic frameworks shaped by India's evolving priorities.

A group of space marines are tasked with taking down the leprechaun in outer space, while he's attempting to romance a princess more interested in his gold. Leprechaun 4: In Space is possibly the wildest Leprechaun movie yet. The leprechaun is now in space and this idea brings more questions than are ever answered in the movie. While this movie brings together the craziest set of characters and storylines, it diminishes the focus on the leprechaun's gold, which leaves the movie unfulfilled. It is very entertaining, but senseless in almost every way, which is a familiar feeling when it comes to these films. Ok fiends, it's almost St. Patrick's day so this month we're recapping the 1993 classic (and this one really is a classic) Leprechaun! This Episode is one that our patrons have had access to since 2021 and we are now very excited to make it available to everyone. We did record a new 30 Minute Horror Movie on Leprechaun 4: In Space and you can find it over on our Patreon!  Back to this episode on the very first Leprechaun - The film features a very young Jennifer Anniston, the guy that played Francis in Pee Wee's Big Adventure, and Warwick Davis (the hardest working little person in show business) in a horrible mask. Leprechaun takes us on an insane journey that asks the question "what would happen if we made leprechauns awful?" quite a lot, as it turns out. This film was surprisingly funny, whether it meant to be so or not is up for interpretation. Either way, it's great, crazy, seasonal fun and we recommend you give it a watch after listening to us yell about it in a real hurry. 'Leprechaun 4: In Space.' has a ridiculous plot, terrible CGI, and over-the-top performances that make this fourth installment in the Leprechaun series a memorable, albeit flawed, film. From the unexpected genesis of the movie inspired by an Apollo 13 poster to the bizarre antics of the leprechaun IN SPACE, we cover the highs, lows, and the infamous Mitten Spider transformation. Hear for yourself what we thought of the second film in our "in space" series this month!

2 Guys And A Chainsaw

This month's theme: Horror franchises "In SPACE". As we reminisce about the origins of the Critters franchise, comparing it to its contemporaries like Gremlins and Ghoulies, we also puzzle over this entry's plot, performances, and oddly serious tone. Why is Terrence Mann's character suddenly a jerk? And where the f*ck did all the critters go? Listen as we highlight standout performances from surprising actors like Brad Dourif and Angela Bassett (?!) in this low-budget sequel. Despite its shortcomings, we hope you find this a hilarious and engaging review perfect for fans of horror franchises that go TO SPACE!
