Raullen believes that economic incentives and IoTeX's MachineFi could be the missing link for IoT to take off. The podcast begins with Ryan and Raullen discussing what MachineFi is and the need and viability of decentralized IoT. They then talk about blockchains and what to do with people cheating the system and what data to store on or off-chain. The podcast concludes with three things we can expect to see from IoTeX in the next six to twelve months.Raullen Chai received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2012, where his research focused on cryptography, privacy, and authentication protocols for IoT devices. In 2013, Raullen joined Google as a Sr. Software Engineer and led high-profile security initiatives for Google's technical infrastructure, including the Google Cloud Load Balancer (GCLB), of which he was a founding engineer. In 2016, Raullen joined Uber as the Head of Cryptography R&D, leading the development of several projects, including credential management, authentication, and in-house cryptographic tools. In 2017, Raullen co-founded IoTeX to create a trusted blockchain infrastructure optimized for the Internet of Things (IoT) to ensure humans and machines can interact with full trust and transparency.
Als heutigen Gast begrüßen wir Harald Zapp, CEO und Gründer von Next Big Thing. In this special episode, Principal Program Manager, Chris Segura, and Forbes Tech Council member, Mike Walker, talk about what they see as the top blockchain trends for 2020 and what they are hearing from companies deploying solutions.Trend 1: Practical Blockchain EmergesBlockchain is being leveraged in practical use cases today and are expanding in scope and scale over the next three to five years. This also means creating fit for purpose implementations of blockchain. In some cases breaking norms of permissionless blockchains to shift to permissioned blockchains.According to the 2019 Gartner CIO Survey, 60% of CIOs expect some kind of blockchain deployment in the next three years. This is also combined with blockchain will be scalable technically, and will support trusted private transactions with the necessary data confidentiality. Trend 2: Convergence of the Trinity of Digitization (Blockchain + AI + IoT)Blockchain on its own can provide limited value. Focus on the business solutions where blockchain will provide digital differentiation. Leveraging IoT to reach into the physical and analog world, and AI to provide the orchestration and intelligence to data is a symbioticTrend 3: Shift to Digital EcosystemsAs blockchain becomes a critical part of an organizations digital business transformation journey, blockchain is increasingly used as a critical enabler of digital ecosystems. This is sometimes referred to also as blockchain consortiums. However, digital ecosystems are much more than a consortium.Links: GE Aviation StoryRelated Links:Azure Blockchain SolutionsAzure Blockchain ServiceAzure Blockchain WorkbenchAzure Free TrialAzure Blockchain Dev KitAzure Blockchain DocumentationFollow @CH9 Follow @MSFTBlockchain
