This episode features Mike Zaccheo and Angie Sparks diving deep into the world of credit card statement credits and how to maximize them. The episode begins with a highlight post from member Karen, who detailed her inspiring solo round-the-world trip at age 60, showing how miles, points, and determination can unlock life-changing travel. In news, the hosts cover Flying Blue's November Promo Rewards offering discounted redemptions from North America to Europe, a 20% Capital One transfer bonus to British Airways, Wells Fargo adding JetBlue as a transfer partner, and a major announcement that Rove Miles will soon support Lufthansa's Miles & More—its first European transfer option.Angie shares her latest booking spree, spending 1.3 million points to plan a Switzerland and Istanbul trip, while Mike talks about arranging a Key West getaway for family. They also discuss their travel plans for Chicago Seminars weekend. The main topic focuses on using all available card credits—daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual—across popular cards like the Amex Platinum, Amex Gold, Hilton Aspire, and Chase Sapphire Reserve. My guest today is Luca Ferrari. Luca is the co-founder and CEO of Bending Spoons, which he describes as 25 percent private equity and 75 percent technology company. Founded in 2013, Bending Spoons fully acquires and operates digital companies like Evernote, Meetup, Vimeo, and most recently AOL. Our conversation explores the unique model behind Bending Spoons, and the culture required to scale it. Luca shares exactly how their acquisition playbook works – from identifying promising businesses to rebuilding every part of them across product, design, monetization, and marketing. We discuss their approach to financing long-term ownership through both debt and equity, Luca's obsession with finding and developing exceptional talent, and his decision to build the company in Europe. I found Luca's description of himself as perennially unhappy to be the clearest window into how he builds. It's a mindset that fuels his pursuit of excellence and defines the culture at Bending Spoons. Please enjoy my conversation with Luca Ferrari. Send a question for 'Ask Megan'Hey Podcasters! At Buzzsprout, most of our collaboration happens through screens. Messages, calls, and pull requests keep everything moving, but once a year, we step away from our desks and meet face-to-face.This year, we gathered in Tampa, Florida so our fully remote team could reconnect, build trust, and spend time together. Here's a look behind the scenes at our week!Kicking Things OffWe started in Ybor City, where our digital avatars turned back into real people. We hosted a Buzzsprout Podcaster Meetup at Oxford Exchange!Meeting local podcasters was a highlight! Hearing their stories and seeing their excitement reminded us that behind every show are real people using Buzzsprout to share their voices with the world.Serving and BuildingWednesday morning, we cooked lunch for families at the Ronald McDonald House. It was a small way to serve the community, a chance to work together in a new way, and a time to reflect on how fortunate we are. That afternoon, we gathered for a Buzzsprout positioning workshop to brainstorm how we can better support podcasters and keep creativity alive. These are the kinds of conversations that come to life when we're in the same room.We left with fresh ideas, and we're excited for you to see the results over the next few months.A Grateful Look BackThursday blended reflection and celebration! We kicked off with our State of the Product, sharing wins, challenges, and lessons from the past year. One theme stood out: meaningful progress built through teamwork. There was plenty of fun, too! Our team enjoyed a Tampa Bay Lightning game, friendly competition at PopStroke, and lots of great food. Our time in Tampa wasn't time away from work; it was time that makes the work better. The relationships we build in person shape how we collaborate, solve problems, and support podcasters all year long. Our co-founder, Kevin Finn, recapped the week on the Buzzsprout blog and shared more about why we continue investing in time together!Read Blog PostHere's to showing up, together, and helping podcasters everywhere Keep Podcasting!Have a question for Megan? Welcome back to the Create With podcast! In this episode, Kieran joins us live from Amsterdam after hosting our first-ever Create With AI meetup in the Netherlands. This one's packed with inspiring stories of people building profitable apps from "boring" industries - including someone who quit their corporate job after their employer became their first customer! What We Cover:Amsterdam Meetup Highlights:- Maarten Munster's journey: Building a SaaS while working corporate, getting his employer as first customer, then quitting to run it full-time with 30 customers- Why parking exemptions in the Netherlands became a profitable niche with zero competition- Diederik Martens on automation philosophy: When to automate, when to keep humans in the loop- Meeting people from hospitality, teaching, and other "non-tech" industries discovering AI for the first timeThe Hidden Opportunity in Your Day Job:- Why the hotel industry (and other "boring" sectors) are goldmines for app ideas- Lisa's planning app story: Zero technical background, took out a business loan, now has 30-40 local authorities as customers- The NHS staff roster tool built in 30 minutes with Lovable that's going regional- Why hanging around in tech circles actually limits your opportunitiesLinkedIn Outreach That Actually Works:- Using Prosp.ai for automated but authentic connection requests- Why LinkedIn outreach beats cold email (no domain warming, no blacklists)- Getting two sales calls booked while driving across the country- The irony: Are we all just bots talking to each other now?The Reality of Vibe Coding:- What seasoned developers really think about AI coding tools- Why prototypes are easy but production apps still need understanding- The winning combo: Bubble for UI + vibe-coded Cloudflare services for specific tasks- ChatGPT Atlas browser using Claude (yes, really!) - first impressionsTimestamps:0:00 Introduction from Amsterdam0:43 Amsterdam meetup recap & inspiring attendee stories2:57 Martin's parking exemptions SaaS: 30 customers = freedom4:07 Why your "boring" job is actually perfect for spotting opportunities5:06 The hotel industry attendee's untapped potential7:29 The NHS staff roster tool going regional (built in 30 mins!)9:35 Dentists & construction workers building their own apps11:26 Lisa's planning app journey: No tech background, just determination13:33 Typoro V2 & removing the paywall16:11 LinkedIn outreach strategy & why it works18:50 How to find your target customers on LinkedIn21:14 Building AI-powered widgets with ChatGPT23:23 When vibe coding works (and when it doesn't)25:32 Experienced developers' honest take on AI coding limitations27:52 The Bubble + Cloudflare services model33:42 ChatGPT Atlas browser early impressions36:17 Final advice: Ship something small this weekKey Takeaway:Don't feel stuck because you're not "in tech" - your industry experience is actually your superpower.

This week, Mike Zaccheo and moderator Justin Walter dive deep into Delta SkyMiles after highlighting an inspiring post from Karen, a solo traveler in her 60s who completed a 3-week, around-the-world business- and first-class trip using 326K AA and Virgin miles plus $8.2K in cash for a journey valued at ~$22K. Her itinerary spanned NYC, Tel Aviv, Paris, Tokyo, and Phoenix, with smooth connections, Hyatt stays on points, and carry-on-only travel. She earned 38K miles back and proved that with planning, persistence, and a good points strategy, major bucket-list trips are possible at any age.In the news, Citi launched the new AAdvantage Globe Mastercard, while Hyatt refreshed its personal card offer . JetBlue announced Mosaic status changes for 2026—more benefits for top elites but fewer perks for lower tiers—while SkyTeam expanded lounge access to 70+ domestic lounges, excluding Delta's own Elite Plus members. The main topic explored how Delta SkyMiles has evolved into a dynamic, spend-based loyalty program where Amex partnerships play a key role. Although miles never expire, the lack of an award chart creates unpredictable pricing, making partner bookings (Air France, Virgin Atlantic) and flash sales the best value opportunities. The hosts discussed Delta's Medallion tiers, MQD rules, and the shifting role of Sky Clubs as Amex access limits tighten, noting that Delta increasingly positions itself as a “premium brand.” Their advice: always compare award prices across partner programs before redeeming and also evaluate miles vs cash prices.Links To Topics DiscussedNew Citi AAdvantage Globe CardHyatt Credit Card Offer with Double Elite NightsJetBlue Elite Status ChangesSkyTeam Elite Lounge Access ChangesWhere to Find Us The Award Travel 101 Facebook Community. In this episode of POD256, we go deep on open-source Bitcoin mining with live updates from TabConf. We kick off with some tax-day banter and quickly shift into the real meat: the imminent release of Mujina; an open-source, Rust-based, modular mining firmware designed for flexibility (think hot-swappable hashboards, per-chip capability-aware work assignment, and embedded Linux distro ambitions). We discuss the Ember One hashboard iterations, pragmatic scope control, and why a community-driven, iterative approach matters. Then we dive into HydraPool, our open-source, one-click, low-friction Stratum v1 pool initiative: why we moved from a CKPool fork to a fresh Rust stratum server, PPLNS design trade offs, verifiable share accounting via API streams, and breaking legacy limitations like coinbase output caps imposed by vendor firmware. From the floor at TabConf, Skot and AverageGary join to showcase Stratum v2 progress packaged for Start9, NAT traversal via hole-punching (Iroh), and the vision that every meetup can host its own pool. We explore encrypted, binary Stratum v2; coinbase privacy; integrating Rust tooling (BDK/LDK/ASIC-RS); and practical features like dummy work for heat reuse and load management. We compare payout mechanics (Ocean, Datum/TIDES, DMND SliceJD with job-declared fees), custody nuances, and eCash/eHash concepts for flexible, local pool accounting. We wrap with real-world updates: home-assistant-driven solar-aware mining control, shout-outs to our hasher community, Telehash plans, and why smaller, faster nodes and decentralized pools will birth more economic nodes. It's a dense, nerdy, forward-looking tour of the open mining stack becoming reality.

In this podcast, psychotherapist Ross Rosenberg addresses the challenge of making friends after age 40, especially following a divorce or major life change. He explains that while it can be difficult, it is entirely possible by focusing on key mental and social strategies. The most critical factor is cultivating a positive, self-loving mindset, as anxiety and negativity can become self-fulfilling prophecies. Rosenberg provides practical advice: be genuinely interested in others by asking questions, maintain relaxed body language and eye contact, and avoid negativity, bragging, or using substances as a social crutch. He strongly recommends using platforms like Meetup.com to find communities based on shared interests and emphasizes that building genuine friendships takes time and patience, encouraging viewers to believe in themselves and their own worth. For an eight-page article Ross wrote on the subject: https://bit.ly/Friendships_By-DesignRoss Rosenberg, author and CEO of the Self-Love Recovery Institute, announces a new, more accessible fee structure for psychotherapy sessions due to economic challenges.
