Welcome to AI Lawyer Talking Tech. The legal landscape is currently experiencing a period of rapid transformation driven by the evolution of artificial intelligence. While AI holds significant promise for increasing efficiency in legal practice, adjudication, and enforcement, its swift adoption also presents notable challenges. We are witnessing the deployment of AI-powered tools for a variety of tasks, ranging from drafting documents and answering legal questions to managing compliance and assisting with transactions. There is even discussion around the potential for AI-only legal firms. However, the speed of this technological shift has, in some areas, outpaced the establishment of robust ethical guardrails. This raises important concerns about issues such as erroneous outputs like flawed citations, the potential for bias, and the risk that algorithmic decision-making could exacerbate existing inequalities or perpetuate unjust outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations. Furthermore, the value proposition of legal technology is expanding beyond simple efficiency gains; it now encompasses the significant worth of the operational and legal data collected by these tools, which firms can leverage for strategic decisions like identifying at-risk clients or optimizing workflows. As the legal profession integrates AI more deeply, critical questions surrounding responsibility, accountability, and maintaining public trust in the legal system remain central. Join us as we delve into these vital developments shaping the future intersection of AI and the law.Anthropic's law firm throws Claude under the bus over citation errors in court filing15 May 2025TheRegister.comLawNext: Turning Legal Spend Into Performance: PERSUIT Founder Jim Delkousis On His Company's Acquisition of Apperio15 May 2025LawSitesArtificial Intelligence and the Law15 May 2025Berkman Klein CenterArtists are using a white-hot AI report as a weapon in Meta copyright case15 May 2025MashableLexisNexis' Practical Guidance Is Every Attorney's Essential Concierge15 May 2025Above The LawRegulation Complicating Hospice AI Implementation15 May 2025Hospice NewsLegal Resilience Needs Disruption: Building a Playbook for 2025 and Beyond15 May 2025AxiomLaw.comNews A decade-long ban on AI laws is a “terrible idea” for everyone but big tech, critics claim15 May 2025ITPro.comThe Right Way to Use AI for Authentic, Human-Centered Law Firm Content15 May 2025Articles, Tips and Tech for Law Firms and LawyersGoodbye Support Boomers, Hello AI….?15 May 2025Artificial LawyerHow AI Is Reshaping Law Firms and the Practice of Law15 May 2025Lawyer MonthlyNew Global AI Laws Are Coming. The Michael Yardney Podcast | Property Investment, Success & Money
After all these years in property, I'm still surprised at how some investors decide which property to buy, however it doesn't really surprise me why so many don't get past their first or second property. You see… many buy for emotional reasons, and while others think they're investing in property, for some, they're really speculating. In today's show episode, I discuss common mistakes in property investment with Brett Warren, focusing on the dangers of hot-spotting. We emphasise the importance of long-term strategies, economic fundamentals, and the need for a solid investment plan. Our conversation highlights the risks of following trends and the necessity of understanding market dynamics to build a sustainable property portfolio. Takeaways Investing in hotspots is often a form of speculation. Long-term strategies are essential for successful property investment. Economic fundamentals drive property value growth. Owner-occupiers play a crucial role in the property market. Avoid following the crowd; focus on informed decisions. A solid investment plan is necessary for long-term success. Understanding market dynamics is key to navigating risks. Investing should be based on facts, not opinions. The media often overlooks critical insights about property investing. For this episode we're joined all the way from Harlem in New York City by venerable hip hop writer Havelock Nelson. The first rap editor at industry bible Billboard talks about his early years in his birthplace Guyana and his love of marching bands in the country's capital Georgetown. From there we hear about his family's move to Brooklyn in 1973 and his early exposure to rap and breakbeat tapes in high school. Havelock recalls the pioneering hip hop fanzines Word Up! and Black Beat – plus the seminal rap writings of Greg Tate and Nelson George – before recounting his experiences as a columnist on Billboard. He also explains the genesis of Bring the Noise, the 1991 "guide to rap music and hip-hop culture" he co-authored with fellow RBP contributor Michael A. Gonzales. Mention of our guest's 1994 interview with the Notorious B.I.G. takes us into discussion of the synergy between hip hop's rising stars and rap media such as The Source magazine. Havelock also reflects on memorable interviews he did with the likes of KRS-One, Slick Rick, LL Cool J and Salt-N-Pepa. The latter duo takes us into audio clips from an audio interview with a Virginia-born artist who was profoundly influenced by them: the one and only Missy Elliott, speaking to Sara Scribner after the release of 1997's debut album Supa Dupa Fly... followed by the voices of her collaborators Timbaland and Magoo. The publication of Taschen's monumental new 75 Years of Atlantic Records prompts reflections on the legendary label co-founded by the late Ahmet Ertegun, plus our thoughts on the present-day roster that includes Charli XCX, Bruno Mars, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran. The episode concludes with quotes from newly-added library pieces about artists such as Wee Willie Harris, Jeff Barry & Ellie Greenwich, the Pharcyde and André 3000. Many thanks to special guest Havelock Nelson. Find his writing on Rock's Backpages and join his Going Way Back group on Facebook. In this episode, I sit down with Eran Barak, the CEO of Midnight, a groundbreaking new privacy-focused blockchain incubated by IOHK (Input Output, the team behind Cardano). Eran has an incredible background—before diving into Web3, he built the financial world's digital plumbing at Symphony, a secure communications platform used by thousands of banks and institutions. Now, he's bringing privacy and selective disclosure to blockchain, solving one of the biggest hurdles in getting businesses to adopt the technology. We dive deep into:Why privacy isn't just a buzzword, but a necessity for blockchain to go mainstreamThe problem with public blockchains and how metadata leaks can be dangerousHow Midnight is using zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) to protect data while keeping it usableThe rise of AI and why your private data is the next target for machine learning modelsWhy traditional finance players are still struggling to adopt Web3—and what needs to changeIf you're interested in the intersection of AI, privacy, and blockchain, this is an episode that will blow your mind and show you where the industry is really headed.Key Takeaways:✅ Blockchain can't go mainstream without solving privacy, but regulators still resist full anonymity.✅ The Midnight blockchain introduces a dual-token system to balance compliance and privacy.✅ Zero-knowledge proofs allow selective disclosure, meaning your data remains private while still proving facts about it.✅ AI is the next frontier—your personal data is already public, but blockchain can help protect what's left.✅ Traditional finance still relies on outdated infrastructure, but Web3 can offer a better, more secure alternative.Listen & Subscribe:

There hasn't been a single fragrance brand that has cracked the code on creating a fragrance that is 100% botanical, has zero synthetics, uses non- denatured alcohol AND smells like a truly fine fragrance with all it's complexities (until now!). One or two have gotten close, but consumers complain they smell too strongly of layered essential oils and not enough like the perfumes they miss. Don't get me wrong, I wear essential oils all day and love them. But I missed having a perfume to love. The other thing is that most of them are still using petroleum derived additives in their denatured alcohol. When my friend Gaya, the visionary CEO behind Wyld Notes, approached me about ingredients for the this new 100% synthetic free fragrance line, I honestly didn't realize just how difficult it would be to create something that was 100% natural. This podcast is our story, the behind the scenes that takes you from the vision to the creation of Wyld Notes. (launching in March!). We expose why the "clean" fragrance movement isn't as clean as you think it is and why Wyld Notes is so different than anything else out there. In today's episode, we're chatting about: • Why synthetic fragrances are linked to migraines, skin reactions, and hormone disruption • How Wyld Notes sources ingredients from regenerative farms • The truth about denatured alcohol in perfumes • Why traditional fragrance houses resist going 100% natural • How to layer botanical perfumes for a unique signature scentSee my clean fragrance reviewRead the shownotesWatch the interview on You TubeAbout Wyld NotesLaunching Mid March!Visit their website.Follow them on Instagram.Download the Top 25 Toxins to Avoid and become a label reading pro! “When we think about sustainable living, it's not just about electricity. Energy encompasses more than electricity. As we advocate for sustainability and net zero, let's not forget the heating and cooling of our homes, businesses, and industries - geothermal is a direct resource for that.” Dr. Marit Brommer on Electric Ladies Podcast Drilling for geothermal energy - the heat beneath our feet - promises to be one of the most sustainable sources of energy and a game changer for the clean energy transition. One of the biggest opportunities lies right here in the U.S., where we have the largest installed capacity for geothermal electricity generation. Reflecting the tremendous potential of this energy source, $31 million in funding was announced for geothermal energy projects in late-2024, subject to evolving federal funding guidelines. Listen to Dr. Marit Brommer, CEO of the International Geothermal Association (IGA) and a geologist and expert in geothermal energy. Prior to joining the IGA, she was an exploration and production technologist at Shell and Total Energy. You'll hear about: What geothermal energy is, its applications, and its potential to be a significant player in the transition to a net-zero emissions economy. Role of the International Geothermal Association in guiding the proper management of geothermal energy projects. Effective policies to support geothermal development are essential to overcome the initial financial and technical risks. Why the connection between geothermal energy and lithium production is an interesting proposition for the sector. Plus, career advice about claiming your space. "Get your voice heard, claim your seat at that table and understand that you don't take no for an answer. No man has ever asked me how to land his next job, get to the next career point, or do something professionally - but women do. “The point is, we women are ultimately raised to be nice. There's nothing wrong with being nice, but in your professional life, it's equally important to stand up, know your worth, not shy away from that, claim your seat, prepare, and network.” Dr. Marit Brommer on Electric Ladies Podcast Read Joan's Forbes piece on New IRA Funding Available For Geothermal Energy - Learning From Iceland and more articles here. On this episode of the Scouting For Growth podcast, Sabine VdL talks to Michael Lingelbach, CEO and co-founder of Hedra—a company that specializes in long-form generative video and agentic AI solutions. In just over a year, Michael and his team have seen explosive growth and raised backing from leading tech investors, including Index Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz. From marketing and social media campaigns to corporate training videos, Hedra’s technology is revolutionizing how we produce immersive, human-like content at scale. Michael and I discuss the power of agentic AI, the ethical dimensions of automated digital creation, and how he’s charting new paths for startups, enterprises, and content creators alike. KEY TAKEAWAYS We’re still very early in ‘generative media’. Stable Diffusion came out 2 years ago for images, video models have been maturing rapidly, but right now they’re focused on small fragments of content not cohesive brand storytelling. Building models that can not only generate compelling dialogue performances, and incorporate consistent identities and assets is a challenging research problem and something we’re pushing on. When people first think about generative AI they think about increasing the volume of content, but that typically isn’t a problem. The predominant concern of most marketers now is engagement. We live in a limited attention economy, so the focus now – in my opinion – is how to make really good content that’s going to hook people. For short-form content you’re usually trying to hook the viewer’s attention in the first 5-10 seconds as they’re scrolling through Tik Tok style feed. You want bright colours, a crazy character or a hook like “OMG you’re not going to believe what we’re going to talk about today!” With long-form content you’re optimising for retention. You still want the viewer to be engaged, but usually they want information or entertainment. We think the big opportunity is making it accessible for product/social marketing managers to have all this powerful technology to generate video and have a workflow were they’re working together with AI to make compelling content. That doesn’t require them to outsource to an external agency. We then get rapid feedback cycles rather than drawn out ones when you’re working with an external partner. BEST MOMENTS ‘We’re focused on bringing this technology from something that’s fun to play with to something that’s a strong part of an enterprise/brand marketing workflow.’ ‘Are you conveying information that makes the user feel like you’re conveying information that’s also usable for them? That’s the job of a content creator.’ ‘Video is the most natural form of communication; people have been talking to each other face-to-face for a long time!’ ‘Video is a massive market and it’s growing rapidly, it’s where most advertising, marketing information, learning and spending is shifting towards.’ ABOUT THE GUEST Michael Lingelbach is the CEO and co-founder of Hedra. While pursuing his PhD at Stanford, Michael worked closely with world-renowned AI researchers and developed a deep interest in pushing the boundaries of long-form video generation. Seeing an opportunity to combine advanced visual models with natural, human-centered dialogue, he set out to create a platform that produces fully generated video and immersive, conversational virtual avatars. Under Michael’s leadership, Hedra attracted early backing from top-tier investors, including Index Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz. Since launching publicly in 2023, the company has grown its user base to over one million registered users, earning recognition from both independent creators and major enterprises. Hedra’s generative video technology now powers cutting-edge use cases ranging from marketing and social media content to more complex interactive experiences.
